Where to specify EJB QL?

Hi,
I wanna try out CMP. But, I do not have any idea where to enter the EJB QL command? I read a book which telling me that we can specify the EJB SL during the deploying process and usually with a tool provided by the application server. But I can find any of this link.
I am using Forthe 4 as my development IDE and i am just using the J2EE server and Pointbase as database.
Can any1 guide me? Thanks in advance.

You would put your EJB QL in your ejb-jar.xml file. It would go in like the following:
<query>
<query-method>
<method-name>findMyDog</method-name>
<method-params></method-params>
</query-method>
<ejb-ql>

SELECT DOG(d) FROM PETS as d

</ejb-ql>
</query>
Also, go get a copy of the O'Reilly publisher's book " Enterprise JavaBeans" by Monson-Haefel. It has some good sections on EJB QL.
Good luck!

This is a very interesting question.
If you set up a tunnel between the BPEL process (client) and your async invoicing service, you will notice that the BPEL Engine will automatically add a WS-Addressing header to the SOAP request that is sent to the invoice service. That WS-addressing header includes both the callback location (the location where the invoice service) as well as the correlation id that the invoice service need to send back to the engine. The invoice service will need to add a WS-addressing header to the callback invocation so that the BPEL engine knows how to match a callback message to a specific in-flight instance. Does this make sense?
Once you have this running, would you be interested in writing a small article on this so that we can publish it on OTN and may be integrate the sample into the product?

• Where to specify vpn port?

I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.4 and trying to use the built-in VPN client (under Network in System Preferences). When trying to connect to the remote VPN server, I get the error: The VPN server did not respond. Verify the server address and try reconnecting.
I was given a VPN server name *and port number* by the VPN administrators at the site I'm trying to connect to. I'm able to put in the VPN server name and other authentication configuration in the System Preferences VPN configuration panel but not the destination port number.
I can see that when I initiate the connection, the destination port my machine is trying to connect to is 500. The remote VPN server is listening on port 443. This explains why I'm getting the connection error.
Can someone tell me how/where to specify the destination port number?

Thank you both for the reply. Yes, I had tried that but it didn't work - I get a different error - that the server cannot be found. So it seems that when I try that, it thinks the :443 is part of the server name instead of a port specification.

Just curious if anyone had any resources on where to start out on this.
We have a handheld phone system our material handlers use that is radio based. They were working fine for a while but for some reason we are getting a ton of static over the system now. I don't know much about radio systems but I'm always looking for something new to nerd out on and was curious if anyone had any suggestions on where to start to track down the source of this interference and figure out a way to fix it.
Any advice is greatly appreciated

• How & where to specify mapping between an error code and resource

Hi,
I am interested in providing customized HTML page for errors such as 404 and 500. How do I achieve this? and where specify this.
Regards
Arun

As far as I know, you can use your own page to be an error page while using JSP. This is specified in header of JSP: <%@ page errorPage="errorPage.jsp" %> (I don't know details about servlet, but probably it's similar). This page is also JSP page, and inside you can use code such as exception.getMessage(), maybe different one. Rest is some lazy programming stuff. This concerns JSPs, for other situations I have no advice.

• Where to put EJB design patterns?

Im considering where to put the EJB design pattern classes and files.
i.e. Facade, Data Access Objects, Transfer Objects, Delegate...
I was thinking since the EJB business logics and implementation should be hidden from the user, then it is more logical to place these classes at the webapp.war inside of the ejb.jar.
What are your thoughts guys?

Photoshop patterns and normally stored in sets the set files have an extension of .pat. You may also add individual patterns using menu Edit>Define Pattern. In some Photoshop Pattern dialog you will see a little gear icon to open a Fly-Out menu in that menu there is a entry for Photoshop Preset Manager. The are also other ways to get into the Preset manager. In the preset manager you can manage many types of presets. Using its pull-down menu select patterns. You can Load an save patterns sets. To save a set tou heed to hilifht the paterns yoy want to include in the set. You can also delete and rename patterns.

• Servermgrd: Where to specify DNS for server?

Been having a lot of trouble with Mac OS X Server 10.4.11 (running on PowerMac G5, 2 GHz, 2.5 Gb of RAM) the last few days. Some recurring log items I see are:
Jun 26 07:40:55 GBG-Server servermgrd: servermgr_dns: no name available via DNS for 172.16.1.64
Jun 26 07:40:55 GBG-Server servermgrd: servermgr_dns: no reverse DNS entry for server, various services may not function properly
I am not using the DNS service within OS X Server, it's a standalone that hosts a few databases and afp:// file sharing. Where does a person specify the "DNS" referred to in the log entries above??

Hi
Leif is absolutely correct in what he says, however if all you want the Server to do is host AFP and/or SMB shares you don't need internal DNS services. Admittedly things do work better with them but if you can ignore the warnings in the log it should not affect anything.
If the Server is supposed to be or may want to be an OD Master then you really must address the problem otherwise you don't really have an LDAP Server and it will cause you problems.
If you are not having any problems and things are working as they should be, ignore the logs and leave things as they are. Think of it a bit like going out on a sunny day and being warned by everyone you meet that it may rain later on and to take an umbrella with you. Not a great analogy I know but you get the point?

• Eclipse: Where To Specify Classpaths?

One of my Eclipse project's has a PlayerLoader class which uses
Class.forName().newInstance(). Sometimes the class will be loading a
class which is defined in another project. Where in eclipse do I
specify to the current project where it should search to find these loaded classes?
1. The classpath tab of the "Run..." menu for the current project?
2. The "Libraries" tab of the "Java Build Path" section in the project
properties?
3. The "Projects" tab of the "Java Build Path" section (check the
project where the loaded class is defined)?
I'd also appreciate any explanation about the differences in the
above.
TIA,
John

Any or all of the above :-)
I normally do it on Project Properties.
"Projects" tab if it is being currently worked on (ie will change, and thus needs to be reloaded)
"Libraries" tab if it is a jar file on disk.

• Where does the ejb store the state

hi all,
where does the statefull session store the state in
between multiple methods invocations of the client.
In which format it will store

Where and in what format stateful session state is stored is an implementation detail of the container.
In many cases passivation will not take place at all, so the session bean state is simply stored in
memory between invocations. If passivation does take place, the container is allowed to store the
passivated state anywhere it likes. Many implementations provide configuration that determines where
the state is stored. In SUN's implementations, the deployer can choose between a file system store,
a high availability database, or in-memory replication.
The important thing is that the application code does not have to concern itself with most of these
details. All you need to do as a developer is ensure that the bean class state conforms to the
contracts for Serializability. The exact rules are covered in Section 4.2.1 of the EJB 3.0 spec.

• VECTOR: Can't Locate Where to Specify Content Type

Hi all. I'm confused with warning from compiler. I'm specifying methods for swing TableModel using vector data and it always shows me unchecked call to set as a member of raw type (method setValueAt). I just have no idea how to cast type there. The code is below:
import java.util.Vector;
public class SSCCE {
public static void main(String[] args){
new dk_MF();
class dk_MF{
dk_MF(){ constructTable();  }
public void constructTable(){
Vector<Vector> bigvec = getTabData();
Vector smallvec = (Vector) bigvec.elementAt(0).clone();
bigvec.remove(0);
Model MM = new Model(bigvec,smallvec);
System.out.println(MM.getValueAt(0,0)); }
public Vector<Vector> getTabData(){
Vector<Vector> bv = new Vector<Vector>();
Vector<String> sv = new Vector<String>();
sv.add("one"); sv.add("two");
bv.add((Vector)sv.clone());
bv.add((Vector)sv.clone());
sv.clear();
return bv; }
class Model {
private Vector columnNames = null;
private Vector data = null;
public Object getValueAt(int row, int col){
return ((Vector) data.elementAt(row)).elementAt(col); }
public void setValueAt(Object value, int row, int col) {
((Vector) data.elementAt(row)).set(col, value);  }
public void createNewTable(Vector b, Vector s) {
data = (Vector) b.clone();
columnNames = (Vector) s.clone();  }
Model(Vector big, Vector small) {
createNewTable(big,small);
}

Thanks for the tip on casting problem! But now I'm back to the starting point. OK, I have a Vector of Vectors of Arbitrary Data: Vector<Vector<?>>. I've done all this description in the code (below). But this cursed "unchecked call to set" remains.
What, actually, this "unchecked call" means? Why casting ((Vector) data.elementAt(row)) at getValueAt does not get a warning?
P.S. I've tryed to put Vector<?> (caused error) and Vector (warning) in setValueAt, but this did not help!
import java.util.Vector;
public class SSCCE {
public static void main(String[] args){
new dk_MF();
class dk_MF{
dk_MF(){ constructTable();  }
public void constructTable(){
Vector<Vector<?>> bigvec = getTabData();
Vector smallvec = (Vector) bigvec.elementAt(0).clone();
bigvec.remove(0);
Model MM = new Model(bigvec,smallvec);
System.out.println(MM.getValueAt(0,0)); }
public Vector<Vector<?>> getTabData(){
Vector<Vector<?>> bv = new Vector<Vector<?>>();
Vector<String> sv = new Vector<String>();
sv.add("one"); sv.add("two");
bv.add(new Vector<String>(sv));
bv.add(new Vector<String>(sv));
sv.clear();
return bv; }
class Model {
private Vector columnNames = null;
private Vector data = null;
public Object getValueAt(int row, int col){
return ((Vector) data.elementAt(row)).elementAt(col); }
public void setValueAt(Object value, int row, int col) {
((Vector) data.elementAt(row)).set(col, value);  }
public void createNewTable(Vector b, Vector s) {
data = (Vector) b.clone();
columnNames = (Vector) s.clone();  }
Model(Vector big, Vector small) {

• AS2: Where to specify certificates and keys: CC or Receiver Agreement

Hello,
when configuring a AS2 scenario (Proxy - AS2 Receiver) I am wondering about configuration details for certificates.
In the AS2 receiver configuration channel I can enter:
SSL Certificates
Server Certificate (Keystore)
Private Key for Client Authentification
In receiver agreement I can enter:
AS2 Sender Configuration
Signing Key
AS2 Receiver Configuration
EncryptionCertificate
So I am not sure what to configure where? I am right that transport level security is done in the communication channel, and message level security in the receiver agreement?
If I use SSL without client authentification in combination with Digital Signature I have to enter Server Certificate of parter in communication channel and Signing Key in Receiver Agreement, right?
Sorry, maybe this was a little bit confusing.

Hi,
you need to configure certificates in receiver agreement. I did it quite long back.. You need to enter some alias name of certificates over there.
Once you open the Receiver agreement, you can easily figure it out.
Thanks

• Where to specify that the BOM component is a By-Product.

I have a scenario.
1. We are using Repetitive Manufacturing processs
2. getting Six materials as Co-Products, those are to be relevant for costing.
3. Three more items also coming out of Process as By-Products (this will also be a part of BOM).
Could any one suggest me where to mark the items as By-Product..
I got the indicator for Co-Product but not for By-product.
Could any one please help on this one.
Thanks and Regards
KAM

Hi,
On SCM-PP forum your chance is higher to get answer for this question.
There's no indicator for by-product > just write it with negative qty in BOM. That's all. It can be automatically confirmed via mvt 531 - even you can assign it to operation.

• How to add a watermark in smartform ............where to specify

pls lemme know

Hi,
 Specify the name of the graphic as well as its description (object and ID). The default values are GRAPHICS and BMAP. The F4 help allows you to view which graphics are available in the system.
 Determine whether it is a black and white picture or a color picture.
 Hint: You can also select the background picture dynamically by entering fields instead of static names which must have a value assigned to them at runtime. Of course, this procedure is not suitable for redrawing templates since you need the preview in the Form Painter for such a task.
 Under Output attributes, you can specify the resolution in dpi (dots per inch). The smaller the value, the larger the graphic is displayed in the form. If you leave the field blank or enter 000, the default setting of the graphic is used.
 The output mode allows you to determine whether the background picture should only be displayed in the Form Builder (which makes sense if you redraw a scanned form that you do not want to print) or whether the picture should be included in the actual form processing process. You can choose between Print preview or Print preview and print. Nevertheless, you can still decide from within the print preview (before the request is sent to the spool) whether you want to print the background picture or not.
 You must also determine the horizontal and the vertical position of the background picture with regard to the page border.
 Update the preview of the Form Painter by choosing Enter on the maintenance screen
Hope this helps.
Reward if helpful.
