SSD: for OS and apps, or for samples and audio?

I'm thinking about adding a 256 gig solid state drive; I currently have two 1TB drives. I tend to use large sample-based instruments - Play, Ivory, Vienna, Kontakt, Omnisphere, etc. - but not particularly great track counts. If I used it as the startup disk, 256 gigs would be way more than enough (because audio and video files are on other disks.) As a sample disk it would hold my most demanding and most often used libraries.
What would be the most efficient use of that SSD speed - OS and apps, or streaming samples and audio?

Using the advanced Options (control click the active admin account) in the accounts pane in System Preferences, one can specify a new location for the home folder. Very practical and way easier than trying to go into all the app's libraries to tell them where their files are.
Now I can just copy my home folder to the internal drive, and delete it on the SSD. After a restart, this new location will be recognized as the correct home folder.

Where in the MIDlet life-cycle should I create multiple forms with LWUIT ?

I must create two LWUIT forms in my application. Where should I create the two forms ? I created the first form in the startApp life-cycle method , and when I tried to create also the second form in the startApp method then there is a NullPointerException raised when running the application !
So where , or how , should I create the second form ?

I think the problem here is that Arlhoolie wants all of the different TEBs to behave as if they were part of a single interaction that submits only ONE result to the quiz. Using multiple TEBs in Captivate means that you have multiple scored objects and therefore multiple results being submitted to the quiz.
If you want a single Success or Failure result submitted to the quiz based on the results from multiple interactive objects then there really is no simple way to do it. But you could try using the Infosemantics Interactive Master widget to combine all the TEBs as slave objects that report to the Master Widget, which then reports a single score to the quiz based on the results from the slave objects.

Difference between life cycle manager and import wizard

Can any one tell me about life cycle manger. To my knowledge we use import wizard to move the data from from one environment to other. then what is the purpose of life cycle manager.
weather we need to install on the boe xi 3.1 server(solaris server) or do i need to install on the client machine. do we need separate licence to get this are is it free.

LCM enables you to store several versions of the same BOBJ object (eg reports). This is very helpful for development projects eg. if your testing phase fails you can rollback to an older version of your reports.
Regarding the license you have to ask your local SAP sales representative. I know that the license is normally bundled in BO license packages but only SAP sales can provide an official statement about this.
My personal recommendation: If you want to move a limited number of objects on-demand and fast then use the Import WIzard. Otherwise use the LCM.

Where are Mac App Store user ratings and reviews?

What happened to all the user ratings and reviews in the Mac App Store? They're all missing. I checked a whole bunch of apps and nothing has any ratings or reviews from anyone. Has Apple gotten rid of user ratings and reviews? I sure hope not because I use those to help decide if I want to buy an app or not!

Yep. I think they've gone. But Google the app and another set of reviews (usually from the developers site) can be found.

CMC: Security: Life Cycle Manager (LCM) missing under "Appication" Security

Hello there,
I am trying to set up security for the Life Cycle Manager (LCM). LCM has been installed on the BO 3.1 DEV_System with version SP2, FP4, by another company.
I am using the procedure described in the (my opinion very well written) article:

The problem is, in the CMC security, under "Application" ("Anwendung") security, I cant see the "life cycle manager",
Hence, e.g. I cant grant access to "Application"->"Life Cycle Manager"->"Create Job". I am using an Admin user with full rights.
The life cycle manager does show up however under "Content" ("Inhalt") security, but I guess this concerns other security settings bc granting access to all of "Content"->"Life Cycle Manager" and "Content"->"Life Cycle Manager Job" still didnt allow end-user to create jobs.
Did anybody stumble accross the same or has an explanation or solution?
I think this is either a installation or configuration issue (are there any additional settings after intallation needed in other places in order to display security "Application"->"Life Cycle Manager" security in CMC and be able to grant end-users the appropriate rights) ?

thanks... meanwhile, I found a SAP note that describes exactly the problem:

Advice is to even delete the whole workfolders for all webapps (.../localhost/catalina/...) and deployfolder and after that, start tomcat again.
This also seemed to deploy all the webapps again, also, date from the deployed files indicates they really got redeployed.
But: Still the same behaviour, no LCM in CMC-Security under "Applications" .
Since everything got deployed again guess already the files that are deployed are not containing the right information!
Maybe, during installation, they didnt get updated somehow.
So, guess only solution will be to completely uninstalling LCM, reinistall it and cross finger that this time, the files will get updated.
I already tried uninstalling FP 2.4, reinstalled it, no improvement (although it says it is updating CMCApp and CMCAppAction during installation - maybe the necessary updates are already done during isntallation of SP0/SP1/SP2).
When trying to uninstall SP2 after FP 2.4 is uninstalled, get an error "missing .dll" - it is a mess, but I will keep on fighting
If anybody has a clue how to specifically change specific files under CMCApp and CMCActionApp directly (dont know if that is possible though...) so that LCM App is displayed correctly in CMC Security->Application , would also be an acceptable workaround .

Account Life cycle: Screen Control

Display additional assignment blocks that should only be available if the account is in a certain life cycle stage.
Hide assignment blocks that should not be available in certain life cycle stages.
I have implemented the Business Add-In (BAdI) BADI_CRM_BP_UIU_VIEWS from the enhancement spot CRM_UIU_BP_ENHANCEMENT with the filter value BP_HEAD as COMPONENT. Within the implementation of the interface method IF_UIU_BP_VIEWS~DETERMINE_VIEWS i want to evaluate the current life cycle stage, and the corresponding role exclusion group, by the current instance of the custom controller BP_HEAD/Lifecycle. The custom controller should be retrieved from the referenced view controller passed in the parameter IR_VIEW_CONTROLLER by calling GET_CUSTOM_CONTROLLER() and providing the custom controller name BP_HEAD/Lifecycle.
My problem is that I can´t locate the records containing current life cycle stage, and the corresponding role exclusion group.
Anybody can hel me?

Where is GrowlHelperApp.app? box pops up and closes after a few seconds. I don't have Growl installed - what can I do?

Whenever I open my recently Mavericks booted mac, a pop up box appears asking me
"Where is GrowlHelperApp.app?"
I have never used nor heard of Growl before.
I spent around an hour googling for a soultion, but the only ones I can find all relate to having Growl installed.
The worst part is that clicking "Cancel" immediately brings the box back up again, whilst moving it or just leaving the box open results in it closing itself after ~15 seconds just to re-open again.
It's extremely frustrating.
Does anyone know what to do to get rid of this without having to buy Grow

let me start with saying that the question you ask may not help you to determine the duration of your project. As Ryan and others stated the duration of the project is highly dependent on the scope of the solution you are implementing, geographical scope, amount of modifications/enhancements, number of languages, number of users that need to be trained, amount of standard processes customer is able to re-use in the implementation and many other factors (like quality of implementation contractor you will chose and availability of customer and implementors resources). I can probably go on for another couple lines, but I guess you get the idea.
With that out of the way let's talk about some example implementations that will give you an idea - Ryan did great job outlining what I would call traditional approach above. I have couple examples where customers leveraged innovative deployment strategies that are available today. In particular the project teams leveraged pre-packaged services like RDS, World Template or Best Practices as their baseline solution and they built from there. Second acceleration technique customers now leverage is the deployment in the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud to accelerate the time to initial setup of the system and thus move from traditional blueprinting to scope validation exercise that further shortens the time. There are other acceleration techniques we see applied in some cases like use of iterative implementation of the delta requirements on top of the baseline solution.
Let me offer few examples to illustrate what I explained above:
ERP implementation at Schaidt Innovations with 3 months long deployment of ERP solution using ERP RDS as a baseline (you can view their testimonial here - Schaidt Innovations: SAP ERP on HANA in the cloud - YouTube)
Customer in Asia with global template deployment that leveraged SAP ERP for Manufacturing with deployment to cloud and 9 countries rollout (Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, UK, Germany and US). The initial deployment took 4 months for first country and 2 months for rollout into the additional 8 countries - so total of 6 months. The original plan using traditional approach with full blueprint and heavy configuration was estimated to be more than double of the actual deployment time.
There are many other examples where customers follow the assemble-to-order delivery model for their project and gain significant benefits doing so. I suggest you to review some of the recordings we did in 2013 about this approach and if you are member of ASUG review the Agile ASAP sessions we did for ASUG PM SIG.

Running proportional factor using shipment history takes to old products /Location. What i can suggest you is
.1.Run proportional factor using shipment history to APODPDANT and copy proportional factor to another key figure where you can call adjustment proportional factor key figure, maintain proportional percentage to life cycle products / location to the new key figure and assign to forecast key figure to generate forecast .

I had one game permanently just stop working, it usually does crash, but that last time it just went bad, I don't know the reason, I tried powering off iPod, relaunching game, but the game never worked again. I think it corrupted its own save file or some of its own data.
Have you tried another game or app, do those work? If they do, then I guess you know where the problem lies, but if they all stop working, then what about apps, can apps launch?
Lastly, apps from the app store are checked by Apple, so they are clean.

I have also been having another problem - with BBC iPlayer and other video streaming not working due to insufficient bandwidth, despite my overall download speed being consistently around 50Gb. This is also affecting AppleTV downloads

In adobe reader app on iPad, I have a PDF document that added notes and comments to. Once I left the document and returned to it, the notes and comments were gone. Where are they? I clicked "save" and "done" buttons after I entered text.

The application auto-saves your input when you close the document. If you left the document, as you state, the notes/comments should have been saved and should have been visible the next time you opened the document with the Mobile Reader (note that if you are opening the document with another app such as Apple's built in PDF Viewer, things like notes/comments may not be visible). Also note that if you are doing an Open In... from another app (like Dropbox), the version of the document in Dropbox does not update; only the version of the document in the Mobile Reader is updated.
