Where is Captured Models and Converted Models in SD 3.0.03?

Hi,
I was using OSD 2.1 and was using captured Models and Converted Models view to migrate my SQL Server database objects. I can not find it in new version of OSD 3.0.03.
Is there any flow change in this release? Where can I find these two views?
Also I can not find right click menu item "Capture Function" if I want to migrate SQL Server function to Oracle.
I appreciate your input/help.
Thanks,

Jignesh,
Have you tried any migration steps at all using the v3 version ?
You can start a migration by either -
- click on Tools then the Migration option
- make a connection to SQL*Server, exapnd the entry then right click on a database which brings up the migration option.
The workflow is different from the v2.1 version and once going through the migration steps you can stop at any stage you want, for example at the capture stage without doing the convert.
You should checkout the documentation available at -

  • Difference between OBIEE Logical Modelling and physical modelling

    HI.
what is the difference between logical modeling (BMM) and physical modelling(Physical layer) in obiee admin tool
please narrate it in definition format
    thank you
    rakesh

    Hi rakesh,
Administrator tool consists of 3 layers
Physcial layer:-It is typically first layer built in the repository.Contains objects representing the physical data sources to which the BI server submits queries. It may conatin multiple data sources. The common way is to import metadat from different databases. You can define joins after import if they are not defined.
Business model and mapping layer:-It is defined as business or logical models of data and specifies the mapping between the physical and business layers. This is where the physical schemas are simplified to form the basis for the end user.We can say data is seperated into facts and dimension tables
Presentation layer:-simplifies and organizes the business model to make it easy for users to understand and query
go through the user guides for all the definition and subject
    Hope it helps you.my points?

    Hi All,
I have just joined. i just want to know that what is the difference between the CTO model and the other models like PSG and F3G in the Thinkpads. Becuse when i put the 7665-CTO in the quick search it does not show me the details of the thinkpad.it shows "ThinkPad T61 Configure-To-Order system". What does that means

    Welcome to the forum!
Just look what Wikipedia and other glossary sources (like this one) do tell you about CTO and you will know where the difference is.

    Hello,
I am creating a JTable with a custom table model and a custom column model. However the table header is not being displayed (yes, it is in a JScrollPane). I've shrunk the problem down into a single compileable example:

So, the header ends up rendered as an empty label (probably of size 0 if the JTable computes its header size based on the renderer's preferred size).nitpicking (can't resist - the alternative is a cleanup round in some not so nice code I produced recently <g>):
    - it's not the JTable's business to compute its headers size (and it doesn't, the header's the culprit.) *> - the header should never come up with a zero (or near-to) height: even if there is no title shown, it's still needed as grab to resize/move the columns. So I would consider this sizing behaviour a bug.*
    - furthermore, the "really zero" height is a longstanding issue with MetalBorder.TableHeaderBorder (other LAFs size with the top/bottom of their default header cell border) which extends AbstractBorder incorrectly. That's easy to do because AbstractBorder itself is badly implemented

  • Engineer between Logical Model and Relational Model

I am trying to update changes from one model to the other but there are dublicate entries generated instead of updates.
The Logical Model was imported from Oracle Designer, the Relational Model was imported from data dictionary.
Our rule is, that the name of Entities/Tables and Attribute/Columns are identical.
So I changed the Naming Standard of the Logical Model in Preferences
from Separator = Space to Separator = Character with char = Underline.
If the entity is not existing, it is created with the correct name.
If the entity exists, a new entity is created with Namev1.
The same happens when I try to update changes in the other direction.
How can I achieve that the existing entity (or table) is updated and not a new one is created?
Or in other words, is there a way to link entities to corresponding tables?
    Walter

    Hi Walter,
The Logical Model was imported from Oracle Designer, the Relational Model was imported from data dictionaryit's good to import entities and related tables from Designer repository together. Data Modeler will import the link between them and use that link in synchronization between logical and relational model. After that you can import details for physical model from database.
If you don't have tables in Designer repository and keep the same names for entities, attributes, tables and columns then you can engineer logical model to relational and import details from database.

  • Data Modeler and Navigation Modeler Not Opening

    Hi all,
I am facing one strange issue in my NWDS.
When we click on the component controller, a diagram view opens up where we do mappings among view, interface controller and comp controller.
But in my studio, if I double click or right click --> Open Data Modeler, nothing happens ! That is no diagram opens up !
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling my studio. But all in vein !
I installed my NWDS some 6 months back and this feature was working perfectly fine till yesterday.
Can anybody please help me out here?
    Thanks and regards,

    Hi,
If you are facing that problem then remove the .meatdata folder from your workspace and then open the NWDS with new workspace.

  • Delete Rules between Logical Model and Relational Model are different

Relation Properties in Logical model has three Delete Rules: "RESTRICT", "NO_ACTION", "SET NULL".
    1. "RESTRICT" and "NO_ACTION" are same
    2. "CASCADE" is missing.
However, Foreign Key Properties in Physical model has three Delete Rules: "RESTRICT", "NO_ACTION", "CASCADE".
    1. "RESTRICT" and "NO_ACTION" are same
    2. "SET NULL" is missing in this case.
They are supposed to have "NO_ACTION or RESTRICT", "SET NULL", and "CASCADE".
Please fix this ASAP. It is really annoying in Engineering process. Modeler creates duplicate wrong relationships while it engineers.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
it seems you are not using the latest version 3.3. In earlier versions - delete rule set on relationship was used only in some cases to set delete rule on related foreign key. Now delete rule is transferred to FK as it's defined on relationship.
I assume you are using Oracle database - "Restrict" doesn't appear anymore for Oracle.
    2. "SET NULL" is missing in this case. Most likely the foreign key is set as mandatory thus you cannot use "set null" as option.
Modeler creates duplicate wrong relationships while it engineers. Can you elaborate on that - example?

  • Camera model and lens model

Just a bit confused about this in the metadata. Every time I reopen Ap 3. the camera and lens info on the metadata has gone. I then need to select all the photos I want the data for and in metadata click " update from master ". When I close that project and reopen the information has gone again and I need to repeat the procedure. Am I being stupid here by missing something obvious ??
    douglas

    Stola,
I am willing to share my lens profiles with others and I have sent this profile directly to Adobe and it is in the database, accessible from Photoshop CS5.
I will have to send you the lens profile as an attachment since a Lightroom user cannot access the lens profile database, according to what I have seen on this forum.  You can send me a private message with your email address and I will send the file to that address, it is an 83 kilobyte file and is for RAW images, the NEFs, shot with the D700. I took 120 different images, not 27, to develop this profile, so it is a good one that I invested a lot of time in developing.
In order to send a private message to me with your email address to mail the lens profile file to, you would click on my name beside the post of the topic, and then when the menu comes up, on the right, choose "Actions", "Send private message", and then compose the note to send me your email address within the private message, unless you want to post your email address on the forum, which robots can obtain and then spam you with advertisements, etc..

  • How to parse XSD in ABAP and convert into models

    Hello Experts,
I have a scenario where XSD is available in ABAP and want to parse it and convert into object such as XSD Schema, XSD Complext Type, XSD Simple Type etc... (that is create a DOM model of XSD)
Are there some standard APIs which can provide this feature?
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Arpit,
If my understanding of your requirement is correct then the class - CL_FP_XSD_FOR_ABAPTYPES, should help you out.
Let me know how this works out, or i am completely off your requirement.

I did some Google search, and found that, "An allocation function shall be a class member function or a global function; a program is ill-formed if an allocation function is declared in a namespace scope other than global scope or declared static in global scope. [..]" (c++ - operator new inside namespace - Stack Overflow).
Would appreciate any help or suggestion.

I tried you last suggestion, by simply moving the "new" function before the namespace, but it gave me the following  Error: The prior declaration for operator new(unsigned long) has no exception specification.
So, I naively just defined the new as below, just to see what happens:
41  inline void* operator new( size_t size, CalleeAllocator& a) throw()
        42  {return a.alloc(size);
        43  }
which, after compilation gives the following error:
Error: std::bad_alloc is not in the prior exception specification
The download link to the whole package is here: OpenSPARC T1
At the end of the page, there is the download link to the OpenSPARC T1 Processor for Architecture and Performance Modeling Tools.
below is the original Callee.h file: Line 97 is where the operator new is defined which appears to be outside of namespace Riesling.

  • Different LOV behavior between SQL query data model and data template

I have noticed different behavior when using parameters linked to list of values (LOV) of type menu with the multiple selection option enabled and a SQL query data model vs a data template. Here's the example because that first sentence was probably really confusing.
    SQL Query:
    select
    plmc.MonthCode, plmc.ModalityDim, plmc.ModalityName,plmc.RegionDim
    from
    DataOut.dbo.PatientLabMonthlyCross plmc
    where
    plmc.MonthCode = 200202
    and plmc.RegionDim = 1209
    and 1 =
    case
    when coalesce(:modalityDim,null) is null
    then 1
    else
    case
    when plmc.ModalityDim in (:modalityDim)
    then 1
    else 0
    end
    end
Putting BI Publisher into debug mode, defining a data model of type SQL Query, defining a parameter called :modalityDim linked to a LOV that allows multiple selections, and selecting a couple of values from the LOV the output of the prepared statement is:
    [081607_122647956][][STATEMENT] Sql Query : select
    plmc.MonthCode,
    plmc.ModalityDim,
    plmc.ModalityName,
    plmc.RegionDim
    from
    DataOut.dbo.PatientLabMonthlyCross plmc
    where
    plmc.MonthCode = 200202
    and plmc.RegionDim = 1209
    and 1 =
    case
    when coalesce(?,?,null) is null
    then 1
    else
    case
    when plmc.ModalityDim in (?,?)
    then 1
    else 0
    end
    end
    [081607_122647956][][STATEMENT] 1:6
    [081607_122647956][][STATEMENT] 2:7
    [081607_122647956][][STATEMENT] 3:6
    [081607_122647956][][STATEMENT] 4:7
    [081607_122654713][][EVENT] Data Generation Completed...
[081607_122654713][][EVENT] Total Data Generation Time 7.0 seconds
Note how the bind variable :modalityDim was changed into two parameters in the prepared statement.
When I use this same SQL Query in a data template the output is:
    [081607_012113018][][STATEMENT] Sql Query : select
    plmc.MonthCode,
    plmc.ModalityDim,
    plmc.ModalityName,
    plmc.RegionDim
    from
    DataOut.dbo.PatientLabMonthlyCross plmc
    where
    plmc.MonthCode = 200202
    and plmc.RegionDim = 1209
    and 1 =
    case
    when coalesce(?,null) is null
    then 1
    else
    case
    when plmc.ModalityDim in (?)
    then 1
    else 0
    end
    end
    [081607_012113018][][STATEMENT] 1:'6','7'
    [081607_012113018][][STATEMENT] 2:'6','7'
[081607_012113574][][EXCEPTION] java.sql.SQLException: Syntax error converting the nvarchar value ''6','7'' to a column of data type int.
Note the exception because it is trying to convert the multiple parameter values.
Am I doing something completely wrong here? I really need to use a data template because I will need to link a couple of queries together from different database vendors.
    -mark

This is for 10.1.3.4 - because in 11g every SQL query is automatially part of a data model.
In 10g SQL query is for simple unrelated SQL queries.
If you need to use advance features such as:
    a) multiple SQL queries that are joined in master-detail relation ships
    b) before/after report triggers
Then you will need to use the data template, which is an XML description
of the queries, links, and PL/SQL calls.
    hope that helps,
    Klaus

  • SQL Server to Oracle Converted Model missing users

I am doing a migration from SQL Server to Oracle with about 100 users. The captured model seems to be correct and all of the users are there. But, when creating the Oracle Converted Model, not all of the users are being converted. On the first attempt, the Converted Model had only 21 users, and on the next attempt, the Converted Model only had 16 users. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Oracle Database XE does not allow more than one instance per server.
To define a primary key correct syntax is:
    Create table summary(
    Field NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY,
    Or:
    PRIMARY KEY constraint tabla_PK (field)
To generate the value of the primary key you must create a sequence before or after creating the table:
    Create Sequence summary_seq
    Start with 1
    Increment by 1
    Nocycle;
You can use the sequence in INSERT INTO or through a trigger:
    With Insert Into:
    Insert into Summary
    Values (summary_seq.nextval, valkor1, value2 ,...);
    With a trigger:
    Create or replace Trigger BI_summary
    Before Insert on SUMMARY
    For each row
    Begin
    Select summary_seq.nextval into campoPK
    From dual;
    End;
