Which update do I download: 10.8.4 or 10.8.4 (Combo)?
I have an early 2009 iMac (model id iMac9,1) running 10.8.3 (build 12D78). At support.apple.com/downloads I'm presented with two updates: version 10.8.4 with no suffix--apparently the cooking variety, and 10.8.4 (Combo). The cooking variety download is 342 MB while the Combo download is 810 MB. It's clear, even to me, that there's a whole lot more in the latter than in the former. One article, HT5730, is cited for both and offers no distinctions. There is no guidance about which to choose. Can someone point me in the right direction?

IMHO download and install the Combo Update. I have always used them as they update everything from 10.8 in completeness, whereas the incremental updates are only updating the improvements made in the new version, if that makes sense. So I would suggest to always use the Combo.

Thanks....when i go to the version it shows 10.8 when i go to software update it returns to the update menu and that is where iphoto is awaiting an update. when you click update, it show you must have 10.8.2 or later to update iphoto and the cycle continues. when i went looking at the downloads page in apple support it showed some patches i guess for OS X....is that what i need at this point?

My apps are not updating as I have no longer access to my eariler apple Id and now I am using a new apple Id which is allowing to download apps but while updating those apps my iPod wants eariler apple Id password to update what should I do ?

Those apps are forever tied to the Apple ID they were purchased under. You can either delete them and re-purchase them, or you can go to Manage your Apple ID and reset the password on the old Apple ID so you can use it to update your apps: Apple - My Apple ID
If you decide to continue to use them under the old ID password, I would suggest that when you reset that password, you change it to be the same password as the one you are currently using. That way when apps need to be updated you will only need to know one password and you won't have to be concerned with which Apple ID is displaying.

i just update my iPhone which was previously jailbreaked when i update it after downloading all the file it start to show the apple logo for a moment and it went and completely turned off i tried to connect through iTunes but it doesn't show any iPhone connected to itunes

Their is two new Updates that are the same for the OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.5, except one has {Combo}. Which one do i download? The info on them are the same.
It appears Apple’s download servers are ‘overwhelmed’ today. I couldn’t download the newest iTunes update or IOS 7 and there are a lot of discussions today about not being able to download. One poster said they had chatted with App Store support who confirmed the problem.

Installed the CC updates yesterday. Downloaded pics from my Canon 70D in Camera Raw. Since the updates Bridge no longer recognizes them; advises me to get the latest update, which I have. Both Photoshop CC's recognize the pics, just not Bridge (thanks for having Photoshop now show thumbnails of CR pics). Any Ideas on how to fix?

Even with that link though, I was still left puzzled as it didn't give multiple versions, just a 32 bit and 64 bit version.
I tried the 64 bit and it didn't work, so I assumed that was what had already been installed in the update.
Now installed the 32 bit version, and fingers crossed. At least it starts up now!

Have personal Apple ID account which allows me to download apple apps but when I go to update the apps Apple ID pops up thats not mine and cannot log in to update apps. Brand new IPAD never any other user
Is the AppleID listed in Settings --> Store and Settings --> iCloud the same?
If it is a totally different ID and not a slight variation of yours, I would definitely take it back to the store. You may have bought a returned item that had been setup previously. -
My iPad is operating on iOS 5.1.1 and will not support certain apps which I want to download as they say I require at least iOS 6. I have checked my updates and this says that I have the correct settings
Correct, the iPad 1 can not be upgraded beyond 5.1.1.

None. That's the latest version of iPhoto 08 that you have.
To upgrade to a newer version (iPhoto 09 or iPhoto 11) require a purchase.

You may need to download the update from the Adobe Download site (Windows: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform= Windows). These updates typically have to be installed in order unless the downloads indicate otherwise.

Hi can anyone help? I have an Iphone 4 which I tried to download ios7 to, but it says on screen, connect to itunes, which I have tried, but it says I need the original cd? I dont recall receiving one, so does this mean the phone has to be reset, if so how?

I can't watch a video with the extension mpg or avi or anyother one using flexplayer for my ipad. Which player i can download to watch the videos that i receive in my email?
Unfortunatelly, something’s not working fine on Flexplayer during the last cupple of months. A lot of updates have been released lately and the problems persist. Since iOS 6 was on the air, the problems became even worst. It’s a shame, but I think it’s time to change the app we are using. The alternative I found is 8Player, it works fine, similar to Flexplayer (but nicer interfase), and the best is that it supports “.flv” (not sure Flexplayer did). You can save your files to your hard disc using iTunes and then transfer them again to your idevice, once you’ve installed 8Player. I hope this helps. Bye bye Flexplayer!!

Don't use the Software Update in Preferences - download the Combo Updater !
Software Update failed and I had to archive/install back to 10.5 - just download the Combo Updater and you should be ok.
To close this thread - the Combo update worked perfectly and my machine is exactly how it was before starting the update process - except for about 12 gig, which I assume the archive/install ate up.

How to actually update Firefox after download.
I have Ubuntu (not sure which version), and just downloaded Firefox 6 update. After the download, I extracted all the files from the zip folder. Now, I am not sure what to do. I cannot find anything that says "update here" or anything like that. How do I actually complete the update from here?
