Why does a saved file open in new Safari tab?

I Safari v.7.1.5 (9537.85.14.17), a file that is supposed to be saved to the Downloads folder in the .csv format opens in a new Safari tab instead. I therefore cannot save it in the .csv format. Is there any way to avoid this problem? Thank you.

Right click the pdf file and click on Properties. In the General tab click the Change button and associate the Adobe Reader 8 program to the pdf file. Click Ok, then Apply.
I assume the connection to this forum is that the pdf file is a Lighroom generated slideshow.

  • Why doesn't flash player stay installed and why does the saved file disappear.

Why doesn't flash player stay installed and why does the saved file disappear.  I have downloaded and installed flash player several times on my Win7 Vaio laptop. I have uninstalled and deleted all versions.  I am the administrator and I have also turned off my Security Software, but the same thing keeps happening over and over.  The Java Script is enabled and I have tried both downloading via IE and firefox.  It is rediculous that it keeps disappearing and I keep getting messages that the newest version is needed.  I am downloading directly from adobe and they say it is the latest.  Getting very frustrated.  They ask if we have any problems when we go to the finish line, but there is no place for comments.  I guess they don't really care if it works or not.

So is it actually installed, or is it not?  If not, download and run the offline installers:
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
If it still does not work correctly, check

In Firefox also check if the Shockwave Flash plugin is enabled.

  • Why does pages 09 keep opening a new mail message

I'm using pages 09 now (was using 08; tried the new 5.0 but it is useless based on backward compatability)
When I click on a name in a document it immediately opens a new email message with To as the contact  I clicked on. I've tried turning off all the auto complete, etc I can find but it still happens.
    Specifically,
if I go to the footer, the next time I land on a name in the body of the document it opens up a new email.
Once I close the mail message I can continue typing, editing etc.; but the moment I go to the footer and then return to the text box it jumps to a new mail message when I click on a name.
How do I turn this off?
    George O.

More on this and a correction-
there is a part of this document outined in blue- whenever I go into this part from the footer it initiates an email to me;  it doesn't matter where I click. My earlier question said when I click on a name this happens; but actually anywhere in the outlined area.
some of the document does not have thin blue outlines; when I go there I'm ok- no new email.
so, what are the blue lines about?
and why does it send me an email when I move into the outlined area?
    thanks for any help !

  • Why does clicking a link open a new window with a spam site on it?

Happens randomly I will click a link that I want open on new tab it opens but a random site will open in a new window. These sites that open are spam sites that I do not want. I have uninstalled deleted firefox and reinstalled it nothing is fixing this issue. My other computer has the same problem. Does not happen all the time its just random sometime i dont even have to click a link and a new window will open with dating sites poker sites just crap I did not want opened.

    Recomend getting adblock for firefox.
if you still get unrelated links you should consider scanning for Malware on you computer (this could be an installed program or an extension). I would recommend Malwarebytes as it is somewhat free to use.

  • Why does my lightbox keep opening a new window?

I'm currently finishing off my website and all I need to do that is make four images click into their own seperate light boxes.
I number of my code savy friends cannot find anything wrong with my code.
The problem is that when I click on the image online it opens a new window and to get back to the orginal page you have to go 'back'
this clearly isn't what a lightbox should do, is there something in my code which is wrong and making it do this? Or can I add something.
The 4 divs involved in this are named Rochelle, Jacob, Jared and Helena.

    Here's what I've changed:
Added '<div id="gallery">' to your code before the lightbox gallery. If you read the Lines 9-13 of your HTML, your lightbox definition says that any 'a' links inside 'gallery' container will be lightbox enabled. In your actual gallery code, 'gallery' div was not present. Hence, Lightbox did not find any image links to load. Now, I've added the Div ID as Gallery. It works.
    Hope it helps.

  • Why does the "Home" button open another set of tabs ontop of my existing?

when I use an existing tab to go to another web site and then want to return to my original tabs I hit the home button and instead of reloading all my home screen tabs it opens another set of tabs along with the ones that are currently up. IE ,I have -5- tabs that open on start up. If I hit the home key I will then have -10- whci are duplicates of the one that are up. In IE the home key just takes me back to the tabs that open on start up. Do I have something set wrong?? I am a new user of Firefox. Thanks!!

When you hit the Home button the active tab is reloaded with the first of your homepages and the other 4 homepages will open in new tabs; IE does that differently. Sorry, there is no setting in Firefox to change that action. There might be an add-on available to change that action, but I can't point you to it as I am comfortable with the current way Firefox does that (but then again I only have 2 homepages).

  • Why does my pdf file open in 'windows picture and fax viewer'?

Anytime someone sends me a pdf file, when I click 'open', it automatically opens up my 'windows picture and fax viewer' and of course, I get nothing. So, in order to read a pdf file, I must first save it, then go into my Adobe Reader, and open it from there. Can anyone tell me how to change that? It's only happened since I upgraded Adobe Reader to 8.0. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks

Right click the pdf file and click on Properties. In the General tab click the Change button and associate the Adobe Reader 8 program to the pdf file. Click Ok, then Apply.
I assume the connection to this forum is that the pdf file is a Lighroom generated slideshow.

  • Why does Photoshop Elements 11 open a file in a lower resolution than I saved it in?

Why does Photoshop Elements 11 open files in a lower resolution than I saved them?

The only meaningful figures for 'resolution' with a digital image are the pixel dimensions. They are not changed by saving.
The ppi (pixel per inch) information is not a property of the image, just like the dimensions of your prints : it's your choice when you want do display or print your images. The detail level of your image is dependent on the pixel size.

Help. Photoshop CC14 on Mac 5k (2014) running Yosemite 10.10.1. Photoshop stops responding when I'm opening files, saving files or creating new ones. Is anyone suffering the same problem? Does anyone have an answer?

First, go install the MacOS 10.10 updates - you should be on 10.10.2.
I haven't heard of Photoshop not responding during opens and saves.  Does it stop responding while the open/save dialogs are visible, or while Photoshop is actually reading or writing files?
10.10.1 did fix a crash in the open/save dialogs, but 10.10.2 still has some odd issues (mostly program errors coming from the OS code) in the open/save dialogs.

  • Why does FF save files to desktop, when I have "downloads" checked in options? This is a new issue with the latest version 3.6.3 Windows XP Thanks.

Why does FF save files to desktop, when I have "downloads" checked in options? This is a new issue with the latest version 3.6.3 . Using Windows XP Driving me nuttier! Thanks.
(Is is that MicroNetFrame Asst thing?)
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== When I installed latest version

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate your help.
It was just a hunch that MircoNetFrame was causing the problem. I disabled it as you suggested, and I still have the problem.
I just changed under Tools>Options> General - had checked "ask me every time" under downloads, so instead of asking me, FF saved the download to I know not where. It no longer saves it to the desktop, leaving a duplicate in "my documents".
In windows, I have found unless one knows the entire name of the document, one can never find anything. It isn't listed under recent ''''''__. I can't recall the nomenclature, but the
capability is ridiculous. So, I don't know where that file I just downloaded is!
I downloaded a PDF file, but this happens with all DL's. It was so easy to have them all stacked in one place and I could recall
what I had and when I downloaded it easily.
Do you have any other suggestions other that going back to the old version of FF, which I would rather not do?
Thanks again for your time, it is very considerate to help a complete stranger, I must say. Sounds like something I might do! Cheers!

  • Why does IE crash when opening a pdf file ?

Why does IE crash when opening a pdf file ?

I think this is done by the browser when it is saving a temporary file and there's already a file with that exact name in the temp folder.

  • Why does reader freeze while opening some pdf files and others open instantaneously?

I use pdf files created from CamScanner and shared from DropBox.  In DropBox, many times (over 50%) while opening the PDF the process freezes and the error message is Adobe Reader is not responding.  If you close the program, and re-open the file, it opens fine.  I have saved these files to my computer and the same issue occurs.  The files are 100-500kb, so I do not think size is the issue.  I have reinstalled Reader (11.1.10) and there is no improvement.

This appears to have reduced the time to load a document.  Thanks Jimb      From: Anubha Goel <[email protected]>

?  Why does my Photoshop PS2 open on my Mac Book Pro OS 10.6.8 Intel Core 2 Processor but not on my just purchased Mac Book Pro OS 10.7.3? On my new machine I get a message saying "You can't open Photoshop CS2 because Power PC applications are no longer supported". I don't have a Power PC on either machine and this App does run on the older machine with an Intel processor. benrusy

This is not new.  The fact that Mac OS no longer supports PowerPC applications starting with OS X Lion has been known for over a year now.  You'll need to upgrade to the latest version of Photoshop
