Why does my image discover...?

i have a canvas in an applikation,i do my paintings with an image,BUT if i resize the window the image discovers!i could do a mouseMoved-eventlistener and repaint it but thats not a good way to do it!

Do you use the paint(Graphics g) method
(or paintComponent (Graphics g) if you are using swing)
to draw your image? You should be...
If you are than I don't know the answer, generally moving the window
calls the repaint method, unless you overload another paint method
somewhere and forget to paint children...

    Check a printable area of your printer.
    Make a (grey) rectangle that is larger than the paper size. Print it,
    you'll get a message that some cropping will occur, that's okay. Then take a
    ruler and measure the dimensions of the rectangle printed on the paper or
    the white borders around the printed rectangle.

    why does my image blink on and off when using selection tool

    This is due to the hardware acclerated drawing not working properly because your graphics hardware doesn't support it right. This is usually resolved by updating the graphics driver to the latest version. If this is not possible, turn off OpenGL in Preferences --> Performance.

    You have to set the keyframe interpolation to "linear".

  • Why Does Photo Image Resolution Get Downgraded In CS3?

    Hi,
    I admit from the outset that I am a Photoshop dunce, and try to run before I can walk. That said, I can get simple things done but cannot figuire out why this is happening or what to do.
    I am creating a CD box image in CS3 using a pre-created Action to make the box image that was obtained elsewhere. The problem is that when I bring in a very high quality photo (231KB), it downgrades in resolution. When it first comes in, it is gigantic and of high quality. However, when I resize it, it becomes of poor quality. I think I apply the transform when this happens?
    Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
    Asoka

    Thank you very much for your feedback and help.
    Actually, you're right about the image. I myself had a big question mark about the "high resolution image" when I went off to find the file size for this forum post, only to discover that it was less than even 1MB. Not exactly the highest resolution after all!
    I got it from iStockphoto, and it was the small version of the images that I chose, i.e. for web use primarily. But I found that I was able to do a product box, even a website banner, without any problem at all. Also, when I bring it into Photoshop, it seems to be a mile wide on a 32 inch monitor but still shows pretty high definition. That is why I thought it was high resolution.
    What I can't understand is that I created a product box with another Action with the same images and that came out just fine. It's when I try this CD box that the image quality seems to mysteriously downgrade.
    You can see the product box here:
    http://www.surgeyourtradingsuccess.com/surgebm/
    and as you see, the result is actually quite good (and these are the same images photos, i.e. under 1MB file size).
    However, when I do the CD case, this is what I get:
    http://www.surgeyourtradingsuccess.com/Case.htm
    You are correct that one should not really be working with Actions until one is experienced in the basic product. In my defense, I didn't create the Actions but rather bought them as part of a graphics product: in other words, they were pre-created so that all I have to do is add the appropriate photos, backgrounds and text and then hit the buttons. It worked fine for the product box graphic and also for this CD box graphic, EXCEPT that the latter result is low resolution.
    Any thoughts on what is happening?

  • Why does 'insert image' not work?

    If I use Insert Image, the image appears on the email, but is not sent to the recipient. Why?
    Whats the point of it if it appears to work but doesn't?

    <blockquote>The fact that WYSIWYG does not work sometimes is no reason to regard it as not sensible to try and achieve. </blockquote>
    Never is more the point. It never works on the internet, every browser and mail client renders fonts and forms and images differently. That is why most web sites use the browser string to choose which version of the site to offer up.
    Change printers in a word processor and see WYSIWG change. Field questions from users who have suddenly manager to get their document on a 30 degree slant because their document formatting resembles a typewriter.
    <blockquote>If what you see on the screen is completely different from what you send, how are you supposed to make quality judgements? </blockquote>
    People writing computer programs and HTML have been doing it ever since there have been computers. Imagination and knowledge of the rendering capabilities to the expected client give some level of confidence. and KISS applies. The less complex the less likely it is to go spectacularly wrong
    <blockquote>Having a link to a persons computer from another computer is an invitation to hackers. </blockquote>
    That is what every address on the internet is, a link from one computer to another. Usually, your computer to someone elses. It is also why windows supports UNC names for files.
    <blockquote>Why would you do that?</blockquote
    Perhaps so content can be created once and use repeatedly without having to copy the data and perhaps corrupt it in the process. It also allows for content to be changed after the fact, so you can do a countdown due in X days
    <blockquote>
    Also,it still doesn't work. I tried sending myself an email, </blockquote>
    Did you get the email, many providers just don't deliver mail to yourself anymore.
    <blockquote>
    and it should have referenced the file on my computer, but it didn't.
    </blockquote>
    What did the HTML img tag actually contain?
    <blockquote>
    The concept of sending half a document, and referencing the rest of the document from a computer somewhere on the Internet (which might be off), absolutely stupid from many points of view.</blockquote>
    Depends, remote images in email are a perfect example of it. Many of today's emails would not be sent due to their size if the images were not remote, and how to marketers get to know who you are unless there are remote images so they can track you.
    In a corporate environment there are places where you would be sacked for actually attaching documents to an email. A link to them on the server maintains the companies control of their intellectual property. Placing it in an email obviates all of that.
    So get used to the fact that email is not WYSIWYG. It does not even use the same fonts you do, unless by happen-chance the recipient also has the same ones.
    What does the message source say about the IMG tag for the image.
    <preformat>
    ><img alt="" src="file:///C:/Users/Matt/Desktop/CSV%20how%20to/more%20images/blinkers.png" height="315" width="392">
    </preformat>
    It will look something like this for a local link with moz-do-not-send="true" set if I specify not to include the image with the message.
    <blockquote>If Thunderbird has some inherent problem with incorporating image files into a document, then it should not allow it as an option. </blockquote>
    I am afraid is simply do not understand that statement at all. You are the only person I have ever encountered that could not include an image in their email.
    <blockquote>One thing that most Windows software now allows is transferring files between formats, </blockquote>
    How come I can not get mail out of outlook in a usable format? Are BMP, JPEG and PNG images interchangeable?
    I previously asked <blockquote>So what format is this image? (What file type) How large is it? What anti virus program do you use?</blockquote>

  • Why does Raw image open in PSE 11 Editor as jpeg instead of as RAW image?

    For several years I have been managing my photos in iphoto and using PSE as an external editor for editing images. I currently use PSE 11 on an iMac with OS X Lion (version 10.7.5). My iPhoto Library is divided into a number of sub-libraries via iPhoto Library Manager. I have unexpectedly encountered a problem attempting to edit a RAW image (in this case a .NEF image from a Nikon D200) in a sub-library containing images shot in 2007. When I right click on the image and select Edit in External Editor the image opens in PSE 11 Editor, but it opens as a jpeg and not as an .NEF image. This is in spite of the fact that in iPhoto/Preferences/Advanced/RAW Photos I have checked "Use RAW when using external editor."
    As an alternative approach I tried dragging and dropping the RAW image into the PSE 11 Editor icon in the Dock, but I got the same result.
    I can't recall having this problem previously and would appreciate knowing what might be the source of the problem along with a suggested fix.

    I took a clue from both of your responses. I exported a copy of the original RAW file to my desktop. Then I went to PSE Editor and clicked File/Open and selected the RAW file on the desktop. This automatically changed the Format setting to Camera Raw. I then clicked Open and lo and behold my RAW file opens in Camera Raw!
    I’m now where I want to be to edit this image in Camera RAW, but I never before had to go around the horn like this to get there! This is very similar to the procedure I follow when I edit jpegs in Camera Raw.
    I’m happy to report that this workaround did the job, but I have no idea why it was necessary in this instance. Hopefully this issue will be confined to this one particular iPhoto sub-library!

  • Why does my image get clipped at the right margin?

    Using Pages 5.2 and Preview 7.0 with my iMac running OS 10.9.3, my brochure has an image that gets clipped at the right margin using Pages, but not with Preview (when I print a pdf of the same file). I'm using an HP Deskjet 6980 printer.  Both Pages and Preview are set for borderless 8.5 x 11, in landscape orientation, and the "thumbnail" shown in the printer dialog window is correct for both.  Preview does print the full image but ignores the "fast draft" settings and takes forever to print the page.  Pages is fast, but clips the image by about 7/16" at the right margin (trailing side of the printed page).  I need to print about sixty 2-sided sheets, so can't stand the slowness from Preview.  Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

    If you had Pages ’09 v4.3 installed prior to Pages v5+, test if the image clipping issue occurs with the earlier Pages application. Export your current Pages v5+ work as Pages ’09 first, and explicitly open that document with the earlier Pages. Double-clicking will use Pages v5+ if both are installed.

  • Why does an image inserted goes outside the html structure

    I used the image insert command to place an image on my page in design view but when I looked at the image in code view, it was below the html structure. Yet when I move it in code view into the body section it disappears in design view. Any suggestion of what I'm doing wrong. This never happened before. No matter how many times I inserted the image it still places below the the closing html tag. The  extension is png.

    I suggest change your code manually by going into code view so that it looks like this:
    <body>
    <img src="/letters/letters.png" width="504" height="360" alt="towers" />
    </body>

  • HELP, why does saved image look too sharp when re-opened in Photoshop but normal in Windows viewer?

    Been using Photoshop Elements 7 for several years and this has never happened before!  I applied sharpening to an image and saved two copies: PSD and JPEG.  When I re-opened the PSD file it looked WAY over-sharpened.  In Photoshop Editor I then opened the JPEG and it too looked way over-sharpened.  But the strange thing is that when I view the JPEG in the Windows Photo Viewer it looks normal!  Just as it did when I originally saved it.   I decided to try an experiment.  I opened the PSD file that now appears overly sharpened and saved a new JPEG.  I then opened the new JPEG in Windows Photo Viewer -- and it looks normal, even though it was saved from the PSD file that looks over-sharp!  I then opened the same, newly saved JPEG in Photoshop -- and it now looks oversharp and distorted, just like the PSD file.  Can anyone tell me what is going on here?  I'm completely confused!  Hope someone can help me figure this out.  Thanks!

    The over sharpening may have caused a color shift.
    You might have better luck using the adjust sharpness command. Enhance<Adjust Sharpness.

  • Why does my image disappear when I click on it to enlarge?

    I am using iPhoto '11, version 9.4.3  When I click on a single photo from an event to see and enlarge it, the image disappears, and what I see is a  black screen with a large triangle and an exclamation point inside the triangle.  What does this mean? I don't think the photo is actually disappeared because I can still see it in the smaller size.

    Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
    1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
    2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
    Fix #2
    Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
    1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
    2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
    3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
    4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    5 - Click on the Create button.
    Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Why does one image not appear in an email?

    In an email with 5 images only one of them is replaced by a box with a small icon of a page in the center instead of an image and I cannot figure out why this image is being blocked/not appearing. When I right-click on the image and select "Inspect Element" I get Adblock Plus references that say "Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)" and "Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden)". Is it possible that the image is no longer available from the sender of the email? Thanks for any help you may offer.

    Sound like the actual image was not in the email, but a link to the image was. When you tried to retrieve the image, the server it di not respond.

  • Why does the image look faded?

    Hi all
    I have a photoshop image that is quite black - when I cut & paste it into indesign it looks correct, however when I drag or place the image in, it appears a bit faded.
    Does anyone know what might be causing this?
    Thank you

    (but the preview is still affected)
    When there's transparency on the page the soft proof is via the transparency blend space profile—your document's CMYK profile if it is CMYK. It's the same as turning on Overprint Preview. If your placed image is RGB the preview is showing you what will happen when it converts to document CMYK.
    In Photoshop you can get the same preview by setting the Working CMYK profile to match your ID profile and turning on Proof Colors.

  • Why does flattening image result in locked background?

    When I flatten an image, Photoshop automatically creates one background layer and locks it. How can I set Photoshop to default to NOT locking the background?

    Many Thanks to Welles Goodrich (his post wasn't showing up here when I typed this, for some reason) who said:
    "Presuming you don't have a background layer when you wish to 'flatten,' use the Layer > Merge Visible command rather than Flatten Image. A flattened image always has a background (locked) layer. Why? That's just the way it is. If you want to create a new image without a background layer choose Transparent from the "Background Contents:" menu from the New dialog."
