Whiteboard in flash

Hello Everyone. Congratulations for this great forum! Can anyone help me solve my problem? I made a photo gallery in flash and I need to link each of these pictures with a white board where people can leave their messages or drawings by using an optical pen (wacom graphic table) or the keyboard.
The idea is to save this message attached to the picture the person chose from the gallery. How can I create this whiteboard and link it by clicking a button in the picture? Thank you!!

  • Webcam and Whiteboard not working with Adobe AIR with Adobe Flash Builder

    Hi,
    I am trying to build a  simple chat service using Adobe Flash Builder target for desktop AIR( my final objective is to port it to android). My adobe AIR version is 2.5.0 and below is my source code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <s:WindowedApplication xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
       xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
       xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx" minWidth="955" minHeight="600" xmlns:rtc="http://ns.adobe.com/rtc">
    <fx:Declarations>
    <!-- Place non-visual elements (e.g., services, value objects) here -->
    <rtc:AdobeHSAuthenticator id="auth" userName="Yy" protocol="rtmfp"/>
    </fx:Declarations>
    <rtc:ConnectSessionContainer id="session" authenticator="{auth}" roomURL="https://collaboration.adobelivecycle.com/yytan1987/myfirstroom" width="100%" height="100%">
    <mx:HBox width="100%" height="100%">
    <mx:VBox width="25%" height="100%">
    <rtc:WebCamera width="100%" height="50%"/>
    <rtc:SimpleChat width="100%" height="50%"/>
    </mx:VBox>
    <rtc:SharedWhiteBoard width="75%" height="100%"/>
    </mx:HBox>
    </rtc:ConnectSessionContainer>
    </s:WindowedApplication>
    Basically when i debug it with AIR, the chat is working properly but the webcam and whiteboard just don't work....I really don't know what's wrong with it already...Appreciate it if anyone can help,thanks!!

    Hi,
    My take is , is your autopromote tuned on for the room. I mean whats
    your user role when an user enters the room(who is not host), is it 10
    or 50. If its 10 i.e. viewer , then he cant use his own cam etc. You
    need to take a look at the logs when an user enters and if its 10 and
    you want to give him these permissions, turn autopromote on from the
    devconsole for the room to make his role 50 i.e. publisher.
    I just now downloaded 2.5.1 AIR and created a new project with your
    source and I am able to use everything.
    Thanks

  • Whiteboard App in flash

    Hello All,
    I am new to flash and trying to create a white board kind of
    application in it.
    Can any body please verify the approach which i have taken.
    Please suggest in case there
    is any better way for doing the same.
    Here is the scnerio
    1. I need to load a jpg, png or gif file in background.
    2. Facilitate user to draw lines on the image at run time.
    3. Facilitate user to write text on the image at run time.
    4. Give a transparent rect which user should be able to move
    on the image and hide a specific portion of it.
    Here is the way i had implemented the same:
    a. I have created a movie clip and loaded a base image on it.
    b. On next layer ( at next available depth ), a new movie
    clip is craeted and , i had allowed user to draw lines etc.
    c. For text, again a new movie clip is created and i have
    used "createTextField" function to create a text box.
    d. on next layer( at next available depth ) i have created a
    transparent ractange. user can move this with the mouse
    cursor.
    I am using "createEmptyMovieClip" function for creating the
    new movie clip.
    Things are working fine for me. Basically i am not sure
    whether it is the best approach to do this kind of app in flash
    or there are alternative ways to achieve the similar
    funcaitonality.
    Can any body please help me in this case.

  • Digitizer tablet for Whiteboarding in Adobe Connect

    Hello,
    We have a number of users at my company who are interested in a stylus/tablet for use with the whiteboard features in connect, apparently they have tried the bamboo on their own and they were less than thrilled with the performance.
    Was wondering if there were any other suggestions out there that people have direct experience with and are known to work?
    Thanks

    I have a Bamboo MTE-450 and it works good...
    In fact, Flash Player sees it just like an ordinary HID (so, like a trackpad or a mouse).
    Which are the the performance issues you experience?

  • Installing a Timer in Whiteboard

    This is my assignment. Please someone guide me how... This is
    urgent.
    Have a timer on the upper left hand corner that counts down
    in military time. The input is in minutes. Example, say
    “eric” logs in as account “a” and waits in
    the virtual whiteboard for 20 minutes until “mark” logs
    in as “b” with the minutes as 90 minutes ( he enters
    this in during login ) . This will show on the upper right hand
    corner as 01:30 and starts counting down. The display will look
    like an LED display.
    when the timer is less than 10 minutes, this LED display will
    start flashing. When the timer hits “00:00:, it will redirect
    both the host and guest to logout.asp. Pass the parameter timerx=0
    and the nickname of “b” ( from here I will write an asp
    script to capture this event ). The string will look like
    logout.asp?nickname=mark&timerx=0
    It will kick both people out. Both would have to
    “launch” the web application again.
    Note: the timer will only appear when a guest logs in.
    Account “a” can be idle in the whiteboard and there is
    no LED displayed or any timers.
    only when a guest enters his white board will the LED show up
    and starts counting down. When the guest logs out, this LED
    disappears from the view of “a” and the LED will come
    back when another guest enters and the whole process repeats.

    Check CompUSA, Newegg.com or any other computer retailer. You can buy heatsink/fan kits. Swap the heatsink out (be sure to purchase a good paste) and plug the fan in. I'm not sure if there is a fan connection on the DA processor card, if not, you'll need to get a power adapter and plug it into the power supply.

  • Some users can't see whiteboards

    So here's a weird problem. Only some users in my meeting rooms can see the whiteboards. I've tried clearing the cache, cookies, Flash cookies, etc, but that doesn't resolve the problem. This has happened to me twice today. I'm running Adobe Connect 8.2.0.0 with Add-in 9.4.81.0 on a hosted server with Flash Player 11.1.102.63.
    Below is a comparison of what two users see:

    I think you would need to give more details on the problem,
    as <b>some</b> users are not able to see <b>some</b> attributes.
    Do they all share the same profile, what is the distinguishing thing among the some users who can see the attributes and the ones who cannot see the attributes.
    Need to drill down further I guess.
    Cheers

  • Document or video tutorial for setting LiveCycle Collaboration Service in Flash Professional CS5

    Hello,
    I want to use Adobe LiveCycle Collaboration Service for my company, but the problem is, I work upon Flash Professional and i dont have grip towards Flex, the documentation that is provided with sdk is of Flex,
    so, I want 2 types of help,
    1) If i want to setup LiveCycle Collaboration Service , will i get the document for that,
    If it is not available please provide me help for customizing skin of toolbar in SharedWhiteboard of LCCS,
    Thanks,
    Rajiv

    (another potential double-post, don't know why my emails to the forum are being ignored...)
    Hi Rajiv
    For Flash-only projects, check out the 3 sample applications which start
    with "Flash" - FlashUserList, FlashWebCamExample, and FlashSimpleChat. These
    should get you up and running with CS5.
    Unfortunately, if you're not using Flex, you'll find that the
    SharedWhiteBoard isn't going to work - it's completely Flex based. You could
    use the SharedWhiteBoardModel and write your own, but unfortunately
    whiteboards are pretty complicated and require quite a bit of work (this is
    why we didn't port it from Flex to Flash - no one has asked for it until
    now, and it's a ton of work).
      hope that helps

  • Drawing Chat in Flash

    Hi Everyone,
    Firstly, I tried a lot of google-ing AND searching in this forums but did not find anything like what I want to do, so Here I am.
    I want to make a chat program like flash application, BUT, instead of all the text and smileys, I want a common board where two users (or more) will be able to draw simultaneously (from their own computers, in different locations) and the modification on each side will be (almost) instantly be reflected for everyone else.
    Suppose there are 3 people from England, New York and USA all in my website, we are seeing this whiteboard flash application and if I draw anything in there with my mouse, it will be reflected on their side (sort of like Yahoo Doodle)
    I tried making a basic paint program with few colors, no problem with that, it was easier than I thought.
    but making it like chat, on network? I have no idea.
    I would be glad if I am directed towards the solution.
    I am doing this for my own personal hobby, to learn flash, so It would be fantastic if you could show me some tutorial or some sort like that so I can learn and create it on my own, however, any examples like this would be great too. coz it would help me find what i am looking for. I searched online, but i couldnt find anything like what I want to do.
    Since this is my personal thing, there is no time limit, its not urgent or anything.

    You should search thru this or the AS3 forum for a posting from last year (or several from the same person) looking to do what you wanted to do.  I believe multiple postings resulted from this person refusing to accept they wouldn't be able to do it, or at least that no one was going to take the time to figure out a solution and give it away.  Logistically and technically it would be a complex design if it could be implemented.

  • Error #1014: Class flash.media::MicrophoneEnhancedOptions could not be found.

    Hi,
    I'm trying to build a mobile app, that is using a webcam, text/audio chat. The web cam and the text chat is working fine with me, I even tried the whiteboard and it was working. Once I tried to add the Audio part I got this error:
              "Error #1014: Class flash.media::MicrophoneEnhancedOptions could not be found.
              at com.adobe.rtc.clientManagers::MicrophoneManager/get selectedMic()[/Users/smagee/flashfarm/connect/cocomomobile/src/com/adobe/rtc/clientManage rs/MicrophoneManager.as:169]...."
    I tried several swc file but still getting the same error. Any help or tips how to solve this issue?
    Is there a Mobile SDK version will be release soon?
    Many thanks
    Suha

    Hi, Suha
    As the release notes state, you must be compiling to AIR 2.7. I believe that
    the error you are seeing is a result of targeting AIR 2.6.
    Please see the instructions helpfully provided here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/3847495#3847495
    (also note that you must add the following to your Flex Compiler settings:
    -swf-version=12
    Thanks

  • Flash player on a network -how can i do this?

    Hi everyone,
    I am trying to get Flashplayer onto some other computers on
    my network. However they do not have internet access and so I need
    to put the flash player on for them (so they can use interactive
    whiteboard content). How can i get the player onto a cd so that I
    could install it locally onto all the pc's?
    Thank you in anticipation,
    silverswim

    Some have reported that they have been able to use the camera connection kit plus a powered USB hub to access a flash drive. But it seems to have mixed results.
    If you're trying to get photos or video onto your ipad, you can use the camera connection kit - there are just some hoops to jump through.
    Something like dropbox or some other online storage is likely your best bet

  • Paste content (image) into a whiteboard?

    Hi,
    I'm planning a webinar for teachers on Comic Generation Tools.  I want to paste five panels from a public domain comic strip onto a whiteboard and have the participants move them into the right order.
    I've done this before with Blackboard Elluminate but can't seem to find any way to do so with Connect.  Does anyone have an idea as to where I might start with this?
    Thanks!
    Pete

    Hi Jorma!
    I guess I could do that, but it would dumb down the intereactivity that I'm striving for.  I hope Adobe sees a need for Connect users to be able to manipulate content within the whiteboard as I described above.  In the meantime, I found it easier to create a couple of Flash interactives.  I'll just send my participants to the page I created today.  If you're interested, it's at: http://resco.ca/comicgen/index.htm
    Thanks,

  • Stratus Multicast Whiteboard and LCCS/Stratus Hybrid Whiteboard

    I have created a Stratus Multicast whiteboard as well as a LCCS/Stratus P2P hybrid. On http://www.colabry.com the top whiteboard remains the LCCS whiteboard and the lower is the Stratus P2P. The Stratus P2P now includes LCCS connectivity.
    You are invited to see the Multicast whiteboard by sending me an email: [email protected] . This version as well as both earlier mentioned whiteboards are virtually all the same code.
    I see two huge advantages to Stratus multicast:
         1. More engaging due to free/un-metered use. Using LCCS to broadcast slider adjustments, window resizing,  mouse and window scroll bar movements are potentially expensive. It is easy to imagine 36,000  messages a hour.
        2. Whiteboard over simple P2P( two people max) is minamally collaborative.
    The down side is that roles/rooms/credentials  and other LCCS comforts need to be created. And the base content needs to be persistent somewhere.
    I want to reiterate my suggestion to watch  the talk by Matthew Kaufman at 2009 MAX (esp at ~ 39:00)

    seconding this - when will we see the new stratus 2.0 features in LCCS?  it's very exciting.  i'd like to be able to tell my clients about it, to sell them on LCCS.

  • FMS / Whiteboard component troubles...

    All,
    I am following the tutorial on creating and connecting the
    Whiteboard component found at this location:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashcom/articles/whiteboard_2.html
    We've just purchased Media Server and I am tasked with
    getting the Whiteboard working...
    Light goes and stays green for successful connection, but the
    text tools do nothing at all and the line tools create only a
    temporary line while I am actively dragging, but when I release the
    mouse button there's nothing there...
    Any ideas?

    Oops again. I missed the errors thrown for the deprecated add
    operator. It
    seems to function but you get double lines in chat window.
    I went through these tutorials in the Flash MX 2004 docs and
    have since
    moved on to my own custom apps. I am surprised there is not a
    warning in the
    ReadMe.txt that was apparently updated 11/05 when you
    download the zip or
    its download page:

    Thanks for the info. I actually figured this out late last
    night and forgot
    to
    post the answer.
    Like you said, if a user is not connected to the FCS server
    thru
    SimpleConnect
    or otherwise, the text field and button just do NOT show up
    on the chat
    component. So weird to me because you can see them on the
    stage and then
    you
    publish and they're gone! I was just trying to build the
    interface without
    worrying about hooking it up and I get nothing but trouble!!
    I originally thought it was an issue with software.
    Apparently the
    components
    were all built for MX and I'm on Flash 8. It turns out I also
    had to export
    using ActionScript 1 and Flash 6 just to get some of the
    components to not
    throw errors. So I wrongly assumed the disappearing had to do
    with
    component
    compatibility instead of a connectivity issue.
    Anyway, I hope this post eventually helps someone else. I
    had trouble
    finding
    info about this online!
    Thanks again for response.
