Where is the simple "place" command in Photoshop cc?

I am using photoshop cc and cannot find the "place" command. All I have under file is "place embedded and place linked. Will you be able to help me?

There are two place options now, Instead of just adding Place Link and leaving the old place option Adobe renamed Place to Place embedded and may have change its operation a bit. Old code that use place still works. And both Place Embedded and Place Linked add smart object layer that have copies of the original file in the layers embedded object. So they are independent from the original. However the Place Linked object is also linked to the original file. If the document is open when the original file is updated and committed the smart object layer will be automatically updated. If its not open and later opened in the future you will be informed that the original file has been updated or that the link was broken because the file was either moved or delete. In Layer menu smart objects several new options have been added one can be used to resolve broken links. I would think if one was to open a linked smart object layer the the original file or the resolved file would be open. If the link was not resolved the object would the be changed to a Place Embedded layer and the file copy would be used. I have not tested this so what is written is just a guess on my part for I do not have a need for Place Linked....

A bit vague as to what you intend, but the simple answer is to select all the files you want to delete then either drag to the Trash or CTRL- or RIGHT-click on the selection and choose Move to Trash from the contextual menu.

Unable to use place command in photoshop

I am unable to use the place command in photoshop cs5.5 since upgrading to mavericks. The window pops open briefly then shuts immediately. Photoshop hangs as it is still awaiting the action to complets. The same behavior exists when attempting to add attachments to emails. Any idea what may be causing this? This only began to occur after the upgrade to mavericks.

Okay, I admitt, .... I am an idiot that is new to Adobe Photoshop.
But help the new girl out, here.... Please...
Where are the render preferences in Adobe Photoshop Extended CS6.
I searched Adobe Help in Dutch already but they point me towards options that doesn't excist.
Maybe they were there in Adobe CS5 and I am reading an older version of the documentation...
But in CS6 I can only find the option Render and no Render Preferences...

Adobe changed the way video is rendered in CS6. Adobe Media Encoder in now used in CS6 only a subset of the Adobe's full Adobe Media Encoder is included in CS6 is a dll. I do not think you can add new Rendering Presets however you can change some setting when you use the supplied Reddening Presets. Perhaps if you have the Adobe suite and have the full Adobe Media Encoder you can create some presets and add them to Photoshop Rendering presets. I seem some compliants about CS6 Quicktime rendering presets lack the power of CS5. The Rendering presets seem to be stored in sub folders in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Presets\Video\Adobe Media Encoder" and "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Presets\Video\Adobe Media Encoder"

Where is the "stroke options panel" in Photoshop CS6?

Where is the "stroke options panel" in Photoshop CS6? It used to be right above the layers palette in older versions of Photoshop but now it's gone. I'v been trying to find it for an hour and a half and it doesn't seem to be in any of the menus.

If you're looking for the Stroke options of a layer, you can find that by clicking the layer you have a stroke on or wish to have a stroke on, and then clicking the fx icon in the bottom of the layers panel:
And it will open the Stroke options for that layer.
Another option is by clicking Edit at the top menu, and then choosing "Stroke..." (make sure you have a layer selected).
It will then bring up a window with Stroke options on it for that layer:

Hello once again,
I have yet to purchase my MBP, and I am wondering from all of your experiences, where is the best place to buy a 1gig 3rd party RAM. Paying all that money for Apple's RAM isn't that way I want to go, but if there's no recommended 3rd party companies, I may need to cough over the bucks...

Fair enough. I wasn't actually suggesting buying from Crucial.The best source for the 1gb Crucial was Newegg.com at $150 - but this is also for a chip that Apple are supplying as original ram so it's not a bad price. I didn't know Crucial sold Samsung - seems a bit odd as they are owned by Micron who also supply Apple as OEM. Business makes for strange bedfellows:)
OWC sell their own branded ram for $112 or so and Samsung M470T295CZ3-CE6 (as also supplied by Apple) for $170. What I was saying was that this Samsung chip,

can be found for as little as $120 - so OWC are a tad expensive for this particular chip if that is the one you were thinking of buying.
It sounds like you're going for the OWC own brand, so I can't recommend a cheaper source for that and they know a thing or two about ,macs so there's no reason to not trust their judgement.

I often wish when I select a word to right click and choose dictionary to to find out the meaning of the word. Currently I have to copy, go to a dictionary web page, paste and search. And I spent a lot of time for that. I'm not that technically oriented to suggest how this can be achieved but just as an idea, may be Mozilla can partner with dictionary web sites by making a plug ins or include a dictionary with Firefox itself

In a web app I store all my email templates in a files folder in the web app. Can't do that with a worker in a cloud service - no files. So where's the best place to store them? In a BLOB? And if so, is there a way to have files in my project get automatically
written to BLOB entries when I publish?

Depends on what your logic does and what data it deals with, but in general business logic is in the ADF BC layer.
Some goes into entity objects - for things like attribute or row validation.
Some goes into view objects - for things like calculation.
Some goes into AM - for things like service methods for UI clients.

Wdfdevice.h is missing some wpp annotations. Where is the best place to report this?

I am trying to use the WPP enum annotations in wdfdevice.h but found that many of the enums that are declared with CUSTOM_TYPE in wdftraceenums.h are not annotated with "begin_wpp enum" so the WPP generation step fails. I'm actually
building with WDK 1.9 but i checked the include files in 1.11 and 1.13 and they have the same issue.

You are completely correct, It seems the CUSTOM_TYPE declarations in wdftraceenum.h are enough. The compile error I got was because I left a commented out line as one of the parameters to my TraceEvents call which apparently the preprocessor didn't like.

Where is the best place to download Histogram equalizers

I found out on cs5 there is a histogram equalizer with in hdr toning...I also found out that there are plugins for histogram qualizers. I did download one called kamflex it was ok but it was noisy. From my learned friends on this site can you recommend others and if so where is the best place to get them. Pornada (free)

Usually for most image editing you really shouldn't need that type of plugin. (it's similar to Image>Adjustments>Equalize)
Is there a specific problem your trying to solve?
