Why do I have to keep loging on every few minutes on public forum sites

After signing on to some public forum sites I'm told to refresh the page and log on again when trying to post or answer a post. And then I only get a few minutes to submit something before the message comes up again to refresh and log on. This doesn't happen on all sites.

Done that often. No result. I have also done a removal of everything Firefox and Internet explorer, done a download of Internet Explorer through the MS start menu link, made that my default and then did a download of Firefox from there, changing my default back to Firefox. I then installed all my add-ons .
I saved nothing from the old version of Firefox.
All this was necessary after doing a Firefox reload, in an effort to correct slowness and hanging, wrecked everything. It made the computer completely unstable.
It works fine now, loads Firefox/Google start page in 12sec, [used to be anything from 30+ secs] search result is instant, couldn't be better.
But my original problem still remains, some often visited forum sites require me to keep logging on if I wish to post/answer. Facebook works fine, but I hardly ever go there, if at all. I run Viper security program which is excellent, and have a speed of 100 Mbps.

Since the MobileMe move I keep getting a pop-up screen that says "IDisk Conflict Resolver." I've done everything asked to "resolve" the problem but it keeps popping up every few minutes. How can I get rid of this?

    Ok....so I have found a work around....if not a complete solution.
I'm not sure if deleting your music, uninstalling ITunes and reinstalling and adding your music back will actually affect it but I tried it again. Started from scratch.
I checked the box for "Manually manage music and videos"
Then I moved my music to phone via drag and drop, usually just boxing a row of albums at a time.
I went back into my Iphone and began the sync. The message popped up, "1 Item could not be synced" and the sync stopped. At that point, I just clicked sync again and it started back up again. It took a few go's but eventually I got all my music on my phone.
Ironically enough, the only songs that wouldn't sync were songs that I had actually purchased from Itunes....kinda odd

Since installing IOS7.0.2 my iPad keeps rebooting itself every few minutes.  I can't do anything with it and cannot download the new IOS7.2 because it doesn't run long enough to accomplish the download.  What can I do?

    Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
     Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.
Here is a link to their contacts with most of the information below.

  • Why does Firefox log me out of websites every few minutes?

I'm having a problem where I'm getting logged out of websites automatically every few minutes. It doesn't matter what the website is (Facebook, email, forums etc.) once I've logged in, after a few minutes of browsing I'll be logged out again. I've tried re-installing Firefox and have cleared my cookies/cache multiple times but it's still happening. I've been using Firefox for years and this is the first time anything like this has happened so I guess that it might be related to the latest update. Does anyone have any ideas?

    What are the connection settings?
    *Tools > Options > Advanced > Network : Connection > Settings

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.
    See "Firefox connection settings":

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

  • I restored my iphone 4 to prepare it for sale and now it keeps rebooting itself every few minutes saying "Waiting for Activation". What's going on?!

I'm just trying to figure out if theres some other issue at play or if its normal for the phone to keep rebooting while searching for activation. I'd like to sell it this weekend but I don't want to sell a broken phone to someone. I researched this issue a bit online and only found a similar issue having to do with facetime/imessage but this seems to be different. I went through the necessary steps to fix the problem others were having, even though it didnt seem to be exactly the same as mine, but it is still happening. I will say that I got the iphone wet some time ago but it has worked fine since then so I'm assuming its not related. Perhaps the battery needs to be replaced? Any and all input or advice would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

I should mention it is ios 6.1.3. The phone has now also started, after rebooting, showing the signal bars next to the wifi signal icon at the top but no "Sprint" type next to the bars as usual. And then after a few minutes it shuts down, shows the black screen with the white apple in the middle for a few moments, comes back up with the Waiting for Activation message, the signal bars pop up and the whole cycle just repeats itself.

Here's suggestions for both Airport Express and your Network settings:
    Airport Express:
Your Intel machine has an Airport Extreme card. Not sure about your G4 machines. To determine if they do, click on the Apple Menu for each machine (Apple Logo in the upper left of your screen) and select "about this Mac". Select "more info". When the Apple Profiler opens, select Airport Card on the left. If the description says "Airport Extreme", the following suggestion applies.
For each machine -first, open AirPort Admin Utility.app in your Utilities folder.
Double click your Airport Unit (if it doesn't appear in the list, select "rescan"). Once the panel opens, select the "Airport panel". Down the bottom, in the 'mode' drop down menu, change the setting to 802.11g only. If you do not have an Airport Extreme card, change the setting to 802.11b only.
Also, click on the Internet panel. Mine looks like this:
In the Airport panel, click on base station options:
    My panel looks like this:
    Make changes as necessary.
When you are complete, select "update". Your Airport unit will reset. Wait for the green light to appear.
If still having a problem with your internet connection on any of the machines, these two suggestions from MacFixit may help:
Disable Remote configuration - If you are experiencing inordinately slow transfer speeds through your AirPort Base station though a strong signal exists, you may want to try this workaround which involves disabling remote configuration on AirPort Base Stations upgraded with the firmware included in the AirPort 4.2 updater package -- resulting in the removal of a potential speed bottleneck introduced with the new firmware.
This workaround is accomplished via the following process:
Open the AirPort Admin Utility (located in Applications/Utilities)
Select the desired Base Station from the availability list
Go to the "Base Station Options" tab
    Click on "WAN Ethernet Port"
Uncheck the box next to "Enable Remote Configuration."
Save your AirPort Base Station settings
Sometimes, a simple hard reset can help: Hard Resets of Airport Express
    Network connection suggestions:
Network Panel - these suggestions seems to help:
Go to the System Preferences>Network panel
    - Location - set up a personal location by clicking on the drop down menu and selecting "add a location". Use a name familiar to you. Once established, select "apply".
    - Next, click on the "Show" drop down menu and select Network Port Configurations. Only Airport ought to be checked, unless you are using a Bluetooth device. Move Airport to the top of the list (you can drag it). Select "apply".
    - Back to the "Show" menu, select "Airport". Click on the TCP panel. There, enter 208.67.222.222 and
208.67.220.220 (separate lines) in the DNS servers box and select "apply". Note: If you use Verizon, best code to use is 4.2.2.2. Also, some other Internet Providers have their own specific codes, such as Comcast. If in doubt, check with your Internet Provider.
Creating a personal location, plus adding the DNS codes seems to speed things up. Otherwise, the "automatic" function has a tendency to "search" for available locations creating lag.
Lastly, in the Finder for each machine, go to your Utilities folder and select "Terminal". Once the screen is open enter lookupd -flushcache (copy/paste this) and press return. This clears out the DNS cache. Once done, quit Terminal.
Post back and let me know how this worked out.

  • My printer keeps going off line with my network. have to set everything up every few minutes.

After getting my HP photosmart 5510 all in one printer setup on my wireless network and setup for eprint, 2 problems occurred.  The printer keeps jumping off of the network, and I have to set everything back up again.  Also, even with eprint still completely set up, none of the emails that I send are printing out???
    Please Help

For those who are experiencing ongoing issues with their web services, you can attempt to try the following steps that may help resolve your problems.
1.)    Completely shut down your printer and restart it
2.)    If you have prints that have not printed, log into ePrint Center (or create an account if you do not have one) and then look for your printer status. If printer status is green but you still have pending jobs, delete the pending jobs one at a time (Starting with the oldest first). There may be a print job stuck in the queue that further restricts other jobs from completing.
If option 1 or 2 above still doesn’t work, removing web services and re-adding web services will cause the printer to reattach to the cloud.
Please note that if you attempt option 3, you will get a new eprint email address (and lose your custom one with no ability to get it back) furthermore, you will need to re-add your printer back to your ePC account.

  • Why does my Mozilla Firefox 6.02 hang every few minutes. Its has been going on for years. "Not Responding" you can close and reopen and its fine, or wait 30 seconds and it goes back to normal, others like MSN, Opera, Chrome not having this problem.

Oh and before I get disable your add ons, update and any other Generic crap. I did. ALL of that. Deleted Firefox completely then reinstalled it. Still the same error, my laptop in my office no problems my desktop "Not responding" wow.

Switched to chrome on that computer. Seems to be the only solution that works. Mozilla, I know you are a good browser, I have sung your praises for years. But if you need to do all that technical stuff to get it to stop. Its really easier just to download another browser. Sorry. If you get your glitched corrected, I would be happy to come back. But I'm sorry I don't have that much time to waste.

  • "hey there do you want to backup your bookmarks " keeps popping up every few minutes it`s really annoying can someone help please?

It is a grey box popup that stops whatever I am doing, even if a click yes on it,it does it again on another page,it is a persistent problem, any help will be really appreciated
    thank you
    Adrian

    I think I solved it.
I searched my extensions folder (in my profile) for all image files (PNG and JPG), and found the pop-up images to be in an extension folder related to Firefox Sync (not an external extension, actually). But even though I had already disabled it and un-linked this computer from Firefox Sync, the message still popped-up.
I think the image filename was SYNC.PNG, or something like that. Close Firefox, find the folder where that image is in, and rename the main folder (the one right under the extensions folder) to some other name (such as "original name_copy"). Then start Firefox. Check if it works OK and if the pop-up ceases to appear. If everything OK, then you can delete that folder.
If something goes wrong, just rename the folder to what it was before.

StartupItems can slow your Mac down.
Go to HD > Library > StartuItems
    Remove this:  ChmodBPF
    Restart your Mac.
If it's still slow, open System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login items
Remove Google Drive.  (iTunes Helper should not be a problem)
    Restart your Mac.

  • Why do I have to keep installing adobe flash on my mac

why do I have to keep installing adobe flash on my mac?

You can check here what version of Flash player you actually have installed:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
After installing, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’. If you are running 10.6.8 or later:
When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser, but check this also:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5655?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US  which also covers ‘blocked plug-in’.

  • Why do I have to keep activating hbogo on apple tv?

Why do I have to keep activating hbogo on apple tv?
It's constant.  Maybe three to four times a week.
    ENOUGH already.

haha nevermind HBOgo. Since we know you are able to activate it then we know the verizon username and password is correct and that HBO recognizes it as legit. Why it keeps asking for it might be a glitch with HBOgo app or their server or it might have to do with the apple TV not saving your login info, so HBO keeps asking for it each time you go there. Kind of hard to nail down since it involves an Apple product, HBO, and Fios TV all working together. Not sure who is to blame at this point. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem with Apple TV's. Are you able to access HBO from your verizon set top box?
