Which node is selected in XML?

I'm using XML to populate a comboBox Component.  How do I get the aactionscript to trace which number in the array the choice is?  So for example is my choices are:
choice A
choice B
choice C
on the dropdown box, whne I click "choice A" I want it to trace "0" because that's it's place in the XML, or if I click "choice C" it will say 2".
If i use "length" it will tell me how many.  I need to know what to use that tells me which one.

It depends on how you're utilising your XML, but ComboBox has selectedIndex property so that you can trace the index number of the item selected.

  • Hierarchical Tree. How do I know which node is selected.

    Hi All,
    I have a Hierarchical tree, How do I know which node is selected
    by the user. Similar is the case with list item.
    Thank You,
    Raj.

    Raj,
    For the hierarchical tree, use the when-tree-node-activated
    trigger and the Ftree.Get_Tree_Node_Property built in to identify
    the node that was selected.
    For a list box use a when-list-changed trigger. To refer to the
    value of the selected list item you can use the block.item
    syntax.

    The views use XPath expressions and functions such as extractValue() to define the mapping between columns in the view and nodes in the XML document. The following view is created on purchase order schema.
    Creating Relational Views On XML Content
    CREATE OR REPLACE view PURCHASEORDER_MASTER_VIEW
    (REFERENCE, REQUESTOR, USERID, COSTCENTER,
    SHIP_TO_NAME,SHIP_TO_ADDRESS, SHIP_TO_PHONE,

    When we register XML Schema in Oracle 9i, the schema elements of XML documents are stored as XMLType, that is, stored using object-relational storage techniques.
    For a small schema, we could build the above view manually, but for large/nested schema, if we have query to build XML documents node list, it will help us to build Relational Views on XML Content.
    How do we extract the nodes of any given XML document through O-R structures or XML DB using XML DB functions?
    Any alternate thoughts are welcome.
    I appreciate your help.

    Once again, I do not think that you can solve the problem you are trying to solve. Fundamentally you need to determine for a given element of a given complex type what are it's child elements. For each of those elements you then need to find out whether or not it in turn has child elements...
    Then you have to think about elements defined as ref rather than type, elements that are substituteable, and the rest of possibilities that can be described with XML Schema.
    If you can solve that problem you're a better man than I as the saying goes. Anyone rather than give you a fish, I'll show you how to at least put a worm on the hook..
    The following query gets the names of the elements inside a each of the global complex types

  • TAGS WHICH CANNOT BE DISPLAYED IN XML ARE TO BE INCLUDED IN TEMPLATE

    Hi,
    Can I have some inputs to solve an issue that is haunting me ?
    I need to generate an XML with predefined tags and cant add any extra tags.
    Apart from that I also need to generate a pdf file using a rtf template. The issue I am facing is , there are various fields in the rtf template which are not there in XML.
    How do I display fields in the template where as I cant display or rather include them in the XML ?
    Or can we generate two XMLs and pass one of them for the generation of the pdf and the other be kept as it is ?
    Thanks
    Rajiv Sengupta

    Thank you very much for the suggestions.
    But the issue I am facing is, there are 140 Codes and Descriptions that can be picked up dynamically and display in a Field. Also the field should be able to display more than one codes and the Description of those Codes(if selected) I cannot hard code 140 Codes and their description in a field in rtf. That will take too much time in the generation of pdf from rtf . Also it will be difficult to clear the GSCC Errors when the same rtf will be used for the R12. So hardcoding the 140 Codes is doesnt seem to be a great option.
    The Code can be picked from the XML , which is in legislative format. But the XML will not contain the descriptions of the Code. I am archiving the Description of the Code, but cannot include it in XML.
    But I need to display the description of the particular code in the PDF. Please suggest.
    Thanks

    It is highly recommended to use the JDBC Driver for SQL Server 2005, even if you are using SQL Server 2000. In ODI's pre-populated lists, it is not there - you will have to (1) get the driver yourself, downloadable from the Microsoft site. (get the driver v1.2, not the 2.0, and use a JRE v1.5, 1.5 or 1.6. The 2.0 driver from Microsoft requires the JRE 1.6)
    (2) use the
    Driver: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
    and the URL: jdbc:sqlserver://<myserver>:<myport, default 1433>;database=<mydb>;selectMethod=cursor
    these are not automatic, you will need to type them in.
    The database must be configured for connections from tcpip.

  • Html:checkbox - which box is selected and on in what tr

    I have a jsp in which I iterate over a LinkedList of people. Each person gets there own row in a table on the jsp page. In each row is the name of a person in the first <td> and then a checkbox in each of the next three <td>'s.
    A user may order one of three reports on any or each of the names coming from my LinkedList by clicking on a checkbox.
    Right now I am able to determine which report to order by which checkbox is selected in a row, but am unable to determine which row/person to order the report for.
    I've seached this forum and went through the first couple pages of results with no luck. And spent a bit of time on google but can't seem to get the exact keywords to retrieve the results I need.
    Here is a small sample of how I am setting up the table. Just a snippet, names have been changed, you won't be able to compile this.
    <logic:iterate id="person" name="someLogical" property="personsList" type="someDataObjectType">
         <tr>
              <td valign="top" nowrap>
                   <bean:write name="person" property="name"/>
              </td>
              <td align="center" valign="top">
                   //someForm is my actionForm, and orderReportOne is a boolean being set in the form
                   <html:checkbox name="someForm" property="orderReportOne"/>
              </td>
              <td align="center" valign="top">
                   <html:checkbox name="someForm" property="orderReportTwo"/>
              </td>
              <td align="center" valign="top">
                   <html:checkbox name="someForm" property="orderReportThree"/>
              </td>
         </tr>
    </logic:iterate>The booleans in my form are being set correctly but don't relate to a specific person. They would just order reportOne for each person in the list.
    Edit: I will be leaving soon for the rest of the day and may or may not be able to reply again until monday, but appreciate any responses. Thanks

  • Urgent..Please..setting node as selected programmatically

    Hi,
    Can somebody tell me how to set a tree node as selected programmatically?..
    i.e. I have tree in which all the nodes bear a name of the color. I have a thread which keeps changing the selected node, and based on the selection the color will be displayed in my right panel.(JSplitPane). This should happen automatically and user will keep seeing the node selection changed in the tree and corresponding color in the right side. I have used DefaultTreeModel to loop thro' the tree nodes. But I am unable to make a node as selected in the tree..Can anyone help me please..Its urgent..
    Thanx in advance.

    I couldn't remember, so I looked in the API documentation for JTree. It wasn't long before I came to a method "addSelectionPath(TreePath)", which is what you want. I leave it as an exercise for you to figure out how to get a TreePath from your node.

  • Expanding a JTree Node on selection

    Hi,
    I have a need to expand the node on selection in a JTree. I would like all the children to be recursively expanded and selected.
    I believe the code lies somewhere with in JTree's TreeSelectionListener.
    The code I have is as follows
    tree.addTreeSelectionListener(new TreeSelectionListener()
    public void valueChanged(TreeSelectionEvent evt)
    TreePath[] paths = evt.getPaths();
    for (int i=0; i<paths.length; i++)
    if (evt.isAddedPath(i))
    DataNode node = (DataNode)paths.getLastPathComponent();
    ArrayList aList = node.children();
    if( !aList.isEmpty() )
    for(int j = 0; j<aList.size(); j++)
    TreePath tp = paths[i].pathByAddingChild(aList.get(j));
    System.out.println(tp);
    tree.expandPath(tp);
    }//for
    }//public void ValueChanged
    This does not seem to solve the problem..

    DATA:
        node_nd_worlflow                    TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node,
        elem_nd_worlflow                    TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element,
        stru_nd_worlflow                    TYPE wd_this->element_nd_worlflow ,
        lead_selection_index                TYPE i,
        relation_no                         TYPE guid_32.
    navigate from <CONTEXT> to <ND_WORLFLOW> via lead selection
      node_nd_worlflow = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_nd_worlflow ).
    @TODO handle not set lead selection
      IF ( node_nd_worlflow IS INITIAL ).
      ENDIF.
    get element via lead selection
      lead_selection_index = node_nd_worlflow->get_lead_selection_index( ).
      elem_nd_worlflow = node_nd_worlflow->get_element( index = lead_selection_index ).
    elem_nd_worlflow->get_static_attributes( IMPORTING static_attributes = stru_nd_worlflow ).
    Cheers

  • Which node will become master

    Hi All,
    I have 4 node rac. My question is suppose the master node go evicted,
    In this case,which node will become master and who decide which node will become master.
    I have read somewhere that the node wilth least number will become master.
    How oracle decide the numbering which node will have least number?
    Could you please help me in cleairing my doubt?
    your suggestion are welcome.
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi,
    I have learned somewhere the node with the least node number will become master node.
    How oracle decides which node will have highest node and which will have lowest node number?The information which you want is not documented (far as I know). What is difficult to accurately tell you the truth.
    There's a reason to you want to know about this. Depending on what you need, we can to solve in another way without trying to figure out which node have OCR Master all the time.
    Markus is Principal Product Manager Oracle RAC and he is one of Contributors of documentation of Oracle Database see his answer.
    Markus words:
    Why are you interested in knowing which node the OCR Master resides on all the time?
    The OCR backup is taken only every 4 hours. If you are of bad luck, the OCR master could have changed between the time of the last backup and the check using ocrconfig -showbackup. Now, if this was the case, the CRSD.log(s) will probably tell you But again, you should not be required to find the OCR master permanently.
