Why do you keep changing my customized settings?

When I make customized preferences to the Firefox Browser, you keep changing it to what you want instead of keeping the browser look to what I have selected. Why? I even went by the steps that you have provided on your website; but, you still keep changing it to what you want. I don't appreciate it. Thanks.

    Don't get me wrong, iTunes is great but WHY DO YOU CONSTANTLY MOVE AND CHANGE EVERYTHING FOR NO REAL BENEFIT WITH EACH UPDATE?

  • Verizon, why do you keep changing my phone service?

    When I first signed up with Verizon (couple of years ago,) I had the very basic phone service. It was all I needed, since I use my cell phone as my primary. I didn't, and still don't need a landline. I don't even have a phone hooked up to my phone line, since I don't use it. I know I technically have to have service in order to get DSL, which I'm fine with.
    However, this is the second time Verizon has upgraded my phone service without my permission. The first time was when I moved apartments about 8 months ago. When I moved my service got downgraded to the 1mbps speed. After a while I managed to get it back to what it was before, which was the 7.1-15mbps service. However, my basic phone service somehow got upgraded in the process, so I was then paying ~$20 more per month. I talked to someone at Verizon, and they told me they'd fix it, and I'd get a credit for the change, but that never happened.
    Fast forward to this month, and I see my bill has gone up, from $79 to $140! It seems I somehow got put on the Freedom Essentials plan. A few weeks ago I got a call from a woman at Verizon in regards to a service issue they had recently addressed. She told me she was reviewing my file/case, and noticed it'd be cheaper for me to bundle my phone and DSL. She said it wouldn't be very much, but I'd save ~$7 a month. I told her I'd be fine with changing it as long as it was cheaper, but had no interest in paying for the higher tier service, since I don't even use my landline.
    So now I have to waste more of my time talking to Verizon to get them to fix their mistake, and I'm still out several hundred dollars as a result.
    Verizon, when your service works, it works great, and I love it. When it doesn't, it's a trainwreck, and lately, it's all been a trainwreck.
    Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with this?

    I should mention that I tried to change my service back to the lowest tier by using the "Add/Change Services" page, but that page has NEVER worked for me. It only ever lists the services I have, not ones I can switch to. I've always had to call or chat with Verizon in order to upgrade my services.

Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you.Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
    Under “My Support Cases” you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe".

    You can't change that address by design, but Apple allows you to create another two addresses and use instead they call those aliases and you can create and use those different for different people with the same account. Instructions here

  • Why do you keep alienating your user base with worthless UI changes?

    If it weren't for some add-ons that I've come to depend upon which are not supported in Chrome, I'd have switched long ago. But version 29 is the last straw. If I can't get version 28 re-installed and working again, I'm quitting FireFox for good.
    You claim that FireFox is so damned customizeable that it's easy to revert to the v. 28 UI, but that's simply not true. First of all, it requires an add-on which breaks other functionality. Second, that add-on doesn't restore everything. And Third, there were about:config setting that did fix some of these things (e.g. browser.tabs.onTop) but you've broken/removed those settings in v. 29.
    Why not simply make all of these things configurable in about:config, like browser.tabs.onTop? What's the point of forcing us to use an add-on, where we're dependent on a third-party developer who clearly didn't get it quite right because he's broken other things? Indeed, the support page even says that the only way to get TabMixPlus to work is to revert to the stupid curved tabs - I can't have square tabs and TabMixPlus, so right there it's impossible for this add-on to restore everything the way it was.
    You've broken FireFox for the last time, and as I said if I can't get v. 28 back I'm quitting you for good. I've already abandoned you on Android because you can't seem to make that work - it crashes all the time on both my phone and my tablet - and you're ruining what once was the premier browser.
    So, again, my question is: Why do you idiots keep alienating your user base with worthless UI changes? I believe that you developers are making changes for change sake, and you're so close to them you think everyone will think your crap UI "improvements" smells like roses. Well, they don't - they stink. If FireFox is so damned customizable, and you think your ideas are so fantastic, why not show people how to configure FireFox the way you prefer, rather than force the changes on everyone and tell us who don't like it to figure out how to put it back on our own. And if FF 28 wasn't flexible enough to get the look and feel you prefer with simple settings changes then you should have worked on making those changes possible, not worked on hard-coding them so nobody can change them.
    More importantly, perhaps you should concentrate on fixing bugs, instead. You should not have released v.2 until you'd addressed all bugs from v.1. BugZilla documents a history of bugs carrying over year after year. That is unprofessional. You still have memory leaks after all these years, forcing me to re-start FireFox on a regular basis - that is simply irresponsible. Yes, you've addressed them. Yes, you've made things better by not loading pages after a re-start until we click on that tab. But those are bandaids - you haven't fixed the actual memory leaks! To claim we must accept your willy-nilly UI changes to get security enhancements is ludicrous in the face of these memory leaks.

    If you're on a 64bit OS I highly recommend waterfox. If not you can have a look at cyberfox and palemoon. All of those are built on firefox but are ignoring the terrible gui changes.

  • Why does firefox keep changing things up with new versions?

    It really bothers me that Firefox keeps changing things, namely the user interface with new versions. They move buttons around like the back / forward, and refresh button. If I don't have the latest version I get prompted to download it each time I open my web browser. Now with this latest update I got a good inch and a half at the top of my screen that should be gray but is transparent and shows my desktop background. Also, I like to right click and 'open link in new' tab a lot, I thought it used to be 'open link in new window' first than 'open link in new tab' second. They switched them around now I'm opening new windows instead of tabs from clicking the second option by habit. Its not that big of a deal but why keep changing it up when I'm comfortable with what I know.

  • Why does iCal keep changing to colour of one of my calendars?

    For some reason, every time I open my iCal the colour of my "work" calendar is changed from Green to pink(one of the create your own colours). I keep changing it back to green and it keeps going back to pink. I am incredibly frustrated.

    Kind of got a fix for this or at least it seems to have worked for me. *Knock on Wood*. It will take some time and patience.
    I right clicked on my "Work" calendar and exported it to the desktop. Then imported it as a new calendar under a different name "0 - Work". (It may import it as "Work 2")
    Now you have your original "Work" calendar, in the annoying pink colour, and a new "0 - Work" calendar.
    Change the colour of this new calendar to whatever you like. Delete the original "Work" calendar and then wait about 10 minutes. This seems to allow the iCloud and whatever else to finish its "Updating".
    Then rename "0 - Work" to just "Work". Again wait about 10 minutes. It's best not to sit there and watch as the updating processes will sometimes change it back to pink or bring back the original "Work" calendar before finally settling on your new changes.
    In the end, or at least for me, things are back to normal. I have left it open for about a half hour, turned it on and off and no pink has reemerged.

    To prevent exposing http header information, we modified $IAS_ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/config/custom.conf file, and would like to keep the changes from being overwritten by autoconfig. We changed in template $FND_TOP/admin/template/custom/custom_conf_1013.tmp, and run Autoconfig.
    After, we see all the files in $INST_TOP/ora/10.1.3/Apache/Apache/conf directory were updated, except for the custom.conf file. Can anyone tell us what we may have missed? Would like our manual changes to be there.

    My calendar keeps randomly changing dates and times when using icloud and it is doing my head in.
    Is there a simple way of rectifying this or do I have to get rid of icloud altogether (to save my sanity?)

    If this is an iCloud calendar, you might want to check your time zone and time zone support settings.  Go to icloud.com, sign into your iCloud account, click your name at the top and choose Account Settings, click Time Zone and be sure it shows the correct time zone and that you have selected a city near you.  Then open your calendar on icloud.com, click the gear-shaped icon on the bottom left and choose Preferences, click the Advanced tab and make sure you have not checked time zone support at the top.
    On your iOS devices, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Time Zone Support (in the Calendars section) and make sure this is set to Off.

  • Why must I keep changing my password?

    For several months, I would receive a dialogue box when opening iTunes on my Mac. The box is asking for my appleID and password, which are being auto-filled but my password had been entered incorrectly. I'd have to enter my password and it would be fine. The night that I downloaded ios7 and iTunes 11.1, the auto-filled dialogue box apeard again and I had to change my password because it "had been entered incorrectly." Tonight, I opened iTunes on my Mac and the same dialoge box appeard. I entered the new passowrd from Septemer 18th, and I was again forced to change. Now I'll have to change the password on EVERY APPLE DEVICE AGAIN! Why is this happening? What can I do to make it stop? I don't want to be made afraid to open iTunes on my Mac for fear that I'll have to change my password over and over.
    (I suspected perhaps there was a settings on my iTunes that caused it to always ask for my appleID and password, and that my Mac was auto-filling it incorreclty. But I can't seem to find a preference or a setting that appears as if it would cause that.)

  • Why I can't change my location settings?

    Since the 1st time i update my iphone3 to OS4, i can't manually change the location setting to on/off but the setting was tuned to ON by default. So there's nothing much i worry about.   • Why does Apple keep changing the interface in iTunes?!

    I liked the interface in iTunes 10, but found that I liked the interface in iTunes 11 even better. It seemed that everything was organized a little better. But... now we are back to an interface like we had in iTunes 10.     There are two messages you might see. The one you allude to, "will not work with iPhone" is merely a warning that the accessory is not shielded against the electronic emissions of the iPhone, i.e. you may get a little static on the audio. You can ignore that error and use the accessory. The other error is a "will not charge" and that's because the iPhone 3G no longer draws power from the FireWire pins in the dock connector. Apple has been phasing out FW support - the ability to sync via FW was dropeed a couple of years ago. 3rd party manufacturers have known about this for some time, but seemingly chose to maximize profit by not changing their design (especially for car chargers, since the power input is 12 V, which FW can handle, but for USB the voltage must be stepped down to 5 V). There are dongles available to drop the voltage and move the power to the correct pins.
