Why can't I attach a file when sending an email [in firefox]

When I am sending an email in fire fox I am unable to attach a file. When I click the button, nothing happens. I am able to attach files when I use a browser other than fire fox.
Can you tell me why this happens only in fire fox.

  • Can't attach some files when sending an email through Safari (via Gmail)

I'm trying to send an email to myself, and I can't seem to attach files that were created using iWork programs (Pages, Numbers etc.) How can I get Safari/Gmail to allow me to email these files?

I can't seem to attach files that were created using iWork programs (Pages, Numbers etc.)
These are not files; they are folders that appear as files to the user. To email them to anyone you must create an archive (.zip file) of them and email that archive to the recipient.

  • Since lion why can I not append a file when replying to an email

I find the new email a real problem. Many times I can't find an email because it is in a group that is now determined by the software.
I use dot be able attach a file when reokying to and email from some one or one that I sent and then someone replied and my reply requires an attachment.
    Not possible.
Anybody know how to fix this?

Not sure what the problem is..... When I originalte an email, or reply to one, I have the paperclip icon that I use to attatch files that need to be sent.
Do you not have the paperclip icon?  If not, when you initiate a new outgoing email, go to the VIEW menu, and make sure Show Toolbar is checked....

I uninstalled Adobe reader, then did the rest of your suggestions but the problem remains. It is only with 3 emails that get resent daily with slight changes to the text. It is like most of the text has been removed from the email.
Thanks for the suggestions and advice

  • Why can't I attach any files to my email

I downloaded firefox 5 and yesterday, and now I am unable to attach any files to my email.
I create artwork and can not attach any illustrator or photoshop files. Why?

I just solved my own problem a few minutes ago. There was a little switch on the bottom of the Traveldrive. Locked or unlocked (the little lock symbols were so small I couldn't read them without a magnifying glass.
Thank you for responding, sorry to trouble you.

  • Why can I not attach multiple files on iPad ???

Why does iPad not allow multiple files to be attached. This is one of the very basic feature all computers must have...why is apple trying to complicate the like of people without this simple feature ???????
Please add this feature in your iOS updates...this is jut crazy !!!!!!

We are just other users here. Apple does not read these posts for your suggestions or complaints. Suggest it here.
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
BTW - the iPad is not a computer and was not designed - at least to this point - to totally take the place of a computer. There are other email apps available as well that may suit your needs - MailShot or Group Email with attachments. Check those out - see if they allow for multiple file attachments.

  • Why can't I attach a PDF to a reply email please?

I cannot attach a PDF to any email using Webmail in Firefox however I can attach a PDF to an email using Webmail if I use Internet Explorer. Does anyone know how to correct this problem please?

As a web designer, I absolutely CANNOT STAND Internet Exploder. It's FULL OF SECURITY FLAWS, and it "doesn't play well" with a great many things that EVERY other browser does with no problem.
I use IE for testing web pages to see that they actually work with it, but other than that it's just taking up about 120mb on my hard drive. It's a complete waste of software.
The FACT that it gives you trouble with something that you even admit Firefox does... merely reinforces my point that IE is garbage disguised as a browser.
As to the trouble... Reader IS NOT and CANNOT BE a part of it, because it IS NOT a part of the process of attaching a file (through Windows Explorer) to an email on a website hosted mail service.
    Don't believe me?
Uninstall Reader completely and try to attach a the PDF that's been giving you trouble. I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that you'll STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM. If that happens without the software even installed, it CAN'T BE THE CAUSE.

  • OWA : Unable to attach a file or send an email

    Hello,
    I have two different users:
    - The first is unable to send mail from the new version of OWA
    - The second can not attach a file
    I tried:
    - Their profiles on different PCs, the problem persists.
    - Their PCs with different profiles, no worries for other profiles.
Passing Light version of OWA it works.
Exchange version 2013 SP1 is installing.
    Could you please help me?
    Thank you very much

    Hi,
I would like to verify whether you have other users. If yes, please verify if they can send emails with attachments.
"The second cannot attach a file.", do you mean she/he can't add an attachment to a message or if she/he add an attachment to a message, this message fails to deliver?
"Passing Light version of OWA it works.", do you mean that both of the problematic users won't have issues when they use light version of OWA?
    Best regards,

  • Why can't I read .pfd files when sent to me in email or web sites?

whenever I get a email or visit a web site I cannot read the attachment or the web site if it is a .pfd document.

I have this problem too with my Western Digital 1TB My Passport for Mac.
Downloaded Card Data Recovery - did not work. The software self terminated itself when the problematic WD is connected. Starts up fine when the WD is not connected by USB.
Then I downloaded Remo Recovery. Starts up fine, scans fine and appears to save the files but ALL the files 'saved' are unreadable.
Finally, downloaded Stellar Phoenix in a last ditch attempt to recover my precious video files. Starts fine, saves fine BUT it cannot save files above 200MB because the WD stops working every 10 minutes. So, did not solve my problem totally because I have so many files above 200MB.
And yes, I PAID for all the software above. And the first two software are reluctant to refund me my money until their development team can ascertain whether it's a software bug, over online web conference. And because of the time differences, I can never get online with them. So, all my money gone.
Until one day I opened Activity Monitor and noticed this 'fsck_hfs' starting up everytime I connected the problematic WD My Passport for Mac.
So, tried to Force Quit 'fsck_hfs' and VOILA!
A dialogue box popped up and says that the Passport for Mac cannot be repaired and that I can move and copy files from it but not save to it.
    PHEW!!
At least I can access the files and save them to my Seagate 1TB although now I am having a problem opening FCP X project files rescued from the WD.

  • Why Can't I attach a file on iOS devices?

I've got a web form together, and I want respondents to be able to attach files from the iphone. I haven't tried it on other smartphone platforms.

The iOS operating system doesn't allow files to be uploaded within a web browser. Because of that you cannot attach files to our forms on iOS.

  • Why can't I open my iphoto when trying to email or useing wetransfer?

When I try to attach a photo through email (not using the app) or use WeTransfer for larger documents I cannot open iphoto like I used to. I recently updated my mac software to the newest one and then had to update iphoto to be compatable .  The regular app works just like it used to but when I try to attach like i mentioned before it's just blank. None of my photo's or albums come up.

If you're referring to accessing the original image files via the Finder inside the library package that went out with iPhoto 7 (08).  The library is not a package and access to the photos for use outside of iPhoto is thru iPhoto.  The following User Tip by Terence Devlin is the best treatise on how to access photos (for use outside of iPhoto):  How to Access Files in iPhoto.

  • Why can I not attach a document to an email? Every time I want to send an email with a document attached to it, an error notice pops out. It tell me that the file is being used even when  it is not. How can I fix this issue?

Why can I not attach a document to an email? Every time I want to send an email with a document attached to it, an error notice pops out. It tells me that the file is being used even when  iall other programs are closed. How can I fix this issue?

Thanks Jeff, I was not aware that a template could be multi-page.  (All the existing templates were 1 page)
But it worked, saving me some steps.  When I was finished I renamed the document, and locked it.
Then tried to save it but  could not because it was locked.  I closed it, went to my Spread Sheet Folder ,
to find it, it was not there.  The Finder could not find it either.
    So I start over again.
I opened up Numbers and it showed my personal Numbers template folder, it contained both my new
original 4 page template and the vanished saved document!
I tried to delete the template containing these document data and could not - I had to go to the Library/Application Support/Numbers to physically remove it from this folder. Then I started over again.  I Finally found out how to make it work: I can now "save as", and then lock, and it will go to place where I want it to be saved and locked.
The secret is: Click on the document title in the menu bar, and it opens up  "Save as...", which works the same as in OS 10.4.11, and you can pick the place you want for saving.  Once done that, you can then lock the document in the same pull down menu, and then close it.
I also found later that I can delete a template from its folder, by letting Numbers open the templates,
clicking on the one I want to remove, then go to the "Numbers Menu/File/Move to...", select "Desktop"
and from there the selected template can then be thrown into the Trash from there.
It appears now that the real fault of the Numbers software is that the "Save as" command is not available in the "Edit" or "File" pull-down menus, but hidden behind the title of the document.
