Which server is connected to a switch interface
Hi all,
We have a few switches in our company and we wanted to know an easy and quick way to find out which servers are connected to that switch (even if possible on which interface).
For example:
Firewall -> Switch1 interface Gig 0/1
Mail or 10.10.10.10 -> Switch2 interface Gig 0/3
I'm using at this moment the following command:
show cdp neighbors
It gives me all cisco device connected to that switch.
Is there an other command that does the same? Displaying the DNS or IP of a server that is connected to that interface of the switch.
Kind Regards
Hi,
a) there are some free tools available to track the end devices.
SolarWinds User Device Tracker might be an example (not tested personally).
b) If you want to run a CLI command, you usually need to take an opposite way: find out the device IP or MAC address and track to which switch port it's connected.
So you can list the FW ARP cache in your case.
And then to use "trace mac ip ..." switch CLI command, e.g.
See

or

for details.

This an IPOD I bought used. Everything else works fine. It syncs to my computer and plays my music but will not connect to the USB interface in my car. My wife's IPOD, which seems to be identical, works fine. I should say it connects but then immediately disconnects. Any ideas?
Then my last suggestion is to Reset it, while connected to the BMW Audio.
Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the red mark when you do the next step
Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs or till the Apple Logo comes ON
Then release the buttons
Select your preferred language.

I would like to know which apple server dictation connects to so that my proxy server will stop blocking it. Which apple server does it connect too?
I would presume so, but it might be worth your while to experiment and play around with different combinations to see if you can block FaceTime while keeping Game Center open. Good luck!

If you just bought the external Thunderbolt Display, you may be able to return it for the LED Display. -
Server with 3 NICs wants to connect to 2 switches
I have two 6509 on the distro layer ( distro 1 and distro2 ), running layer 2 only. They are connected to two 6509s on the core layer. One of the server admins has a 3 port NIC on his server bundled together to increase bandwidth. He wants to connect it to 2 ports on the distro1 and 1 port on the other distro2 switch. All 3 distro ports he is connecting to are in the same VLAN and the VLAN is allowed on all port channel connections between distro and core switches.
Will this even work since he is connected on different switches? Those stating that a NIC channel is not allowed to two individual switches should know that a NIC teaming is usually not a link aggregation (port-channel). If it is an active-standby-standby NIC team then all you need is to make sure all 3 ports belong to the same VLAN. Traffic will leave the server on the active link and the switches will learn that the MAC address is on this port. No Port-channel config is necessary on the switches.
Load-balanced NIC teaming usually requires Port-channel if the same src MAC address can appear on multiple ports. In this case multichassis link aggregation is mandatory and you cannot connect to individual switches. -
SQL that shows which client process is connected to which server process
Hi,
I am running database on Linux.
I have many oraclePROD processes (up to 100). These are dedicated server processes, which are opened by several client processes.
I want to know which server process is connected to which client process. I see that v$session gives the session# and client process, but does not give information about the related dedicated server process.
Is there any v$ view that gives this information?
Thank you.user12952237 wrote:

Which CAS server user connects
How to check which CAS server did user (outlook) hit among the group of CAS servers (Exchange 2013 CU3) behind F5 load balancer
SAHHi Shaik ,
In my environment also we are using the F5 load balancers ,If i wanted to check which user is connecting to which cas server then i need to contact the person who is handling the F5 device.
Like you i have also searched for the same query before six months. Finally what i found is given below.
Basically we can use the netstat commands to find out the client connectivity to the cas servers .If we run the commands on the cas server ,we will not be getting the client ip address on the netstat output instead we will be getting the ip address of the
F5 device.
But on the F5 device we can able to see which client is connecting to which cas server by using some commands.
Thanks & Regards S.Nithyanandham -

How can we fix it. Thank youYou can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy"
See "Firefox connection settings":

Unfortunately I have no experience with LabView.
It is generally possible to steer the pump? I read a lot and it will describe this is not possible. But I have a compoliertes Pogramm and unfortunately can not get the source code and the driver. There you can control the pumps.
Can one of you help. I would be very grateful.

Thank you very much in advance and best regards
MichaelThanks for the extra comments GerdW.
Perhaps there is someone who wants to help me, in the manual are not the commands available. Even the technicians of Gilson I could not tell from his documentation of the command sets.

Router interface up connected to switch interface down - but router status = up.
Hi all,
My router R2 fa0/0 and fa0/1 are connected to 2 L3 switches on their fa0/2 ports respectively.
I have shutdown all interfaces on the L3 switches. but on my router, i still see
R2#show ip int bri
Interface IP-Address OK? Method Status Protocol
FastEthernet0/0 192.168.3.1 YES manual up down
FastEthernet0/1 192.168.4.1 YES manual up down
======================================================================
I would have thought if i have shutdown the switches interfaces, the respective interfaces on the Router would be down too.
Is it not the case ?
Regards,
NoobHi KOH SZE JIE,
This is normal behavior; If you have an interface UP; the line protocol may go up and down. But the Status (of the interface) will not change unless you make a configuration change.
Please see below a breakdown of your "show ip int brief"
Method
is set to 'Manual' This means you manually configured the interface from the CLI.
Status
is 'UP' This means the interface is up. Basically this means you did a "no shutdown" on the port.
There are three modes here
Down - The interface is shutdown (Default on most routers)
Administratively down - You have gone under the interface and issued a "shutdown"
UP - You have issued a "No shutdown" on the interface.
Protocol
Down - This means a routing protocol is not active on the interface. This makes sense as you have shutdown the remote end(in your case your L3 switch.
I hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
Liam
*** EDIT ***
After a bit of digging, I found the following Cisco document; this explains the entire show command more concisely then I could :)

How to find the server connected from multiple switched netwtwork
I have one server connected to distrubted switch or acces switch in network .
They were 45 switches in netwrok and need help how to find that server connected switch from Core switch ?
How many mehtodes and process we can use to find that connected physical switch ?
Thanks in advance !!!It's a bit of a tedious process. but if you ping the IP address of the server from the core switch and then check the ARP entry to get its MAC address, you can then trace the address tables in the switches to find the switch that the server is physically connected to. Once you have the MAC address, you'll have to check the address table in each switch in the path between the core and the server to find it.

Hi,
I am new to ATG CSC and when i installed CSC, 3 server instances were created for Production, Publishing and Agent servers.
The ATG installation contains a DirectJTDataSource_management.properties file containing a JNDIName property with a default value (JNDIName=ATGMysqlDS).
To which server's datasource should the DirectJTDataSource_management.properties point to (Production, Publishing or Agent) ?It points to publishing schema.

ASA 5505 configured for WebVPN connecting to Citrix Web Interface
ASA 5505 configured for WebVPN connecting to Citrix Web Interface.
i have a ASA 5505 that I am attempting to configure for WebVPN with passthrough into Web Interface . The user authenticates into WebVPN OK and gets the option to click on the Citrix Link (which is i add bookmark citrix server http:// 172.30.40.5.) i enter the citrix and then for example i want to open to outlook it can not open. (when i want to open some application no application is open)).there is no alarm at asa. how i solve this issue?
thanks.Teymur,
Can you confim that after disabling the ssl/tls on the Citrix server (secure connectivity) that you are getting exactly the same error. It is possible that it is generating a different error.
The bug where we have see the existing error was CSCtf06303 but that has been fixed in 8.4.1. Can you confirm the exact version of code you are running on the ASA.
If you have confirmed the above two notes it may be adventageous to open a TAC case as we may need to do some live additional troubleshooting.
Thanks
-Jay
