Why does certain warnings are causing dumps during Upgrade?

Hi  friends ,
During Upgrade , I made an EPC check .There I got synatx errors and warnings as well. I corrected all the syntax errors except one warning. But later the same warning caused a serious dump though it usually doesnot happen. So is it required to correct warnings resulted in EPC check ? If yes , is there any convenient way to monitor the warnings that cause suich dumps as the number of warnings exceeds  far more in  amount as compared to  syntax errors?

Hi,
I don't think warning might cause serious errors like errors.. Please check why you got the dump for the warning message...
You should avoid Errors...

Nagaraj

Why does useful features are limited to few adapters?
For eg : File receiver CC has a option to stop Empty messages from being processed.
This is not available in SOAP receiver.
Is it possible to have a standard adapter module in SOAP receiver CC that will achieve this?
    Regards,

Thats for SAP to answer i guess
Well initially there was no option in the File adapter to handle empty messages but as requirement grew and more and more customers/consultants were in need to handle such a functionality, SAP brought it in through a SP release
Maybe if this particular requirement of your finds popularity, then SAP might come up with a inbuilt solution

in you case why do you need to send the SOAP receiver a empty message??
If you need to handle it then the best is to do some workaround in the mapping and have a field in your target structure indicate that it is a empty message (something like a flag) and then do the routing logic based on this flag.

  • Why does Printing a document cause it to be changed?

When I do page setup, etc, then SAVE the document, and then PRINT the document, the "Changed Bit" in the close box of the document is set, and I cannot just close the document.
Why does Printing change the document?
How can I avoid this. (If I save the document, then Print, I do NOT want any further changes)

    Bill,
Complaints about actual program misbehavior or outright bugs need to get reported directly to Adobe. This is a users to users forum and while Adobe personnel occasionally show up here (much, much less seldom now than in years past) it is extremely unlikely that they will see or take any action on such reports here. (Although there WAS a recent appearance by an Adobe engineer who independently jumped on an issue that certainly did seem to be a bug).
The kind of thing you've described is annoying and should not happen (yes, lazy programming) but it's interesting sometimes when the explanation for such things reveals intent (rather than ignorance of the apparent defect) in order to solve another problem.
Want REAL annoyance? How about programs that insist on saving (when closing) simply because the file has been opened! That's very common on Windows. Really, really irritating.
But this thread has gone beyond any usefulness regarding your observation of a very tiny pimple on a major gem of engineering. And you've locked horns with one of the major irritants on this forum. If you persist, the 2 of you will just appear to be 2 brats squabbling in a mud hole. He likes that. Do you?
You seem like a nice guy (so far). But it also seems like you like fighting (from this and another thread). It would be interesting to hear more from you. My unsolicited advice? Move on. He will not back down from his childish behavior which is an irritant and embarrassment here to many people. Most of whom simply ignore him and don't stick their necks out like I'm doing now.
He's shamelessly overindulged by the forum moderator who, with all due respect, seems to possess good judgment in most areas save his handling of certain very caustic and inappropriate "members." here. (Sorry Neil)
Ramon is knowledgeable, but confuses the strange protection afforded by a keyboard hitched to the Internet as macho proof of bravado and fearlessness. (He's never "met" anyone who can make him stop posting anything he wants to. Isn't that special?)
On this forum he is not a gentleman. (who knows what he's like in real life? I'll bet he's very different!) Are you a gentleman? Regarding your complaint that you've been insulted, duly noted. I believe most here are on your side. Persist with this for even one more post and you'll have lost your standing. Let it go, COMPLETELY! Start a new thread about something interesting.
    Welcome to the fray.

  • Why does my Ipod keep freezing up during playback,

Why does my Ipod 3 keep freezing up? I have reset it as discribed in the online help 4 different times and it still freezes.
I at first thought it was due to the song was an MP3 but it has since froze on ACC and CDA audio. This would tell me it isn't the format that is causing it to freeze.

By a reset do you mean an actual hard reset of the device or a restore of it in iTunes?  If it was the former, try a restore of the device in iTunes.  If it was the latter, your iPod likely needs servicing.

  • Why does SAVING a project cause a delay/freeze in Premiere Pro CC?

EASY steps to re-create the issue:
    1) Enable GPU Accleration in your Project Settings.
    2) Create TWO sequences and add a bunch of clips to your timeline in EACH sequence.
    3) Apply an effect like "Warp Stabilizer" to all those clips (or, if you have like 30 short clips add it to say half of them) on each of the two sequences.
    4) Wait for the effect to finish working/stabilizing and you'll notice the render bar where the effect was added gradually turns from RED back to YELLOW for smooth playback.
    5) You can now toggle back and forth between the two sequences easily and play, edit, etc. All is well at this point...
    6) BUT!!!!...once you save the project (or if the project AUTO-SAVES) then now when you toggle back to the other sequence the render bar has returned to RED and you have to WAIT for it to turn YELLOW again which sometimes can take anywhere from a several seconds to 1/2 a minute or even more (depending on how many effects (warp stabilizers in my case) you've added). During this delay, you cannot work or even play the video on BOTH timelines. Once it switches back to YELLOW you can work like normal...until it's saved again.
NOTE#1: If you toggle OFF GPU Acceleration for the project and set it to "Software ONLY" then this issue/delay does NOT occur.
NOTE #2: Another pain is that to save the project above takes upwards of 45 seconds!!!! When I turn off GPU Accleration, saving takes only up to a few seconds. Imagine have to stop work and wait 45 seconds every time your project auto-saves!
This delay above is a real pain when I have multiple sequences with effects and after every time I save the project (or after it's auto-saved) I have to initially sit and wait 30 seconds or more sometimes when I go between sequences.
Why does simply saving a project trigger this issue/delay?
Is this a bug that I should report?
I've tested this on 2 different Mac computers (2011 iMac w/ AMD6970M (1GB VRAM) GPU as well as the supported 2012 Macbook Pro with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650M GPU w/ 1GB VRAM) with the same results.

    Booo.
Well, thanks Ann for testing and confiming the issue on a PC as well.
    Bug report submitted.
    Bummer.

  • Why does my macbook pro lock up during shutdown

I have a 17" MBP, mid 2010, 2.53 ghz Intel Core i5, 8gb ram, 500gb drive, running Mountain Lion.  It will lock up during shutdown on certain occasions, but not always.  All programs quit, the screen goes gray, and the gray "spinner" sits there and rotates (not the spinning beach ball, but the gray spinner thing).  After experimenting with several different programs, the culprit seems to be Microsoft Word.  When I run Word, it locks up during shutdown.  When I don't, no lockup.  This has been consistent and occurs whether I shut down MS Word in advance or not.  I checked which processes are running when it does shutdown and when it doesn't and I've found the following processes which are running after starting and quitting Word, but are not running if I don't start Word:
    apsd
cfprefsd (2 occurrences according to screen shot)
    coreservicesd
    distnoted
    fontd
launchd (again 2 occurrences according to screen shot)
    lsboxd
    mDNSResponder
    netbiosd
    notifyd
    rpcsvchost
    UserEventAgent
    xpcd
Do any of these look suspicious?  Is anyone else having the same problem?

hold D on the start up for a hardware test and see what's going on

  • Why does certain PDF take longer to display?

I have two multi page (mainly containing drawings) pdf approx 80MB each.
File A, is a scanned file with approximately 60pages, whereas File B, is a published file from (I assume an CAD system) with approx 400pages.
In File A I can scroll and zoom very quickly and page rendering delays are almost zero. Whereas in File B scrolling to the next page takes 10s of seconds. My job requires me to "flick" through the drawings and zoom in and out very often and therefore making the use of Acrobat and PDF very difficult. These type of files are needing to be printed, which cause great delays at the printer.
Understanding why it happens may help in the next step of reprocessing of the PDF to increase the rendering speed.
    Thanks.

If the pages are scans, there is probably just a single image per page, so there's only a single object on that page. CAD drawing can have hundreds to many thousands of individual vector and text objects that need to be redrawn when the view changes, and this can take a lot of time.

  • Why does Premiere Elements 9 keep crashing during basic editing?

Recently purchased Premiere Elements 9 to do some reasonably simple editing combining videos and photographs. After about 2mins to 10mins of using the software it unexpectedly crashes for no apparent reason. I have only ever had 2 or 3 layers in the video and often when I go to view a preview (but not exclusive to this) it shuts down. Sometimes its when I am manipulating text or trying to add effects. I'm using a brand new iMac and the only other programmes I am running concurrently are Safari and Photoshop although I have tried it with no other programmes running and it still happens. I've added details below of the processor and graphics card I am running to see if there are clues there. I get an error report but its a bit large to paste here although if anyone wants to take a look it would be much appreciated!

Thank you for the clarification. Titles should not be an issue at all. You are correct, they are an intrensic part of PrE, and should cause no issues.
I think that Neale's link will be useful. A lot of that material should be X-platform, but you will see some that is Windows-specific, especially as PrE was not X-platform, until PrE 9, and some of the suggestions, while still applicable, were when the program was only on the PC. Also, I gathered up some of it, and have to admit that I am a Mac-illiterate.
Something is definitely wrong with your PrE 9.0, with your system, or with its setup. Steve Grisetti, our MOD here, uses PrE 9.0 on an iMac, that is not a powerhouse computer, and has had few issues. I'd like to hear his comments, as he is X-platform, and many of us are only PC-guys. It's not that we do not want to help, as we do, it's just that many of us do not know the ins-and-outs that might be specific to the Mac.
Now, aspects of performance, such as the nVidia, or ATI video drivers, updating QT and updating PrE are not platform-specific, and are places to look first.
Also, when PrE crashes, do you get any error messages? I can tell you where to look for OS errors and warnings on a PC, but am lost on the Mac. There has to be some process logging function in OSX, like Event Viewer in Windows. It basically logs every call to every service, program, or process, and monitors the response. When things do not go, as they should, a warning, or error message is written to Event Viewer. Some of those are just cryptic code, and meaningless to even a Windows engineer, but some will have real, useful data, and the best will have links to say the MS Web site, or maybe to a driver mfgr. with tips on what went wrong, and best of all, what to do about it. Unfortunately, I cannot even begin to tell you where to look on a Mac.
One other potential concern would be the amount of free space on your HDD's. PrE creates very large working files, and needs a lot of real estate, just to work. How much free space do you have on each of your HDD?
Sorry to just be thinking out loud here, and wish that I had some wonderful, and useful insight.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Why does my browser keeps causing my computer to get pinwhelled?

I don't know why it is happening but I will be using my laptop and hae multiple tabs open then I would go to do something else and instead of my browser just running in the background it will show up as not responding. Then when I try to force quit it, I wait two minues and nothing happens. This puts me in the postion of having to hold down thep ower button to turn off my computer. This even sometimes when im using the browser and in the middle of doing something.
I tried switching browser but to no avail, since the problem still presits.
Am I alone here? Can I possibly have too many files on my PC? Do I need to somehow defrgment my drive? or does anyone have any ideas?
    Thank you!

Start in Safe mode again and then click the option to '''Disable All Add-ons''' followed by "'''Makes Changes and restart'''",
Then it's simply a case of re-enabling them one-by-one until the problem recurs. Then you know it was the previous one which is causeing the problem.
The add-ons manager is accessible by clicking '''Tools '''| '''Add-ons '''| '''Extensions'''. Laborious I know but it's the only way of doing it.

  • Why does my Flash Player keep freezing during video play back?

I have the very lastest version for Windows 7 64bit OS and it keeps freezing during video play back.  The previous versions did not do this. I have to keep the cursor moving inside the video window to prevent the player freezing.  I have deslected HARDWARE ACCELERATION and it does not help.  Why is this happening and how do I correct this situation?

Right click ANY Flash content and choose "Setings".
Click the folder icon (center tab) and increase the storage to at least 10Mb.

  • Why does the letter "t" cause my apps to switch?

When typing in any application (HTML code in Dreamweaver, an email, a web address in Chrome, etc), when I type the letter "t" my application often times switches suddenly to another open app. But not all the time. Hasn't switched once as I type this.
This only started a few days ago and persists after a restart. What would cause this? And why doesn't it happen with every "t" that I type? I'm running Mavericks 10.9.1.

This is a known bug and Microsoft are working on a fix. They plan to fix this before Firefox 4 reaches release candidate phase.
A workaround is to change a preference in Firefox:
    # Type '''about:config''' into the location bar and press enter
    # Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    # Locate the preference '''html5.enable''' and double-click on it to change its value to '''false'''
If you do this, remember to set the preference back to true by double-clicking on it again when Firefox 4 release candidate is made available, the bug should be fixed by then.

  • Why does working with Stamps cause Acrobat Pro XI to crash on close

Although other people in my organization have been experiencing crashes several times a day with Acrobat Pro XI (usually from stamping PDFs and closing Acrobat), I've just started receiving crashes after working on custom Stamps. This hasn't happened before to me. What is so special about the stamps that might be causing these crashes?
Our users using Acrobat for scanning receive the crash message "Adobe Acrobat has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Charlie

Hi George - a few divisions have stamps with JavaScript to query user to enter a date and time document was stamped. Most of the users do not. Just a set of static signature and File stamps. The File stamps have fields that contain custom calculation scripts to always display the current date and time of stamping. This was never a problem in Acrobat 9 Pro, though. Some crashes have occured just scanning through Acrobat without touching the stamps. Thanks for the quick reply and would appreciate if you have any more I can look into.

  • Why does iMac 2007 keep going off during power up?

I've tried starting up several times, including in safe mode.  The bar gets about ¼ way along, then everything shuts off, again.
No idea where my original disc is, but the DVD player hadn't worked for a few weeks now either.
Not sure what to do.  A similar thing happened a few years ago when the screen would just go gray and freeze on start up, and the machine had to be sent away to be repaired.
    Any ideas or suggestions?

Managed to get it going agin by doing a restore from my backup. Had to do the <Command, R> during power on, and do it from there.  Hopefully it will be ok now.

  • Why does a flashing world globe appear during start-up process?

In recent months my MacBook Pro has decided not to start up in the usual way. Now, when I am starting up a blank white screen appears for 55 sec, then a flashing world globe appears for 65 sec before the Apple logo appears. The machine is ready to go after a further 75 sec. Does any one know why this flashing world globe has suddenly come into my life - never seen it before?

System Preferences>Startup Disk - Select your OS hard drive and lock the padlock.  Restart your computer.  Still seeing the flashing world globe?
BTW:  The flashing world globe is a network startup disk.
