Which site should I create, html or php
I am a beginner to web design and need to create a political website. The most complicated features I want to create on my website would be: polls, forms to collect visitor information, and discussion groups.
Can I do this with a simple html site or do I need to set up a dynamic site. If a dynamic site, should I pick php or cold fusion? I understand the concept of the website working with a database, what is overwhelming to me is setting up the testing process and how my site will work with my hosting server.
Thank you!
Deb,
Before you dive into particular programming language, I suggest you consider how far you want to take it. There are simple tricks you can do with both and then there's complex programming that requires preferably a computer science or similar degree to properly implement. Of course it helps to be initially exposed to a number of technologies, but at some point you have to focus your energies on a finite set and become an expert in it, constantly following updates and new releases. It sounds like you're going toward front end development, in which case JS is more preferable to PHP; once you say you're a PHP programmer, that implies understanding MySQL databases, LAMP server configurations and server side scripting. As someone running a web development shop since late 90's, I advise you go with JavaScript.
In any case, best of luck!

Which Reports should be done in BI & which Reports in ECC/ABAP
Hi,
We are implementing SAP ECC & BI in Laggard manner or near simultaneously. Now I as a BI consultant need to suggest which reports should be created in BI & which ones in ECC itself?
I understand that more aggregated, summarised or analytical sorts of reports, also those which need slice & dice & drilldown during navigation should be in BI.
But also apart from these points is there any thumb rules or fundas to decide??
Pl give me ur guidence generously...
Regards,,,It's look like your client first time using BI system, He might be aware or not aware of ECC.
It's happen mostly that when ECC & BI Immplemention happen simultiounsly, That time Client's as well as Project Management team concentration on ECC not on BW.
1) You check on which Functional Modules reports client is expecting.
2) Then check and install Standard Data flow and reports in your SandBox.
3) Then show thease reports of respective module to your Functional team so they also be understand what is possible in BW or not possible.
4) If your Functional team satisfy with the report's output. Then take training programe for user (Not everybody but few people from Client side). Once they understand how system is working then they will come with their requirement. There your job as Techo-Functional consultant "Can it is possible in BW side with respect to business logic?" there you are have decide.

Why is my flash content not working on my dreamweaver created html site?
This is a problem that's happening on my website I'm creating. I created a quick test website to show you the problem on the fourm. It's the same problem, and if you can provide the solution to this test website I can apply it to my main website.
Test website on server:
test331754952.net23.net
What I did:
-launched flash
-typed "test" and made it spin 360 degrees
-published swf
-launched dreamweaver
-created a site
-moved swf to site folder
-saved a html file to the site folder
-in dreamweaver, went to insert, media, swf, then selected the swf I made
-it inserted the swf, creating a gray placeholder for it
-re-saved the html document, at which point dreamweaver created a folder named script and 2 files, an swf, and a javascript file
Site Directory:
Scripts Sub-Directory:
What happens:
-when I launch the swf on my machine, it plays fine
-when I open the swf directly on the test website on the server, it plays fine
-when I open the html with the embended swf on the test website on the server, it shows a gray box, then goes white
-In dreamweaver, when I go to preview in browser and choose internet explorer, it tells me I don't have new flashplayer(I do: flashplayer 11)
Ie also pokes up a box at the bottom that says its not allowing content. When I click allow content, it creates a gray box
-In dreamweaver, when I go to preview in borwser and choose google chrome, it tells me flash player has stopped a potentionally unsafe operation. When I close this dialog box, it gives me a gray box where my swf should be embeded.
-I've tried changing global flash secuirty setting and it does nothing
-I've tried visiting the test website on multiple computers in my household to no avail
-I've tried having friends visit the site on their computer at their house to no avail
-I did't touch the code on this test website-the code is exactly what dreamweaver generated

Can someone please help! I've looked and tried prety much everything. If you can provide a solution I would GREATLY apreciate it!There is no Flash player version 15... as in your code:
<param name="swfversion" value="15.0.0.0" />
For some reason Adobe thought it would be a good idea to target a Flash player version (15) as default.....which may be out a couple years in the future. Go figure!!!
If you don't like player version 9, change to 10 or 11.... just not 15 (yet).
Best wishes,

Consider the following html code where I open a textarea and include a comment tag within the textarea. Within the comment tag (which Firefox 4 should ignore) I've included a close textarea tag. Firefox 4 (unlike FF3 and IE) closes the textarea.
The following code is also available at
http://www.cems.uwe.ac.uk/caa/ffbug/index.html
We are about to start a textarea....<p>
<pre><nowiki><textarea rows='20' cols='40'>
Here is the textarea.
Inside these comment blocks I'll put a close textarea tag which Firefox should ignore but does not.
<p>
<!--
We are now inside comment blocks...
<br>
This code should be inside the text area.<br>
</textarea>
<br>
and so should this code be <b>inside</b> the text area (but is not in Firefox 4).
-->
</textarea>
<p></nowiki></pre>
This code should be outside the textbox.Try posting at the Web Development / Standards Evangelism forum at MozillaZine. The helpers over there are more knowledgeable about web page development issues with Firefox. <br />

How to create FrameMaker glossary entries which convert properly to RoboHelp HTML 8?
I have been having a challenging time creating FrameMaker 9 glossary
entries which convert properly into RoboHelp HTML 8. Here is the process I'm doing, and perhaps someone call tell me what I'm doing wrong.
1.) In the FrameMaker document, I highlight a word or phrase which serves as the "glossary term" to be defined.
2.) I open the Marker dialog box, select the Glossary option, then enter the "glossary definition" for the highlighted "glossary term." I commit the entry.
3.) In the FrameMaker Book file, I create a new "Index of Markers" (IOM) of "Glossary" type. Upon generation of the IOM, my FrameMaker output is much like a standard index: There are letter delimiters ("A," "B," C," etc.), and under each is the "glossary definition," then a page number where the "glossary term" is.
4.) Now I go to RoboHelp HTML 8 and update the document there. The glossary displays such that the "glossary term" is the entire paragraph in which the marker had been placed in the FrameMaker source file. The "glossary definition" is displayed properly (the text I placed into the Marker dialog box.
So, how am I to create auto-generating glossaries? This implies that I need to create a manual glossary whereby the "glossary term" is in a paragraph by itself (much like a printed glossary would look). Furthermore, I would need to add this manual glossary as a file in the FrameMaker Book file for RoboHelp 8 to detect and pull the entries.
Surely this isn't as how it was designed. I suspect I'm doing something wrong in how I create glossary entries or create the file in the FrameMaker Book file.
Could someone offer some assistance?
Thank you very much in advance!
Most sincerely,
Sammy SpencerIt's because you're doing your markers backwards. The text inside your Glossary marker should be the term. The paragraph your marker is inside is the definition.
I should say, rather, that Robohelp does it backwards, because when I think of glossary terms and definitions, I think there should be a way to highlight a word and provide the definition in the hidden marker, not hide the term inside the marker.
I am still figuring out how to make a glossary in my Framemaker file that will work with my Robohelp file, and not have Robohelp generate a separate content file for the glossary file. I think I'll get it, though. Eventually. -
How to find out sub site name from which sub site template is created - in solution gallery
hi,
i am having an issue in my "save site as a template". i have created a subsite few weeks back with doc libs and splists, disc.forum and based on the template subsite I have created new subsites. now
as per my new requirement i need to add new doclibs and few columns in these doc lib. But I am unable to find which sub site was taken as a template.since i have many subsites with different names, I forgott
to make meaningful names, i gave some datetime for the templatesubsites,
like project_27_jul_2pm,project_20_jul_7pm, etc etc.
So would like to know, is it possible to find out from which subsite I have taken/prepared the template subsite.
any APIs are available or any power shell scripts. such that i can find out from which subsite i have created this sub site template.check this

Good day!
Instead of buying right away you may want to avail yourself of the free 30 day trial first to see which program fits your needs.
Photoshop and Photoshop Elements may be worth a try.
If you intend to create more graphic/typographic designs Illustrator may be worth looking into, too.
Someone else may have more/other recommendations, though.

Create HTML Contact Form with PHP script
Hi Everyone
I have designed a contact form in HTML with PHP script but it doesn't seem to be working. The PHP echo message doesn't appear after I submit the form and the e-mail message is not delivered. The url address is http://www.dreamaustraliastudytours.com.au/Test/ContactUs.html. Any thoughts would be greatly apprecipated
Thank you in advance
PaulHi Ben and Murray
Thank you for your input on the php script. You nailed the problem on the head. I have up dated the script and provided it below. I have one more question.
After the end user submits the form I would like them to be directed to another html file - for example successful.html. Would the code be
$insertGoTo = "successful.html";
delete 'Thank you for contacting us. We will be in touch with you very soon.'?
Once again thank you for your advice

Paul

you can crate 3d models in any number of graphics programs. swift3d is especially designed to use with flash.
i'm not sure what kind of interaction you want but that would probably be coded in flash. -

Site not getting created in SharePoint 2013.
Hi,
I am trying to create site in 2013. while creating site, it is taking long time and after some time tried refresh the page, it shows site created. But when i click on created site, it shows empty page. i am not getting errors or event logs. what will be
the error. Could some one please help me in creating site with working fine.
Thanks,
Badri.
BadriHi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you get a blank page when you create a new site.
To narrow down the issue scope, I recommend that you can try to test the following things.
1. What’s the type of this site you created in this site collectionCreate a new different types site in this site collections to check if this issue is occurred on the only site collection in this web application.
Create a new site collection in another web application to check if this issue is occurred on the only web application.
Create a new web application, create a new site collection in this new web application to test if it works.
If you are then the odds are that something went wrong during the provisioning of the original web application.
And, you can add your URL for this site to “trusted sites” in IE.
http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/60957/external-access-gives-a-blank-home-page
2. Do you use the administrator account to login the site?
You can use the administrator account to login the site, then check the permission of your account.
Maybe your account has no permission to access the site, you can assign it Full Control permission, then check whether it works.
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4742175/new-site-collection-is-empty-sharepoint-2010
3. Go to the IIS and select the respective web application. Here, I have selected the web application to which the site collection belongs to.
Double click the Authentication icon.
Set the status of ‘Basic Authentication’ from “Disabled” to “Enabled”.

http://sensoft2000-sharepoint.blogspot.com/2010/06/getting-blank-page-instead-of-central.html
4. Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off >Internet Information Services > World Wide Web Services > Security >tick ‘Windows Authentication’, do an IISReset for good measure.
To be more specific, check the authentication settings for SharePoint Central Administration website in IIS. Make sure that you have Windows Authentication enabled and Anonymous Authentication disabled.

http://blogs.objectsharp.com/post/2010/01/04/Blank-page-instead-of-the-SharePoint-Central-Administration-site.aspx
5. Run the following power shell command to disable the LoopbackCheck.
New-ItemProperty HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa -Name "DisableLoopbackCheck" -value "1" -PropertyType dword
You may have to restart the servers and will have run this from all of your SharePoint servers.
You can also navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa in registry and create the dword32 for DisableLoopbackCheck, modify the value to 1.

If the issue persists, please check the ULS log file to find more information about this issue.
For SharePoint 2013, by default, ULS log is at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS.

and then he will write html codes on saving it should be saved as HTML doc in UCM.
and publisher should be able to display it on portal(may be using content presenter).
please help me in this. I know there is rich text editor task flow which can save a doc as doc file.
and in spaces we have option of creating HTLM file but i don't know how to do it for my portal.
ThanksA better way would be to create the page using approach in this blog:
https://blogs.oracle.com/ATEAM_WEBCENTER/entry/content_presenter_cmis_complete
That way the page can be edited inline and the html author need not upload html to ucm everytime.
