Where is the option to authorize my computer to use my itunes?

Im trying to download some audiobooks from my new computer to my ipod and its telling me my computer is not authorized. I cant seem to find the option anywhere in the store and its too late to call apple support.

If the computer's running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.
If the computer's running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

I authorized the computer, got a message saying the computer was already authorized.  The I connected my iPhone to the computer and got a message saying the computer was not authorized, that I needed to go thru the previous stps to authorize.  iTunes is giving me conflicting directions.  How doi I resolve that?

    Hello Amber,
Congratulations on your new computer!  I found an article with steps on authorizing iTunes to play your purchased music:
To authorize a computer using your Apple ID
    Open iTunes
From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer. (In earlier versions of iTunes, access this option from the Advanced menu).
When prompted, enter your Apple ID and password, then click Authorize.
You can find the full article here:
iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1420
I hope this helps get your iTunes back on track!
    Best,
    Sheila M.

I keep getting the notice to authorize my computer, yet I can't find the option to do so anywhere.

You can authorise your account via the Store drop-down menu at the top of the iTunes screen - if you are using a PC with iTunes 11 on then control-B should get the menus to show

  • HT1420 I don't have the option to authorise my computer in iTunes store?

I am trying to authorize my new computer to play tunes I have transferred from my Iphone, but when I go to Itunes store / and the account information, I do not have any option to authorize this computer. In account information it says that 1 computer is currently authorized to play tunes connected with my Apple ID so that is not a problem... where do I authorize this computer? Any help gratefully received. Thankyou

Aha I have just found the answer to my question thanks to a related question popping up! Its in the Store menu at the top of the pc, not within the pc windows... That is not made clear!

  • HT1420 I have followed the instructions but it does not give me the option to authoruize my computer on the menu..please help

I am trying to authorize my computer, I have followed the on screen instructions but it does not give me the option to authorize.
    Please help!

Always remember to 'de-authorize' you computer when selling or sending for service. If sending for repairs you might not get the same mother board or HD back and some how this counts as an authorized computer against your count.

  • Where is the option for OCR?

We am trying to highlight words in a PDF attachment to an email.  The user has Adobe Standard 8 or 9.  The menu bar at the top only has File, Edit, View, Window.  Where is the option to choose OCR recognition?  I know it is in "Document" but on the user's computer "Document" does not show up on the menu bar.

  • ITunes: where is the option to sync music without iCloud ????

I have 3000+ songs in my iTunes account on my mac Mini
I upgraded to iO6 and now, the only option I have to sync my music that I see is with iCloud.  I no longer have an option to sync the music on my computer directly to my iPhone.
iClould doesn't work at 41,000' with no wi-fi and no cell service, or when I am camping in remote areas.
Where is the option in iTunes to sync music from a computer to a iPhone or other device?
    Thanks for the help folks.

    Thanks sberman.
    I have iTunes 10.7 (21)
I don't have Mountain Lion, and there is no option to "Sync Music" when I plug my iPhone in.  I have had a Powerbook G4 since 2005, and have being using iTunes since 2005 with multiple iPods, iPhones.
There simply isn't an option to sync my music with my iPhone 4S.
I do see the ability to sync contacts, photos, but when I click on the music tab under iTunes, I see this image:
I have never seen this option before and would love to see the option to "Sync All Music", "Syn All Playlist" and "Sync Selected Playlists" or whateve the old screen options where.
Do you really think this is a iOS 10.7.5 issue vs 10.8 (Mountain Lion)?
Thank you very much for your replies.
