Whether java run in UNIX can call java run in win NT?

Hi,
I want to create a Java class run in Unix and this class will create a socket call to another Java class which is run in Window NT platform, Is it possible to do that ?
Is it have same java coding to have socket call in UNIX enviroment ? when the data is text string , is it possible for the java program in window NT read the same text string after it receive it from the socket ?

It should be entirely possible.
If you wrap the streams in an ObjectInputStream and ObjectOutputStream you can just send and recieve a string as a Java object via serialization.

do you mean firing off a shell command, or making actual kernel API calls or C library calls?
for shell commands, have a look at Runtime.exec(). for kernel calls, use JNI. the JNI FAQ mentions something called "shared stubs" that may be of use:

If there is a command line tool then you use Runtime.exec() otherwise you have to use JNI.
If you want to access shared libraries you might want to look at www.swig.org

If your server does not return to the command prompt, write a java programm which starts your server and returns to the command prompt.

How to check whether Java 3d is using hardware acceleration?

I just started looking into Java3d api. I am going through the tutorial examples. When I run it on Windows with JDK1.4.2, the app runs, but taskmanager shows cpu usage is around 55% of my 3GHz Intel processor.
I am sending the following VM parameters
-Djava.library.path=C:\progra~1\Java\Java3D\bin -Dj3d.rend=ogl -Dj3d.debug=true
I tried Direct3D as well by passing -Dj3d.rend=d3d. I don't see much difference in cpu usage. The sample I am playing is the one where you create a ColorCube and rotate it on a timeline. Pretty straight forward code taken from the tutorial.
I am wondering
a) Why is my cpu at 55% if it is using h/w acceleration?
b) Is there any way to find out whether Java is using software renderer vs h/w renderer.
I used sys internals processexp tool to look at the stack of java thread that is spinning the cube. I don't see any references to opengl or j3d dlls in the call stack.

Cannot run java application in Win XP

I worte a java application(a Swing app), I test it and run under win NT, it works fine for me.
Then I recompile it in my WinXP using j2sdk1.4.1_02, run it in a command prompt, but it does NOT start up the application, I check the window task manager, a java.exe already startup and it eat up 100% CPU of my XP, but the application never been startup.
My Swing application is not a JApplet but a JFrame.
Does anyone have the similiar problem?

Try adjusting your path settings to stop using the MS VM (did you recently use win update?):
My Computer->Properties -> Advanced -> Environment Variables
System Variables -> "Path"
If it currently starts with:
%SystemRoot%\system32;...
change it to:
.;%JAVA_HOME%\bin;%SystemRoot%\system32;...
If you haven't set JAVA_HOME, create a new variable like:
JAVA_HOME = C:\j2sdk1.4.1_02
Note that using the ".;" before path makes the current dir's executables take prevalence over a same-named executable in a subsequent path.
Putting "%JAVA_HOME%\bin" before "%SystemRoot%\system32" makes certain that the current java.exe gets used (not Micro$oft's java.exe)

The way I developed my first app for the Compaq iPAQ
1. Install PersonalJava
2. Build app using AWT classes only (although I think SWING can be used)
3. Screen size 240 x 295 (thats what I used)
4. Compile and run on PC
5. Move to PPC (fingers crossed)
6. You may want to add an app.LNK file (kinda like a *.bat file) to setup classpath and file args

Also make sure you don't use classes/methods that aren't supported
There is a PJava emulkation environment, but I never used it.

Adobe does not provide such a capability. Folks have created ways to call
Java I believe, and ExternalInterface will call JavaScript. And you can use
sockets. And NativeProcess from AIR apps.

HELP!!! How I can call to EJB from another EJB??

I have two EJBs, for each EJB I have a jar, how I can call to EJB jar to another???
I have tried the following, in the first EJB I have import the second EJB jar and call it with context, lookup, PortableRemoteObject etc.. but the instruction lookup not find the second EJB reference.
The name in the lookup instruction is the JNDI name of the second EJB but not find a reference to it.

Here as you can see, EJB1LogBean(session bean) is calling a second EJB, EJB2LogBean (entity bean). TestVal is a sample value object passed. It is plain java class and can vary from app to app and it has got nothing to do with ejbs.
"java:comp/env/ejb" is a J2EE standard and while getting a home interface, you have to append the home interface class name to "java:comp/env/ejb". Here I am passing "java:comp/env/ejb/EJB2LogHome" and "1" to getHome method, whose job is to get a reference to a home interface. getHome method is a local method. "1" is passed just to give a flexibility to getHome method as you can have more ejbs to invoked. In that case, you can go on adding different case statements for 2, 3 etc.
The only thing you have to keep in mind is that your deployment descriptor for EJB1LogBean will contain the entires for both the beans i.e. for EJB1LogBean and EJB2LogBean. This is because EJB2LogBean is wrapped by EJB1LogBean.

well the reason I wanted to talk to someone live because it would take forever to explain everything on here But anyway, here goes. I have an HP Pavilion Notebook with Intel Core i5-323om CPU @2.60 GHz and 8 gb ram 64bit. I am trying to run Lightroom 5.7 on my laptop and having major issues. I use an external hard drive for the storage of my photos. When I try to use Lightroom I run into many issues: Flickering of the screen, freezing up, slow, the loading circle just goes round and round lol. If I go to the washroom or leave the computer for even a minute it freezes up. I have to keep pressing Ctr/alt/delete to bring it back when it flickers. I have to constantly exit out of the program and restart it to be able to edit even just a couple of photos and then it starts acting up again.
I have tried un-installing and re-installing, updating everything on my pc, changing compatibility settings, updating development settings, I even took the laptop into have it looked at and they did all kinds of updates etc...and still couldn't figure out why it wasn't working for me. I have gone through the lists of troubleshooting for LR problems and there just seem to be nothing that works.....I have made new catalogues, moved them, tried using the software on my pc without the EHD, etc etc.......I have tried EVERYTHING...I think.....so I was looking for some answers as to why this is happening....

Assuming the local swing application is running, and you have an applet in the browser that has permissions to communicate with a server other than the originating server, you could use RMI or a regular socket connection.
Due to the obvious security issues to letting javascript or an applet free access to the local machine, this is not something that a browser really supports.

In MTO scenario with Planning strategy group 20 in material master .
After sales order is created, Run MRP , then planned order will be created then go to planned order details in MD04 or MD12 you will get sales order number in assigment tab.
or check the Table PLAF field PALTR ,and field name KDAUF its sales order, for all created planned order.

An iPad is a tablet, not a phone, they do have plans, it's called an iPhone....
While it has celluar data this isn't hte same as a celluar line or ability to make phones, can you imagine how stupid you'd look with a tablet against your ear?
