Because your printer has to be Airprint compatible and connected to WiFi. There are applications, such as Printopia, that will allow you to print through your computer.

Why would you need to ADD a new Client. Unless the APE sytem is completely different then any other Wireless router the printer should get an IP address from the router. That is IF the printer is setup to get an IP from the LAN DHCP server.
Now you may want to make that IP it does get a Staticly assign IP address so it never changes, which will screw up printing if it does change. But i don't know if you can do that with APE routers. -

why can't I print from my ipad 2 on my epson workforce 840 printer ??? it show that there isn't a printer on my Ipad and my printer is wireless.
The 840 isn't supported by Airprint. See the list here:

You may be able to use a universal printing app (check the app store), or Epson may make an app. Or you could get a more up-to-date printer. -
I can't print using airprint from my iPhone 4. Everything with the phone and the printer and router are up to date. I can print from my iPad 2 with no problems. What's wrong with the iPhone 4?
I just wanted to leave a note that it's working now. I'm not sure if it was the latest iTunes update that got it working or that i decided to start a new library instead of using the one i had backed up on Windows 8 (it didn't occur to me to check using the old library when i re-installed iTunes). But if anyone is having this problem, it might be worth trying again with a new installation of iTunes to see if the latest update works for you, and if not, try using a fresh library instead of a backup (by fresh library i mean discard your old library completely and start a new library, not just restore as new iPhone, a whole new library).

You don't need to be connected to the internet to be able to print. But you do need a router so you can connect wirelessly. You could get a portable router.

Depending on the printer, you may be able to connect/print by creating an ad-hoc (Wi-Fi direct with no router) connection. Check with your printer manufacturer to see if this is supported.
There's a ton of info out there. You could google "ipad print ad-hoc" for some useful info. But the number one thing for you right now is to verify that your printer model supports an ad-hoc connection. -

I have a Lexmark Prevail Pro 705. Latest (as of july 30, 2012) firmware. Mac driver v 11.0
I can no longer communicate wirelessly with the scan feature of the printer. I can print no problem using a wireless connection. Using a window's machine I can scan wirelessly from the printer. It seems that my iMac (OSX 10.8, 3.06 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 24inch early 2009) is not connecting to it. I can put a USB cord into the computer and scan.
Any ideas? This came up starting 2 weeks ago. I had hoped the operating system upgrade would solve it. It has not. I see nothing on the Lexmark boards about this. If the printer has WiFi, Kodak has an app in the iTunes Store that allows printing to at least some of their WiFi-equipped printers. Third-party printing apps such as PrintCentral are also available. All such apps have limitations, so check them out thoroughly before you pay for any such app.
For other printers, you can route the printing through your computer. If you have a Mac, Printopia would be worth a look. Fingerprint is another option that is available for both Mac OS X and Windows system. You could also consider an AirPrint-capable print server. Lantronix makes a couple of models, including one that supports a USB printer:

Sure can.
With a document open in Pages, select to print so that you can see the print dialog as shown below.
Note that to see this view, you may need to press the Show Details button in the bottom left corner. In the image above, since I have the expanded view displayed, this button changes to Hide Details
So with the view shown, first change the Presets menu to Default Settings. Then click the Layout drop menu and select Quality & Media. Make the changes you want and then click on the Presets menu and select Save Current Settings as Preset...
At the next window, give the Preset a name and select the Only this Printer radio button and then click OK to save it. That's it.
As for the Preset that you already have, if you no longer want this preset then you can delete it via the Show Presets menu pane that you've used already. -

Hi - you would need to purchase a printer that is enabled to print from an iPad, iPhone or iPod - these would include ePrint, iPrint and AirPrint printers - you would then install the appropriate app on you iPad and be able to print - the installation setup for each type of printer would enable you to do this.
