Whitespace is not allowed at this location. Error while running CP using RDF with XML

Hi All,
I am using RDF report with output type as XML. It have following parameters:
1. Organization Name,
2. Invoice No From
3. Invoice No To
4. Date From
5. Date To
I had developed an RTF and registered that in Oracle Applications. The output comes in Excel file.
When I used to run report using Invoice Number From and Invoice Number To the report is giving normal excel output.
But when I am running using parameters Date From and Date To then XML output is coming after viewing output in CP Output button.
I downloaded that xml file. It is invalid as in the last of xml file it is showing following error message
"Whitespace is not allowed at this location".
Please let me know how can I resolve this problem.

XML Page cannot be displayed -- whitespace is not allowed at this location

To create an online training program I am using Captivate 3
to create the videos then move the published flash file into
Contribute 3 to create the XML and HTM files. Using the same
publishing steps most videos play; however, some videos do not. I
noticed in the FTP that videos which work will display text when I
open the XML file and those that do not I receive the error message
below:
"XML page cannot be displayed"
"Cannot view XML imput using XSL style sheet."
"Whitespace is not allowed at this location. Error processing
resource"
When I click on the flash files in the FTP the videos that
play and ones that do not play both will allow me to play the
video. I need for HealthStream (the web site my videos are stored)
to connect to the FTP but receive the message "error parsing the
XML document and content cannot be launched" due to the error
reading the XML document (located above).
Please help resolve the XML issue.

Downloaded Captivate 3 demo to check it out. Nice program,
bit expensive though...
From what I saw so far the xml-export and inport feature is
used to create swf-files in different languages. Correct?
I don't see Contribute creating any xml or html when
importing the swf created by Captivate, so what do you mean exactly
by that?
Is it a feature (that I don't know yet) that you can load xml
files dynamically into the swf's for different languages? From the
help in Captivate I understand that you open your project, then
import the translated xml, publish and then you have a translated
swf. So I don't see why there is xml on your server. I only see the
swf's that function like they should. Inlighten me please and we
will search for more answers...

"Whitespace is not allowed at this location. Error processing resource " error. If flat file, content conversion is needed..what should be done for xml files as input - how do we escape the special characters...any help is greatly appreciated

I dint understand the Scenario you are trying to do....
anyways if you wanna do content conversion at the sender end that is you wanna covert flat file into xml file then pls go throught the information given below:
While doing content conversion you have to mention the field names in header of data type: fieldNames. Hence if the key field is not present it will throw an error in adapter monitoring, FIELD NOT FOUND.
To make note mapping cannot be performed with a flat file as XI understands only XML. Hence content conversion required.

Did you change any of the text in the lob write statements ?
I believe you get this error if you increase the number of characters without increasing the 1st argument which looks as though it represents the number of characters

I have a JPd which listens to a channel.When I build the application, i get this error along with "ERROR:Process XML parse error: Premature end of file.".
Now I open this JPD,subscription node and just close it without doing anything this error disappears .
Do anyone have any clues to this strange error?

Get a Report crashed error while running report using the mode character

Hello,
I'am getting an "Enable to run report - Report as crashde" issue only when I'am running reports using the mode character. The same report with desformat pdf never has any problems. I have changed the englife (set to one) increase the cachesize but I still have the same issue.
I'm using report 6i and Oracle 8i.

There is the issue with newly relased jdeveloper patch for 12.1. We have raised an SR with Oracle and they have responded back saying : Set profile "Sign-On:Notification" to "No" at site level, which resloves the issue.

Error while running a Discoverer Workbook with parameter from command line

I am trying to run a discoverer report from command line and export the results in xls on to my local machine. I could do it fine for a simple workbook, but if I add a parameter(madatory) to the workbook and run it from command line specifying the parameter value I wanted to run the report for, I do not get any results. Here is the command line I am using.
dis51usr.exe /connect user/password@database /apps_user /apps_responsibility "System Administrator" /eul EUL_US /open C:\Disco\Test.DIS /sheet Testsheet /parameter Period Jan-07 /export xls C:\Disco\X.xls /batch
Parameter value is entered in correct format(Jan-07).
When I removed /batch from this to see if I get any error, Discoverer Desktop opened up, logged in and gets terminated saying 'Oracle Discoverer Desktop has encountered a problem and need to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'
Did anybody come across this issue before?

If you have a few minutes, Windows is also aborting for me:
the differences are, my situation is:
a) am running the command line from a .bat file
b) am NOT running with parms, want the discoverer query to come up for the user
c) am running a query from the database
i am signing in as myself BUT running a query that was created by a generic user called SREG
c) if i run the .bat file from Windows Explorer, the query opens fine
d) if i execute the .bat file from within Microsoft Access using the shell command,
the query opens and then aborts RIGHT BEFORE the parm screen would display
e) btw, if i modify the .bat file, to run a query from MY database signon, then (d) - running .bat file
from vb using SHELL command works
Do you have a ideas as to why (d) does not work? I would be very grateful for your time, tx, sandra

Error while running a sample XSQL from XML bible book from Steve Muench

I am running the sample XSQL code from Chapter 03, which deals with exporting XML and transform into SQL statements. I'm using JDeveloper and I believe I've setup libraries and HTML root directory etc. I'm getting the following error:
XSQL-011 Error processing XSLT stylesheet.
XSL-1009 Attribute xsl:version not found in xsl:stylesheet.
Can I get some help in fixing this error?

REP-300 Error while running report using App Server

Hi,
I am currently trying to run a report using the Application Server.
This report is being called from a form.
I am able to connect to the report server and all configurations seems to be correct.
But when I execute the report from the form, I am getting error "Unable to run report"
When I look at the error message in the Report Server queue, I find
"REP-300 Table or View does not exist.."
But that table does exist in the database.
What could be be the problem ?
Please help.

The report is working perfectly fine when I run it from the Report Builder. I get the correct output.
I am getting this error when I try to run the report through a Report server.
I run the form from the Forms 10g builder. This form has a button "Run Report". When I click on the button the report is run using the Report server.
This is when I get the error.
There are other forms that are also called via the same form. Those work fine. The only difference between those forms and this one is that this one has user parameters passed to it. This one also has an attached library attached to it.

Error while attempting to use WebLogic with EDS

Hello,Previously, I have installed EDS and used the default TomCat (which I would prefer was not automatically installed).Now I want to stop using TomCat and start using WebLogic 8.x . I've gone through the docuemented steps to create the application in WebLogic, but when I attempt to access the URL for WebLogic, I recieve the following Java error:javax.servlet.ServletException: Cannot initialize essbase deployment server framework. at com.essbase.server.plugins.http.EssbaseEnterprise.init(Unknown Source)I realize this is a generic error, but is there any documentation on this?

I encountered the similar error before.I replaced Tomcat with WebSphere and DB2 with MySql.After I installed the EDS according to the EDS install guide file and started it,there were a lot of error happened.I don't know whether the cause of your error is same as mine.But I can tell you that there are some errors and missings in the EDS install guide pdf file.You should get help from the WebLogic expert if you really don't familiar with WebLogic

I am having two tables TIME_DIM (YEAR->Quarter->Month) with ID
Iam having a sales fact table (ID,TIME_ID,Sales).
I have a time dimension with Year at root level and Month as ChronologicalKey.
I have made a aggregation rule as sum on Sales column of FACT table.
I have created a new logical column QTD sales with TODATE(SALES,Quarter).
I get no errors when I do a global consistency check.
In answers, when I run using QTD Sales , My BI server gets shutdown and gives an ODBC error with
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 12002] Socket communication error at call=recv: (Number=10038) An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket. (HY000)

Since the column definition and the consistency check aren't throwing errors, we'll assume that your OBIEE columns are properly configured. That points us toward a problem somewhere in the database itself when executing the query, or to an incompatibility between columns in the query.
So let's start with a simpler query. Try running the query without the Year and Month columns, just Quarter and QTD Sales. Does that work? If so, there's your problem. After all, what is the QTD value for a year-level time dimension value? It has no meaning. Now add the Month column back into the query. Does that run? Try to break the query down to its very simplest form, then add columns until you find the culprit.
If the query does not run even with just Quarter and QTD Sales, you can diagnose the query by setting your user's logging level to 2, and running the simple Quarter and QTD Sales query. Let it fail. At at that point, you should be able to look at the session log (Manage Sessions, or look at nqquery.log) and pick out the PHYSICAL SQL that was sent to the database. Grab that Physical SQL and execute it on the database, using Toad or SQL Developer, whatever tool you like. It's possible that there is a database option whose flag isn't set to YES in the repository (Physical Layer, database object, Database Features tab).
By the way, the phrase "root level" in a hierarchy typically means the lowest level, like the roots on a tree. In your case, that would be Month.

"Failed to open report" error while running reports using Crystal Report

We have a web application develeoped in ASP.Net, SQL Server 2005 , Crystal Reports 10.0. Sometimes if a large number of users run reports from their individual nodes they receive an error "Failed to open report ", if we restart the IIS they are able to run the reports. In addition to this the users also sometimes get the error "Maximum Report limit attained". Can any one provide me with a solution other than restarting the IIS.

Use the close and dispose method for Report object. Its a best practice to code also gc.collect for garbage collection.
