Why are emails sending twice?

I just found out that some recipients of my emails from my icloud account are receiving them twice.  Why would that be and is there a fix for that?

I wanted to update this in case others have a similar issue and think it might be a problem with their mail account. I have since done a bit of follow up with others who have recently recevied some emails from me and found they aren't getting duplicates.  This is not a mail/icloud account problem but rather an issue of forwarding preferences.

    Whether this issue happen to other recipients.
    Please try to start Outlook in safe mode to check if this issue is caused by any problematic add-in. To do this, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type
    outlook /safe and press Enter. If the problem disappears in safe mode, please go to File > Options > Add-ins and disable suspicious add-in to resolve this issue.

    It's bad design. It's not anticipating the result of the way they've implemented iCloud and the crazy, unintuitive way that you set up iCloud in System Preferences: Instead of taking you through a well-explained set of questions, the answers to which give you the results you expect (something like Mail) - Apple designers have gone for a spartan and elegant look, and dire and ambiguous warnings. It's like a bad, little time-wasting puzzle.
    The iCloud Preference Pane should have been thoroughly tested. But the Apple designers knew what they meant. and feeling assured that the keeners in the Mac Communities will eventually figurre out a fix, post it somewhere, and you'll be able Google it and fix it yourself, they just left it like that.
    It's the evolution of Apple culture.
    (and yes I have the same problem, and no, I haven't found the fix yet.)

    I just traded my iphone 4s and got an iphone5.
    I have my work email (exchange) and my gmail account set up on my phone. As soon as I updated to IOS 6, I started to have these problems:
    When I send emails out, they get stuck in my outbox.
    When sending picture msgs, they just stay in sending status.
    A problem with Internet links not opening on safari.
    I did everything that you can think of, restarted the phone, reset network settings, restored to factory settings and setup as NEW iphone, checked all email and exchange settings (all are correct) and they way they worked on my 4S, deleted my exchange profile on the work server.
    I did all that you can think of and nothing was a permanent fix.
    Apple Geniuses, please help us get this resolved. Other co-works are having the same problems.

    Are you still using iOS 7.0.3 as stated in your profile?  if so, update to 7.1.  If already on 7.1:
    1.  Reset phone (no data loss): Press both the home and power buttons, releasing when the Apple logo appears.
    2.  Delete and re-enter  your iCloud account.

    I am experiencing problems receiving emails. Select senders are receiving bounce backs to me. They are reporting this diagnostic error message: The following organization rejected your message: mx4.mac.com.akadns.net. It only happens for certain senders.

  • Why are emails downloaded with the subject and from address different from what is actually in the email?

    The subject and from address listed in the message pane are totally different from what is in the actual email, viewed either in the preview pane or when the email is opened. The emails are correct when viewed online. For example:
    Email subject A from Sender A - email A
    Email subject B from Sender B - email B
    Email subject C from Sender C - email C
    After downloading to Thunderbird:
    Email subject A from Sender A - email A
    Email subject B from Sender B - email B
    Email subject C from Sender C - email A *** Subject and Sender for C but is actually email A
    This started happening within the past month and appears to be random. Sometimes everything is correct. But more often there are a few that exhibit the above behavior. I have multiple email address downloading from the same domain but this problem seems to occur ostly with my main email account.

    Try to rebuild the index file of the troubled folder.
    Right-click the folder - Properties - Repair Folder

  • Why is email "send" button now inoperable?

    I just upgraded to IOS 8.2 on my iPhone 4S. I click on an email in contacts as usual, write the email, but then am unable to click "send" because send is grayed-out and inoperable. I am only able to save my email as a draft or to delete it. Of course once I save it as a draft, I can then go into drafts and send it, but it wastes time and I don't want extra steps I shouldn't have to take in the first place.  What happened?

    I too have had the exact same problem for weeks on end.  I spoke with an Apple and a Verizon rep recently.  Verizon didn't have a clue.  Apple rep said they are aware of this issue and are working on a bug fix - but when???  This is a service we are paying for and not able to use!  Please fix it asap!
    Snakemom, I hope they fix it soon.  I'm a Realtor and need to be able to contact them mainly by email during the day!  I feel your pain.

    Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.
    If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.

  • Why are emails I deleted from another computer still showing up in my iPad inboxes.

    This is just plain annoying. Every time I pick up my iPad, I have to delete dozens of emails I already deleted from my mailboxes (I have multiple accounts ... yahoo gmail hotmail etc.) I looked for a setting that would fix this, but nothing I'm finding seems to resolve this particular issue. How can I sync my iPad email accounts so they are current, and don't require me to delete messages I already deleted from my phone or work laptop or home desktop?

    What you're describing occurs when your email provider uses POP rather than IMAP as your email protocol. Are you familiar with the difference? Most webmail providers use IMAP, which is set up for syncing across multiple devices, just the way you want. It sounds as if one or more of your providers is still using POP, the older standard.
    I personally like POP, since it lets me choose whether to deal with emails on my iPad or defer them until I'm next on my Mac, but it's a personal preference. Switch to IMAP-only email, and you should be all set.

    In the iOS mail app I have noticed that some mass emails are missing addressees are missing in the to: line. They are not in the cc: or bcc: line either. However I know they are there when I view the email online or on my computer. This is happening with multiple accounts too. Any suggestions?

    iOS apps don't run on Macs and Mac apps don't run on Macs. If a developer has developed an app for both operating systems, they are sold separately in their respective app store.

  • Why are emails in public folders being marked as read when viewed in the viewing pane when I have disabled this in settings

    I am using office 2010 on a windows 7 PC. In outlook I have changed the settings for the reading pane so that emails are not marked as read unless I actually open them. This is working for emails in my inbox and outbox but not for emails in public
    folders. Emails in public folders are marked as read as soon as I click on them. Do public folders have a different setting for marking email as read in the reading pane?
    It is important for me that emails in the public folders are not marked as read when i click on them as I need to read through hundreds of project emails in these folders and need to be able to distinguish between emails I have read and actioned
    and emails I have just clicked on while searching for an email I need. This folder serves as an archive for my emails so i cant delete them once I have read them. I also don't have permission to label them or create tasks from them.

    I tested in my lab, it worked for public folders. My Outlook version is Outlook 2013.
    Please open Outlook in safe mode to check result.
    If possible, please check if this issue persists from a different client server.

  • Why are emails making copies after moving to subfolder?

    Hi guys - I've always been able to solve issues on my own reading through all of your posts but this one has me thrown for a loop. I installed Mavericks yesterday and after doing so, changed my two Gmail-based email accounts from Exchange to Gmail (IMAP). After doing so, everything seemed fine until I received a new email and as I always do, would move it to a subfolder I had created on Mail (as well as in Gmail). In the past, I would drag it to the subfolder from the Inbox and that was that. But now, I'll drag the email to the subfolder, it disappears from my Inbox but a minute later, reappears as well as a copy in the subfolder I moved it to.
    I tried to revert to the Exchange based email to see if that would fix it, but to no avail. I have noticed if I delete the email, it will go to the Trash (disappearing from the Inbox), then dragging it from the Trash into the subfolder and it works perfectly. What am I doing wrong?? Thanks for any advice...

    You can recover them from the backup you have on Time Machine.
    If you don't have a backup:There are some third party utilities that might be able to recover the files if you didn't write new data over them. Here's one: Mac Data Recovery to Recover Data on Mac OSX – Stellar Phoenix
