Which Process triggered a workflow

Hi,
New to WF so any help would be appreciated.
I have a standard Oracle workflow which I need to adapt, the main logic will be to create a split decision based on which process actually called the Workflow.
How do I know which process called the workflow?

Please ignore the above as the problem is not actually what I originally thought was happening. It turns out that any file which is updated through Oracle Drive does not trigger the BPEL workflow for the Upload Document workflow operation. The workflow that was being triggered for which I could not get details for was a temp file that was being created when browsing Oracle Drive before overwriting a file, the workflow could not get the temp files document details as the file was deleted before it could do so. Does anyone know a way of getting the workflow to be triggered upon the update of a file in Oracle Drive?

There is a single step task , for which the workflow triggers.
There is no triggering event , but there is a terminating event , also the binding for this terminating event is not checked .

there is a function module CATS_WF_APPROVAL mentioned in the attributes of the business object CATS , method Approve .
The task is TS31000007 .
version of sytem : SAP ECC 6.0
the timesheet is created by tcode CAT2 . and then when it is released and saved , the workflow triggers .
The above mentioned FM has a call transation for CATSWF .

Which version of Oracle workflow is required for owb 11.2 process flow.

Hi,
I want to implement process flow for my mapping.
But I am getting error as,
"The connection was succesful but failed to retrive workflow version."
Also OWF_MGR user is not created.
Database is oracle 11g on RHEL
and standalone OWB 11.2 on Windows.
Do I need to create user owf_mgr which have schema for workflow objects?
Also which version of oracle workflow required for process flow. Do I need to install
Oracle Workflow server at Oracle db server or it ll get installed with 11g.
Where I ll get the details steps to implement process flow from scratch.
Please help.

Hi,
I checked in dba_user and do not find owf_mgr in it so I created owf_user and grant himexecute any procedure and a role owb_user.
When I did not get table wf_resources in owf_mgr schema, I try to run wfinstall.bat on stand alone owb 11.2.
But I got the following error,
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist and execution terminated.

Implicit triggering of Workflow Action

Hi
There is Oracle APEX(Application Express) which is invoking the BPEL process on change in DB field.
Lets say status become NEW, it inokes the BPEL process, with the Request Number, which is a key filed in APEX as an input payload message to BPEL.
In BPEL process there is a Workflow which is triggered and a request is sent for Approval/Deny lies in a person's worklist.
Now APEX is the controlling point and BPEL is only used for workflow .
So no action of a workflow can be triggered form BPM worklist.
So when the status of DB field changes from NEW to COMPLETED, the BPEL process is to be invoked again and should proceed with the workflow action task where it has stopped previously and should get out of theat person's worklist.
The issue here is :
How can I invoke the workflow action from APEX to proceed further, when it has come to a person's worklist.

Thanks for the speedy response. We've tried that, but the "Change Document Object" for Risk Assessment in not included in the possible list.
The following change document object for this transaction is CBIH_ERH for the Risk Assessment and CBIH_AC for the Safety Measure. This information can be seen in the change document CDHDR.

Debugging N step badi triggering GOA workflow

Hi Gurus,
We have a approval workflow which is triggered whenever a GOA document is saved or its change version is saved.
The BADI is used for determining the approvers and assigning leves as we have multiple level approval process.
I want to debug this badi whenever i create a GOA document using transaction BBP_CTR_MAINCC.
I tried using normal session break point technique but it didn't work. I also tried to put infinite loop in the badi and tried debugging using sm50 but without success.
Request you to suggest how to debug that badi .

I think you can just debug the badi from SE19.
1. Create a GOA in the web frontend, but don't do any approval just yet
2. Write the GOA number down somewhere.
3. the object type is BUS2000113
4. Start SE19 and start debugging the BADI workflow
5. Enter the object id = goa number, object type = BUS2000113
6. Start debugging

Workflow step IN PROCESS while the workflow is actually completed.

Hi All,
I'm having problem in the terminatuion eform workflow.
In this workflow we have a activity step say "PROCESS_DATA" with agent determined by a Rule AC93000026.
The task that is associated with this step has a terminatiopn event "COMPLETED" of a class "ZCL_EFORM"
Now when user executed the workitem from his inbox the process gets completed successfully.
Tthe workflow is proceeded further with next steps and also gets completed but the issue is that the step "PROCESS_DATA" have status in *IN PROCESS" while the workflow is completed.
Can any one help me with this?

Hi Pavan,
I have used the COMMIT WORK after raising the event. Still the problem persist.
Again this issue is not occuring for every workflow instance, as 2 out of 10 faces this issue.
As there some WF instances which are successfull one so WF-BATCH is not locked.
Also the other tread that i had posted was for another workflow (Hirirng WF) and the this is with termination WF.
So any help?

Custom processing for Projects workflow

Hi,
For Projects, we want to use custom notification functionality for workflow events. We cannot use agents
assignment nor data from HR as we don't have HR data in SAP. What we want to do the following for all events related to projects.
1. Users will choose the role to which they want the workflow/notification to go and click on SAVE for any action projects.
2. At this time,we want to call a custom function module to get the details of the recipients for that event and role from custom tables.
3. Using the above recipients list, we will send the alerts/notifications.
Please let me know if there is a place where I can assign the custom function module which gets executed after the event is triggered or when user clicks on save after assigning the role.

Ah... OK, this could be a bit daunting if you've not done it before.
The short version:
You need to create a subtype of your object type BUS2001 (SWO1)
Create a method with appropriate parameters, inside this method you execute the function module. You'll need to use some of the WF macros here.
Lastly, create a task from the WF builder based on your method. You need to have a container element to hold your agents, which you get back from your method.
The long version:
The SAP docu is very good these days. (not trying to be unhelpful, but I could spend quite a while here otherwise). It also has a good tutorial, for the coding look under Business Workflow Programming or in the other WF help, the Business Object Builder. A bit of persistence and a sense of adventure will pay off.

Triggering a workflow from a adobe interactive form...

Hi,
I am new to SAP.
I hv to ceate a adobe form for creating CREDIT MEMO REQUEST...
on filling the data and submitting, it should trigger a workflow, in which, the approver may approve or reject..
if it is approved it should be updated in the database table
and if rejected it should go to the another person.
I know to create adobe forms.. On clicking the SUBMIT button in the form the workflow should be triggerd..
is there any standard wokflow for my requirement or should i create a new WF.
What is the code for triggering a workflow.... how to approach my requirement... can any one help on this please...

Regarding HCM Process and forms Workflow

Hello all,
I am working in HCM process and forms workflow. In that workflow, there are three levels. First and second level is approved by the respective managers. I am using the Standard TASK TS17900100 in the 3rd level. In which the final level has Send, withdraw, "BACK TO AUTHOR" option. When I click on Send button the PROCSTATE (workflow container element) status getting changed to Processed and the workflow getting Completed.
But when I click on "BACK TO AUTHOR" button the PROCSTATE status is not getting changed from "APPROVED" to "BACK"?
Any clue on this what could be error ?

Friends,
In the Workflow ,there is the binding for "Processor Role" between Workflow Container and Task Container. I removed this binding as it is not required. Now on click of "Back to Author" in the final stage the work item is moving to Inititor.

How to identify which process Chain is Scheduled.

Hi All,
We have 20 Process Chains in our project.In SM37, i have checked the Scheduled Jobs in SM37 and found "BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER" job is triggered. How can i find which process Chain is scheduled out 20 Process Chains.
Can i get the Process Chain Names from Tcode SM37.Or else, Do i need to check each process chain Start Time ?

Xellerate USR Process Triggers 11g

By default in OIM 11g, process triggers do not fire as the setting of XLUserResource.ProvisionMode is set to DB.
In an earlier discussion thread about "some issues in OIM password generation", it was stated that it is not recommended to change the setting to "JAVA" which re-enables the process triggers.
Why would I not want to change the setting back to "JAVA"?

In 11g, Recon is stored procedure based.
If you change it to Java then it won't utilize new feature of OIM 11g so performance will be down.

try this
you can use master_ale_distribute function module to create the idoc.but before that you need to populate two internal table to pass in to this function module.
1.it_edidc = this internal table tells the port,partner profile etc.this internal table having the same structure of edidc table
2,second you create the internal table conatains the data records.this table got the the structure of edid4.
3.populate these two internal table and pass this to this function module
4.you can populate the second internal table from your flat file by writing some upload program

Triggering an Workflow Template

Hi Gurus,
In one of our projet requitements we need to implement an Workflow. Sap Already has a standard workflow - WS24500047 for Quality Notification which is triggered from QM02 Transaction .
But We need to trigger this same WF template from Another Transaction(QE02) .
What are the ways the WF template can be triggered from this new Transaction.

Hi Arunava,
1.First of all you will need to find out at which event this workfow should be triggered.
2.Check whether this particular event is already being raised when this new transaction QE02 is executed.
3. If event is not being raised by the system, then you will have to find user exit for QE02 and then raise this required event from this user exit so that template WS24500047 can be started.
