White box where Flash should be

Hi,
I don't know if anyone could help me on this (I'm not the main programmer of our company's website) but just the other day we noticed that the main flash animation on our company's website (www.afhu.org) didn't display on some browsers, notably IE6.   It works on IE8, FF, Chrome etc. What the user sees instead of the animation is just a white box the size of the flash object.
I believe the flash lines from the homepage are as follows;

I've seen postings on the web referring to this but most seem older. I'm not sure if this issue has always been with us or is new. We haven't changed any code recently and I would think we would have seen it before but perhaps not. Can anyone tell me from the code above (or from our website, www..afhu.org) if the Flash coding looks 'correct'? Thanks $1mil. !

you must have some code adding swfobject.js to your html but other than that your code looks ok.
but it's an older version (1) of swfobject. you might want to update to version 2 and see if the problem is resolved or, read about swfobject issues with older browsers and see if this is something that's been fixed with version 2.

The file that is pointed to in your page - http://www.creativetroubleshooter.com/flash%20button/green1.swf - is actually here -- http://www.creativetroubleshooter.com/green1.swf. This usually means that the site is not properly defined, or that you made a mistake in linking to the file.

Insert an FLA and only seeing white screen where animation should be

When I import an FLA onto my site with dreamweaver and test the site, I get a white box where the flash animation should be. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong because I'm saving the flash file then going into DW, using the common media insertion tab, and ending up with a white blank screen when I view live.

I don't know what you're talking about. Previous correspondence between yourself and OP was in regard to error message when trying to convert in Media encoder, which is expected because of the reasons mentioned in my previous post. Perhaps you are confusing my recommendation of opening the file in Flash and converting to flv or swf, not your unsuccessful attempt of opening the file in Flash Media Encoder, which will produce an error message because .fla is an unsupported file type for media conversion since it's a project file, not a media file.

Flash 10 just shows a white box for flash elements in IE

I just installed the latest version of Flash 10 and went to see some of my websites that had flash video elemnts on the pages. They all now show up as just a white box wher the elemnts resides. I emediatly uninstalled flash 10 and went back to flash 8 & everything works fine. Has anyone else had this issue? Thank you.

White box where spry menu should be

I posted this problem a short while ago where I have a white
box show up in place of a horizontal spry menu. However, it is only
in earlier versions of IE. Someone replied that I needed to upgrade
to Spry 1.6 which I did but I am still having the same problem. I
am using Dreamweaver CS3. When you roll the cursor over the white
box, some of the menu does show up but way over to the right. The
menu shows up fine (centered top) in Safari and later versions of
IE.
Also, in earlier versions of IE, my hyperlinks are not in the
same place where they are in Safari and newer versions of IE. They
are positioned relative and at %'s.

White box before flash starts

Hi All,
I have done my homework but did not see a simple fix.
I have loaded a 3 sec FLV movie with a black background to my index.html page using Dreamweaver and set the movie to start automatically. The index.html page has a black background to match the background of the FLV movie. 1 sec or so before the logo plays you see a "very distracting" white box (blank screen) where the flash player opens (surrounded by black). Once it opens all is well.
I have searched the fourm and see similar questions but did not see an answer...

Weird box where apostrophe should be!

In IE, I've got this weird box where the apostrophe should
be.
For example, I'm seeing it in this page, in the second
paragraph, in the word "haven't".

Originally the pages were created in MS word and saved as a
web page. Cleaning up word HTML doesn't seem to help my problem.
Any Ideas?

It's probably a curly quote pasted in from Word. Please
replace with the
proper HTML entities, e.g.,
<p>Haven’t you seen him?</p>

IPhoto: No pictures only broken-line/square boxes where pictures should be. Scanning with the bar slide the pics appear for one or two seconds then are gone.

Grandson Son sabataged my IPhotos! Can't get pics to appear. Only broken-line/square boxes where the pictures should be. Scrolling with side bar brings up pics for 1 or 2 seconds then they are gone again. HELP! Please....

Restore from your back up is the most obvious way forward.
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to rebuild the thumbnails. It can take 3 or 4 goes for this to work

HELP!! White frame where Flash movies should be!!!

Can't figure a single reason why this is doing what it's
doing. Everything works fine before I create the projector.....but
once I launch it and test, all my Flash movies are just white
frames of the same size as the movies are supposed to be. No sound
or anything. Does the same thing on the Mac or PC side. I've tried
checking and unchecking DTS, etc. but I can't figure this one out.
My project is due TODAY....first time I've had this problem
before, ever.....HELP!!!

I thought about that (actually made that mistake with the
Buddy API Xtra), but I just now got it to work....seems as though
it doesn't like talking to a shared drive space between my Windows
and Mac partitions, even though it'll play just fine within
Director while I'm working on the project. I copied everything
over, all the directories, etc. to my Windows side, created a test
projector from there, and voila!

Flash not working, have reinstalled adobe flash latest version but still just get a blank white space where vid should be, what do I do

This has just suddenly happened, I don't know what to do to get it back working again.

I also have this issue, I have tried disabling the new protection feature and it has had no effect, flash video's and applications are not working.
Update: Flash appears to be working according to this page from Adobe

However videos from youtube, facebook basically all flash video's are not working, Some flash applications like browser games are not working as well.

White box behind flash when in html

Hi. I've created a flash with a black background and inserted
in my html also with a black background. The problem is that when I
click through the pages, for a half second or so, the area behind
the flash is white (and stands out like a sore thumb). Any thoughts
to why this might be happening and what to do to fix it? Thanks for
your help.

I see a bgcolor attribute inside a <table> tag, but I
don't see that
attribute inside the <object> and <embed> tags.
It needs to be your
JavaScript, too.

Why are there some blank boxes where photos should be? maverick and iphoto 11

Upgraded to Maverick and iPhoto 11(ver 9.5) and now some of the boxes in photos and events have no photos in them. Tried rebuilding thumbnails and repairing database, but no change. Mistakenly, I closed out screen that first appeared when iPhoto opened for first time that asked permission to do some task and perhaps this is the cause of the problem?

Do you have a backup copy of the library from just before you upgraded to Mavericks and iPhoto 9.5? If so restore it to your Pictures folder and try again to open it with iPhoto.
Otherwise, run the first aid again and select the last option, Rebuild Database. See if that helps. If not try the following:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button,
and select the library you want to add from those in the selection window.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost.
Note 2: Your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

Rex boxes where clips should be

Hello, I exported my video to color and some of the footage now is a red box with a x through it. In FCP there are no effects on the clips and al the clips have been fully rendered. Can anyone help me with this?

The red x usually indicates unrecognized or off-line media. Are those clips on the approved list for export to COLOR (ie Apple Intermediate is not eligible, for example, and there are many others).

My adobe digital shows boxes where script should be on Windows 7 Pro, what gives??

I've reinstalled at least 12 times. It was working just fine then started this one morning on a start-up out of the blue. Now I have epub files by the hundredws which come up all tiny boxes with no words. How can I fix this????

There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1). Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

Some people have found ADE trying to upgrade automatically.
It appears (not 100% sure) that if you install ADE2.0 as a new install (not as an upgrade) that your 1.7.2 will continue to run.
Probably best to say no if 2.0.x installation asks if you want to migrate your library.

White Boxes In Slideshow

Hey All-
After I publish a page to .Mac and I watch the slideshow, I see many white boxes where photos should be. Any ideas on how to fix this? Also, can we attach music to our slideshows? If not, can we add music anywhere in our webpage(s) so that there is some music playing in the background?

I've looked through your pages and I'm not seeing any problems with your file names. In addition, all of your photos are showing up both in the photo templates and in the slideshows.
If you are still seeing the white boxes, please let me know exactly where they are and I will look again for you. Good luck!
