Which folder was last modified?

Hello,
We copied user data to new server from the old server. There was a two servers with similar folder name. And unfortunately, we copied the data from the wrong server. Both servers are running 2008R2.
I need to make a re-copy from correct "old" server to new server and I must tell which of these two folders was the one last used. Is Date Modified timestamp 100% accurate way to tell which folder was last modified?

Date Modified is the accurate way to know when were the contents modified. When you modify anything inside the folder the date modified attribute of the folder gets changed. You can try this on your computer.
One root folder on our server shows Date Modified date is 1st January, but browsing the folder reveals subfolder with a file, which has Date Modified timestamp 1st February.
When you modify the contents within a folder, the date modified timestamp changes for that folder, however you cannot see the timestamp changed if that folder is within a parent folder. (i mean you cannot see the actual datemodified timestamp for parent
folder).

    No, you can use the FileSystemObject to get a list of the
    files in the directory. See if you can adapt this for your site:

  • On a MBP with Mavericks how do I get the Save As dialog box to open at the same size and place at which it was last closed and used to happen before Mavericks?

    Before I upgraded my MBP to Mavericks, the Save As dialog box would reopen at the same size and position as it was when last closed.  Now with Mavericks it always opens in the same position at a very small size.  Is there a way to make it reopen at the last place and size at which it was closed?

    I have resolved the issues presented without having to find and uninstall the Macromedia Flash Player 8.0 in order to get "Adobe Flash Player 10" playback of .swf files on my computer. When I begin this task, I expected to download an "Adobe Flash Player 10" as a player program download instead of the Internet Explorer and Firefox plugin that it appears to be.
    This is what I did and what I believe I have:
    1. I setup Internet Explorer 6 as my default browser and then used the following site to download Adobe Flash Player 10
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
    2. As I had done before (and also suggested in another thread here), I went to Tools/Manage Add Ons and found Shockwave Flash Object, highlighted it, and clicked on Update Active X. Next, what I did not do before, I restarted the computer immediately after that.
    3. Next, I set Mozilla Firefox as my default browser and then used the above site to download Adobe Flash Player 10 again.
    4. With Firefox, the critical step included Firefox Tools/Options/Content with File Types (Configure how Firefox handles certain types of files) and the Manage Tab there. SWF Shockware Flash Object/Change Action/and dotting "use this plugin" - Shockwave Flash, followed by a computer restart got the job done.
    Now, if I want playback of a .swf file, I can
    a. Open With Internet Explorer (assumed with the Adobe Flash 10 "plugin")
    b. Open With Mozilla Firefox (assumed with the Adobe Flash 10 "plugin")
    c. Open With Macromedia Flash Player 8.0
    I am satisfied with those results for my use. Any additional comments on the player vs plugin aspect of the matter would be interesting and helpful.

  • Checking when a database was last modified

    Hi everyone,
    I've got an sql database with a few tables in it which are tied to a web service I have running.
    Thing is, when I invoke my web service (through a browser window), which is fine, the web service updates the database every time, even if the data hasn't changed (the data is football fixtures read off a different web page). This is fine from and end-user point of view, but database access is taking place even when it's not necessary.
    My question is, is there a way of accessing an sql database and only updating it if it hasn't been updated within, say, the last day? How can you check for this?
    Thanks!

    Add a last update time to an existing table or a new table. Check it before updating it.
    Of course it is a lot more efficient just to not do the updates as often.

  • Finder doesn't show correct "last modified" dates

    For the longest time, the Tiger Finder has not always shown the correct "last modified" dates for files. Is there any fix or workaround for this?
    Frequently, if I'm working in a folder with a bunch of files in it, and working in each individual file, and viewing the folder in list view, the modified date for each file will not update as I work on the file. Even if I close and reopen the folder, it won't update. Sometimes when I click on an individual file, the date will update. Other times not. If I use "Get Info" to look at the file, then I see its true last modified date.
    I believe this used to be a problem in prior OS's too, and someone recommended a little contextual menu plug-in called "Nudge" to me. I went looking for that, found it, and installed it, but it doesn't do what I want. Now if I "nudge" a file, the Finder instantly marks it as modified right that second. That's not what I want. I need to know the last time the file was TRULY last modified, and I need it to show up immediately.
    I work with a large quantity of files and part of the management scheme is figuring out, at a glance, when each file was last modified, so I can keep track of their development.

    Hi folks,
    This issue has been driving me crazy, and I've been searching everywhere for a solution... today I am happy to report that I found one!
    Limit Point Software has just released a great utility for dealing with this issue where folders have their "Date Modified" altered after you just opened the folder.
    It is called "SyncFF" and you can download at:
    http://www.limit-point.com/Utilities.html
    Here is the product description:
    SyncFF is a drop utility for setting the modification and creation date of folders to the latest modification date of their contained files. This way the modification date of the folder matches the modification date of the "oldest" file it contains. The process is recursive, which implies all subfolders are processed too. Universal Binary, Mac OS X 10.4 and above.
    It works wonderfully, and it is so nice to have the proper modification dates on my folders and projects again.
    I should also say that the developer is very helpful and responsive to feedback.

  • Putting Date Last Modified on PDF

    Is there a way to put the date last modified on a PDF using Javascript? I am trying to organize a folder of PDF maps and the only way I can think of to do it is to print out each map with its file name and date last modified (so we can come back to the folder and delete the duplicates and the really old ones).
    The wonderful thread Print File Name with PDF Document has helped me figure out how to put the file name and current date into each pdf as a footer, but when I tried to edit the code to get the date last modified, I get an error.
    I will admit that I am a newbie when it comes to Javascript, so any suggestions would be extremely helpful.
    My code is as follows:
    // SetRemoveFooter
    app.addSubMenu({ cName: "Footer",cUser: "Set/Remove Footer", cParent: "File", nPos: 20 });
    app.addMenuItem({ cName: "Set Date Time (Filename)", cParent: "Footer", cExec: "SetFooter(1)"});
    app.addMenuItem({ cName: " -> Set Date .... centered", cParent: "Footer", cExec: "SetFooter(2)"});
    app.addMenuItem({ cName: " -> Set Date .... right", cParent: "Footer", cExec: "SetFooter(3)"});
    app.addMenuItem({ cName: "Set Page ", cParent: "Footer", cExec: "SetFooter(4)"});
    app.addMenuItem({ cName: "Set Both", cParent: "Footer", cExec: "SetFooter(5)"});
    app.addMenuItem({ cName: "-------------------------------", cParent: "Footer",cExec: "{}"});
    app.addMenuItem({ cName: "Remove Both", cParent: "Footer", cExec: "RemoveFooter(5)"});
    app.addMenuItem({ cName: "Remove Date Time (Filename)", cParent: "Footer", cExec: "RemoveFooter(1)"});
    app.addMenuItem({ cName: "Remove Page", cParent: "Footer", cExec: "RemoveFooter(4)"});
    //Set/remove Footer
    function SetFooter(ARG)
    var FileNM = this.documentFileName
    var AcDate = document.lastModified
    var AcDateFormat = "yyyy/mmm/dd HH:MM"
    var Box2Width = 50
    for (var p = 0; p < this.numPages; p++)
    var aRect = this.getPageBox("Crop",p);
    var TotWidth = aRect[2] - aRect[0]
    if (ARG<=3 || ARG==5)
    {var fd = this.addField("xftDate", "text", p, [30,15, TotWidth-30-30,30]);
    fd.value = util.printd(AcDateFormat, AcDate) + " (" + FileNM +")";
    fd.textSize=6; fd.readonly = true;
    if (ARG==1){ fd.alignment="left" };
    if (ARG==2){ fd.alignment="center" };
    if (ARG==3){ fd.alignment="right" };
    if (ARG==4 || ARG==5)
    {var bStart=(TotWidth/2)-(Box2Width/2)
    var bEnd=((TotWidth/2)+(Box2Width/2))
    var fp = this.addField(String("xftPage"+p+1), "text", p, [bStart,30,bEnd,15]);
    fp.value = "Page: " + String(p+1)+ "/" + this.numPages;
    fp.textSize=6; fp.readonly = true;
    fp.alignment="center";
    function RemoveFooter(ARG)
    if (ARG<=3 || ARG==5) {var x = this.removeField("xftDate");}
    if (ARG==2 || ARG==5) {for (var p = 0; p < this.numPages; p++)
    var x = this.removeField(String("xftPage"+p+1)); }
    Everything worked wonderfully until I added the line var AcDate = document.lastModified
    Is there a simple solution or is this a much more complicated problem?
    Thanks!

    You need to use:
    this.info.ModDate
    To get the date the opened PDF was last modified.

  • Change the FIND display from LAST OPENED to LAST MODIFIED.

    When I search for a folder/file, I want to sort by date and view when the folder/file was LAST MODIFIED. I find LAST OPENED to be useless. Someone in the Dept. may have opened a file just to see what it was, but so what. That tells me nothing about the time frame when the file was created or worked on.
    For instance I want to find the most recent logo for joe's muffler shop. I search for "joe's muffler" and find several items. What looks to be the most recent (OPENED "yesterday") was actually MODIFIED in June 25, 2004.
    How can I change a spotlight Find to show me the last MODIFIED date?

    AFAIK, you can't. See http://www.pinkmutant.com/articles/Leopard/leospot.html and http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/stopspotlightindex.html then my mod to Finder's Find at http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20080229204517495 for what you can change so you can find stuff excluded by the default structure.

  • ColdFusion - Page Last Modified?

  • Class last modified

    Is there any way, during run-time, to get the date when a class was last modified? Specifically, a servlet class.

    What would you expect the change date of the file to be if one copies the file from one system to another?
    Version control systems usually have a key/variable/macro syntax which will replace text in a text file with a value that is relevant to the version control system, like the author, last update date, etc. If you use that carefully and create a static final string in your class to hold the information it might suffice.

  • Saving form last modified in LiveCycle Designer as PDF version 1.4

    I have a PDF fillable form that was last modified/saved in LiveCycle Designer. The PDF is currently version 1.7, but I need to reduce it to version 1.4 (for compatibility reasons). The way I normally do this is to open the PDF in Acrobat and use the optimizer to save it down to version 1.4, but with this form I'm getting a message that says "The PDF document contains an Adobe XML form. Such files cannot be optimized." I downloaded the trial version of Designer ES4, but I'm not having any luck taking it down to version 1.4. Does anyone know if  it's possible to save down this kind of PDF to version 1.4?

    LiveCycle PDFs aren't normal Acrobat PDFs, they're an XML file with a wrapper - that's why you can't optimize them.
    You can't save to specific PDF versions, but you can change the target version of the form from Designer. I'm not sure what options Designer ES4 gives you but under the Defaults tab of File>Form Properties you can change the Target Version - I'm using ES2 can can change the compatibility back to Acrobat 7.0.5 (PDF 1.6).

  • Know an extension that searches for the file "last modified" date?

    I am working on a site with 80,000 pages and need to find an
    extension that will search all files within the site and populate
    the date each file was last modified. Know of an extension that
    will assist in this situation? Any ideas will help, thanks in

    Ahh, so now your requirements are changing. You do not want a
    simple
    text file output after all, but instead a sortable list. So
    perhaps
    output as a csv that could be sorted within a spreadsheet.
    Altho 80000
    rows?
    It is a bit hard to believe that an organization with an
    80000 page
    website does not have inhouse gurus who could do this in a
    heart beat.

  • Get # of Days since last modified

    Is there anyway to have a number column that shows the number of days since the item or page was last updated? I was hoping to use a calculated column where [Today]-[Modified] but that doesn't work. A workflow wouldn't work because it would have to keep
    continuously running to keep that column updated.  Any ideas?
    Thanks.
    Nick Hurst

    We ended up finding some posts online suggesting using Jquery to display this information on the page.  You can put this code in your page layout to display the number of days since the page was last modified or any date field you have associated
    with the page.
    What we ended up doing was creating a calculated field to just grab a date field (in our case the column 'ReviewDate') and put it in the proper format:
    =TEXT([ReviewDate],"MM/DD/YYYY")
    Then we added a div to the page layout that has this date but is not displayed on the page:
    <div class="review-date-text" style="display:none;">
            <SharePoint:CalculatedField FieldName="ReviewDateDisplay" runat="server" ControlMode="Display"/>
    </div>
    Here's the code, I'm not a developer so there are probably better ways to do this but I was able to piece this together from a couple different posts:
    //The following gets the number of days since article was reviewed and writes the value into a right col div
    //Gets Todays date and format it as date
    var today = new Date();
    var dd = today.getDate();
    var mm = today.getMonth();
    var yyyy = today.getFullYear();
    if(dd<10) {
    dd='0'+dd
    if(mm<10) {
    mm='0'+mm
    var todaysDate = new Date(yyyy,mm,dd);
    //Finds the text value of the review date
    //The review date is in the review-date-text div
    var reviewdatetext = jQuery(".review-date-text").text();
    var reviewdatetext = jQuery.trim(reviewdatetext);
    //Parses the review date and formats as a new date
    var dateParts = reviewdatetext.split('/')
    var reviewyear = dateParts[2];
    var reviewday = dateParts[1];
    var reviewmonth = dateParts[0]-1;//January is 0!
    var reviewDate = new Date(reviewyear,reviewmonth,reviewday);
    //Finds the number of days difference between today and review date
    oneDay = 24*60*60*1000; // hours*minutes*seconds*milliseconds
    var diffDays = Math.round(Math.abs((todaysDate.getTime() - reviewDate.getTime())/(oneDay)));
    //Appends the number of days to the review-date div in the right column
    jQuery("<div class='Custom-Date-Review'>"+diffDays+" days ago</div>").appendTo("#review-date");
    Works great for us, hope that helps someone else.

  • Last modified time of a folder

    Hi All,
    We have a requirement wherein we want to know if there was any change made to any of the messages present in a folder after a particular time. The changes can be anything like marking the message as read/unread/delete or if there was a new message etc. So is there a way from which I can know the last modified time of the folder. Or is there any other way this can be achieved.
    Rgrds,
    Nitin.

    Alternatively, we have another method called "Change Notifications" to asynchronously identify any changes to the messages in the folders. This functionality is available in Sun Messaging Server. I m not sure about the other mail servers.
    For example, when user deletes a message from the mail store, then we will get a 'delete notification' to the queue with the message UID that got deleted. And if there is a flag state change, then we will get a flag notifications etc, Hope this helps you.
    Thanks

    If you mean the drop marker then you can still get the History of the Back and Forward buttons if any by either Left-Click and hold for a second or by Right-Clicking them.
    If you still want the drop mark there also then there is this Extension at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/backforward-dropmarker/
