Why are their question marks on my iWeb page borders?

Hopefully this is an easy one that has been answered, but I can't find any postings. Anyone know why suddenly the borders around pages, text and pictures are now clear/white with question marks in them? We have changed nothing, though this does (coincidently or not) coincide with the .mac to .me transition.
Any help is appreciated.

Well, I seem to be having the same problems. I have question marks for album covers and picture frames. Also, I can't get slideshows to play. All I get is a black screen. Going back in to republish, there are no options to play slideshow. I can't imagine remaking my whole website over, just to maybe find that it still doesn't work. It seems like a glitch that should be resolved by Apple. If they can't fix it, I'd rather find another place to publish it, so that I'll know it's got a chance of working.
I couldn't even send feedback to apple this morning. They must be getting a lot of complaints.
The problem seems to be on them, and I don't feel like it's right to suffer the inconvenience, or have to remake the whole site over. I hope they'll come thru with a fix for this and make things right.
Am I the only one who's had a problem contacting feedback?

Why Are there question marks in my dock that says iphoto, imovie and imovie hd after resetting my dock?

My iBook G4 used to belong to my mums friend. After having it and using it for 2 years, I did a dock reset. Now There are question marks saying iphoto, imovie and imovie hd. I don't have the installation disk with me so how do I get these apps back?

Do you know which versions they were? Sometimes they came on an iLife disc; sometimes on an Applications disc or Restore disc with the original software package that came with the iBook when it was new.
Doing a Dock reset would not have removed these applications from the Applications folder.
If they are no longer in the Applications folder, you will have to reinstall them from a disc.
Which exact iBook model is it?

Why are blue questions marks coming up where images should be in Mail, and in Safari.

I have reset safari and my wifi? I have a iMac if that helps. IF you have any idea please help me.

For Mail. From the Mail menu bar click Mail > Preferences then select the Viewing tab.
Select: Display remote images in HTML messages
For Safari. If you see Develop in your Safari menu bar between Bookmarks and Window, click Develop.
If Disable Images is checked, click there once to uncheck.

After upgrading to Yosemite I cannot download updates and the icons are not question marks.

I upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite, I cannot download any updates for apps and cannot purchase apps. When I go to the app store all the icons are have question marks in them. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this problem?

Why are my clip marker comments disappearing?

I'm coming from Final Cut Pro, so part of my problem might be my workflow, but: Why are my clip marker comments disappearing? I log a lot of interviews and usually log the subject's responses in clip markers, but my comments are disappearing the second I select a different clip! Any reason why this might be? They stick around when I do sequence comments, but they disappear when I add comments to my clip markers when viewing in the source window. Thanks!

Jim, that's encouraging to hear. Unfortunately, I'm trying to run it on a mac (Lion). Are you finding that most complaints are coming from people running it on macs?
Believe me, I want to get behing Adobe, but I've restarted more than one project in Avid after finding Premiere super glitchy and inconsistent in it's behaviour.

In Launchpad, many icons are simply question marks

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion and I'm trying to get into the habit of using Launchpad to open applications instead of of the Finder. When I launch Launchpad, many of the icons are translucent question marks instead of an actual icon...the application name is still listed below the quasi-icon. What gives? Oddly, some of the ghost icons are for applications that are native to my iMac...like QT player, GarageBand, Calculator, iPhoto etc. There are 8 pages of applications and many of them are repeats.
I'm wondering where Launchpad goes to find the listed apps...if I knew I cold possibly remove some duplicates.
Also, when I try to open many of the applications, nothing happens...the application doesn't open. Also launchpad stays active as opposed to going back to my desktop (which is what happens when I click on an empty space). It's as if I haven't clicked anything at all.
If anyone has some idea how to pear down my bundle of applications, let me know.

You could try having LaunchPad rebuild its database, as detailed in this article:

Blue question mark on some web pages

hi i am getting blue questions marks on some web pages. like..... TheAVENUE.com i see the start page, and i see the pictures there, but when i go to click an link like sweaters, and the sweaters are suppose to pop up i see the blue question marks. this only only happens on a fewweb pages. any idea whats going on?

thanks for your help, I called my internet people. and they are having the same issues. they are guessing they company is blocking us from viewing it. It happens alot though. My husband is in the military and we are stationed overseas. I will have to call them and let them know they are blocking our Ip addresses

My suggested workaround: In Acrobat Pro, in the Page Thumbnails pane, select the pages that you want to replace then right click and select "Delete pages". Then, right-click the page just ahead of where the replacement pages will go, select "Insert pages", and follow the prompts. This is just the way I do it, not the only way.
Tiger26 is making the excellent suggestion that, prior to inserting pages, encapsulate the tags for the pages to be inserted using a Section tag. This makes the post-insertion chore of dragging the tags to their proper place in the tag structure easier.

Why are my images scrolling from outside the Page width?

Why are my images scrolling from outside the Page width? I am positive i has all the settings correct, to have an image parallax scroll from the edge of the page into the page and out again. But the images are flying in from the browser width - not the page width. This is not the effect I am after.
Any suggestions on how to fix this? Given the key position is only linked to the height, I can't for the life of me work out how to ensure the images start moving from a certain position onthe left and right of the page.

I think the effect you are seeing is a result of how the lineHeight is set up. By default, the lineHeight will be calculated as 120% of the size of the largest thing on the line -- in your case, this is the inline graphic. This is designed to leave space between the line before and the line with the graphic. So it is taking the height of the graphic, multiplying by 120%, and making this the distance between the previous line and the line with the graphic. So the bigger the graphic, the bigger the space above the graphic. Normally this works well with text, but in this case you may want to get closer to "set solid". You can do this by setting the lineHeight to 100%. Or you may wish to leave a couple of percent for the descenders of the previous line. Or, another alternative that may work well for you if you really know exactly where you want the line set, you could measure the graphic, add on the number of extra pixels to leave for the descenders, and make the lineHeight a constant. So you could do something like this:

<img lineHeight="423" height="411"/>
Obviously you would still need to specify the source and any other parameters you want on the image.
Note that if you are trying to fit a 200 pixel high graphic into a 200 pixel high container, you will hit the same problem -- in order to fit the graphic, the container will have to be slightly bigger than the graphic in order to fit the descenders on the last line. This is true even if the last line contains only the graphic, and no descenders (or text) at all.

Why are videos loading so slowly on iweb site?

So I built a site with lots of video, but each video is on its own separate page. Why do the videos take so long to long and then sometimes stop intermittently while playing? Would appreciate multiple responses for things to try. Also, what is the optimal file size for videos with iweb. (Mine are from 3-8MB mostly.)

You will need to learn how to embed movie files in an iWeb page via HTML snippets in order to avoid having the video files load along with the page itself.
Create a test site or test page page in your site and experiment with different methods. If a test page in your existing site the page can be hidden from the navbar with some of Roddy's suggested methods and with some of mine which can be seen in this demo page: Opening Item in a New, Precisely Sized Window. This page has 9 videos on it in that manner: PhotoPresenter Animated Slideshow Themes.
However, if you videos are all Quicktime files the viewer will have to have Quicktime installed if they are to be able to view them. My method requires QT to be installed.

By "phone book" do you mean "Contacts", the app embedded in OSX? Is the question mark sitting in your dock or in the applications folder in Finder? Also, can you tell us which version of OSX you're running? (OSX version found by clicking on the Apple icon> About this MAC)

Why so many question marks?

Seems like every website I go to that has some sort of QT animation fails to load properly because of QT. I'm forever running into the QT icon with the question mark on it.
What gives?

In my QT preferences pane/ADVANCED/MIME settings, I have listing of MIME types and a minus symbol on (Miscellaneous- Miscellaneous file formats) . is that what you are talking about? and does the minus indicate the same thing as removing a check mark? Since my setting is minus and I still have all those question marks in the QT logo, is ther someting else I need to do to get these sites working. Some require Flash Player 8 version ( which is not free ), so what gives with that road block?

I started my old MacBook Pro, and a folder appeared with a question mark,and nothing else happens

I have. 2008 MacBook, was working great, now when I startup all I get a gay sreenwith question mark inside afolder that flashes. Tried holding shift key down for safe mode boot, nothin, install my snow leopoerd disc and get to disc utility but no disc is found, all I see is the disc itself in there. Why are many files in Keynote, Pages and Numbers not opening? I have re-downloaded the apps but with no joy!

Strange. The photos that don't display in Aperture will still display in iPhoto but when I view the info the file doesn't show resolution information only for those problematic photos
Files sizes are almost all jpeg. Once I reference the file in iPhoto, the master displayed resolution for the photo within finder. The photo's original file also opened in preview and photoshop.

Question marks all over web pages

I downloaded Quicktime 7.1.5 with iTunes and now heaps of websites come up with little Quicktime "Q"'s with question marks over them come up on screen instead of ads, movies, etc.
Some pages don't even get that far they just don't properly load. I never had the trouble with the previous version so I can only assume it's the current settings of this new version. I've tried loads of different settings, uninstalling-reinstalling, nothing seems to work!!!

I think that may have done it. There were several sites that were showing the problem and I haven't been onto all of them yet but I think that may have done it, thanks heaps
