Why can't we deactivate PBET ?

SAP Help says : "Once you have activated and configured period-based encumbrance tracking
it is not possible to resort back to fiscal annual-based encumbrance tracking".
First of all, I have no idea why (or since when) PBET was enabled in our system.  I just found that we are now using update profile 102.  We have no plan to activate multi-year budget execution, and on 01-Apr-09 we only enabled the year-dependent master data for Funds center hierarchy.
After 01-Apr-09, this PBET setting suddenly caused workflow errors at our final approval of cross-year Fund Reservation documents.  So I tried in our QAS system to resort back to the fiscal annual-based encumbrance tracking (i.e. via the IMG "Override Update Profile" function).  To my surprise I was allowed to save the "update profile" changes.  Then I restarted the failed work items and they went through successfully.
Now my questions :
(1)  if after PBET activation we SHOULD not (instead of "CANnot") revert the changes, why would the system allow it?
(2)  any risks or hidden impacts we should consider before applying such changes to our production system?  So far our test results in the QAS system look positive.
(3)  any means to find out if the PBET was already turned on 1 year ago?  or since 2006's initial launch?

2)  How FM gets updated?:<BR>
- With PBET: document and account assignment changes are entered in commitment as individual documents<BR>
- Without PBET: original document data are overwritten<BR>
Activation of PBET implies increase of data volume since chronological changes are recorded in tables FMIOI and FMIFIIT (and FMIT is updated subsequently)<BR>
Deactivating PBET will change this behaviour and therefore document changes will overwrite existing records in FM tables. You may encounter some issues during fiscal year change again since, for instance, the current amounts (most recently updated) could be in a date earlier than prior changes & reductions...This would require possible data reconstruction (via tools mentioned in note 189761)<BR><BR>
3) how to find out when PBET was turned On one year ago is also hard. It could have been active by default in your update profile, or maybe it was activated and transported to all of your systems. I can only suggest you to check the old transport requests containing the relevant IMG activity, as I presume the system logs are no longer present in your system after one or more years.<BR><BR>
Anyway, You say you never wanted this feature but it was somehow present in your system(!)....I presume everything would have been tested before going live and results were accepted, including operations during fiscal year change.<BR>
But then, after fiscal year change you found out some problems with Workflows, because documents from the previous year could not be approved in the new Fiscal year.<BR>
In the reference message you were suggested to use Carry Forward, FMOD, and EXIT_SAPLFMFA_004 but none of these options were suitable in your opinion.<BR>
These options are delivered by SAP to accomplish PBET logic during fiscal year change. FMOD and the EXIT can be enabled temporarily when both the new and the old fiscal year are still open in parallel due to closing activities.<BR>
However none of these did suit you...but it does for most of customers (provided that they chose the most appropriate update profile fitting their business needs)<BR>
I honestly think these options are better than deactivating PBET like that.<BR><BR>
This decission must obviously be taken under a project scope because we in the forum don't know the whole business behind, so if you decided PBET deactivation, we will all try our best when giving any sort of answer.<BR>

    Having a frustrating few days. I work for a large company that do everything by the book when it comes to software (and rightly so). I upgraded from Premium CS 5.5 on Mountain Lion to Premium CS 6. I downloaded the trial version and successfully input my new serial number and only after the installation had completed did all the problems start to manifest. Everytime I opened an app I would get an error message telling me that the software did not install properly. My acrobat would not open or respond. I tried to unistall CS6 and ran the adobe cleaner app to see would that resolve the problem, and it didn't.
    I ran the installation software again and still have the same problems, I cannot deactivate or uninstall it now. There seems to be no CS uninstaller like there was in CS4, alI the uninstaller apps aliases (in the indivdual apps folders) are just shortcut aliases that don't respond. I would like to completely remove it now.
    Please can some advise what I can to either 'manually' deactivate it and remove it. Really need help on this!!!!

    Dear friends on the forum:
    I recently purchased Abode CS4 on-line
    and managed to install it OK.  Just the other day, however, it crashed and wouldn't let me launch it again so I
    uninstalled CS4, used Cleanscript then re-downloaded the program and re-installed it--or tried to!  What I got was that little window that appears right off the bat
    saying "Adobe Premiere Pro Installer: Initiallizing" with the caption below reading "Checking System Profile"  All well and good.  However, that thin blue line indicated progress of the process gets 90% accross then stops, never to go to the end.
    Any suggestions as to what I might do about this?   I have a PC running Windows XP Home Edition with an Intel Pentium 4 CPU with 2.8 GHz and 2.5 GB of RAM.

    Yes I did buy my copy of CS4 from Adobe, Bill.  I didn't deactivate my copy before uninstalling, however.  How does one do that?  In any case, I went through this twice.  The first time, I simply uninstalled CS4 by going through the control panel.  Then I ran Clean Script but, of course, CS4 was already gone so I uninstalled all other CS4 applications (like Encore).   I then reinstalled CS4 from the setup file that was already on my computer and it was when that problem with "Checking System Components"or however it was phrasedcame up.  I tried uninstalling everything again and deleting the setup files, re-downloading it all and trying to re-re-install!  Same problem.
    I tried the link to kindly provided but it led me to "Unexpected Error" at the site where it was supposed to be.  I will try again later.  In the meantime, if you have any further suggestions in light of the above, I'd be humbly grateful. 
    A computer-savvy friend suggested that I purchase a new hard drive, install it on my computer along with my O/S (Windows XP) and CS4 and get the BIOS to point to that drive when it goes to boot up the computer.  He said that I should dedicate this drive exclusively to my video work.  Does any of this make sense?

    I'm using iTunes 11.4 on a Mac Pro with OS 10.9.5
    In good old iTunes 10.7  there was a slider on the right side that you can move up and down to locate songs.   That same slider is there, (but much smaller), with iTunes 11.4, but it seems to deactivate itself for reasons I do not understand.
    I have found that when I go to the lower right corner and resize the iTunes window the slider will appear briefly.   If I don't act very fast, that slider vanishes and I cannot scroll up and down.

    As Apple said in June, iOS 7 is not compatible with the 4G iPod.
    All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory (RAM). The 4G iPod only has 256 MB

    Why can't I install Premier Elements 12 on a second computer without paying for it again. The computer I originally installed the program on died. When I open Premier 12 on the second computer a window pops up to either buy it or use it on a trail basis. I already paid for it once.

    There could be several scenarios for your situation.
    1. You purchased Premiere Elements 12 as a download to a Windows computer and you want to use those downloaded 12 installation files on a Mac computer.
    2. You already have the same purchased serial number on more than 2 of your computers. If this is the case and you want to download to a 3rd computer, then you need to deactivate that same purchased serial number from one of the 2 computers.
    a. you can deactivate the purchased serial number from the working computer
    b. you will need Adobe via its Adobe Chat to deal with the purchased serial number trapped on the crashed computer.
    Please review and determine which scenario applies to you. If none, please give more details.

    I need to deactivate Acrobat Web Premium CS3 on an older XP machine and activate it on a new Win7 Enterprise.
    The application is on both machines successfully installed/registered and I can continue to click on Help | activate/deactivate (On both machines activate and deactivate is not greyed out),
    but I’m receiving the message Activation - No Connection
    I’ve checked the internet connection, proxy server  and host file, all are correct.

    Actually, everyone missed one point, when a device is priced, the cost of icloud storage space for that device is also included in it that is why they are able to give you 5gb each for each user ID, in nutshell there is nothing free coming with apple device purchase, it is paid for.  What they are trying by giving only 5gb per user ID irrespective of the number of devices used is pure broadlight looting, they take money from you when you buy each device and give you nothing, This is a case of goods and services bought but not fully deliverd ie apple can be suied for discreminatory treatment towards it's users. I wonder why no one tried this yet in America where everyone sue everyone for petty things..... there is no one to take up this issue? . if tim got any love for the guys who shell out money for the devices his company makes, he should be implimenting this as priority before someone wake up from sleep and sue him.

    I want to use my child on family share but can't because I don't need or want a credit card, my bank has fraud protection, who actually just called me about fraud because I purchased the newest iPhone! I don't like credit cards. Why can't I just use my debit card as usual? Kids can get credit cards just as easily as they can debit cards! This is ridiculous. Why isn't there another option to verify I am the parent?! I am so beyond angry right now. Like I am being punished for not owning a credit card!! Otherwise there will be another way to do this. A person should have the freedom to use their chosen form of payment without missing out on all the options available. Honestly even if I wanted a credit card I haven't enough credit because of past mistakes. So this is not making me happy at all.

    I feel your pain. We refuse to have credit cards, too; yet it's required in order to create a child's apple id. I will most definitely be leaving feedback with Apple. This is absolutely ridiculous that we can't just use our debit cards! Mine is a VISA. I use it to make CREDIT CARD transactions everywhere else, why not be able to use it the same way here!?
    I just had to restore my sons phone because he forgot his 4-digit password and got it disabled. I didn't have it already on my itunes so my only option was to restore it. I wanted to create his own apple id so he didn't have to keep using mine. Because every time he downloads a new game it automatically ends up on MY device as well, not just his. Anyway, he needs his own apple id. But, apparently, that won't be happening until Apple gets their heads out of their butts and figures out how to serve ALL of their customers!

  • Why can you NOT get a straight forward answer on upgrading to Edge?

    On Saturday morning I called customer care with a SIMPLE question about how the Edge Program works. The lady I spoke with gave me information that didn't make sense and told me one of my lines could move to edge and the other could only after 6 months of on-time payments. That didn't make sense to me, how could one be eligible and not the other when the explanation of WHEN would be eligible is contingent upon 6 months payments. I was so irritated I started shopping at other carriers to see what their "Edge" like programs work like and was considering switching carriers. So, I called back and spoke with another guy to find out what my ETF's were and he informed me that I COULD upgrade both lines to a Note 4 for about $5 above what my bill is a mo. each with all of the discounts applied. I told him that I would go to a Verizon store and probably upgrade instead of cancelling. So, I went to the store and was treated TERRIBLY!! I was told that I could not move both of my lines to the edge program with the Note 4. I was told I could move to Edge with both lines but one would have to be a Droid and the other could be whatever phone I wanted. I was blown away with yet another piece of information that was not matching up with what I was told. He said I could call customer care and see if they could do anything. I was BLOWN away that a corporate Verizon store would just turn me away (which was extremely demeaning and embarrassing in front of their other customers) to call customer care again and tell me my best option would be to cancel if I wanted a new phone for the line I wanted to upgrade. So, I called customer care again and spoke with another lady who correctly informed me (I think) of how it works and stated there was nothing she could do on the line that was not eligible which should have been told in the previous conversation with the guy I spoke with. One thing struck me as odd, she said the phone is on a lease with Edge so the phone is never yours, which is something NO ONE mentioned at any point in any prior conversation. So, is that true? I now know where I stand with upgrading but my original questions about how Edge works are still not fully answered and what the last rep stated brings up other questions. If it's "leased" what happens if it's broken or lost? Anyway, I was looking for what I thought was a straight forward answer to a question about how Edge works, how much it costs, and are my lines eligible, etc. and wasted a good hour on the phone and another two driving to a store just to get turned away like as though no one even cared! The last lady I spoke with seemed to care but I'm blown away with the TERRIBLE customer service and COMPLETE lack of ownership. Why can no one take the feedback and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT and then answer my questions about the Edge program. Bottom line, I'm not looking for a freebie upgrade (though maybe I should for all of the time wasted due to incorrect/inaccurate information). but I'm blown away that no one wants to do anything.
    That all being said, can someone on here explain how Edge works with the discounts and is the phone really a "leased" phone? Pretty sad that I'm resorting to forums to ask other customers how it works but would appreciate any info anyone can share. I'm probably going to port both of my numbers to AT&T if it is true they are a lease and due to all of the terrible customer service.

    I just saw in another post that if it's an "early" edge I would have to turn in the phones. No one told me that either and now I wonder if just forget Edge and port out. What's the advantage of doing Edge with all this confusion and red tape? Is an early edge considered early if you're upgrading with Edge prior to the contract end on the current phone? Verizon Customer Care and Stores REALLY NEED to be up front about this stuff! From what I see here and what others are going through Edge is a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE program.

    I have been sent here by you customer service team to make a complaint.
    I have recently purchased Windows 8.1 pro student as a download. I need this for university and was planning on boot camping my mac to do this. I am told the only way to download this product is with a windows machine. I have tried at work but need administrator
    privileges also.  
    This is simply a ridiculous system that you need the operating system that you are downloading to make the download occur. You should be able to download an iso file or the like. I have ordered a backup media (obviously at my expense).
    The customer service people I spoke to were very unhelpful. Also this process of complaints is poor. Why can i not talk to someone re a complaint?

    Generate the error message again. While the error message box is open, hold down the Alt key and hit the PrtSc key. Paste the screenshot into an image file (using a program like Paint), and save the file.
    Start a reply here and click the wee camera icon at the top of the reply window. Click "Choose file", browse to the image file, select the file and click "Open". Now click "Insert file" to insert the screenshot into the reply.
