Why does my Windows Vista computer say the wrong iPod Touch name? I have multiple iPod Touches and after updating one of them, Windows Explorer says they are all the same name now.

I have multiple iPod touches, and I just updated one of them to the newest iOS (5.0.1). Now whenever I plug in any of the others, the name of the one I updated appears in Windows explorer. How can I make Windows able to determine which iPod is which again?

iPod Classic are high drain USB devices, I hope you are not trying to connnect them simultaneously to iTunes, which will definitely hang your USB Host controller, thereby freeze iTunes.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 10 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?

i have an iphone 4 and after updating it to the ios5 software, it will not allow me to activate nor allow me to leave the setup page. i plugged it into itunes and it is stuck there too... i cannot even restore it. does anyone know what to do?
I have had this same issue but thankfully fixed it. Follow he steps below:
Sync your iPhone with you iTunes therefore your info is backed up. Unplug your phone.
Go to Settings > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings
Once your phone has reset and come back on answer the question until it asks if you want to back up from itunes Click this then plug your phone in.
After everything has sync'd back to your phone everything should work fine.

I upgraded to OS7 and then found a new gmail account on my iPad. It has put all my ntlworld emails into this new account and says they are all unread. How can I delete this unwanted account?
If his Gmail account is under the Gmail app and press the app until it wiggles then press the extra deleted. If this account is under the Apple email and then you can go to Settings, mail contacts calendars and then select the account and remove it.

Why does iTunes play consecutive songs by the same artist so often?
Is there a way to stop or greatly reduce the issue in iTunes of playing consecutive songs by the same artist when playing in "shuffle" mode? There was a slide tool in preferences that allowed you to set that to "less likely" or "more likely" but that appears to be gone from iTunes now, or at least I can't find it. Not that it matters much, the problem was WORSE when they added that "tool" anyway. It was less likely before they added whatever that algorithm was. Now this happens constantly that my iPod plays 2 or 3 consecutive songs by the same artist when I am playing it in shuffle mode. I have over 3500 songs on my iPod but it will usually play only a small percentage of those before starting to repeat also. It seems to "stick" in a small area of the alphabet when in shuffle mode. Meaning, it will play artists whose names begin with say L through R and ONLY those artists, then repeat a bunch of them after playing only 20-30 songs. Everything else seems to be working fine on my iPod but this. I suspect it's the programming in iTunes but of course, I have no way to prove that and Apple being the quasi Communist gov't type that they are, I can get no answers from them on this or most questions I have. Maybe somebody here has encountered one of these issues and can offer some resolution?
I wish Apple would just remove the feature that supposedly addresses this issue. It worked better when there was no setting for this. I'm just tired of being pencil whipped by Big Brother.

Since negative -2,147,483,648 equals 2,147,483,648 which is one value over the maximum, it ticks over to -2,147,483,648 again.

Why does my macbook pro keep repairing the same disc permissions
I am trying to figure out why my early 2008 macbook pro is lagging. I tried to repair disc permissions but it always repairs the same ones. The other thought I had was that the video card may be on its way out, but not sure how to check that.

Why does EO always try to import the same three files?
Whenever I open Elements Organizer 12.1 it is attempting to import files. It always finds the same three files and then reports them already in the catalog. If I import files from my camera or card reader or folder, in addition to the files on the selected device it attempts to import the same three files that are already in the catalog. I have seen this message hundreds of times. How do I make it stop attempting to import these three files?
I have tried deleting the three files from the catalog. The first time I opened EO it found the three files and imported them. The next time I opened EO it attempted to import the same three files and reported them already in the catalog. Arrgh...
SteveYeah depends on the source but generally MPG hasn't ever been supported in Final Cut Pro- as Tom says you want to convert it to ProRes elsewhere before bringing into FCP X.

Why does a song not return to the same place when I close it?
Recently, for some reason, when I have a song open and press 'my songs' (which effectively closes the song) the song doesn't return to its usual location on the screen/folder. Instead it cues to the top left hand corner, and likewise with every other song, the same thing happens.
It's only just started doing this which makes remembering what is where even more difficult.

I have some problems with the space on my Iphone 4s. I always get a message that says that I can't rec or can't take another picture because I don't have enough space on my phone. When I go to settings and check, my photo's and video's use almost 10GB (9,8GB). I have 407 pictures and 101 video's (not very long videos, more like short but many). In total i have 508 photo's and video's in my camera roll. My friends have like over a thousand pictures and video's, but they haven't used like 10GB of their space. So why does my 508 picutures and videos use som much more space??
Videos add up fast. A 30 second video on a 4S could easily be 85 MB. 101 of these would be almost 8.6 GB. Add 407 photos at 3 MB each and you reach 9.8 GB.
I would suggest you import some of these to your computer (especially some of the vidoes) and delete them from your phone, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083. -
Why does my iphone 3gs shut down when battery shows 80%. a couple of months ago is shut down at 60% but has continually gotten worse. this was before 5.0. i took it to a repair man and he tried a used battery, a new battery, and the original battery. nothing helped. 5.01 didnt help either. What is my problem?
Fully discharge the battery (till it shuts down and won't turn on) and then fully recharge it (100%). This will recalibrate the battery meter. You may need to do this a few times.

On a certain day,I logged on, opened ff and it took me to another users page,complete with their bookmarks,history,themes,etc. I have lost my page, all info. bookmarks,passwords,etc.This came out of nowhere,as it worked fine the day before. I am attempting to get this code select one of the frames starting with the string "door" at start up. Then, the door should move to the frame
directly following it on the timeline when clicked. However, as the code is written, the frame always jumps to the second frame in the symbol,regardless of what the current label is. What should I change?either:
1. those frames aren't loaded when that code executes or
2. you don't have those labels on the timeline that contains that code or
3. there is other code executing after your goto changing your frame
use the trace() function to debug and find which is your problem.
