Why can't i reply to threads

i tried to reply to my thread and whenever I press submit it brings me back to the editor

I see that you've been able to respond to some things, so I assume it was just a momentary glitch.

A bit more information would be needed to understand what's going on?
What happens when you try to reply... Do you get an error message, is there no send button, does a symbol appear?

  • Why can't i access forum threads-- everythread must be opened all of a sudden from showthread.php (?whats that)

i put the machine to sleep for an hour or so. got back on line and can't access the forum threads. i get a window that says:
    '''opening showthread.php'''
    you have chosen to open
    showthread.php
    which is a PHP file
    from: http://(my forum)
what should firefox do with this file?
    * open with [browse button]
    *save file
    do this automatically etc
    ????????????

I don't know much about samba, but I have had very similar problems with netbios in windows, I find it to be very unreliable and I think you would be better off with ftp, but that's just my opinion. Apart from that, are you sure you have the necessary ports opened, and so do they? And you might need a line in /etc/hosts.allow

  • Why can't I reply to my emails

I receive mails but can no longer reply as I can't see the reply icon

Two things can be happening here that I have seen in the past. The icon is not rendering because the cache is corrupt or an add on is affecting it.
In order to troubleshoot this, please try to read your mail in a new private window. This will tell you if it is the cache.
Please also make sure that all of your addons are up to date in the about:addons page. The flash plugin is out with version 15 and Firefox version 33.1.1. Please update these as well to see if it is a compatibility issue.

I can't find any setting that would cause this.

Look at the header of one of the emails to which you can not reply, What is the "received using" at the top... it is "unknown"?

  • Why can't I reply to emails since ios5 update?

Since I updated to ios 5 I can't reply to mail.  I can receive and send mail and type a reply but as I press send the app crashes and returns to the home screen.

This may be a network issue in which case you can go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Other than that it may be an issue with the mail server, so I would try deleting the account from Mail and re-adding it. If neither works, you may have to do a restore.

  • Why can't I reply to emails?

I get emails (also junk mail!!) on my iPhone. When I try to reply or send an email it says it can't go through.
    What's up with that??
    Thanks

What's likely up is that your SMTP (sending) server either isn't configured properly in the email account settings, or doesn't accept emails sent to it over the cell network. Since you provided no useful info such as the exact error message, your email provider and account settings, you can't get much specific advice how to fix it.
One thing to try is to use the AT&T SMTP server:
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > (your account) > SMTP > Primary Server > OFF; Other SMTP Servers > AT&T SMTP Server > ON

  • WHY CAN'T I REPLY TO A LOT OF RECEIVED EMAILS?

VERY OFTEN I TRY TO SEND OR REPLY TO AN EMAIL,AND UP WILL POP A PAGE TELLING ME THAT MY COMP. WILL ONLY SEND SMTP OR SOMETHING.

== I BOUGHT MY HP COMPUTER 8 MONTHS AGO

There really is no way to do what you are describing.  About the closest I can think of would be to close the reading pane from "View" in the toolbar.  Then sort the list by using "From" as the criteria.  That will put them in alphabetical order so you can scroll to where you need to be.  But it would only be handy if you had a relatively small number of emails in the Inbox or another folder.  Another option might be to sort them as I described, and then do a search for one of the names in the letter range you are looking for.

  • Why can't I reply to my Question????

I have tried to reply to a question I asked several days ago and can't??: The question was "Should I renew my contract for 2 more years"  I not sure which is more frustrating my service or this forum??  Guess I'm headed to US Cellular.

You mean Should I renew my service for 2 more years? discussion? How were you able to create this new post? Some browser versions have issues with the community. IE10 is one them that does. Try a different browser or device. You can also setup your profile to receive email notifications of posts and allow you to reply from your inbox.

  • Why can't I reply with POP email address?

    Hello, I have a problem.
I have just set up a new POP account and I also have a .mac account. My POP account is my work email so ideally it would be handy if when somebody emails my work account, when I reply, I reply with my work email address as opposed to my @mac address. Any ideas? Have I set it up wrong? Also, is there any way in which I can direct my POP emails into a specific folder?
I am a new Mac user, have been using Windows for years (have now seen the light!!)

    Hello Vonnie.
When replying to or forwarding a message received by a particular account, the account the message was received by should be the default sending account and email address for the message.
Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Account Information tab for the POP work account, what is the email address entered in the Email Address field for the account?
When opening "In" in the mailboxes drawer by selecting the black triangle beside it pointing it down will reveal the account named Inbox mailbox for each account. When selecting the account named Inbox mailbox for your POP work account will reveal messages received by that account only in the message list. When selecting "In" in the mailboxes drawer reveals a "blended" Inbox mailbox for all accounts in the message list.
The same applies under Drafts, Sent, Trash and Junk (if you have Junk Mail set to automatic) in the mailboxes drawer.
You can utilize user created "On My Mac" mailboxes which are stored locally on the hard drive and create a rule or multiple rules in Mail to sort received messages to user created "On My Mac" mailboxes by category.
To create a mailbox, at the menu bar go to Mailbox and select New Mailbox. The default location is "On My Mac" and if you have a .Mac or IMAP type account, you can also create server stored mailboxes.
Enter a name for the mailbox and when finished, select OK. The user created mailbox will be available in the Mailboxes drawer. It will appear as a folder but is actually a mailbox. You can nest mailboxes within other mailboxes if desired. You can manually move a received or sent message from an account's Inbox or Sent mailbox to a user created mailbox or as previously provided, create a rule to automatically transfer received messages to a designated created mailbox by category.

  • Why can't I reply to received email?

I tried to reply to an email today, but Mail acted strangely. When I hit the Reply icon, it turned into Reply to All, but didn't transmit. When I clicked on Reply to All, it turned back into Reply, but didn't transmit. It kept repeating this sequence, Reply to Reply to All and back, without ever going anywhere.
I tested other email and found I had the same problem. It seems something got corrupted, but what? And how do I fix it?

As a first step, try resetting launch services.

If no change afterwards, perform the system troubleshooting procedures per this link and when doing so, follow all steps/instructions in the order provided.
