Which JDK to install weblogic 10.3.3 in Linux 64 bit machine.

I jave a Linux 64 bit box. I am trying to find out suitable java env for installing weblogic. JDK 64 bit, downloaded from Sun, is raising noClassDefFound for java/lang/object. Not sure if my platform is not correct or that .bin file is wrong. Can I use jrockit for installation?

I tried installing 10.3.2 on 64 bit linux with the Sun JDK and had issues (smart update didn't work). I retried with JRockit and it installed just fine and smart update worked. I haven't created any domains though as I'm planning on installing OEM Grid 11g on it.

  • Install Captivate 4 on Windows 7 64-bit machine with Windows XP mode?

    Hi,
I have been searching the web to find out the best way/place in which to load Captivate 4 on my Windows 7 64-bit machine. Seems some people have issues with recording, others don't. I have Windows XP mode on my machine.
My question is... what's the best way to load Captivate 4 on Windows 7 - should I install to Windows 7 and see how it goes. Or should I install under Windows XP mode?
    Thank you!
    Michele

Yea it works in XP mode

Try running Cp4 in WinXp compatibility mode on Win7.  Also make sure
you're set to Run as Administrator.
I run Cp4 on Win7 without issues.  But other users report similar problems
to yourself.  In the end, it may or may not work for you because Adobe has
never claimed Cp4 was compatible with Vista or Win7 64bit.

  • Install Forms and Reports 6i on 64 bits machine

    Hello,
It is possible to install Forms and Reports 6i on 64 bits machine?
    How it is done?
    Thank you.
    Best Regards
    Rute

Forms is a 32 bit application so you need to do what
you normally do for the platform in question when you
install and run in 32 bit emulation. Please, can you explain how to do it on the windows 2003 x64 machine?

  • Fetal error while installing weblogic server 12c on windows 64 bit

    Dear all,
i have windows7 64bit, oracle 11g database, and my java version as i enter the JAVA -VERSION command at the cmd prompt is below
    C:\Users\Administrator>java -version
    java version "1.4.2_06"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_06-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_06-b03, mixed mode)i want to install weblogic server generic wls1211_generic.jar.
    when i enter the command
    java -Xmx1024m -jar wls1211_generic.jar
    or
    java -Xmx1206m -jar wls1211_generic.jar
it try to open the installation but give a fatal error like below
A fatal error occured, this application will terminate.
    any idea?

    Hi,
i did the same as you said, i.e i add this path to the PATH variable C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.7.0
add the bin directory to this path, so you should have C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.7.0\bintest it in the command prompt with java -version and it should prompt you java 1.7
also be sure the generic jar is not corrupted.
and one more thing you should use this command to install with generic jar:
    java -jar wls1211_generic.jar

    Two issues now
    1) How do I get rid of weblogic from my machine manually so that I can do fresh install of 10.3.5?
    2) How do I confirm if it is completely removed because after doing the complete SOA suite installation process, JDeveloper throws me errors that it is not compatible with 10.3.6
Appreciate your help in this regard

    Hi
I am glad your original issue is resolved. For this new SOA installation, you can post a new thread and preferably in SOA Forums and not here in WLS Forums for quicker response: SOA Suite
    1. To begin with, looks like you have a 64 bit machine, so I would recommend first to install 64 bit JDK. Then install Weblogic using weblogic generic installer (.jar). This means if you already have WLS installed using .exe, you may have to delete that and start over.
    2. Worst case even if you want to continue as it is (32 bit), the location of java is kind of not ok having a space in one of the folder names like "Program Files". And is this java installed by you or did it came with machine and if so. If came with machine it will be older version.
I would recommend, uninstall existing JDK and install fresh latest JDK in a path something like shown below that do not have any spaces:
    1. C:\Oracle\Java\jdk1.6.0_24_64Bit = Will have JDK 64 bit
    2. C:\Oracle\Middleware116BPM = Will have WLS 10.3.6. Here you install SOA later on
    3. C:\Oracle\Middleware\Jdeveloper116 = Will have JDeveloper 11.6 installed here.
Now, coming to your actual installation error, do NOT use this command "setup -jreLoc %JAVA_HOME%". Instead just double click on Setup.exe or open a dos window, navigate to that folder and just type setup.exe. The point is do not give -jreLoc. NOW it will prompt to enter full JDK Path. Here you carefuly type full jdk path something like this "C:\Oracle\Java\jdk1.6.0_24_32Bit" (this is on my side...). It should work now.
Caution. While installing any oracle software do not use folder names with spaces. Like c:\Program Files\ etc. Spaces in folder names may be an issue. So avoid that.
Since you are starting all this fresh, I would recommend doing it in the right and correct way to avoid any future issues. It may take few hours of extra time that is totally worth.

  • Installing BO XI R2 on a 64 bits machine

    Hi all,
I have to installed BO XI R2 on a win 2003 server with AMD Opteron processors. The OS is 64 bits. But somewhere in file called "Platforms.txt", inside the documentation of the BO XI CD, it wrote that BO technical support, does not support the BO XI installation on a 64 bits machine.
If it is true, I want to know if, it is still true. Because time passed, and maybe now BO technical support, are now supporting the installs on 64 bits machine.

From what I can tell 64bit hardware is starting to be supported in XIR1/R2
Here is a guideline (note this is subject to change).
Don't ask me to fill in the blanks I didn't write this statement.
"There has been considerable confusion regarding what is and what is not supported in terms of 64-bit operating systems and 64-bit chipsets for BOE, CRS, and CVS.  The list below reflects the current definitive answer for XI R1 and XI R2.The following are the supported and not supported OS/chipset combinations for BOE, CRS and CVS w/ regard to 64-bit OS and 64-bit chipsets: Windows 32-bit on 64-bit AMD/Intel chipset:  supported for BOE, CRS, and CVSWindows 64-bit:  not supportedLinux (Red Hat and SUSE) 32-bit on 64-bit AMD/Intel chipset:  supported for BOE, CRS, and CVSLinux (Red Hat and SUSE) 64-bit:  not supportedSun SPARC 64-bit:  supported for BOE (BOE runs as a 32-bit app)IBM AIX RISC 64-bit:  supported for BOE (BOE runs as a 32-bit app)HP-UX** on PA-RISC 64-bit:  supported for BOE (BOE runs as a 32-bit app)No other chipset architectures (including Itanium) for any of the above OS are supported whether the OS is 32-bit or 64-bit. The database client drivers used by BOE, CRS, and CVS must also be 32-bit, but the database server software, OS, chipset, hardware, and little LED light that let's you know whether the server is powered on or not can be whatever the database vendor supports.**  HP-UX is only supported by BOE XI R2"

  • How to install Photoshop 5 in Windows 7 64 bit machine

My Windows XP laptop quit.  New laptop is Windows 7 64 bit machine.  When I install Photoshop CD and select Install Photoshop 5, nothing happens.  I found this link: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5162
but I cannot open it.  The instructions with it say to copy into Files (x86\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop, but since I cannot get Photoshop 5 to load, there is no Adobe Photoshop files in x86\Adobe, only Adobe Reader.  Help!  I have lots of files I use Photoshop 5 to edit and now no way to edit them.

    a. enable file extensions to be visible:
To show file name extensions in Windows Explorer, follow these steps:
For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008
Start Windows Explorer, you can do this by opening up any folder.
    Click Organize.
    Click Folder and search options.
    Click the View tab.
Scroll down until you notice Hide extensions for known file types, un-check this line by clicking the check box.
Note To hide file name extensions, check this line.
    Click OK
    b. open the photoshop directory/folder and attach a screenshot of its contents.
    c. open autorun (setup info) in notepad and copy and paste its contents here.
    d. open readme.wri in wordpad and see if it contains anything useful.

  • Can't install Captivate 3 on Windows 7 64-bit machine

When I try to install it using the installer (even setup calls the installer) it looks like it's installing until the very end. Then it suddenly rolls back it's changes and ends up not installing the software (btw, this does not have an issue on a Windows 7 32-bit machine). Has anyone else run into this issue? If so, how did you get around it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Thanks for the response. I figured out what the issue was. Even though I was saying "runas Administrator" for some reason it still wasn't able to run. I then logged on as Administrator and was able to install it without issue. The only problem I have now is it won't let me activate the product because it wants me to deinstall it from the pc it was running on and that pc is about to die and won't let me deinstall it from there (it's a very very old xp pro desktop). Any ideas?

  • Which directory to install ITunes 9 on Windows 7 64 bit?

I'm installing and configuring a new laptop running Windows 7 64 bit. I have downloaded the 64 bit installer from Apple and when I started the installation the default location for ITunes install was C:\Program Files (x86). Is this the correct directory or should I change it to the C:\Program Files directory?
    TIA for any assistance.

    Chris CA wrote:
then replacing the Library.xml file with the one from my current install with the file edited to reflect the new location of the files
iTunes will simply overwrite the .xlm file since iTunes does not use it.
Just copy \Music\iTunes\ from the old computer to the new computer.
That's all you need to do.
Well, I think I've screwed the pooch on this one! I've copied the music from the old system, which I had in a folder inside iTunes called iTunes Music, into the new iTunes folder. The directory tree now looks like this: C:/Users/my name/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music. Nothing showed up in iTunes. I then overwrote the database file in iTunes (after backing it up)with the one from the other computer. Opened iTunes and all the data was there; music, playlists, etc. When I tried to play a tune I got the iTunes message it couldn't find the file, would I like to locate it? Closed that.
Question is do I have to move the music files? This version of iTunes, 9.0.2.25, has a folder called iTunes Media. My other iTunes is version 8.1.1.0. Is that where the music files are stored? Do I have re-edit the .xml file to point to the new location of the files?

  • How to install Reader 4.0 on VIsta 64-bit machine

I have an old program that looks for Acrobat Reader 4.0 under the Adobe programs directory in programs folder.
Anyone have any suggestions to install REader 4.0 so my program finds it?
    Thanks.
AR40ENG.EXE was bundled on the installation disk I received from teh software company which is now out of business....
My program is looking for Reader file named pdf.ocx.
    David Ristau

Well Mike, I appreciate your commennts, however, if I could haul around my old desktop with me and my vista 64 laptop, then problem would be solved.
However, I can't haul the desktop.
And like Linda, I've had a problem installing on XP.
Except, though, I was able to install 4.0 on a Dell laptop with XP pro.
I believe I installed it on the Dell before I installed Acrobat Pro 7.0.
I also believe that since I installed it on the Dell before 7.0, it would explain why I now can't load 4.0 reader on 2 new XP boxes that have Acrobat Pro 7.0 already installed.
Question for Linda: Did you unistall all versions of Acrobat as well as Reader trying to install 4.0?
Thanks for all comments and suggestions. I'll give them all a shot to get the 4.0 on an XP box.
FYI Mike, the old program I'm trying to use is a year 2000 tax prep software from an old company named Tax and Accounting Software. Even after all these years it's been the only program I've found for printing labels that lets me start anywhere on a label page and any quantity or font. Intuit bought out the company in 2001 and continues to sell a bookkeeping package that uses a similar labeling process that does work in XP and Vista 64. If I could figure out how to export the 400+ label file I have in that old tax package in a format the bookeeping package could read, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
I'll be calling Intuit next week to see if they have any suggestions other than re-typing all that label information.
Again, thanks for any help and suggestions

I've never had so much trouble.
I have tried everything recommended in forums, several times.
    Nothing ....

Are you using the 32 or 64 bit version of iTunes. Also, double check to ensure you are running an x64 version of Windows. If you are running 64-bit Windows and 64-bit iTunes, it should work, but try the 32-bit one. If you are running x64 Windows and 32-bit iTunes, again, it should work, but try the 64-bit. If you are running x86 (32-bit) Windows, you will need to run the 32-bit version of iTunes.

Firefox and Adobe Flash Player do not play well together.  It would be great if they could seamlessly update and be done with it...

Incredibly slow download, 205kb after 20 minutes from a broadband internet connection.

That indicates that the download is corrupted; you have to download it again!
The downloaded file (plugin installer) should be 2.65MB = 2,724KB = 2,788,816 bytes.
Can you download the installer from another computer / network connection, then transfer it to your computer with a memory stick or other media?

So i dont think there is a need for node manager in this context since there are no multiple machines involved.
I start the admin server and then try to start the managed server from the admin console . This is the error its giving me
The server dev_01 does not have a machine associated with it.
All of the servers selected are currently in a state which is incompatible with this operation or are not associated with a running Node Manager. No action will be performed.
where dev_01 is the name of the managed server.
However, i am able to start the managed server thorugh script
    startManagedWebLogic.cmd dev_01 http://localhost:7001
I would not prefer to have the node manager . so how would i start the managed server from the admin console?
    Any help much appreciated

    Hi,
Starting a ManagedServer from AdminConsole requires Nodemnager should be associated with the ManagedServer.
NodeManager is a Utility which is used to remotely start, stop Servers. If you try to start a ManagedServer from AdminConsole , in this case also it is called as *"Remote Start"* even if the ManagedServer is located in the Same Physical Box.
    <b><font color=maroon>
It means without associating the NodeManager to your ManagedServer you cannot start that ManagedServer from the AdminConsole. Because as soon as u try to start the ManagedServer from AdminConsole the AdminServer tries to pass the Start Instructions to the NodeManager Associated with That ManagedServer. If NiodeManager is associated with the ManagedServer then it performs all the prework before starting the Server and then issues the ManagedServer Start command.

    Then install using "java".
    java -jar <jar-name>
    This should work.
