While uploading data from local file

Hi,
While uploading data from local file having the header text into interal table using the GUI_UPLOAD function module,there is problem in upload because of header text in file, do we have any option in this FM itself to skip this header text and upload from sdecond line because as per our requirement we can't delete this header text from the file.

Do you have the problem while uploading? Is it giving any error?
If not, if your uploading is successful into the internal table, then delete the first row, which is header, from the internal table using index eq 1.

Hi,
What you can probably do is, perform a consistency check on your data in the internal table and segregate all those rows that have inconsistent data (in your case, the field NEWBS containing albhabets) into another temporary internal table. Display the temporary internal table in an editable ALV grid saying that these data have not been inserted to the database, coz they have inconsistent data in the field NEWBS. Allow the user to edit and then save the data which will consequently refresh the internal table contents.

Problem while uploading data from flat file

suppose if there are 100 records in flat file , if 20 records uploaded with out any problem and if error occurs while uploading remaing data . is necessary to upload entire data again or else only remaining data should be uploaded?
i had used call transaction for purchase order application?

Hi Hari,
you have to upload the remaining data.
as u have used CT method, do 1 thing trap the error data in runtime & prepare another flat file. next time correct the data in new flat file. & run the DBC program again with this new flat file.

DB Connect Load - "Unknow error while uploading data from the DB Table"

Hi Experts,
We have our BI7 system connected to Oracle DB based third party tool. The loads are performing quite well in DEV environment.
I would like to know, how we transport DB Connect datasources to Quality systems? Any different process to be followed for DB Connect datasources?
At present the connections between BI Quality and the third party quality systems are established. We transported the DataSource from BI DEV system to BI quality system, but on trigerring an infopackage we are not able to perform loads. It prompts - "Unknow error while uploading data from the DB Table".
Also on comparing the DataSources in DEV system and Quality system there are no fields in "Proposal" tab of datasource in Quality system. Also I cannot change or activate Datasource in Quality system as we dont have change access in quality.
Please advice.

Sorry for bumping an old thread ....
Did this issue get ever get resolved?
I am facing the same one. The loads work successfully in Dev. The transport for DBConnect DS also moved in successfully.
One strange this is that DB User for dev did not automatically change to db user from quality when I transported the DBConnect datasource. DBCon DS still shows me the DB User from Dev in Quality system
I get "Unknown Error" whenever I trigger the data package.

I am trying to upload data from excel file to mii db without using UDS and PCo. Is there any other ways that we can achieve it.

I tried to create OLEDB data server which will point to my excel file in D drive.Its created successfully and i tried to query the datasource using sql query, I am not getting any modes in sql query template.

Create transformation on thr data source and keep the DSO as the target and load.

Iam getting Following Error while Uploading data from ODS to Data Target
a) Error in Source System.
b)DataSource 80MKT_DS01 has to be replicated (time stamp, see long text)
Message no. R3016
Diagnosis
DataSource 80MKT_DS01 does not have the status of the source system in the Business Information Warehouse.
The time stamp in the source system is 21.06.2005 07:31:33.
The time stamp in the BW system is 27.11.2004 17:41:45.

This generally occurs when you change the data source or enhance the data source or the coonections to the datasoiurse are broken. To resdolve thius sort of errors just
1. Check for the coonect between the sourse & target systems
2 . Replicate the data sourcses.
3. Acivated TR,UR,& the rest of the flow But check in the source system if the structre is modified & is so do the changes in the IS , TR,UR correspondingly & the try to load .Hoppe it allows you to load .

Import data from local file: insufficient privilege

As part of a project I'm working on, I have to load data (only a few thousand records) into a HANA Development instance on HCP. Last week I did this several times with no problem using File > Import from HANA Studio and choosing Data From Local File. Yesterday and today I get this message (most of the time, but not all the time): SAP DBTech JDBC: [258]: insufficient privilege: Not authorized.
Does anybody know why this might be and what do to about it?
Are there batch alternatives? I have not found any. The INPUT INTO statement also gives authorization problems.

Mahesh - I tried to changed cells' format in excel, but file is saved without changes (as csv).
Pandey - I read about DTW but I can't find it anywhere. Is there a site where it could be downloaded from?
Finally I solved this problem. After saving file as xls I could changed cells' format and save with changes. It helped - data '1-10-103' is imported correctly.

after i upload data from a flat file to the hierarchy, i get a error message "Please select a valid info object" am loading data using PSA, having activated all external chars still get the problem..some help on this please..

there is o relation of infoobject name in flat file and infoobjet name at BW side.
please check with the object in the BW and their lengths and type of the object and check your flat file weather u have the same type there,
now check the sequence of the objects in the transfer rules and activate them.

Upload data from flat file

Is there a way to upload data from a flat file and check of existing records and perform updates and inserts respectively on a table using MERGE as available in Oracle 9i version.
I don't want to use SQLLOADER utility for this purpose as I will be having existing data which might give exceptions for primary key, etc.
Is it possible to do this using UTL_FILE utility and use of MERGE statement.
Any inputs will be highly appreciated.

Requried help in uploading data from a file

Hi Friends,
I have a doubt while uploading data into SAP System. I have 8 fileds in my flat file.
And there are two processes to be run.In one process records 2,3,4 should be updated and in other process 5,6,7,8 should be updated.I am using Call Transaction for this.
Please help me on this.

Thank You for reply.I am Using PA30 in HR.
Here in this i need to update an infotype in two ways Eg: PART1 & PART2.
When PART 1 is processed it should update only FIRST four fields.
And when PART2 it should update only the balance four fields.
I think that you have understood my problem.

Error while loading data from a file on application server

Hi all,
Facing an error while loading data from a flat file.
Error 'The argument '##yyyymmdd;@##' cannot be interpreted as a number ' while assigning character.
I changed the format of date fields (tried with number,general,date(International))in the xls. But i still get the same error.Did check all the data types in Data source all the fields are dats.
Can you please tell me what could be the problem?

As far as my first question i got through it but i had one more field in my flat file while actually is a time stamp, but in my flat file i have a data in this format
10/21/2006 5:11:48 AM which i need to change to 10/21/2006
one more note is i have some of the fields as NULL in this field
