Where is there a Fan on the VIA K8t 800 Chip

I was woundering why do they have in the new manuel for the K8T Master Far 2 a Fan on the VIA K8T 800 Chip. For one is it help performens? And where would I get one? I would like to keep the chip cool becase my is geting cover by all the stuff in the PCI and AGP I was woundering what you all thought about this ?
And why are there so many more people with the FX Chipset why would everyone want a Opteron there just so much more powerful of a proeccor?

The FX and the Opteron are the same, only the FX is an unlocked Opteron for single CPU use.
As for the fan, I have the same board here and it also has no fan.
I run that board for over a year now without any problems at all.

Is there a fan underneath the built-in microphone?

I use iChat alot and the person on the other end can hear a whooshing sound which they didn't hear when I had my PowerBook. I can hear a fan right near the built-in microphone in the left speaker. Would Apple have put a fan right beside the microphone? I can't believe this!

The left fan is about in the area just to the right of the left speaker, underneath the keyboard, from maybe esc key down to caps lock over to about the s key.

System fan error on g62-352ca on startup. are there two fans ie a cpu fan and a system fan?

I get a system fan error on power up? Are there two fans in the G52-352CA? Ie a general system fan and a CPU cooling fan or just the one CPU/heatsink fan?
If it is the CPU/heatsink fan then there are 4 part numbers for different options. Is there some way to tell from the model number or features as to which is needed. I would prefer to have the part in hand before opening everything up. Are there better fans to buy and if so how do I find them? This unit was always running a little on the warm/hot side,

Any way to know where a clip came from within the source clip?

Using Premiere Pro CS4, Version 4.2.1, on an i7 based PC.
I would like to be able to see where a clip on the timeline came from within the clip in the source monitor. Where ever there is information about the clip on the timeline, it only seems to tell me it's 'Start', 'End' and 'Duration' in relation to the current Sequence, but nothing relating to the 'In' or the 'Out' points within the source clip.
Is it possible to read this somewhere, rather than having to replay the clip in the source monitor to discover the in and out points? It tends to be tedious doing this too often.

Via 6420 Raid Chip

Trying to do some homework while anxiously awaiting the release of the 865PE-PFISR mobo. Fortunately MSI allow me to download the manual w/o having to first buy the board .
What attracts me to this mobo is the large number of IDE connectors, IDE1,2 and IDE3 for PATA units, SATA1,2 and SATA 3,4 for SATA units. Nice. Now we know we can only put one SATA unit on each SATA channel, that makes 4 SATA drives. But I can put 2 PATA units on each IDE channel, right ? SO that makes 6 PATA units, ie a total of 10 ATA units. Check me:
IDE1 Primary + Optional Slave, HDD or optical, max 2
IDE2 Primary + Optional Slave, HDD or optical, max 2
IDE3 Primary + Optional Slave, HDD only max 2
SATA1 HDD Only Max 1
SATA2 HDD Only Max 1
SATA3 HDD Only Max 1
SATA4 HDD Only Max 1
Ok so here's two questions, any bright ideas welcome to satisfy my stupidity appreciated please:
1) The BIOS in the Standard CMOS setup area (P 3-6) allows for the setup of FOUR IDE devices and their slaves, ie a total of 8 units. I know this does not include any possible RAID setup (separate). But what are these 4 channels physically referring to ? Would guess IDE1,2,3 and SATA 1 + 2 where SATA 2 is identified as a "slave" to SATA 1 ? That leaves SATA 3 and 4 for the RAID controller, but doesnt explain what controls IDE3...
2) Appendix C1 says this "1. Support two SATA + two PATA, 2. Only SATA supports RAID". Right, so if this is the case then I can only use SATA disks for RAID. Means I can use SATA 1,2 for one array (2HDD) and SATA 3,4 for another array (2 more HDD). So IDE3 I cannot use for RAID.
Right, so what controls IDE3, seems the RAID chip to me, but if this is the case how can the standard BIOS allow for the setp of 4 x channels each with master and slave capability ?
See my confusion ? I am used to the old Promise 100 on my K7T266Pro2-RU (direct control over IDE3 and 4 only) and I really want to know what channels this VIA 6420 chip actually controls, and what the standard non-RAID SATA/PATA controllers actually control....

Thats a Good question, and I will go to the Via site to find out, as you know right now all the Intel Based P-4 Mo-Bo's ICH5 support only 2 S-ATA Devices, and the rest are supported by the Third Party IDE Controler (Promise or Silicon Images, VIA) as you know that the Promise Controler that is on Both the i875 and i865 Supports 2 S-ATA HDD and 2 P-ATA HDD on IDE-3......Now my ABIT Supports 6 S-ATA altogether the intel ICH5 = 2 and the Silicon Images Supports 4 S-ATA (But the ABIT does not have the P-ATA IDE-3)...I was just reading the i865PE-PSIF2R Manual and this Via Chip is limited to 2 S-ATA and 2 P-ATA just like the Promise Chip that MSI used to use...I went to the VIA site and the 6420 Chip does NOT support more than 2+2, so it's not like MSI told them to hold Back...I also read at VIA's site that thier new Controler (due out in the Spring) will support 4+2 so yep I think that MSI Should stick with VIA for the Extra Onboard IDE Solutions, since they already sell the VIA Based Motherboard thats what they should do (Get rid of Promise)..And the Best thing that MSI Could do as far as VIA is Concerned, is to Get VIA to supply MSI (us) with those beautiful VIA Sound Chip Called the "Envy 24-PT" 24-Bit 7.1 onboard sound with 96KHz Digital Sampling that all those Lucky MSI PT880 Owners now have !! OK mabe thats asking for to much..I'll settle for the VIA-VT1617 Sound Chip, as this has 20 Bit 7.1 Sound too...Time to get rid of the "C-Media" sound.............Sean REILLY875

Is there a way for the 5s to HOST CONTROL devices via Lightning or otherwise?

So I asked this question in the regular Apple forum because I am trying to help a company why is not very Apple savvy
figure out how to offer the same level of control they offer on Android devices with the iPhone 5, 5c and 5s. They realize
there are restrictions on the Lightning side but I was wondering if such functions can be controlled via the 3.5 jack being
as that is an output source for the iPhone.
I realize the EASIEST solution is for them to make their device BlueTooth capable and that would solve the issue right
then and there but they already have several thousand units boxed and ready to go so this would be a solution for all their
customers who own Apple devices and do not have the ability to control the device the way Android users can.
If anyone knows of ANY device that can be host controlled by any Lightning cabled device, please let me know so they
can look into it and get this going.

I can't answer the "host control" part of your question, but there are plenty of devices that can be controlled by an app running on the iPod. For example, the Square credit card reader connects to the headphone jack.
If the device vendor wants to use the Lightning port, they should join the MFi Program.

The iPhone HAS to be active making calls on the UK carrier network for the carrier to identify as "theirs" and therefore eligible for the Carrier to unlock
The way to achieve this is to use a PAYG sim making and receiving calls to establish a customer relationship with the Carrier and then follow the Carrier's process to unlock
With a PAYG it usually means adding a specified (by the carrier ) amount usually £15 /£20 depending on the carrier

It is possible that you are somewhere else in the world and the webpage is smart enough to give a different phone number, so the number I see may or may not be applicable to where you are.
It also may be advisable to use the Chat instead of the phone, because it may be easier to understand what someone is typing than trying to interpret their English through whatever accent they are speaking with.

There are no viruses for iOS currently.
iOS employs security features built into it-mainly sand boxing.
You can not download apps from the Internet, apps cannot make changes to the core system or system wide, apps can access data inside the app itself and a very limited set outside itself.
Sand boxing also prevents AV software from working in iOS.
You can't scan the device from the AV software because it can't access the other apps or their data.

Have you been able to use the Mac Mini directly attached to the plasma/LCD/projector with out going through the Denon AVR? Even with 10.9.3 installed?
I have a Pioneer AVR and I have the Mac attached via a HDMI to HDMI and all is working for me. Can your Denon do some upscaling? Some AVR, like my VSX-53 can change the scaling of the input video. Meaning if I still had my Apple TV 2 which outputs 720P only, can be upscaled in my AVR to 1080i or 1080P or even 24fps. Heck, I could even plug in an old style Red, White, Yellow cable and upscale it to 1080P and output it HDMI.
I am wondering if your Denon is able to do that and it might be set wrong. Check the owners manual for such settings. Even the plasma/LCD/project could be doing the upscaling too. So check that too.
