Why can Apple NOT fix there stuff in AMERICA?!

I bought an iPhone 4S of apple.com. The same website a mass number of people go to to buy and look at the latest and greatest apple products. I got my phone and have had it for a little while and i broke the screen. I sent it in to apple for repair(i live no where close to a store) and after a week went by waiting on a respnose to my issue, i got online to che ck my status. It said my claim had been cancelled. No reson mentioned, no heads up, not so much as new shipping info for my phone to be returned. I had to call and see what was going on. The told me that because my phone came from Hong Kong that they could not repair it... REALLY!? I bought the device from your website but you cant fix it. If you're not going to fix you stuff then dont ship it from other freaking countries. They said they were not allowed to fix it and i would have to send it back to hong kong for repairs.... Has anyone else had this issue? I wasnt to file a complaint but cant, i want to get a phone that is shipped or made where ever they need them to be done so i can have it fixed here quicker. I WANT BETTER SERVICE!!! They gave me no info, and caused me to be without my work phone for another 2 weeks probably. Oh, and they shipped the phone back they required a signature for delivery. Not an issue usually, nice for extra security. But it has to be in person... I work hours that do not alow me be home to sign for it and they do not allow you to sign the card and leave it for the delivery. Souldnt they give you the choice to take that risk? Especially for an alread broke phone.I am not happy and this has been a crappy experiance that should not happen from a company with the "Apple" reputation. I hope an apple person reads this and gets back with me. I want to be calm and resolve this, ut every effort i have made has failed. BTW, If you dont fix stuff from Hong Kong, then where do the rest of your products come from? and why are they any different?

The manufacturing origin of the iPhone doesn't matter; all iPhones are built in China. The service goes by the country in which the iPhone was sold to the end user. If you purchased the iPhone from an authorized reseller in the US, then Apple should service it in the US.
You should be easily able to prove where you purchased the iPhone by the receipt. Call Apple tech support again, explain the situation, and if they still insist that the iPhone was sold in Hong Kong offer to fax them a copy of the receipt (or forward the email, if you have an email copy of the receipt). If you continue to have problems, ask to speak with someone in Customer Relations.

    I am so upset and disappointed with Verizon customer service right now!!!!
    I had an email about upgrading my son's device early for free to the iphone 5c 32gb. I tried to apply it online on Saturday, 8/23/14, around 9/10am. It would not work online and said that the offer could not be validated online. So, I chatted with an agent on the website (Judy) I believe her name was. I explained everything to her and what not, at the end, she told me that I would need to call Verizon. I called and was on hold on and off for about 30 minutes while the lady checked with her supervisor to put in the order, she asked me what color and checked to ensure it was in stock, she verified my home address as shipping, explained that I would have to pay the $30 activation fee on my next bill and told me that the phone would be shipped in 1-2 business days. Here today is Thursday and I had not received the phone. I call Verizon, the first time, someone hung up on me. The second time, I spoke to a guy and he "cold" transferred me to another person, where I had to explain everything again. She told me that I was supposed to accept terms and conditions and since I was already on the phone with her, that she could transfer me to some automated line where I could put my son's number in and follow prompts. When I put the number in, it went to activation of the line instead, I pressed the button for his phone number and it transferred me to someone else. This person, was very polite, just want to put that out there. She then explained to me that they stopped the promotion on Friday and that she could see in notes where I did speak to someone and that she went over the $30 activation and all that stuff even had the color of the phone on the notes and that she had a supervisor approval, BUT she didn't order the phone!!!!!  So, the only option, based on the supervisor, was that they could graciously offer me an early upgrade for $99.99. So, I asked to be escalated to the supervisor. She informed me that it would be a 20 minute wait and that she would be in and out while I was waiting. The supervisor, believe his name was Richard, kept stating that he didn't understand how I could feel like they owe me anything because they show the promotion closed early and that all he could do was the $99.99. During our conversation, I had to repeat myself many times because he wanted to "make sure he understood me", He also explained to me that if he couldn't finish a sentence without being interrupted, that he would end the call (now mind you, been on the phone for an hour and a half, had not cussed YET, trying to be patient and hoping they would resolve this. He was a jerk. Not because he couldn't fix the problem, though I am not happy because of that, but the entire time, his voice was very cold, as if it did not matter to him whether I left and went to another cell phone carrier and it was more important for him to contradict me about one of the comments I made about being able to upgrade online, where he felt he needed to say that I could only upgrade early through calling them. I love Verizon service and coverage, but if you guys cannot fix this issue ( I did request to hear from his supervisor (which of course will take 24-48 hours), then I will go with someone who has worse coverage but will fix the problem when they are wrong!!!!!

    Ok, so you are saying that it is okay to go thru the ordering process with someone and tell them the phone is in stock and give you one price but then not actually order the phone and not tell you, so you then have to call back and go thru 3 reps before anyone even tells you? Original end date for the promotion is tomorrow.  When I spoke to the rep last Saturday she even told me the phones were in stock. Why should I have to pay a different price when I went thru the ordering process and was quoted at only having the $30 activation fee because they stopped something and didn't tell me and they have all of this in the notes!!

It is not fit for purpose. it constantly keeps searching for network..  both my Texts and Calls fail on almost every attempt.  ive been bounced from Apple to Meteor, back to Apple and still i have a dud phone!!! I have restored it 4 times. sent it bake to meteor, changed sims and still it does not work.
    this issue is know to both Apple and Meteor, yet both companies seem happy to allow customers to have this outrageous experience.

    Your not speaking to Apple here just user to user like you and I.
    have you tried resetting your network in settings.
    Apple doesn't control networks, that would be your carrier they activate your service, so your anger you be towards meteor not apple.

    I can help with the "IR Receiver" part of your question. That's the piece of hardware inside older MacBook Pros (MBPs) that lets them work with the Apple Remote. "IR" is the standard abbreviation for "infrared," the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum used by remotes for many common devices (stereos, cable boxes, Apple TVs, etc.). The remote sends a coded stream of IR pulses; a corresponding receiver in the target device "sees" the infrared light and decodes it. The MBP's internal IR Receiver sends the received signals to the processor via USB through an internal hub.
    The most recent MacBook Pros have dropped the IR receiver and no longer work with the Apple Remote.

    Every web page i open/use, Firefox hangs and becomes unresponsive. It does this 10 times or more while i am trying to browse. I have gone through every step in the troubleshooting issues one by one and several times. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox several times. I have checked CPU, RAM and every other three letters available.
    It has hung, been unresponsive, and had white screen 15 times+ while i have been writing this.
    I have had my computer taken away and looked at by computer techs, they say it is fine now. No viruses, relevant Malware and relevant security attached.
    I use windows 7 premium. This has all just started in the past few months. Laptop is only 18 months old.

    Have you tried to disable hardware acceleration?
    You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
    *Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
    *In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
    *In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
    *Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
    Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

    Do you have a smaller capacity micro SD card to try? I seem to remember from past posts that users were having problems with cards larger than 32GB, however, Apple's page doesn't mention this.

    Why can't you fix the problem for those of us who ended up with multiple Apple IDs and permit us to merge just once? I understand that IDs are tied to software updates but surely you chave the capability tod o this?

    Thanks Jeff, I was not aware that a template could be multi-page.  (All the existing templates were 1 page)
    But it worked, saving me some steps.  When I was finished I renamed the document, and locked it.
    Then tried to save it but  could not because it was locked.  I closed it, went to my Spread Sheet Folder ,
    to find it, it was not there.  The Finder could not find it either.
    So I start over again.
    I opened up Numbers and it showed my personal Numbers template folder, it contained both my new 
    original 4 page template and the vanished saved document!
    I tried to delete the template containing these document data and could not - I had to go to the Library/Application Support/Numbers to physically remove it from this folder. Then I started over again.  I Finally found out how to make it work: I can now "save as", and then lock, and it will go to place where I want it to be saved and locked.
    The secret is: Click on the document title in the menu bar, and it opens up  "Save as...", which works the same as in OS 10.4.11, and you can pick the place you want for saving.  Once done that, you can then lock the document in the same pull down menu, and then close it.
    I also found later that I can delete a template from its folder, by letting Numbers open the templates,
    clicking on the one I want to remove, then go to the "Numbers Menu/File/Move to...", select "Desktop"
    and from there the selected template can then be thrown into the Trash from there.
    It appears now that the real fault of the Numbers software is that the "Save as" command is not available in the "Edit" or "File" pull-down menus, but hidden behind the title of the document.

    Well, 99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
    So, either get a sim card from the carrier your phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked.

    Most likely because Essbase is creating an implicit share relationship between the two members, which is causing the association tab to be grayed out.     This answer is probably the most popular one on the forum.  But apparently, this is a view not shared by virtually anyone else in the industry.  You can pretty much point to the same risks at stake for Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, or what-have-you.  No one else requires you to use a primary account other than their own. 
    The predicament you mentioned could easily be resolved by requiring multiple contact numbers and addresses, which Apple kind of does already.
    My thinking is there's either something more 'sinister' at play, or Apple just haven't really took the time to think about this issue.
