While trimming a voice memo, how to listen to a particular section?

While trimming a voice memo, how does one listen to a particular section of the clip? The blue line shows when you click play but it can't be moved manually. On iOS 6 it was possible by moving the circle, but on iOS 7 the blue line doesn't move at all while trimming, which is VERY annoying when you want to hear the adjustments you made. So pressing the play button works ONCE, then you have to wait until the entire clip is played (could be a full minute) before you can listen to the beginning again to see if the trim is alright. Horrible UX design flaw.
Am I missing something? MAKE THE BLUE LINE MOVABLE!

its the othr way around

I did the update to my iPhone 4 and I loose my voice memos how can I recover them?

Once it's in recovery mode, everything on the phone is already gone.  If you've been backing it up and syncing on a regular basis, it should restore just fine.

  • How do I trim a voice memo file saved on a Mac?

How do I trim a voice message that has been saved as a file in the Mac's itunes music folder called voice memos?

    Is this what you're doing:
To trim the recording click the Trim Memo button. You will see a blue progress bar with a yellow handle on the left and on the right. Drag the handles to set the start and end of the clip. Press the play button to confirm it sounds ok then press the large Trim Voice Memo to finalize your cut.

  • Voice Memos- How to move from iphone 3GS to Mac?

Okay. How do I move a voice memo from my iPhone 3GS to my Mac? All software and hardware is current. All I want to do is move voice memos from iPhone to my Mac. Memos are 30 minutes plus and cannot email from iphone. So I want to move to my Mac and email if I want. How to? thanks! rr

    Syncing Voice Memos
iTunes automatically syncs voice memos to your iTunes library when you connect iPhone to your computer. This lets you listen to voice memos on your computer and provides a backup if you delete them from iPhone.
Voice memos are synced to the Voice Memos playlist. iTunes creates the playlist if it doesn’t exist. When you sync voice memos to iTunes, they remain in the Voice Memos application until you delete them. If you delete a voice memo on iPhone, it isn’t deleted from the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes. However, if you delete a voice memo from iTunes, it is deleted from iPhone the next time you sync with iTunes.

  • Voice Memos How to email large memo's

I've noticed quite a few people mentioning they take large voice memo's ie: larger than 1 hour.
Thanks to loads of older posts I've figured out how to get my 1 1/2 hour memo onto my PC and how to convert it to MP3.
But how can I email it??? Zipping doesn't reduce it enough, how can I send this to others?? Any suggestions?

Upload it to some cloud/web drive and email whomever you want the link?

  • Voice Memo won't play on MacBook?

A few days ago I went to a play and recorded the whole thing using voice memo for a friend of mine. The first act was close to 3 hours, and the second act was about an hour and a half. I recorded both acts seperately.
At first I planned on emailing it to my friend and tried to do so after the play. The files were too large so I attempted to trim them. Nothing seemed to be happening so I just stopped. The next day I synced my iPhone 4 to my Macbook but the only voice memos that synced was the one from the second act and a previous memo that was about six minutes long.
I downloaded iPhone Explorer and it showed all of my files. However the only ones I can listen to are the six minute memo and the one from the second act.
The six minute memo has the black album art with the gray music note, and the memos from the play are white with the blue iTunes symbol and say "MPEG 4".
Also, it seems that the memo from the first act did get trimmed because two files show up and one of them ends in "trimmed.m4a" instead of ".m4a".
Is there any way for me to recover/listen to the first act of the file? Thanks in advance.
ALSO All three of the voice memos can be listened to on my iPhone.

Im sick of this bug and Im Dying for help!!!
I lost a punch of uniquely high important records !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are these records can be fixed or is it already corrupt files????

  • Iphone 5 voice memo retrieval

I trimmed my voice memo in error.
how can i retrieve the original recording?

Unfortunately not, unless you have it backed up. If you have it backed up though, you would need to fully restore the whole device.

  • Voice memo won't show up in iTunes

    The short versoin:
A just over 15 minute voice memo on my iPhone won't sync to my computer while other shorter voice memos do. It doesn't even show up on the playlist Voice Memos on my iPhone while plugged into my computer. I would like to back up this voice memo. More details in the long version if needed.
    The long version:
I have a voice memo recorded on my iPhone that is just over 15 minutes. When I plug my iPhone into my computer this memo doesn't show up in the Voice Memos playlist (sub category of my iPhone in iTunes) while other shorter memos do. I currently have "Manually manage music and videos" selected under my Summary tab and on my Music tab "Sync Music" is unchecked the options "Entire music library" "Include music videos" and "Include voice memos" are checked but grayed out. If I check "Sync Music" it gives me the message that all existing content on my iPhone will be removed and replaced with songs and playlists from my iTunes library. Obviously I'd rather not replace my iPhone's library with my iTunes library as my phone isn't even big enough for my entire library, but I would like to be able to back up with particular voice memo, however it is not syncing to my computer like other voice memos are. Anyone have any advice?

Very odd. Perhaps it might be worth it to do a low level reformat of the iPod's flash storage. Some other users recently have run into the same issue and a reformat resolved it.  It may seem like overkill, but it has been known to work in odd situations such as yours.
Here are instructions for reformatting the Nano.

  • IPhone 4 Won't Sync Voice Memos to iTunes

I cannot get my voice memos on my iPhone to sync to iTunes for the life of me.... I have at least 10 and everytime I hit the sync button it goes through the process but never puts them into my library.  I even have the check mark checked.  I read that trimming the voice memos can help, but that didn't work for me. Also tried reorganizing library and deleted voice memo playlist, but I am struggling on this one.  Any ideas would be most helpful.  I feel like there is a bug with the app or something.

I'm having the exact same problem. IPhone 4, ITunes 10.6

  • Not all voice memos showing up in iTunes

    Hi,
I am having problems syncing my voice memos from my iPhone to iTunes.
I have around 60 recordings on my iPhone (5S, iOS 8.1.3) and I want to transfer them to my Macbook via iTunes (OS X Yosemite10.10.1; iTunes version 12.1.0.50). For some reason, only 17 of my recordings are showing up in the "Voice Memos" folder in the "On My Device" Section in iTunes. The 17 that are there are more or less random, with some of them being several months old and a few of them being recent. It is not possible to transfer even these 17.
I have checked the "Include voice memos" box as well as the genre "Voice memos" when syncing (but not the Playlist "Voice Memos", since it doesn't exist for some reason), but still it is not synced. Restarting iTunes and reconnecting the iPhone doesn't make a difference. It is also not a problem with storage, as I have 8 GB available on my iPhone and 160GB on my Mac.
I have also tried to manually transfer the recordings to my Mac using Airdrop, but my iPhone cannot find the Mac, although it is switched on and visibility is set on "Everyone". I have tried switching both devices off and on, without luck. Any ideas?
I have seen that several people have experienced some problems with voice recordings, but I have not been able to find a good solution to my problem yet. I would be grateful if anyone has any advice. Is there any other way to transfer the voice recordings to my Mac? They are too large for email/imessage. Is there a way to transfer them via iCloud/Dropbox/Google Drive? I have not yet managed to add the voice memos to either of them from my iPhone.
    Thank you in advance!

    Heiko,
I had the same problem and noticed that the missing albums had been PhotoCast. Apparently these albums are not available for transfer to your iPod. When I Stopped Publishing the album, the problem was solved.
    I hope this helps, Jim
Not sure when exactly this happened but I guess with
    the installation of iTunes 6.04.
Some of the albums I've created in in iPhoto do not
show up in the iTunes iPod options.
I first noticed when trying to view photos on my iPod
that images that had been there before were no longer
    available.
Anybody else experiencing this? Any idea on how to
    fix this?
I've already tried to restore my iPod and delete the
iPod Cahe folder but that didn't help.
    Thanks,
    Heiko.

  • New iPhone 6 Plus iOS 8 - lost voice memo while listening to it

I just lost a voice memo while I was listening to it. Also, all the filenames of previous memos were wiped - they now appear as dates. I have a new iphone 6 plus - two weeks old.
I tried a data recovery app, with no success. I hadn't backed up the memo yet. Surely it's still somewhere? How do I find it?

  • How do you encript voice memos in the itunes library so no one else at the computer can listen to them?

How do you encrypt voice memos in the itunes library so no one else at your computer can listen to them?

iTunes has no ability to encrypt anything. You'll need to search for encryption software appropriate for whatever type of computer you have. Or, you could set up separate accounts for other users of your computer and password your account.

I have a new iPhone 5S.  While trying to learn about it, I accidentally recorded a voice memo with no content.  I cannot now figure out how to get rid of it.  There is a banner across the top of my phone with this memo which I don't want.  I have deleted it from iTunes but cannot get it off the phone.  Help!

The banner usually indicates that the memo is "Paused." If you go back into voice memos, touch the word "Done" beside the big red pause button, give it a name, then it will show in a list. Touch the memo in the list then touch the trash can icon that should appear.

  • Hi, I would like my voice memos to be under music in my ipod so that I can do other things while listening e.g. writing notes. When im connected to itunes it shows that my voice memos are now under music in my ipod but in the ipod itself theyre not there.

How can I have voice memos in music (in ipod)?

You can try syncing them to your computer. Then copy/move to a reular play list and then go to the Get Info for the memo and then to Options and chang the Media kind for Voice Memo to Music or another option depending upon where you want the old memos to go.
