i just bought an 8g nano but i loaded 725 songs just straight music no videos no pictures and it says its full i know its says i should be able to fit up to 2000 songs 725 is no where near that my 4g has 800 on it is there something i'm doing wrong or something i need to do i just dont get it and i've tried it a few times with the same results!!! Its getting very frustrating!!!!! thanks

If your songs are longer than 4 minutes on average or encoded at a bitrate higher than 128Kbps, fewer than 2000 will fit on the iPod.

Why did Adobe see fit to eliminate, "Print Without Color Mangement", and when are they going to restore it? None of their workarounds is really adequate when printing through a rip. Prior to CS5 it was all so simple. Now, I keep CS4 onboard just for printing. Is there actually a good rationale for the elimination of such a useful function?

Adobe was forced to remove the NCA mode because the current OS X Mac print pipeline and print drivers quit supporting it. Photoshop CS5 & 6 and LR 3 & 4 can't send unmanaged data to the Mac pipeline; it'es either application managed color or printer managed color and iehter case, the data gets modified by the pipeline–which means the current apps can't send data with NCM.
The printer utility can do a workaround to do so.
Note, this isn't yet an issue on Windows but for cross platform uniformity, it was removed there as well. So, if you want to yell at somebody, go yell at Apple...
And no, it ain't coming back...

i copied a cd using itunes

Dont have that problem but i have two tips:
1 Other ipod/iphone apps: they are often the problem, i had an alarm clock and that blocked the whole ipod app, so check if other apps dont use songs to wake up or anything else..
2 try to leave the ipod app trough the multitasking instead of pressing the home button?

My 4 GB ipod mini is now only holding 215 songs and it is supposed to be able to hold around 1,000. I have my importing setting set to MP3, 128 bp which I think is supposed to be the best if I want to increase the number of songs....but its not working. Any way to change this? Should I compress using something else?

It's probably because you have the import settings and bitrate set wrong. Look in iTunes under edit/preferences/importing. What does it say in settings and import using? You need to compress your music using either mp3 or aac. If you see AIFF, WAV or Apple Lossless then those formats are going to take way more space than mp3 or aac, especially the first 2 which are raw uncompressed formats. Bear in mind that Apple quotes the number of songs you are able to store on any iPod by using aac at 128kbps for a 4 minute song.

Do not use Apple lossless either. This will typically produce a file size much larger than mp3 or aac.
And don't let anyone tell you what to use. Try both mp3 and aac, and you decide what's best. After all, they're your ears!

If the iPod is set to auto transfer, then the songs on your iPod would be removed if you were deleting them from the iTunes library after putting them on the iPod.
If you have the iPod set to manual transfer of songs, the songs already on your iPod should not be removed each time you add new ones (even if you were to delete them from iTunes afterwards.
The directions in the manual don't match the summary screen if you are using the latest iTunes version 7.0.1.
If there's no particular reason you want to transfer songs manually, then try the auto method again and post back if you encounter problems.

Why did my iPad 2 abruptly reduce its wifi connectivity?

Roughly two weeks ago, my iPad 2 (64GB/3G/wifi), which I've had for about 18 months, suddenly reduced its ability to connect with wifi sources (in-house dual-band router) that I've been using for that entire time; full details are here. Note that my wife's iPad 2 (identical model, bought a little before mine) works just fine from the same spot (sees and connects to both bands, as mine used to, while mine now only sees one band and can't connect to it from that spot). At first, I thought it might be a side-effect of the latest iOS upgrade (6.1.3), but as noted, my wife's iPad works just fine and it's upgraded to 6.1.3 as well.
I've already done a lot of the usual remediations (reboot iPad, reboot router, etc.), none of which helped; it's pretty clear that the wifi in my iPad no longer works as well as it did. The one thing I haven't tried yet -- in case this is, in fact, some kind of software problem -- is a clean restore of the iPad.
Anyone else seen this problem and, if so, is there a solution? Please read the link above before making suggestions; I have a fairly strong technical background and, as noted, have pursued most of the obvious paths. Thanks. ..bruce..

Test your iPad on some other networks. If it has problems there then it likely has developed a hardware problem. If so, contact Apple Support.

Why did my phone duplicate my songs?

ok so i plugged my phone into my computer and when i looked at my music almost all my songs had duplicated. when i tried deleting the duplicates it deletes both songs. what do i do???

Never Mind, I figured it out byt reading another thread. For some reason, I did not have the "Sinc only Checked Items" checked on my phone. Hopefully this will resolve my frustration.

Why did C100V only flag 2 of 40 spam messages to spam quarantine?

CIO received about 40 emails from the same sender "[email protected]" Subject: new editor. The messages were sent between 1:32 am and 6:19 am EST Sunday 4/26/2015. Every email looks exactly the same. After he received about 6 messages, the ironport flagged two as spam. After that he received about 30 more messages. Searching on the sender looks like he was the only recipient of this spam so that's good.
We are curious why some were blocked but the vast majority made it through. What is the best course of action to mark them as spam without having to chase a never ending battle of blocking the email address?
I will also try to open a TAC case with Cisco as the appliance did not function properly as it should, but I'm also interested in hearing other real world user's opinions as well.

I've seen CASE get the idea half-way through a spam run, but not to admit spams after it had canned some. Have you been into the headers to check the SBRS ratings of the actual sending servers? The spams might all appear the same but I'm betting different sources of origin.

I went through the copying process twice and when I opened the movie I only got 17 sec and a still picture - different one each time. It took and hour or more to copy each time. What else can I do?

You have to select the chapter on the DVD which represents the entire video you want to encode.
If the video is made up of 17 seperate chapters, you have to select each chapter individually and add each one to the Queue. Once all 17 are in the queue, click start and the 17 chapters will be encoded into 17 seperate files.
What version of VLC player did you get? If it was version 2, you may need the additional vlc library. Just do a search and the result is readily available

Genius Mix Categories - Why did mine change?

I built up a library of about 22,000 tunes. Of these approximately 68% are jazz and identified as such by the itunes genre. When Genius mixes first appeared, there was a Jazz mix. Pretty darn cool. It was my default when I just wanted to listen. Approximately 4 months ago, it suddenly vanished. Itunes maintained lots of other Genious mix genres, like experimental rock. Yeah I have a few in this category. Maybe 2%. I have tried turning genius off and back on. Still get 12 categories, none of them jazz. It baffles me that the Genius algorithm can flat out ignore 70% of my library? Interestingly enough on my other computer, which I have about 800 (all included in my big library on my main computer) tunes, again mostly jazz, I have not just a jazz mix, but a great mix called Bebop/Hard Bop. So, I know itunes still acknowledges the existence of Jazz (unlike the Grammys).
Can somone provide some guidance to help me at the very least get the so called Genius to bring back the Jazz mix? Thanks in advance

There is no hack I've seen to bring back the option. I seem to recall posts from people who'd attempted to use the Address Book application from 10.6, but I don't recall if any of the attempts were successful. As an alternative, you might take a look at Cobook:

It's free while it's in beta, and many of us are finding it a great adjunct or outright replacement for the Address Book application. It may not fit your needs, but it might be worth a look.

If you are not able to put more, it is most probably because of the size of your song files. My guess is that you have imported your CD in AIFF format. This format will gives you the better song quality, however, since this is an uncompressed audio format, the size of the files will be quite large.
What you should do is to import your audio CD in a compress format. The format that will give you the smaller files without impacting the audio quality too much will be AAC. Go in iTunes preferences in the Advenced tab, select importing and, on the field "Import Using", select AAC encoder. You should deleted your previously imported song before and reimport them with this setting and you will be able to fill you iPod with much more songs.

It sounds like your computer has been associated with another Apple ID in the past 90 days. Here is some information regarding this process.
When you turn on iTunes Match or Automatic Downloads, or when you download past purchases on an iOS device or computer, that device or computer becomes associated with your Apple ID. Your Apple ID can have up to 10 devices and computers (combined) associated with it, with a maxium of 5 computers at any time. Each computer must also be authorized using the same Apple ID. Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days. You can view which devices or computers are currently associated with your Apple ID, remove unused devices or computers, and view how many days remain before the devices or computers can be associated with a different Apple ID from the Account Information page in iTunes on your computer:
