Why can't you let us download SQLplus and Net8 by itself

I want to be able to download Sqlplus and Net8 without downloading something else. I know it is packaged with other development tools. It would be helpful for those don't want to use Oracle's developemnt tools but just want to connect to Oracle database using sqlplus.

The Oracle Client in the most compact way to get SQL*Plus and Oracle Net, although this is still quite large. SQL*Plus has a lot of dependencies on RDBMS libraries, and the Oracle Client is the best way for you to get just what you need.
As the previous poster suggested, iSQL*Plus might be a better option, and this is included with the Server download, ie, Enterprise Edition, Standard Edition and Personal Edition.

It seems odd that you can log onto TVNZ TV on demand and watch programmes directly on your computer and yet they won't let them be channelled through the Apple TV.
The Apple TV would be more use if it could access TVNZ [ say ] and play the episodes from there instead of having to go through iTunes.
I am a bit cross that Apple market the Apple TV with what it can do in US and yet it wasn't made clear that in New Zealand it is a virtually useless piece of kit.
I have been buying Apple products since 1985 and this is the first time I have been dissatisfied.
Having said that it may not be the fault of the product !! Just the country in which I am trying to use it.
That is another oddity in that New Zealand prides itself in being a World Leader in EFTPOS and internet banking and yet is so abysmal at entertainment sharing !
A very compliant nation where having fun is frowned upon !

Apple tend to provide regular updates with access to more content, they have added PBS and Yahoo in the last few days.
Nobody here will have any information about future updates since the community is only made up of users like you or I. Anything else is mere speculation and speculation is not permitted here under the Terms of Use for these communities.
Any responses you may receive may well be removed and would be wholly unreliable in any case.
If you believe that Apple's product may be enhanced in anyway you can leave feedback here.

I don't see that you've ever asked a question here before, nor can I see a complete question in your all caps jumble which is very hard to read.
However a couple of days ago the servers were messed up and undoubtedly questions as well as a great many answers may have been lost. So why don't you tell us in normal letter case what your questions are? Look at the bottom of the following report http://health.support.com/ and at the top of the report it looks like things are working now. We are volunteers (Firefox users like you).

Apple has no App Store in Iran. The US Government has severe restrictions on US companies doing business in Iran, and there may well be other issues such as lack of available infrastructure, issues with Iranian law, or other problems that would also prevent Apple from doing business there.
Unless and until Apple is able to open an App Store in your country there's nothing you can do, and quite frankly I think that's not likely to happen anytime in the foreseeable future.

If your BC Assistant shows the option to create a USB Installer, it automatically is marked as bootable. There is no need to have manual intervention to make a bootable USB. Once the process is manually modified, it is supported by the person modifying it.
You have two or three options (depending on your Mac Model).
1. Create USB... - Use a USB2 flash drive, which is erased and formatted. If your Mac supports ISOs then BCA will prompt for the Media. Any Mac which does not have a built-in Optical drive will support an ISO. There are specific Mac models which support both, DVD and USB based installation.
2. Download Software from Apple servers...
3. Install Windows...

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

Why can't you trim or merge (pathfinder) a gradient?

Whenever I try to trim or merge a gradient it only divides it, but when it's solid it works. Why? I'm trying to trim/merge some artwork with a lot of gradients and it's making it impossible. If anyone knows of a way to do this with gradients please let me know. Here is an image of what I'm talking about showing it working with solids, but not gradients.

Yes I mean why can't you trim or merge a gradient object (not mesh gradient) like a solid object? Both are objects and both get split in some way without effecting the gradient itself (besides splitting the object of course). So why is it that it only allows gradient objects to basically be divided only, but not merged or trimmed. It seems like it should work, but for some reason is treats solid objects as solid objects and gradients objects as solid objects with overprint fill applied. I really wish Adobe would address this as it doesn't make sense to clip out the gradient area if the gradient isn't required to change. What's the point of having the trim or merge if it only divides it? What's the point of leaving objects underneath the gradient? It just seems to defeat the purpose of both operations.
For anyone else following this thread the way to workaround this is by copying each gradient, pasting behind (ctrl+b) and then changing it to a solid color that is not in the design. Once you trim or merge you can select same fill color to delete the solid color from underneath and then you are just left with the gradient properly trim/merged. The bad news is this is super time intensive if you have 100s of gradients on multiple different levels as paste behind pastes only directly behind the object you had selected, so if your order is not perfect some objects will actually paste in front which you don't want.
Alternatively you could trim or merge everything and then select same fill color and then reunite each gradient, but that changes the gradient position itself so you'll have to reapply the correct angle, etc to each gradient which again is time consuming.
For all those wondering why do I need to be able to do this. I work with spot colors which have to be trapped correctly with gradients. This requires overlapping gradients and doing overprint fills to make sure they blend properly. If I trim/merge the gradient objects if puts lines through the gradient that shows up in print and makes it more difficult to apply the underlaying color correctly.

You have records showing I have PAID for them, they were all purchased through iTunes, they are just audio files like my music, but I'm not allowed to redownload my audiobooks? This policy encourages piracy and discourages use of iTunes. Why should I (Or any consumer) continue to use a service that doesn't cover me when I can go to a 3rd party like audible.com and be secure in the knowledge that purchases are protected?

Why do I have to fill out that form and wait a day after EVERY, SINGLE, RELEASE just to update more than one system? I have 150,000 nodes to upgrade. Why does Adobe go out of their way to make this difficult? Why the hell don't you inform people who already signed up about the new installers BEFORE they go to auto-update so system administrators could actually distribute them beforehand?
How could this possibly be a good thing for Adobe? I just had 50,000 nodes try to upgrade on their own, ALL OF THEM failed. That's 750 GIGABYTES of bandwidth you just wasted Adobe, yours and mine.
No more Flash updates I guess. There is no reason this has to be so terrible.

The shortcut "Ctrl+J" takes you to the Downloads Manager, it is basically a journal of downloads. If the file is deleted afterwards it knows nothing about that.
So if you download to a temporary files directly you could have many things clearing that. Likewise if you have Firefox set up to clear your history and that includes downloads you would lose them.

If you are in Private session ("Ctrl+Shift+P") or permanent Private session with Tools > Options > Privacy > "Never Remember History" you would lose them.
Right click on one of the files in the downloads to see where it was downloaded to. Also see about:config settings mentioned in the following along with other problems.
