  • How do I count the number of records returned in the CMIS query

How do I count the number of records returned in the query CMIS?
    SELECT COUNT(*) FROM ora:t:IDC:GlobalProfile WHERE ora:p:xRegionDefinition = \'RD_PROJETOS_EXCLUSIVOS\''}
    Euler Homero

    Hi Euler,
interestingly enough, the reference guide for CMIS ( http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/CMIS_Query_Language ) that I found does not mention the COUNT function at all. On the other hand it states that: "The SELECT clause identifies which virtual columns to return in the result set. It can be either a comma-separated list of one or more queryNames of properties that are defined by queryable object types or * for all virtual columns."
There are, however, some other posts like e.g. http://alfrescoshare.wordpress.com/2010/01/20/count-the-total-number-of-documents-in-alfresco-using-sql/ which state that they could make it working.
Having asked in the WebCenter Portal forum, I assume that your content repository is WebCenter Content. The CMIS doc for the Content is available here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e15813.pdf (no COUNT there either). It does, however, mention explicitly that "CMIS queries return a Result Set where each Entry object will contain only the properties that were specified in the query.". This means your could rather investigate the Result Set. Note that there are also other means than CMIS how to get the requested result set (e.g. calling a search service directly via so-called RIDC).
In the given context I am also interested what your use case is. OOTB CMIS in WebCenter Portal is used, for instance, in Content Presenter, where it is content rather than "parameters" what's displayed.

  • Returning the number of records retrieved by a query

    Hi everyone,
I did a search on this question, but I'm still unclear as to why it's so difficult to retrieve the number of records returned by a query.
What is the easiest and most straight-foward way ?
    Thanks,
    Bob

    Shay
I am confused. I still do not know how to achieve the count of records retrieved in a block. I have viewed the viewlet calculated field demo. I am unclear of what you were refering to when you said use the count as the function.
I did try setting function to be "get_block_property('myblock',query_hits)", but this always had value of zero. But I do not think this is what you meant.
Has anybody been able to answer the original question?

  • Variable to hold the number of records returned by the SQL Query.

    Hi folks,
Is there any way to hold the number of records that could be returned by the SQL query we use to make a report?
If so, please do come up with the answer.
    Cheers,
    PCZ.

    Hi there,
Well, there is no actual business requirement.
It is just the curiosity of mine.
    I would like to handle
    1) the number of records our report query returns or
    2) the query itself
to write a better pl/sql code in any trigger/program unit, if any business logic beckons in future.
    Cheers,

  • How-To Display the Number of Records Returned from a List to the User?

We currently are using lists to identify accounts that meet various criteria. Because the territories vary from 4k to 60k customers the users have stated that they don't know the size of the list and therefore don't know if they need to refine the list. Currently they are exporting to Excel to look at the row count to see if they need to further refine their searches. This takes quite a while and while shuffling through many lists is a bit painful. Isn't there a way to just show the total records returned from the list down at the bottom of the screen where it allows you to see 25/50/75/100 records at a time?
There is probably a simple way to do this but it is a large user dissatisfier at the time because we simply don't know how to make this show up. Again we are using lists and not analytics for simple lists at this time.

    Hi,
Regarding this one OSS message is already raised. Stilll it has to be solved in further SPs
you can go for this work around - After executing the Query in Web, click on value help of the Variable screen. in the Selector Change the maximum values displayed. and refresh you can get the specified number of values

  • Applescript - how can I count the number of records in a Word data source?

I have written a script in AppleScript to open Word and then perform a mail merge from a data source and everything is working fine.
One thing I want to do but am struggling with is to return the number of records in the mail merge.
    I am trying things like:
get last record of datasource of mydatasource
and also haven't been able to find anything in the AppleScript 2004 Word Reference Guide.
Can anyone help as I have been searching the web and trying things all day and I am sure it can't be difficult.
    Thank you.

I don't think there is an automatic way to get a line count, but I don't have any problem just counting the lines on a page. Maybe some more information about what you are trying to do and why you can't do it would help someone to come up with a helpful suggestion.

  • How to find the number of records in ods?

how to find the number of records in ods?
Pls suggest the solution apart going to the table of ods and seeing the number of records.
Is there any program or function module to see the number of records in ods?
For eg: SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS is a program which gives the detail (number of records) of infocube.

    Hi,
I was looking at this and found the following tables that may be of help.
One of these tables will include a summary of the record count of all the tables in your system based on the last time each table had it's database statistics calculated:
    DBSTATTADA
    DBSTATTDB2
    DBSTATTDB4
    DBSTATTDB6
    DBSTATTINF
    DBSTATTMSS
    DBSTATTORA
We run on an Oracle database so the table record counts can be taken from DBSTATTORA. Type in AZ in table selection field in SE16 to restrict the output to ODS (or DSO) tables only.
The record count is at the time indicated in the timestamp field. Obviously this is not real time but should not be too out of date - if it is you may be having performance issues and should get your DBA / Basis to run a full refresh of DB stats.
Hope this helps, alhtough not real time the table should give you a decent indication of the size of all your ODS objects (or any other table for that matter!)

  • BAPI to find the number of records existing in HR module

    Hi ,
I wanted to know if there exist BAPI  that would return me the number of SAP HR module users in a system.
I cam across the BAPI's for info types like  personu2019s Personal Data (Infotype 0002)
    BAPI_PERSDATA_CHANGE u2013 Change personal data
    BAPI_PERSDATA_CREATE u2013 Create personal data
BAPI_PERSDATA_CREATESUCCESSOR u2013 Create subsequent personal data record
    BAPI_PERSDATA_DELETE u2013 Delete personal data
BAPI_PERSDATA_DELIMIT u2013 Delimit personal data validity period
    BAPI_PERSDATA_GETDETAIL u2013 Read personal data
BAPI_PERSDATA_GETDETAILEDLIST u2013 read instances with data
    BAPI_PERSDATA_GETLIST u2013 Read instances
But i wanted to know if there exist a master table which would  return me the number of records irresepctive of the  infotypes.
    Best Regards
    Manoj

    Hi,
if you want to know the number of employees, then u should  use the infotype PA00001 and PA0000 with appropriate criteria. Infotype PA0002 should not be used to find the number of employees in the HR.
As you requested there are no specific BAPI to find the records. Hope this helps you.
Or u can use PAR2 transaction to find details.

  • Oracle Procedure returning more number of records

    Hi,
I have created an Oracle Procedure which is supposed to fetch a record as per the input parameter passed.
The core query in the procedure is as below -
SELECT DISTINCT col1 FROM my_tab WHERE col2 = 'Input parameter'
Few of the input parms (col2) has more number of records (col1) and so the procedure gives an error like -
'ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows'
Could you please let me know how can I modify the procedure so that it would return more number of records as the case may be?
    Thank you!

It still gives me the same error when it encounters more than one output.Yes, I'm sure it does.
But we can't tell you how to fix it because we don't know what you want.
What's the purpose of the procedure?
Is it to "spell check" the name of an intermediary? If so, you'll need to figure out what to do when you have more then one person with the same name.
You can add AND ROWNUM = 1. Or perhaps you can trap the too_many_rows exception.
Your procedure doesn't return anything (no out variables). Is that correct?
Or is the purpose of the procedure to return the ID of the matching name?

  • How to calculate the number of records in Multiprovider

    Hi Experts
I have created a report based on the multiprovider (Consist of Cube and ODS)
I need count the number of records inside the multiprovider, how can i do it in the reporting level
    Regards
    Santosh

    Hi,
You can use calculated key figure with replacement path variable.
    Follow This:
    1) From the context menu of the Key Figure directory, choose New Calculated Key Figure.
    2) From the context menu for the Formula Variable, choose New Variable.
    3) Choose the Processing type as Replacement Path.
    4) In the next screen, select the Characteristic Info Object based on which the number of documents is to be displayed in the report (For example: Document Number / Order Number).
    5) Choose Next.
In the Replace Variable with drop down box, choose Attribute Value.
In the Attribute drop down, select Characteristic Reference (Constant 1).
    6)Choose Next.
On the Save Variable page, an overview of the settings made for the variable will be displayed.
Confirm the entries and Choose Finish.
    7) If the Formula variable is directly assigned to the Calculated Key Figure, a warning Calculated Key Figure is not defined correctly will be displayed while executing the Query.
    8) Properties of Calculated Key Figure dialog box, assign a Technical name for the CKF.
    9) set the Time of Calculation to After Aggregation.
    Hope this will help you.
    Cheers,

  • IS THERE A FUNCTION TO RETURN THE NUMBER OF MONTHS OR DAYS?

I know that you can do a months between function between 2 dates divided by 12 and get years but is there a function that can return the number of months between 2 dates or the number of days between 2 dates in a select statement for a report? These 2 dates are entered in an Oracle forms.
    I have 2 dates.
    BEG_SVC_DT 30-JUL-1995 DATE FORMAT
    END_SVC_DT 981007 VARCHAR2 FORMAT Positions 5 and 6 are the days.
    I must subtract BEG_SVC_DT from END_SVC_DT.
    In PLSQL I add 31 to 07 and get 38. I subtract 30 from 38 and get 8.
    or I have 2 dates
    BEG_SVC_DT 10-JAN-2003 DATE FORMAT
    END_SVC_DT 050924 VARCHAR2 FORMAT Positions 5 and 6 are the days.
    I must subtract BEG_SVC_DT from END_SVC_DT.
In PLSQL I subtract 10 from 24 and get 14.
In both scenarios the end_dt field must be VARCHAR2 because the user has to enter the word 'PRESENT' . Is there a function in SQL that would compute the
number of days between 2 dates?
Is there a function to get the number of months between 2 dates?
    I have 2 dates.
    BEG_SVC_DT 12-JUL-2004 DATE FORMAT
    END_SVC_DT 050807 VARCHAR2 FORMAT Positions 3 and 4 are months.
    I must subtract BEG_SVC_DT from END_SVC_DT
    JUL is the 7th month.
In PLSQL, I subtract 07 from 08 and get 01
    Or I have 2 dates
    BEG_SVC_DT 13-NOV-2004 DATE FORMAT
    END_SVC_DT 050429 VARCHAR2 FORMAT Positions 3 and 4 are months.
    I must subtract BEG_SVC_DT from END_SVC_DT.
NOV is the eleventh month. 04 is less than 11.
In PLSQL I have to add 12 to 04 and subtract 11 from 16 to get 05.
In both scenarios, the end_dt field must be VARCHAR2 because the user has to enter the word 'PRESENT'. In SQL, is there a function to compute the number of months between 2 dates?
I am doing my calculations this way because this is the way that the user has been doing them when they created the report manually.
The database that I am using is Oracle 9.2.0.6
    Report Writer Report Builder 6.0.8.22.0
    Forms 6.0.8.22.1

    In your example:
    BEG_SVC_DT 30-JUL-1995 DATE FORMAT
    END_SVC_DT 981007 VARCHAR2 FORMAT Positions 5 and 6 are the days.
    I must subtract BEG_SVC_DT from END_SVC_DT.
    In PLSQL I add 31 to 07 and get 38. I subtract 30 from 38 and get 8.
Where is the "31" depending on, on year and month of BEG_SVC_DT or END_SVC_DT?
What would be the answer for the following example
    BEG_SVC_DT 25-FEB-1995 DATE FORMAT
    END_SVC_DT 980407 VARCHAR2 FORMAT
    Do I add 28 (=number of days in FEB-1995),
    or 30 (=number of days in APR-1998),
or 31 (= max number of days in any month?)

any table for program to get the number of records in P, A and F tables. I want to create SQ01 queries to get the status of number of records. We are gng for a production cutover next week. Want to capture all the data before and after Upgrade cutover.
Also suggest me how to create sq01 queries.
    Thanks in advance

Use Transaction LISTSCHEMA to see all the tables assosciated with ur cube
Total number would be what you find in both the E & F fact tables. If there is no compression in the cube then E table will be empty.
Alternatively u can use se16 transaction and enter E table and F table manually
    E table - /BIC/E(Cube name) and Ftable -  /BIC/F(Cube name)
Or else u can go to the manage of the cube and without selecting any field for O/P and ticking the option output number of hits execute. The total of Row Count will give u the total no of records in the cube.
