Why are subclips going into wrong bin?

When I open a clip from a bin and create a subclip, I expect that subclip will land back in the bin the master clip came from, but this is not always happening. Sometimes the subclip appears in the correct folder, and sometimes it shows up in the higher level master folder, or in some other folder, almost random. Is there some protocol to follow to make sure the subclip always appears in the folder of its master clip?

Perhaps I don't understand this. I've never (to my knowledge) opened a second instance of the project panel ... and yet several times the subclips "disappeared" ... only to find that they'd somehow landed in a parent folder. This is with the project panel in the 'standard' lowere left quadrant, only one folder open and showing.
It's puzzled me when it happens ... double-click on a file, it goes to the source monitor; set i-o, right-click "create subclip" ... sometime it goes in the folder it came out of, occasionally to the "upper" folder.

Why does javadoc goes into an infinite loop

at my dos prompt , in the same directory as my Page.java file, i type javadoc Page.java
why does it go into an infinite loop? instead of producing any documentation

this is a sample page -- i'm using jdk 1.4 trying to run javadoc Tracer.class or javadoc Tracer.java or javadoc Tracer gives throws the console into an infinite loop with the statement being printed over and over again. But i haven't just noticed this problem with javadoc -- i noticed this problem with certain types of mistakes in the code rather than just displaying the compiler error -- it creates this infinite loop in the dos console window. any thoughts ?

Downloads going into wrong folder

I have it set up so that when downloading any apps etc from the iTunes store that they go into a specific folder, but they are being downloaded into the default C: Users/my name/My Music/iTunes/mobile applications every time.
Obviously I can copy them over if I want to but want to know why they are being installed there instead of the folder I want to which is specified under preferences.
Anyway of resolving this?

Use the menus File > LIbrary > Organize Library... > Reorganize files in the folder "<Media Folder>" then File > LIbrary > Organize Library... > Consolidate files...
You can then delete the now redundant Mobile Applications folder on C: and iPod Games, Ringtones or Tones if they exist.
The first command will restucture your library so that all music moves from
<Media Folder>\<Artist>\<Album>\## <Name> to
<Media Folder>\Music\<Artist>\<Album>\## <Name>
which is the default layout for new libraries.

Mail invitations going into wrong iCal Calendar

I have been following the iCal invitation threads but have not seen this question or answer. I ham happy with the mail invitations automatically being entered into iCal (lepoard 10.5.2) and it seems to do it reliably. The problem is that all invitations are being entered into my wife's calendar not mine and since they result as un-editable event i can't move it. Is there a way to have imail/ical automatically enter the event but direct it to a specific calendar?
you may ask- my wife's calendar shows up first on the list of calendars in ical. i was planning on renaming it as i thought it may direct all invitations to the first on the list.

Workstation Import/Removal going into wrong containers!?@

We want our workstations in their proper containers. We have 900 of them
in *our* 300SM.ABQ.NM.NM container, while only having 300 computers at
this location.
We created an Application Object (AO) to:
1) zwsreg.exe -unreg
(runs as a pre-distribution script)
2) zwsreg.exe -importserver 172.16.13.2
(the server specific to this container.)
We logged the results, only to find PCs with "registered" into the proper
container had "jumped" to another container upon next login!
Are our options for zwsreg incomplete/incorrect? The DN settings are
ambiguous - does it mean the .CN=blah level or the .OU=blahblah level?
Are we required to say -importpolicy, or is it implied by the
-importserver having its own Workstation Import Policy?

Your import policy would determins where the object goes then you would

Replace "Server Policy Name" with whatever your import policy is, and
the .someOU.someO with the path to that policy.

Downoads are not going into the folder I set up in options.

I have Firefox 10.0.3. I set up a download folder in Options for Downloads to go in to. With this latest version they are going to a temp folder instead. I can't get them to go into the correct folder. Is there a fix?

Does the actual folder change when you look at the preference or does it still show the folder that you specified? Anyway, you should look at the article [[Preferences are not saved]]. It could be the FF can't save to your pref.js file.
You could also try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting-extensions-themes Extensions and Themes troubleshooting guide ] and the [[Troubleshooting plugins]] article as well.

Responses going into wrong form

I created a form, and then copied it and renamed it. The original form is for vendors to view and play with, for a proposal process. The 2nd form is for people to actually respond to. I advertsie the 2nd form on a website, and all the links are correct. However, I am getting responses from the 2nd form dumped into the first form. I don't want to close the first form, because i want it to be viewed by vendors submitting proposals. I have done this with several other forms and I'm concernd this will continue to happen. Both forms have distinct URLs, so I'm not sure why this is happening.

no matter what highlight color i choose in the Appearance prefs pane, i get a different color - or, more accurately, a very different shade of the same color - in some places. when i select text in a text-editing app (or right here in Safari), for example, i get the highlight color i chose in the Appearance prefs pane, but if, say, i choose any shade of pure yellow for my highlight color in the prefs pane, my messages in Mail.app are highlighted in this positively repugnant bile green. if i choose a pale purple highlight color, messages in Mail.app are highlighted in a deep purple. and so on.
why is this? if i wanted disobedient computers, i'd run Windows boxes.

i can appreciate, however, that no one has an answer to either of the questions i posted a week or two ago. but i do think it sad that we're cut loose to drift around out here on our own.
i used to see Apple Computer as an ally, a compatriot in the fight against conformity, mediocrity, the mindless acceptance and consumption of whatever user-hateful garbage rolled out of Redmond. i saw Apple Computer, and the Macintosh, as a cause, and one well worthy of my staunchest support.
it's different now though. the warmth, the fun and the color are gone (well, unless your idea of "colorful" is light blue), replaced with cold, gray (and light blue) efficiency and an increasing indifference toward the needs and desires of users. and one attempt to use .mac's sync function is all it takes to call into question the notion of efficiency as well.
oh, i don't have the energy for this. i'm just heartbroken at the death of the soul of Apple Computer.

Why are files going offline when exporting from premiere

Hi all
I've got a feature length documentary of 2 hours. All files are online but upon exporting from premiere via media encoder the finished file has 'media offline' on some shots. I have NO idea why this is happening. All clips are online on the timeline.
I'm exporting both blu-ray mpeg and dvd mpeg. The project is on an external hard drive. Can anyone help this is a nightmare!?
Will exporting via premiere pro direct fix this problem?

IPhone 4 not turning back on????? PLZ HELP or its going into the bin and no more apple

My iphone 4 wont turn on. I used my phone with no prob this morning but then it decided it was turning off and not turning back on again.... I plug it into the wall to charge it tells me to connect to iTunes but as soon as I unplug my phone it turns off. I connect it to computer for iTunes and it restarts after the apple symbol comes up. ???????
I had my phone connected to the computer at work all afternoon and watched it show the apple symbol then switch off and do it again and again. I don't see how it would be the battery as I felt it should have plenty of charge by now plus I have tried all different cables and its still the same.
Please help me. I do like my iPhone but I only seem to have problems.

Those are features of faulty battery. Make Genius reservation and take to Apple Store for evaluation. Or try battery replacement as first step.

Why are questions shown as wrong even though they are selected to be the right questions?

I tested my module after publishing and everything works great except the quiz. When I take the quiz, I get almost all of my answers wrong even though the answers that I select are the right answers chosen before publishing. Is this a bug with Captivate 8 or is there something I'm not doing right? Thanks!

User error. That makes sense now.
Just a tip: Having a Next button as well as a Submit button visible on a quiz slide is asking for trouble. I hide my Next buttons UNDERNEATH the Clear button. That way, they are visible ONLY when the user is Reviewing the quiz. That's about the only time they're actually needed anyway.

Why are Subclips Changing Video Size?

I am having a bit of difficulty when i create a subclip the width of my clips changes and shrinks, creating two black bars on the sides. My preview looks okay but after the clip is rendered the bars appear
Any clue as to why this might be happening?
I have fcp 4.0 on a macbook 10.6.2.

What Al said, plus it sounds as if you're making the subclips incorrectly. It sounds as if you're making them in the timeline; you need to make them in the viewer

Downloads from iTunes are not going into my library

When I download songs and podcasts from iTunes on my iPhone they seem to download fine but they do not go into my library. Any ideas? All software is up to date.

I am using the same account. It happened once before and all I did was connect it to iTunes and it seemed to sort itself. I tried connecting it again but it doesn't seem to have worked this time. My purchases went into my library before when I purchased from the store on my iphone and I haven't changed any settings that would stop this. When I say my library, I mean the songs and podcasts don't appear on my iPhone when I purchase from it.

Why are images converted into pdfs instead of jpgs?

When saving an image that's been corrected, as a jpg, it is automatically converted to a PDF.
Some sites I use will only accept jpg files. Where can I change this feature in acrobat XI?

If it is as you describe then this is a problem with the OTHER program. Acrobat can't change how other programs save their files.
There is another possibility, that the file is actually a JPEG but your system is set up wrong, so that Acrobat is run when you double click JPEGs.
You can look in File Properties to see which this is. But have you asked in the forum for the "other" program?
