Which methods to put in my Document object and which to put in my gui?

Please offer corrections or suggestions for the plan I discuss. :-)
I have created an MLDocument object that holds an xml document, some text(, a TreeModel(actually the tree model comes from the xml), and a text document, and an array of data that correlates the text with the stuff in the xml document.
This object is used in a document browser that I have written for it that has two panes: a tree and a JEditorPane(IIRC). One key element of the GUI is that I can click on the tree and the associated text is highlighted in the JEditorPane and vice versa. This is what drives me to ask this question.
Background: When I first wrote this program I did it before making the MLDocument class, but I began to realize I needed to do this in a better way. Now I am struggling to get some things to work trying it the new way.
My question is, how much (if any) of the gui stuff should I put in the MLDocument. At first I didn't have any, then it seemed like a good idea to have the tree's root be created by a get method in the object but now I'm remembering that I shouldn't serialize swing objects or else I won't be able to upgrade. (or would I be ok since the tree root is created dynamically on when the object is created). More importantly, I'm not sure where (or how) to keep/place my eventlisteners. (the ones in the document that make events occur in the gui).
It seems they should be in the GUI, but up until now, they had been associated with the document. Now the document is in the MLDocument object at that seems a bad place to keep them, since now I can't get them to do anything in the parent application.
Thanks for reading my confusing post,

  • How to put in put fields in abap objects using HTML documents

    Hallo Every body,
    I have got a problem in my program actually I have created 4 splitters. in this two are for Document search and the other two are for material search, The other two splitters are for HTML. I wanted to give the end user five i in put fields in Document search and Four fields in material search. So that the data is retrived from the data base ( DRAW, MARA). all these fields must have search help (F4).  after this it should have the drag and drop behavior.
    I have created the html but the F4 help is not working and when I am trying to get the data from data base it is processing but the result is zero.
    Is there any other way of doing this. If so can you tell me if possible send me one example too.
    Thank you in advance.

  • Document Object within JSP func decl.

    I am having difficulties accessing the standard document object from with a JSP function declaration.
    ie.
    <%!
    public void foobar() {
    document.form.blah
    %>
    **ERROR: document object does not exist. **
    Is there anyway to get ahold of the document object? Maybe a package I need to import?!? If someone could point me to some useful documentation I would greatful. I've been searching the API documentation all afternoon. sigh

    I think you might be confused - if not I apologize in advance for the following explanation.
    The standard document object is a client side concept and is usually accessed by Javascript running in the client browser.
    JSPs run on the server and process HTTP requests from the client. In response to these requests, JSPs generate HTML, JavaScript and other elements that can be interpreted by the browser.
    So, a JSP could include some Javascript that references the document object. However, that Javascript would not run until it was received by the browser. There is no way for a server side method to access the client document object.
    Perhaps if you describe what you're trying to do then someone can suggest an alternative design.

  • Determining which method to call from an array of Objects

    Hi All,
    Lets suppose I have an interface, a string method name, and an array of Objects indicating the parameters which should be passed to the method.
    What Im trying to work out is a way to quickly determine which method should be invoked.
    I can see that Class has getDeclaredMethod(String, Class[]), but that wont help me as I dont know the formal class types (the method may take X, but I might get passed Y which extends X in the array of objects).
    Does anyone know of a quick way I can determine this?
    All I can think of at the moment is going thru each method of the class one by one, and seeing if the arg is assignable, then, after getting all my matched methods, determining if there are any more 'specific' matches.
    Any ideas?
    Much appreciated,
    Dave

    you might want to take a look at the dynamic proxy apiCheers for the suggestion, but Im actually already using the dynamic proxy API.
    What I have is a MockObjectValidator which allows mock objects to be configuered with expected calls, exceptions to throw etc etc.
    I thought developers on my project would get tired using an interface like this:
    myValidator.setExpectedCall("someMethod", new Class[] { typeA, typeB }, new Object[] { valueA, valueB} );
    I.e, I wanted to cut out having to pass the class array, so they could just use:
    myValidator.setExpectedCall("someMethod", new Object[] { valueA, valueB} );
    The problem there is that I then need to pick the best Method from the class given the object arguments.
    When the mock object is in use, its no problem as the InvocationHandler interface provides the Method. The problem I have is selecting what method a user is talking about from an array of Objects.
    Ive written a simple one now, it just does primitive type class -> wrapper substitution, and then finds ** A ** match. If there is more than one match (ie, all params are assignable to a class' method params), I dont let that method be used.
    Shortly I'll update it to actually make the correct selection in those cases.
    cheers
    Dave

    If you are looking for accessing objects that are eligible for GC but are not GC,than it should be very difficult.As Java does not give you memory access to its variables.

    Copying from the «all edit java scripts» the whole piece to paste into the same window in the new Acrobat document (sometimes some fields lost function).
    Copying the specific java script located in «Document java scripts» i into the same window in the new Acrobat document , also with problems.
    Insert the specific page with a java script into the new one Acrobat document. This method has been perfect for the moment although I don't know if it is just orthodox enough to avoid conflicts in the future.

    !. Not recommended, you will pull all including fields, and document actions as well as overwrite existing form field and document actions.
    2. Possible but could be time consuming.
    3. Best choice. I would look at inserting a blank page into the PDF with the code, copy any fields with script to the blank page, save the file and then extract the inserted page. The page will also pickup the document actions and document level JavaScripts.
    Another option would be creating an FDF file to add the document level code and actions to a PDF.

  • Problem invoking short-lived processes involving Document object

    I have two LiveCycle instances on two different server environments(Dev and Test). I have a few common short-lived processes and forms. All these processes involve Document objects. These processes run fine on one environment(Dev) and have problem in the other(Test) for the same input parameters. Input parameters are Document(PDF) objects. I see this error when I invoke a process which has RenderPDFForm activitity in Test environment.

    I tried comparing the configuration settings for these 2 environments and everything looks the same between the two environments except Health Monitor.
    Total Physican Memory, Free Physican Memory and Free Swap Space. These parameters are vary big between the two envs. Other parameters look close.
    Is this difference causing the process to fail in Test environment ? If yes, are there any other parameters that I can adjust to fix the problem with the process ?
    If no, what could be causing the process in Test env to fail ?
    Any ideas in this direction would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    I am modifying the correct httpd.conf file on the server, it just doesn't seem to work. - If I put the rewrite rules in the <Directory /> the rewrite works but it adds /Library/WebServer/Documents to the URL.
    I also tried putting the rewrite rules in <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> but that did not work either.
    mod_rewrite is enabled and running on the server.
    I will post the rewrite rules again in the code brackets. Sorry for the long post. - If some one can try them out on their Leopard Server to see if they can get them to work, it would be much appreciated. Again, these work on my Leopard Client but I can't get them to work on Server.
    -- The httpd.conf file posted above is just the default conf file found in /private/etc/apache2/

  • Hi there, I have a Macbook Pro and I have been using Libre Office but I am not happy with it. I need a good word processing package to produce a manuscript and don't know if I have to get Word for Mac and how to put my documents into it.

    Hi there and hello everybody.
    I am writing a book and have been using Libre Office and would like a better word processing package.
    I have heard that Pages 5 is better than the latest one. I need to be able to put my Libre Office documents
    into Pages. Anyone know how to do this please?

    magathon wrote:
    Thanks. So would you say Word is the best processing package? And how do I choose which package 'opens' them.
    This is a basic computer skill you might want to learn. You can always control which application opens any document, and the steps below apply to any Mac or Windows computer you use:
    Method 1: Drag the document icon on top of the application (Word, Pages, LibreOffice...) icon and release. The system will open the document in the application you dragged it to.
    Method 2: Go into the application (Word, Pages, LibreOffice...) and choose File/Open. Locate and select the document, and click the Open or OK button.
    Method 3: Select the document icon and choose File/Open With, then choose the application you want to open the document with.
    The only time these don't work is when the application cannot open that type of document. For example, you usually can't make a photo editor open a text file. But Word, Pages, and LibreOffice all know how to open text files, RTF files, and Word files.
    But if it is important that the document formatting is exactly preserved when exchanging with other Word users, you really should use Word. If you can't afford to pay the retail price for a copy, Microsoft now lets you use Office for $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year.

  • Which method is used for event creation

    Dear All,
    My client has more then one Purchase Organization. Workflow for Purchase order release very from pur org to pur org. For example - workflow WS92000030 is trigger when PO is created for India pur org where as workflow WS92000021 is trigger when PO is created for US pur org.
    I checked and found that same Object Type - BUS2012 & event - RELEASESTEPCREATED is used in all Pur. Org PO release workflow. Also I found in Transaction code - SWETYP that Type linkage activate for  BUS2012, RELEASESTEPCREATED in all the PO workflow - WS92000030 & WS92000021.
    As per my knowledge, event can be created in various way such as Function module, Change document, General status management, Business Transaction Events etc.
    Can some one guide me, how can I found that which method is used for event creation in different pur org?
    How can I fould what is the fuctional module used for event creation if Fuctional module used for event creation.
    For your information, I can see in T. Code - SWUO that 'Result dependent on a check function module'  for all the workflow - WS92000030, WS92000021 etc.
    Thanks in

    Hi Sahu,
    I dont think they have used the Function module or change document or any other kind of methods to trigger the workflow. This is because RELEASESTEPCREATED method is a standard method and it will be triggered by standard SAP. They can not make changes in standard sap saying RELEASESTEPCREATED should be triggered for this Purchase Org .
    Istead what i think is, they might have given the Event Condition for each workflow.
    In SWDD>> basic settings>> Start Events, we can give condition on triggering the workflow.
    Please check this.
    Regards,
    Gautham

  • How to Save a XML file using Document Object

    Hai all,
    I am new to XML and i created a application to insert a node in the XML file using org.w3c.dom.Document object. And want to know which method has to be used to store the Document object into a XML fille.

    The standard way would be to use a transformer with no transformation where the destination is a StreamResult.
    something like:
    TransformerFactory tFactory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
    Transformer transformer = tFactory.newTransformer();
    transformer.transform(new DOMSource(doc), new StreamResult("output.xml"));

    I'm supposed to catch changes to my custom table with a Change Document Object. I know that this creates a series of includes that I need to put on my program and a function module which I would use to catch the change. My question is, is there any example of a standard program that implements how I should work with this change document object?

    Thanks for the link but I've been through every tutorial in that page. I just want to see it implemented on some standard program or something so I can visually see how it works.
