Where on my Mini do i put the iPod 'video' i've taken?

Where on my Mini do i put the iPod 'video' i've taken?
I connect my iPod to my MacMini, and then what?
I tried importing or dragging it from my iPod to iMovie on my Mac, but it resisted, that din't work.
i don't think a video goes to my iPhoto on my Mac.
So where, how can i put it?
I'm just beginning to take video with the Camera on my iPod Touch.   I didn't mean to, i thot i was just taking a picture, but there it is, a few seconds of video, so i thot i would learn to get it off my iPod and onto my computer somehow.
I will try your advice later, as i won't have much time today, but am anxious and will be grateful for your help.

Oh.  O I C.
I'm guessing i just drag the video, while  i've selected my connected iPod on my iPhoto screen, over to my iPhoto icon?
Or within my iPhoto screen i drag the video down to where, cuz i didn't see a place for it on iPhoto.  Maybe it already transferred the video to iPhoto, and i can already delete it from my iPod.
Cuz that happened with some pictures i took on my iPod, which i dragged to iPhoto icon and was informed they were already there so i could delete pics from my iPod.
I'll try your advice later when i have time.
(i know i'm asking a lot of questions today, while i have time, and will try the answers later.)
thanks a whole lot, as always.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • Ipod shuffle 2nd gen wont sync music it always gets stuck on a different song everytime and the puts the ipod into recovery mode!

    Hey guys
My dads 2nd gen ipod shuffle will not sync music. I try to sync the music by autofill and manually and it freezes for a long time, and then says the device cannot be found. It then puts the ipod shuffle into recovery mode and i then have to restore the ipod and loose all the data.

The shuffle may be losing its data connection to the computer during the time it is syncing.  If you have not already, you should shut down (power off) the computer.  Disconnect all USB devices (except for standard keyboard and mouse if normally used), including hubs.  Do this to Reset the shuffle
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1655
Start up the computer, run iTunes, and connect the shuffle to a direct USB port.  Try repeating the action that is causing the error.
If that does not help, select the shuffle in iTunes and go to its Settings screen.  There is a checkbox for Enable disk use.  If that setting is checked, uncheck it.  If it is not checked, check it.  Basically, reverse the current setting.  Apply the change.  See of that makes any difference.

If You Are Locked Out Or Have Forgotten Your Passcode or Just Need to Restore Your Device
iTunes 10 for Mac- Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
    iOS- Understanding passcodes
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup. If you do not have a
backup to restore, then restore as New.
If you are restoring to fix a forgotten Restrictions Code, then skip Step 9 and restore as New.
If you really do need to put it in recovery mode (DFU):
Placing your device into recovery mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
       1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
       2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
                  * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
      3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
      4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
      5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
      6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

hmmmm. are you getting any sort of a blue screen, as well as the black screen, alex?
if so, what numerical and text codes are you getting with it? (ie 0x[zeros/letters/numbers] CAPSANDUNDERSCORES)

    1) Open your system control panel (Start->Control Panels->System).

  • How Do You Get Your DVD's onto the iPod Video?

Is there a way to transfer my movies onto the iPod video? Will I need to buy the Quick Time Pro and then convert the video to mp4? Will that even work?
Anyone put their movies on the iPod and can share?
    Thanks.
    Patrice
    www.HollywoodCharityAuction.com

yall are all going the wrong way.
    there's 2 pieces of software you'll need (they're free!!!):
    nero recode 2 CE
DVD decrypter (probably hard to find on the internet now)
use DVD decrypter to rip the DVD (here's a link for instructions but forget about the videora part, videora is slow http://www.duke.edu/~ds53/ipodguide.htm)
after u get the VOB files from DVD decrypter, use nero recode to convert (it says burn in the program) the video to an mpeg-4 video. you'll need to tweak the settings a bit:
set the size: select video thent he resize tab and enter 320 for the width and 240 for the height and hit OK. make sure that "Fit to target is not checked. press next
under burn options, choose where u want to save the video file. under nero digital settings, check the expert mode box and look for the encoding method setting. choose 2-pass. next, under advanced, ensure that the "simple Profile" box is checked.
press burn and just add it to ur itunes library like it'a a song.
    whew.
i got these steps from a book btw. if you want to know the name and the details of the book, send me an email ([email protected])
hope this helped (probably will, i have 7 full-length movies on my ipod right now) in case your wondering, the movies are: the fast and the furious, 2 fast 2 furious, fantastic 4, school of rock, spiderman, spiderman 2 and, finally, I,Robot

  • What is the case that comes with the iPod Video?

My Friend just got a Nano and the case that came with is is just like a little sleeve that the iPod slides into....it also has no access to any controls (hold button, Dock connector, Click whell, etc.) and cannont see the screen.. you have to take the ipod out to use it....is it that same thing for the iPod video?
Dell   Windows XP Pro   Future owner of iPod video 30GB or 60GB (5G)

The case that came with my 5th generation black iPod video sounds similar to the one you're describing. It is totally enclosed and the only items that I have access to are the headphone jack (top) and the hold button (also on the top). If I put the iPod into the case upside down I can have access to the usb connector. This isn't meant to be a case for use (other than turning it on and going) but I've been able to push through the case to skip songs, rewind, etc.
So, in short, it's nothing fancy but it has done a good job of protecting my iPod against scratches.

  • Planning to get the ipod video but before I do 1 question?

Is there a way to put your own movies on the ipod video or can you only have the music videos that come off itunes?

Try Nero 6. Nero Recode DVD and Videos to Nero Digital. Make sure you change the Nero Digital Profile to PORTABLE. You can set the audio to 112K, and set video to automatic. After saving in your folder, just click and drag to your iPod. Voila!

  • Is the iPod video supposed to suck out of the box?

I just purchased a brand new 30 GB iPod video and it's awful right out of the box. Everytime I start it up for some reason I get that Apple restart screen but nothing is restarted. When I click on a song under and album it takes 30 seconds to a minute for music to even start and when it does it's two or three songs later than what I actually clicked on. It's also incredibly slow switching songs and menus, especially songs.
I heard the iPod videos can just be like this and many are. Is this true? If so, back to the drawing board, Apple.
Also, is anyone else upset it doesnt support firewire?

I read it now supports firewire but i don't believe it. Well I got a new a 30 Gig Video Ipod too and it works like a charm, you probaly got a defected model, it happens, and if you have a warranty get it replaced because even the limited warranty from apple will take it back if its defected (just don't say you dropped it even if you did).
