Which libraries are accessible in custom components?

hi there
i am developing a custom component that has to access the repository. i found a tutorial for accessing it from a client application, but it needs quite a lot libraries such as adobe-repository-client.jar or adobe-livecycle-client.jar. i think there must be a way for a component, that is runing inside the appserver, to access the repository without this libraries. but i did not find any documentations for this.
has anyone an idea or a link to a tutorial?

for everyone that is interested in this: I figured out, that it seems to be possible to use all libraries as on client side. but it is not necessary to include them in the jar for deployment. just add a dynamic package import to the component.xml file, and the server handles everything itself! it is really amazing how long that one has to search for such a solution! there is absolutely no documentation available! i hope that will become better in the future! greez <dynamic-import-packages> <package version="1.0" isOptional="true">*</package> </dynamic-import-packages> <services> ... ...

How can you determine at runtime which libraries are attached?

I am wondering if there is a way to determine which libraries are currently attached to a form at runtime. My application is in forms 10g.
I am hoping to get the full path so that it is possible to show this in an information type display. I am ideally looking for a solution that works on both Unix and Windows so that it can be used in development and production

I am curious, why you want to know which library is attached and the full path??? You cannot change it at runtime!!
I don't think that's possible at runtime by using Generic Forms built-ins, But as always with Oracle, you can have several solutions.
One solution is to initialize global variables/parameters in PRE-FORM and later you can read them and see the values and do whatever you want accordingly.
When using Global variables, you can test for their DEFAULT_VALUE to check whether the variable exists or not, this will prevent getting an error if the variable hasn't been initialized yet.

Which libraries are loaded ?

I have a JWS application, using the Java Advanced Imaging library (JAI). On the developing machine JAI 1.1 is installed in lib/ext of JDK 1.3.1.
Since a new version of JAI is out 1.1.1, I upgraded the webserver resources with this newer version and expected that the JWS application would use this one. Instead, the app continued to use the JAI library (1.1) installed in the local JDK. I expected that the library cached in the JWS cache would have the preference.
In such a situation, a user could download a JAI version not supported by the JWS application from Sun's web site, install it in a local JRE. Does this mean that afterwards this unsupported version is preferred over the cached version ? This way a user could unwillingly corrupt a JWS application.
Is there any way to force that the downloaded libraries in the JWS cache are used ? (I may even have applications, which use different version of a library).

I think the problems, I described does not exist, since I have installed now a different JAI version on the local JRE and the web start app now uses downloaded one.
I am sure that I observed the behaviour described in the original thread, but I cannot reproduce it. Sorry for inconvenience.
To answer your question:
In the case of Java Advanced Imaging (JAI), I load the native libraries using:

Which libraries are needed to compile ejb

To compile my own test ejb application that uses servlets as well as EJBs, what libraries do I need. I'm using Sun ONE Application Server 7 and trying to compile using javac.

Use appserv-ext.jar and appserv-rt.jar to your classpath while compiling your application.

What libraries are attached to my form?

Is there a Forms built-in that will help me determine which libraries are attached to my form at runtime?

There is no way to do this natively.
You could build your own scheme where every package sets a flag. Then at any point you could check the flags and that will tell you what's attached.

Field to add to enter number of items which are shipped to customer

We have scenario, we have created sales order with quantity 1(Like soft copy or hard copy of CD).
Now we want to create delivery with sales order and quantity is 1(Copy from sales order).
Our requirement is some time we have to send additional things like hard copy of manual or complement gift which we are not entering in sales order.
Exp: Sales order- quantity 1.
Want to deliver quantity 1(+ manual+ complement gift, these items are not part of standard order)
For more clarity, we have to add one field and want to enter number (How many items we have send along with main materials and these items are not relevant for pricing also).
So requirement is add one additional field in delivery header/item.
Customer doesn’t want to use Free of goods or BOM which we have propose him. How to customize standard table and standard program.

Customs components are not updated on the scene

Hello!
i am working on a simple component, it is a movie clip.
On each frames I have a label and an icon.
In the component properties I set up a list where every itemshas the same title as the frames's labels.
With this component I can set any icon I want by selecting it in the list.
This is working fine and I am pretty happy about it.
The Problem:
If I change the name of one item in the list, add one or even reorder the list, the changes are not applied on all the components presents on the scene.
and I have more or less 50 of thoses components in my scene...
Is there a way to have the components updated ? Or at least update manually all the "old" components?
this issue occure with Flash CS5 and CS6 all my doccuments are made in AS3.

Use of deployment classpath or shared-libraries to pick-up "custom" classes

I’m trying to determine an approach to dealing with how classes are found in a deployed ADF application via classpath, etc. I’ve tried to explain the situation below as best I can so it’s clear. If you have any comments/suggestions as to how this could be done, it would be much appreciated
Current Application structure:
Consists of an application initially deployed to OC4J 10.1.3.4 using an alesco-wss.ear file
Application contains a single Web Module, initially deployed as wss.war file within the alesco-wss.ear file above.
The Web Module (wss) was built in JDeveloper 10.1.3.4 using 2 projects, a Model and ViewController project, and uses ADFBC.
The Model project seems to also generate an alesco-model.jar file in the /WEB-INF/lib/ folder, even though Model classes are in the /WEB-INF/classes/ folder below?
Exploded structure of application on application server looks something like:

The application runs successfully using the above deployment structure.
We plan to use the exploded deployment structure so that updates to pages, etc. can be applied individually rather than requiring construction and re-deployment of complete .EAR or .JAR files.
What I’m trying to determine/establish is whether there is a mechanism to cater for a customisation of a class, where such a class would be used instead of the original class, perhaps using a classpath mechanism or shared library?
For example, say there is a class “talent2.alesco.model.libraries.ModelUtil.class”, this would in the above structure be found under:
applications/alesco-wss/META-INF/classes/talent2/alesco/model/libraries/ModelUtil.class
Classes using the above class would import “talent2.alesco.model.libraries.ModelUtil”, so they effectively use that full-reference to the class (talent2.alesco.model.libraries as a path, either expanded or within a JAR).
From the Oracle Containers for J2EE Developer’s Guide 10.1.3 page 3-17, it lists the following:

Shared libraries are inherited from the app root.
We have reasons why we prefer not to use .JAR files for these “non-standard” or “replaced” classes, so prefer an option that doesn’t involve creating a .JAR file.
Our ideal solution would be to have such classes placed in an alternate directory that is referred to in a classpath such that IF a class exists in that location, it will be used instead of the one in the WEB-INF/classes/ directories, and if not such class is found it would then locate it in the WEB-INF/classes/ directories.
- Can a classpath be set to look for such classes in a directory?
- Do the classes have to replicate the original package directory structure within that directory (<dir>/talent2/alesco/model/libraries)?
- If the class were put in such a directory, without replicating the original package directory structure, I assume the referencing “import” statements would not locate it correctly.
- Is the classpath mechanism “clever” enough to search the package directory structure to locate the class (i.e. just points to <dir>)?
- Or would the classpath mechanism require each individual path replicating the package structure to be added (i.e. <dir>/talent2/alesco/model/libraries/ and any other such package path)?
If we are “forced” to resort to the use of JAR files, does a JAR file used for the purpose of overwrite/extending a sub-set of classes in the original location need to contain ALL related package classes? Or does it effectively “superset” classes it finds in all JAR files, etc. in the whole classpath? That is, it finds talent2.alesco.model.libraries.ModelUtil in the custom.jar file and happily goes on to get the remainder of talent2.alesco.model.libraries classes in the other core JAR/location. Or does it need all of them to be in the first JAR file for that package?
Any help would be appreciated to understand how these various class visibility mechanisms could be used to achieve what is required would be appreciated.

How are you able to configure Custom Web dynpro application to Appraisal document instead of HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT. could you please share the steps. We have created custom application a copy of HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT and the other two webdynpro components are also copied.
We dont know how to link this to Appraisal template. BADI HRHAP00_BSP_TMPL is used to change application names for BSP application. How to change application name for Web dynpro ABAP. Please share the stpes which will help us

You can first check available BAdis and then go to SE19 to see what all have been implemented.

Alternatively, you can do the following:
1. For what ever transaction u want the enhancement .. just check for the System-->status (menu) and find out the PROGRAM name....
2. Double click on to the program name and go inside the program (Abap editor)
3. Search for "Call Customer-function " ... and u'll get some search results .. If u get results then u have enhancement in that tcode .....
4. Then it actually calls a Function module .... copy the Function module name .... go to SE80 (object navigator) click on "Repository Information system" then Customer Enhancements .... Give the Function module name in the "Components" field and click Execute ....
ull get a list of Enhancements related to that Componene....
5. Choose which ever enhancement will suit ur business need ..
6. Go to CMOD... create a project .... assign ur enhancement ... and then code ur logic.... activate ur enhancement in CMOD ....... Ur Buisness need will be solved...
For a user exit......
Finding whether there is any User Exit or not for tcode VA42
1. For what ever transaction u want the user exit .. just check for the System-->status (menu) and find out the PROGRAM name.... ( The program name would be for our scenario "SAPMV45A" )
2. Double click on to the program name and go inside the program (Abap editor)
3. Search for the word "USEREXIT" .... u ll find all the user exits in the search result .. and find ur's then ...

Building JSF 1.2 Custom Components with EL and standard components

I have built custom components in jsf 1.1 with great success but i am finding replicating the same functionality in jsf 1.2 very difficult. I have some conditions for my new custom component.
- Using jsf 1.2
- Must use unified EL, i am using a UIComponentELTag
- iam using jsf standard html components from javax.faces.component.html here in particular i wont HtmlCommandLink.
Essentially i am constructing a real time command menu. I have a backing bean from which i get command names and descriptions values. I wont to then in real time construct a table of links (using HtmlCommandLink) - all this work is to be processed by a custom component. Basically the commandLink issues a command in my backing bean, a parameter (param) is passed with the commandLink, this is later picked up in the backing bean method.
I can generate the table, and all the HtmlCommandLinks, i have simply looped throught and encoded each of them.
What i can do: i can see the table and the HtmlCommandLinks, but the links dont perform any action when i press them.
What i want help with:
I want to encode a HtmlCommandLink in my custom component with a param, traditionally i would set the action but this is now deprecated, and i need to use the setActionExpression method. I have tried to do this but the actions are note fired its simply doesnt function.
Note:
In jsf 1.1 I use to loop through all the HtmlCommandLink and peform their processDecodes method within my custom components very own processDecodes. The same in jsf 1.2 doesnt seem to yield any results.
Can someone give be an example or solution to this? I have read articles on the net and they seem to all discuss jsf 1.1 which i have done and it works, but i am using unifed EL and jsf 1.2 now.

How to handle events between two custom components?

i want to handle events between two custom components, example if an event is generated in one custom component ,and i want to handle it any where in the application.....can any one suggest me any tutorial or meterial in this concept...

Events don't really go sideways in ActionScript by default. They bubble upward. If you want to send an event sideways, you will probably have to coordinate with something higher up in the event hierarchy. You can send the event to a common ancestor, and then pass it down the hierarchy as a method argument.
Another option is to use a framework that supports Injection. There are a number around these days. The one I'm most familiar with is Mate, which allows you to handle events and inject data in MXML. Mate is meant to be used as an MVC framework, and you may want to look into it if your application is complex, but you can also use it to coordinate global event handling if you don't need that level of structure.

Subcontracting Flow with Customer Components

Hi experts,
I have tricky scenario in our project, that maybe you can help me to solve.The scenario is the following:
1) Customer X, ask for Material 1
2) Material 1, is produced by Vendor Y (Subcontractor).
3) Material 1, has as component Material 2 and Material 3
4) Material 2, is provided by another vendor Z.
5) Material 3 is provided by Customer X, Free of Charge.
6) Components are then sent to Subcontractor.
This whole process is supported by Scheduling Agreements, which means, that we run MPS and MRP, and from Customer Demand, we get the information about how much we need from Vendor Y (for finished goods), Vendor Z for Material 2, and Customer X (also a Vendor) for Material 3.
The stock of Material 3 should be non-valuated, since is not our property, but we are legally responsible for it (if pieces are lost, we have to pay the customer).
The issue we have right now, is that, in order to have this requirement we had to setlle a Scheduling Agreement with 0,01 price...for Customer, when actually there is no price at all.
We need to:
1 - Manage Inventory of Customer Components
2 - This Stock must be unvaluated
3 - We need to plan how much of components need from Customer
4 - We need a Free of Charge Order/Schedluling Agreement in order not to have a 0,01 residual value
Did you have a similar situationbefore? How did you solve it? We thought in have a Vendor consigment, but anyway, we should pay when consuming the materials....and it is the same issue..

1. Define your customer materials (both component and finished product) as non valuated material, because these materials not effecting the our inventory.
2. create Bom for finished product.
3. Create sales order for service charges with reference to your customer PO.
4. Receive the component from your customer through 501 E (with out po sales order specific).
5. Create Production order with reference to sales order through MRP or manual.
6. confirm the production order and receive the
finished product.
7. Delivery to customer as in normal sales process.
8. Then create performa invoice or billing to your customer.
