Which set of LayoutManagers?

I have a JPanel (ListPanel) in a JScrollPane. The ListPanel can contain any number of JPanels (NodePanel). Each NodePanel contains a JTextPane as well as other JComponents (JLabel, etc).
I want each NodePanel to be displayed with word wrap for the JTextPane as well as at full height (no scrollbars for each NodePanel).
I'd like the ListPanel height to be (number of NodePanels) times (height of each NodePanel).
Is there a clean way to get this functionality without worrying about the sizes myself?

No, but a background attribute will. The real answer is that you should always preferentially use CSS to do such things rather than the HTML attributes.

Unfortunately, my employer decided to buy a new Windows 7-capbable cpu this morning instead of having me install Win7 on the current cpu. I was going to implement your suggestion today, but my copy of 7 was already shipped back by the time I got in today.
I actually kind of want to try it anyway for the sport of it. I promise that, if it comes to it and I'm asked to install it later, I will attempt your suggestion and update this forum with my results.

The video/audio display settings should set automatically for the best your TV can handle (720p AppleTV2, 1080p AppleTV3).
The download resolution for rentals or playback of purchases from the cloud is set in settings for iTunes store.
Sounds as though you have slow internet. For near instant streaming of video from iTunes store you need around:
Standard Definition     2.5 Mbps
720p HD                    6 Mbps
1080p HD                  8 Mbps
Any slower for a given quality setting and the movie has to buffer as it can't keep up in real time. This might be a few minutes if close to the rated speed or many hours, even overnight.
As pcd251s suggests you could test internet speed (speedtest.net on a computer for example). If that is fine, sometimes the LAN if on wifi can be extremely slow in certain locations - ethernet connections would troubleshoot that.
Slow internet is the common issue here. AppleTV does not have permanent storage and using it to play other content or browse trailers while a rental is buffering can reset the buffering process.   In such cases you might be better off planning in advance, renting in iTunes, letting the whole thing FULLY download and it will then be available across teh LAN to stream from computer to AppleTV under Computers>iTunes library name>Rentals.

Well, think about it. This is a Lightroom forum. We are here to answer questions about Lightroom and how to solve problems in Lightroom. Your permissions issue is an operating system issue, not a Lightroom issue. I didn't mean to be sarcastic. But there are plenty of Internet resources that will answer that question.
I just went to Google and typed in "change disk permissions", and there are links for the Mac as well as for Windows listed. There's no sense in me rewriting instructions that are already available.

Limit Preview Size. Which setting are you using?

I'm not exactly sure how the Limit Preview Size preference affects my workflow. Which setting are you using, and why?
My preference is currently set to the v2.0 default 1/2 Size. My iMac's resolution is 1680x1050, and I'm using the Canon EOS 1D Mark III taking full size RAW images at 3888x2592.

I use the default (which is 1/2 size) with no ill effects. Previews are used by external programs to gain access to photos in your Aperture library. (This is not the way your external editor works, though.) Your preview size will not affect your workflow. When previews are turned on, Aperture works on generating previews when you have something new of which to make a preview. I seriously doubt that making a small copy, versus making a smaller copy, would affect how long it takes Aperture (and therefore, how sluggish Aperture might appear.) The difference between making previews and not making previews can be significant.

Terminal command which set background a picture

i am search 2 days now to find a terminal command which set a picture as wallpaper but i didnt find anything.

I found that this set as background the screen saver. I tried use the path of wallpaper and then -bakcground but i got the message "permission denied".

you can call an apple script from a shell script using osascript command. You can also directly embed it into a shell script using osascript with -e switch.

Which Setting do i use in Compressor?

I am a total newbie in Compressor.
I have edited my video in FCP and now i need to know which setting to use in Compressor to render my video. I had used youtube sharing H.264 at 8 MBPS with AAC 44.1kHz Audio but the quality is just not good enough although i do like the file sizes being small around 24mb per video.
The videos are to be used for the web, i have a number of videos to be rendered and they are all about 3 - 5 min long. They were recorded in HD and i would like to keep the HD look without having a massive file size. I would like them to be clean and crisp with exceeding 100mb if possible in fact if they were lower that would be better.

When I export, I leave the bit rate blank, and quality at high, key frames automatic.. For audio, I use 32Kbps... Start from there then tweak it until you get a smaller file size... you may need to make the diemsions smaller...

It depends on if it is a replacement for an older device. If so, then set-up as new from backup.
If you are using both devices, they can be set up as separate devices, yet sync information through your iCloud account.

Streaming movie - which setting?

It's a real puzzle.
I have a short 8 min. movie I'm trying to export from FCE as a streamed movie...one which, as I understand it, can be played right away, if only with a short time needed to download more of it to the site* similar to the movies on the Apple Store.
Anyway, I've tried several possibilities, without success, and what I seem to end up with is a QT file that must be downloaded before watching. A.) I don't want to have site visitors have to wait 5 minutes, and B.) I don't really want them to take possession of this movie as a file.
So, in FCE's Export to QuickTime Conversion, I see a number of likely options:
Under Format, I see DV Stream and Mpeg 4
Under Use, I see Broadband High,Medium and Low, as well as Dial-up and Medium and Low Streaming
Under Options, there's: Fast Start, Compressor Header and Hinted Streaming.
Which one works???
I've tried several already, and Fast Start is too big a file. Also setting it on DV Streaming doesn't get me an internet ready file...again, a 5 min. download.
That leaves Hinted? or???
Once again, I'm afraid the manual isn't clear on this, and sorry to say, I couldn't get results from Tom Wolsky's FCE 3.5 book, either.

PS Is QuickTime Pro the miracle Swiss Army knife that would solve all issues? Would Pro also convert to Windows Media Player files?
* The funny thing is, I've done this without problem using an ancient OS 9 encoder called Terran Cleaner 5 EZ - but for some reason, when I try it with this movie, it leaves out the narrative soundtrack. (yes, I've tried settings every which way till Sunday, incl. Mono, Stereo, Sum to Mono, Pan left and right...etc.)

you can export using the QuickTime conversion, in a QuickTime movie format.
Use the H.264 compression, set all the values (you can limit the quality to certain Mbit/s, optimized for download).
Then activate the prepare for internet option and choose Fast start if you are not going to a streaming server.
In this way the movie will be progressively downloaded and once there is a enough download, it will start playing at the user player.
The hinted option is when your webserver provides streaming feature (you need to ask your webmaster if you have that feature or not).

I have developed a xml report and in that rtf am displaying a static image (which is set as behin text).
But i need to display the image based on some condition
for example i have a field as ORG_ID
if org_id=87 then image should display for that purpose am planning to use <?if:ORG_ID=87?> condition but where to place this condition for the image.

in my out put page am displaying item details ,quantity,and cost and customer details just like invoice copy .
behind this data am displaying my company logo which will capture whole page size..
if i place the image in table then fields will be automatically in table so i cant restrict image in this way.
Kindly suggest any other way that works only for image which is behind text. i mean condition should be applicable only for image and leaving all other fileds in rtf.
or
help on this how to set a dynamic image as behind the text.

FCProp 6: Which setting for the best quality encoding (capture)?

i am producing contents from HDV cam (Sony Z1) and i just saw one of my colleagues (journalist too) working on Adobe Premiere having a really better final report than my one (using the same tape).
i just wonder if someone could explain what would be the best workflow to get the best quality on a standard DVD (not the next generation)?
our reports are based on Fashion, so we are using some filters for some of the images. i heared about the RS422 or something like that wich is the new aple encoder ? am i right ? is this what should be used for the capture and rendering files ?
what about the export encoding setting? movies are all under 10min duration

I use FCPX/iDVD regularly to make DVDs. Workflow is to edit 1080i project in FCPX, add chapter markers, and export video using Share -> Master File (default) with no changes.
The resulting .mov file is then imported to iDVD with various themes, etc. and "Save as Disk Image" is used to create a burnable file for creating DVDs with Disk Utility.
Be aware that the titling of chapter markers is flaky and you may have to retitle them in iDVD as the name from FCPX is not always saved. No big deal.
I also use MPEG Streamc;ip to create a 128//720 mp4 file which goes readily into iTunes and then i synced to my iPad for portable show and tell. Have to confess that I have Compressor too, but have never used it and from following the forums get the impression that it's not easy to use. MS works fine for my limited purposes

Which setting takes priority??

I have an user base of 500 users.I do not want to schedule the reports.
All the users will open the reports and view the data.
Since there are 500 users they do not want the users to hit the database 500 times.
They want to make use of the Cache TImeout Setting in the properties of the Webi Processing server.
So as long as the users are passing the same prompt values it will fetch the same data from the cache.
Say if the Cache Timeout Setting is set to 60 minutes.This will mean that for one hour if any user passes the same prompts he is going to get the same data from the cache and it will NOT go back to the database to refresh the query.
The problem or question here is:How do I make use of this Cache Timeout Setting in a webi report ?
To elaborate...
If the user just opens a report(since it is not a scheduled report) he will see a blank report .
I can check the box "Refresh on Open" and it will go back to the database and refresh and show data on the report.
What happens to the Cache Timeout Setting value then? Does the Refresh on Open overide the Cache Timeout Setting then?
Will that value still be honored or will not be because it is refresh on open.
Which settign takes priority here.
Any input is highly appreciated.

Hi ,
Covering 100% of Reports trough webi Caching is a big chalenge .. so far i know there is no Physical cahing for Webi it s only Memory caching. To cover that for 500 Users every 60 minutes for N Reports .. I m not sure if it s the right way ..
do the users realy need 60 Minutes young data or would they be satisfied with daily reports. in this case i would consider distributing reports daily via Email. If the reports has to be persinalized u could burst them also ..
