Why are Illustrator CC 2014 dialogue boxes dropshadows still visible after closing.

Hi,
Has anyone experienced this behaviour before?
Seems to be the dialogue boxes that appear in the centre of the screen when opened from the Control Bar.
They also remain visible after closing AI. See image below.
Computer specs:
Dell Precission M6700
Windows 7 Professional
64-bit
Illustrator CC 2014 1.1 Release
Any help in resolving this frustrating bug would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem. Bought a new grafic video card AMD FirePro AND a new monitor. Didn't help. Tried asking Adobe, no luck sofar.

Transparent areas on New Site Dialogue Box

Hi everyone.
I have a problem with Deamweaver CS5 showing various transparent areas (start up box etc.) but the biggest problem is with the New Site and Edit Site dialogue boxes - they are unuseable. The image below shows the New Site dialgue box showing the underlying screen capture utilility I was using.
Everything else is working fine but I can't setup or edit any site.
I have setup and edited sites previous to this happening.
I still have Dreamweaver CS4 on my computer which works fine, as does Photoshop CS5.
Anyone got any ideas.

Why does Illustrator CC 2014.1 take so long to launch?

I work on an iMac and use OS X Yosemite. Every time I launch Illustrator CC 2014.1 it takes 11 minutes to open.
Does anyone else have this issue?

I remember when AI used to take forever to launch. Now I run in 64-bit, and since AI updates it is reasonably faster at launch. Are you running your iMac in 64-bit? or 32?

INACCURATE PRINT AREA: Illustrator CC 2014

When i try printing in Illustrator CC 2014 (tabloid, to scale) the print area is way too big. In the older version, the print area showed exactly where the doc would get cut off. Is there a fix?

Yes the driver installed is the latest PS driver that KonicaMinolta has to offer.
Meanwhile i had the customer send the PDF File created in Illustrator send to a Windows 7 PC. Printing from there with the PS Driver the printer will print out:

Why is my photo downloader dialogue box pixelated?

I have noticed recently that when I take images off a CF or SD card and use Bridge. The photo downloader dialogue box is not very high quality. The text is pixelated and the over all graphic isn't very high quality. I seem to only notice in this section of Bridge. I am working on a retina display mac book pro so it just seems weird when I open that dialogue box it is not very high quality. Is there something wrong or is this normal and the way it is supposed to be?

Probably caused by an incompatible extension.

Why Are My Cache Files & Other "Hidden" Files/Folders Visible? & How Do I Get Rid Of Them?

I hid mach_kernel and private, but the cache.db, cache.db-shm, cache.db-wal of both the system and user folder are, also, visible. Yesterday, I had to restore from a Time Machine backup because something had suddenly eaten all the space on my startup drive. However, these files were visible prior to the restore. So, why are they there and how do I safely dispose of them or hide them to prevent their return to visibility? Thanks.

Old graphics are still visible after repaint().

I'm using a sprite which I, in a timer task scheduled at fixed rate, is moved a little bit and the the repaint method is invoked on the canvas which invokes paint on the sprite. Things work fine, the sprite is painted on its new position, however, the graphics painted in the former paint() invocations are still visible on the screen. Is there a sleek way to disable this behaviour?

i have a similar problem...
uhm, my sprites have 2 frames, the first one is the sprite pic, and the second is a point, one pixel, so if i select the second one and repaint, it should "disapear", the problem is, i change the selected frame, and then repaint while runnin the thread, but nothing happens =(

Why are Illustrator measurements often not precise?

One thing that constantly frustrates me is that Illustrator invariably doesn’t allow me to create precise measurements.
For example, if I create a new document with an A4 page then draw an A4 box, the new box is not 210 x 297 as it should be but 210.002 x 297mm.
It doesn’t matter if I correct the inaccuracy in the Transform box. However many times I correct it and save it, as soon as I check the box size again it still says 210.002 mm.
Is there a fix for this?
NB. I have my units set to millimetres. I’ve have deselected ‘Align new objects to pixel grid’ in Transform

I’ve just discovered that if you create a new Print document with a default A4 page, the Document Info box says it's actually 210.0016 mm x 297.0001 mm. I guess that ties in with what you are saying about points.
I’m amazed that Adobe haven’t found a solution for this over the years. I wonder how many thousands of man-hours have been wasted by Illustrator users all over the world trying to fix the unfixable?

Why is Illustrator CC 2014 constantly hanging?

Constant issues with Creative Cloud programs especially around the time updates have been made available. Today In Design has been updated and Illustrator just keeps crashing. Yet yesterday it has been fine. One of my colleagues is having exactly the same issues. No rhyme nor reason to it. Try to find some way of contacting Adobe - nothing!!
This is not a new issue it is ongoing. Very frustrating as a design agency owner that 50% of a days work has been lost. Why is this not stable by now?
Can anyone help?

Why are active menus and dialog boxes disappearing/being overwritten by the active tab/page content?

Frequently when selecting a download directory/filename in the "save to" dialog the entire dialog is overwritten with the active page content. It appears the dialog has closed, but if you tab through the dialog the active field/control is written but the rest of the dialog remains hidden/overwritten. This has also happened with the "open file" dialog. The the drop down menus on the menu bar are occasionally being overwritten after being activated/pulled down. I have not been able to determine a common/specific event causing this problem.

I seem to have fixed it by putting <div class="clearfloat"></div> after the navigation bar?

Why are there two junk mail boxes

I am using OS 10.7.2, with mail 5.1. I was formerly mobileme and have now converted to iCloud. My wife's mail account has two junk mailboxes - one appears under "Junk" along with mine, and the other appears under "Laurie's Mac Account". The one under "Junk" deletes daily just like mine, but the other one never deletes - I have to manually delete. I have double and triple checked that all parameters are the same on both accounts. The ONLY difference is that my account sync's to my iPad and iPhone and her's is only on the Mac.
This has been this way for a long time, since .Mac changed to MobileMe. I've tried deleting the second junk mailbox, but it just keeps coming back. It's the monster that won't die.

The two ports can be used for link aggregation. You bond the ports together to get a 2Gbps network. This will only be helpful for your internal LAN, as nobody I know of has an internet connection like that.
In order to use link aggregation, you will need some external hardware, specifically an intelligent switch. The switch can be configured to aggregate two of the ports into a single logical connection. I have a Netgear GS724T-300, as well as an 8 port version. The 8 and 16 port versions can only have 2 aggregate links, while the 24 port can have 4.
So, if you have two ethernet cables from your mac pro to the switch, and have a few other computers in your house (like I do), then your server can move data faster between multiple clients.
The other think you can do, is get a NAS that has dual links, and then you can plug the NAS into two switch ports and aggregate that also. Now you have a 2Gb/s link between your server and your NAS, which allows the server to move data much faster.

Why is Illustrator CC (2014) update failing repeatedly after downloading 100%?

I've been a member of CC for sometime 18 months and normally I have no trouble with updates.
However, this particular update to Illustrator CC fails repeatedly.
I've attempted this update and download more than 8 times.
It shows the download to be 100% complete and then "Update failed" shows up.
Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong?
I've just migrated to a newish iMac, could this be a reason?

Have you uninstalled the old versions and used the Cleaner Tool before updating to the new version?
This procedure is recommended after updating Mac OS.

Why are illustrator CS4 3rd party plugin panels taking minutes to load?

Hello Everyone
I use IL on Mac and use some 3rd party plugins with my software [This problem is most noticeable with the Cvalley plugins - Filterit and Xtreampath]. The problem is that often they'll take many minutes to load and stay as blank grey panels [as seen in the picture] with no manipulatable variables - does anyone know the reason for this and how to speed up their load time? as you'd imagine it slows me down a lot.
