Where oh where do I find my photos in iPhoto 5?

I poke around and I get a bunch of folders with years on them. A click of a particular year only yields a few photos. They've got to be somewhere, right?
I need to know because I want to FTP them from my Mac to my PowerBook.
Thanks.

Select the photos in iPhoto and export them to a desktop folder (file menu ==> export) and FTP from there

  • I imported vacation photos, got the color wheel and did a force quit. Now I can't find any of those photos, and of course I deleted them from the SD card when I imported them. Where can I find those photos?

I imported vacation photos from my cameras SD card and deleted them when the import was complete. Then I moved them from Events into an Album. When trying to move 2 photos as once to another album I got the color wheel and locked up. I did a force quit but when I go back into iPhoto none of the recently imported photos appear - not in Events, the album, trash, etc. Where can I find those photos?

backup the iPhoto Library and launch iPhoto while depressing and holding the option and command keys until the first aid window appears - rebid your iPhoto library

Individual photos are not accessilble in the backup. You should be extracting photos from the phone to your computer like you would with any other digital camera.

Photo Stream, if they were uploaded to it within the last 30 days. Assuming you no longer have the phone or it's not working, that's it. If you didn't back them up, they're gone.

Try the camera roll.  Often when photos are copied they end up there

  • Where can i find my photos that are on my phone, are they saved to i tunes?

where can i find the photos on my phone, should they not be saved on i tunes?

Photos are not saved in your iTunes library.  You can use iTunes to sync photos from your computer to your phone, but they are stored on your hard drive.  Camera roll photos are contained in your iPhone backup, but not in as way that allows you to view them; they are only backed up so your phone can be restored later, if necessary.  You should import your photos to your computer as you would with any digital camera, as outlined here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

Just one little addition to add to Kirby's spot-on answer: Are you worried, if you will still have access to your photos after the trial licence expired? Without a valid Aperture licence you will still be able to access the original master image files, but not to the edited versions. From what Kirby Krieger told you, it is clear that you will have access to referenced master image files, located outside the library. If your library is managed you can access the master files inside the Aperture Library Package by ctrl-clicking the Aperture Library and selecting: "Show Package contents". The original master image files are located inside the folder "Masters". Here is what my Aperture Library Package looks like:

  • Where do I find my photos on the time capsule?

I use an Airport Time Capsule and now I want to go back and find some photos in iPhoto-library but I can't find them?

If you are asking about Time Machine backups, it is not possible to "browse" individual photos in the backed up library if you are using the Lion operating sysem or later.
All that you can do is restore the entire library, then go hunting for the photos that you want.
When you choose to restore the library, you will have the option to replace your current library with the library in the backups, or restore as a separate library.

Thanks for the answer.  After I posted this question, I saw there were other discussions.  I do see everything is there, but it is time comsuming to view each individual picture to make sure I put it in the right catagory!!
I did send feedback to apple,  but I see people have been asking them to fix this problem for the last 7 months or so, and it is still not fixed.....so what is good about the new version!!?

  • I can't find my photoes in iPhoto application.

i cant find my photoes in iphoto...

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

  • Where do i find my photos

I've recently upgraded my OS to Mountain Lion OSX (version 10.6.8). Since, I cannot find my photos and when I open iPhoto on my Macbook, it seems to require a file name? Help!?

iPhoto's photos are in Your Home Folder > Pictures.
Having upgraded to M. Lion, perhaps your iPhoto Library has not yet been copied over to the new Op. System. If so, simply find it on your backup and copy it over.
If, when you then launch iPhoto, it should find it. If not, quit iPhoto and then relaunch while holding down the OPTION key. From the resulting list, choose that copied Library. After that, iPhoto will, when launched, find that Library automatically.

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.

  • Finding imported photos in iphoto 2

this past march, i created a new library on my external lacie for my photos in iphoto - to free up some space on my machine. since march there were many times when the lacie wasn't connected to the powerbook but i was still able to import my photos from my camera onto iphoto. i never really checked where they were being imported or stored. today i wanted to make take those imports and put them on the lacie so they wouldn't take up room on my hd - the library manager showed the library was located in /volumes/lacie disk/iphoto library. so thought i should start from scratch and create a new library on the manager to include those photos from the hd with the ones in the library of the lacie.
i deleted the library in the manager and chose it again from the lacie- this time it said 'album datafile for this library could not be found' and all of the pics from the library were gone. i got the pics back by importing them all again from the library on the lacie but they didn't include the last imports that had happened when the lacie was not connected (march until now- about 300 photos)
i tried to rebuild the library and got doubles of everything, but still no recent imports
i have tried to search for some of the specific pic numbers of all those in the finder as well as spotlight but to no avail. have i lost them forever? are they stored somewhere i just can't get to? if someone can help i would be so grateful.

iPhoto Library Manager is a third-party application that's used for convenient access to multiple iPhoto library folders, once you've added them to its catalog. It does not automatically scan for candidates and your description sounds like you didn't have it managing all of your various photo libraries. Removing a library from that catalog does not delete the library from your hard drive, and rebuilding an iPhoto Library folder doesn't automatically add it to the list of managed libraries. Your description makes no mention of an iPhoto malfunction, so I'm not sure that your rebuild was necessary.
The library you rebuilt was the original default iPhoto Library folder (in your Pictures folder). Is that the one you had intended to rebuild? One normally would rebuild a corrupt photo database. If your problem is that you downloaded photos unintentionally to the wrong photo collection, then no database rebuild can correct that. You'll have to export images from one, import them into the other, then delete the photos that were successfully exported.
If the rebuilt library contains the same images as the original, then move one or the other to the trash to regain the disk space.
