Why a border around table?

Can anyone tell me why there is a border around the table in the center of this page?  http://jeannettedutton.com/draft/contact.html  There are no borders defigned in the style sheet.
Thanks!
Jeannette

Why are they not working?
table {
border: none;
border-color: #FFF;
td tr {
border: none;
border-color: #FFF;
Invalid HTML in the CSS.
"td tr" means the rule applies whenever a <tr> tag is found inside a <td> tag.
That's invalid HTML so the rule will never apply.
EITHER
Swap the tags so the HTML is valid
tr td {
border: none;
border-color: #FFF;
OR
Add a comma between them so the rule applies to both tags individually (I would also swap the tags as well)
tr, td {
border: none;
border-color: #FFF;

  • How to Put Border Around Table, But Without Interior Gridlines?

    1) I want to use tables in pages without a solid line border on the exterior, but can't seem to do this without making the table have lines or gridlines in the interior of the table around the various cells, which I do not want. How can I do this?
    2) Is there any way to permanently turn off gridlines in tables when I use them in a pages document?

    I answered my own question from another forum. Here it is:
    Select your table.
    Open the Inspector.
    Choose the Table tab (third one).
    From the Cell Borders section, click on the internal lines button (2nd last one) and choose "None" for line selection.
    Now select the external border button and choose the appropriate line thickness and colour.

  • How do I put an outline border around a table i.e. without internal borders being displayed?

    Hi
    I'd appreciate some help with putting a border around a table
    as I'm sure
    I'm not doing this the best way!
    I selected my table then chose a thin (size 2) border and
    desired colour.
    The problem is this has put a border around every cell in the
    table.
    Trying to remove the internal borders has been very
    frustrating!
    Just be clear, when I say "remove the internal borders" I
    don't want to
    merge cells I just want to stop the borders displaying.
    So...
    Is there a quick way to simply put an outline border around
    the table?
    What is the best method for removing internal borders?
    Having got so used to the ease of formatting tables in MS
    Word this is a bit
    of a hair puller!!
    Thanks for your time.
    Happy New Year!!
    Ian

    Don't use the property inspector to add the border - you will
    need to use
    css...

    just search the forum or google for "active content" - this

    it has been discussed here everyday
    since the lawsuit was decided in favor of Eolas - google

  • Why does border appear around embedded video?

    Hello,
    I have an embedded YouTube video in a page on my site. It was working fine for a while but I've just discovered that there is now a black edge showing on the left, right and bottom of the video? I created a white round cornered frame within Premier so that it's part of the video. I did this as the pgae it's embedded in is white so that when it plays back it appears seamless and with curved edges to match it's container. This worked fine for a week or so but now it has these black edges? Can anybody tell me why? You can see for yourself at www.glovesanddoves.com. Go to the fighters page and you'll see the video at the bottom. The video's width is a multiple of 16 and the ratio is 16:9 at 384px X 216px. The containg Divs are also set to these measurements.
    I've attached a screenshot below:
    Any help would be much appreciated.
    Jack

    It only seems to be affecting the page when viewed in Safari although it was working fine for over a week before today?

    Put a border on your <div> which is wrapping all the tables. Inline css shown below -
    style="border: 1px solid #00000;" - Change #000000 to the color you need.
    <div align="center" style="border: 1px solid #00000;">
      <table width="800" height="85" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" bgcolor="5" 1="0">
    or give the <div> an id:
    <div align="center" id="wrapper">
    and in your css:
    #wrapper {
    border: 1px solid #000000;

    i know im a bit late on responding but i think what you need to do mshef534 is to put the code a img {border: 0px;} within the image ref itself i.e.

  • Can't get rid of white border around image

    http://www.gunnar.ca/laminatepage2.htm
    I created a rounded corner in photoshop for my table. I
    created a cell in the bottom left corner of the table and placed
    the gif. There is a thin whit border around the outer edge of the
    gif, so it doesn't look genuinely rounded. Can anyone tell me how
    to get rid of that so it looks like the table is actually rounded?
    Thank you!

    Because the table containing the GIF has a border. In your
    styleA.css
    stylesheet, the rule:
    .border {
    border: 1px solid #E5E5E5;
    adds a border to the table. Delete the rule. Of course - that
    may affect
    other things that use the .border class. Or - delete the
    class from the
    table tag.
    Several problems with the page:
    styles.css cannot be found
    sideNavStyles.css cannot be found
    34 vaildation errors:

  • Unwanted border around swf file in IE

    Can anyone tell me why I am getting a border around my swf
    file with it is imbedded on a Html page and displayed in Internet
    Explorer on a PC?
    The swf acts as a link, (pointer becomes a finger), and when
    you click once in the swf area, the border disappears and the swf
    file becomes active and all other links are working .
    See f.ex.
    http://www.soundoil.com
    I am not getting this when viewing the site in other browsers
    or on the Mac.
    I use Golive CS and Flash MX.
    It looks like this is an IE issue. Do you know of a
    workaround?
    Thanks on beforehand
    ggaarde

    I've noticed, not just in this thread but all the other "10
    billion threads about this," that every single one of the fixes for
    this problem are oriented towards webpage developers -- not for the
    internet user. Forgive me if these forums (unbeknownst to me) are
    actually dedicated solely to web developers, but I'd still like to
    find a solution somewhere for this problem.
    An example of the problem I'm facing. The average Joe (such
    as myself) is browsing around webpages (including, for example, the
    webpage for my online homework) that haven't implemented a fix for
    this problem .... Thus, for every ActiveX control, forcing me to
    click it first before being able to use it. Just seeing this once
    isn't a big deal, but when it comes down to doing a slew of
    frustrating homework problems, and being forced to do an extra
    click at least once for every single problem ... that just becomes
    one extra irritant. And it's a problem on a lot of other webpages
    too.
    I obviously can't use the "fixes" provided in these topics,
    because they're
    coding fixes; I can't very well go in and alter commercial
    webpages. Of course, I could go and demand the Tech Support guys
    for
    every webpage I visit to adjust their websites and make
    accomodations for this problem. But that seems like a dumb choice,
    especially if there's a solution of some sort. Maybe a downloadable
    update, or an option in Internet Explorer's settings. Is there
    anything out there for the
    user to fix this problem? Or am I SOL? Perhaps I just need
    to "suck it up."
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to add white border around my Banner?

    Hello,
    I am trying to add a small border around my banner.
    I tried to code it in but it didnt seem to work. Not sure why?
    So i added just without the border.
    Any thoughts?
    Thank you!
    Ivan
    Here is the URL - http://www.the-electronic-cigarette.net

    Your header is defined as an id in style.css
    So, in your CSS:
    #branding {
              background: #ffffff url(images/sky.png) top left repeat-x;
              margin-bottom: -20px;
    Change to:
    #branding {
              border-color: fff;
      border-width: 3px;
              margin-bottom: -20px;
    That will create a 3 pixel border around the div.

    Any suggestions?

    Sure. This set of stuff:
    *zeroes out the margins and paddings
    * guarantees a vertical scrollbar (so no jumping between
    short and
    long pages)
    * establishes colours and fonts etc. for the tags I tend to
    use
    * gives me a way to float images left or right
    * defines a tag that I can use to clear floats (the hr tag,
    in this
    case, since I never use an hr as a visual element: I always
    define
    borders when I need them)
    * styles the form and form elements
    I customize these to suit.

  • Changing thickness of border around fields

    Hi
    Is it possible to change the thickness of the border around a database field/ text box etc? I can only find an option to choose the type of border (Single, Dotted, Dashed etc), but not the thickness.
    The field that I use in the report has the Can Grow property set to True as well.
    I use CR 2008.
    Thanks

    Hi
    @V361-V361
    No, I cannot control the size of the text. So I guess there is no work around to this problem...
    @wickedweapon
    I have just started using Crystal Reports. But it is possible to write formulae (Basic Syntax) to select the type of border.
    If {Table.ColumnName} > value Then
          crDoubleLIne
    Else
          crSingleLine
    End If
    If you write the above code in the top margin section, then the border changes depending on the column value.
    Hope this has helps...

  • Iphone quartz border around line

    Hello,
    what's the best way to draw a (solid black) border around a line in quartz for iphone? I'm drawing lines on streets on a map and if the line is yellow (which is a legit use case), it blends in with the street color. One thing I could do is lay my lines over a little thicker black line, but this doesn't sound very efficient.

    Why not draw the path that you're using with a black fill and a slightly wider line-width (even 0.1 units wider), and then draw the street line on top of that?
