We don't know because update function is hidden so deep in the Menu bar's help item that many people don't even know about it. Now you are telling us that an icon is on your desktop so this is completely unusual.
Are you sure it is not the icon for the PSE10 to make it easy for you to launch it? Can you post a screenshot of what is on your desktop.

Several of the last "updates" involved the changing of my bookmarks and home page,. The so called update required me to spend more time in refreshing the browser to its previous condition. This is frustrating to say the least. Second why does the updated version of of firefox seem to favor google?

Normally, an update does not change your home page...
What did you home page change to? That might help identify the source of the problem.
I assume you have tried changing your home page back to your preferred site, either in the Options dialog or using one of the other methods:
* [[Startup, home page and download settings]]
* [[How to set the home page]]
Did that work at all? By "at all" I mean:
* Immediately after making the change, if you click the Home button, or launch a new window using Ctrl+n, does your preferred page load? Or is that ignored?
* Does the setting revert later in your session (you see in Options it has changed)?
* Does the setting revert after you exit and start Firefox up again?
* Is the problem only when you use your Firefox desktop shortcut?
With that information, it will be easier to recommend a solution.
I'm not sure I understand your second question. Google has always been the default search provider in Firefox. Are you seeing even more Google than that?

Why does the app store always crash when I go to use the app genius on my ipod touch, it does it everytime. It even does it ocasionaly when I search for apps. Whats going on Apple. Please look into this or tell me how to turn genius off if thats what is causing the crashes, I can't find how to turn it off in the settings.

I know a lot of people with iphone 5 and have never heard them complain about top button always brake and screen that decides to pop off or the back of their case is bending.
That sounds like a phone that has been dropped a numerous times.

Subagent Configuration form affects only the SNMP subagent, which is a separate entity from
the collector process (snmpcoll). Currently, snmpcoll does not look
at the SNMP configuration data when it starts up. It is started by
the dispatcher and terminates when the dispatcher terminates. Many
of the statistics are supposed to reflect cumulative values recorded since MTA
initialization, such as the total number of messages sent and received.
As a convenience, the collector process collects information in the
background even while the SNMP subagent is turned off; this way,
the values are available when the SNMP subagent is configured and
turned on.

Collections fall off on the Date of First Deliquency 7-7.5 years later; that is supposed to be reported as the first time you went late (1-30 days) on the OC (original creditor) in the chain of events leading up to it's being farmed out for collection as I underestand it. DOFD though sometimes doesn't get reported right, and by default it will be the date the collection is added to the bureaus. As an example I have an awkward collection (not sure how I got it looking at the payment history thought I'd cancelled that account but TWC billing apparently didn't think so) which I went late on in 2009, but didn't get farmed out till late 2010. The DOFD is 6/09 looking at it, and it's expected to come off according to the bureaus 6/16 as a result. Different negatives have their own rules though.

I had similar problem. My iPhone was always about 3 minutes faster than the correct time here in the UK which I found to be very irritating. It just came to a head because here in the UK we have just changed from British Summer Time back to standard GMT. This actually worked automatically except that the iPhone time still showed it to be about 3 minutes faster than GMT. However I have now cured the problem (almost) by going to
Settings/General/ Date & Time/ and then selected the "Set Automatically" button.
The clock then immediately jumped back 3 minutes and now the iPhone time is only about 10 seconds slow which is good enough for me.

why do sometimes (or everytime) i create a code which looks something like this..

}it's always the outermost catch block caughts the error. In this example the line got it here instead: some error messageis displayed.
I really thought for sure the inner exception is the one who should catch the error first, right? Furthermore they both catch the same thing (Exception).

Every day for quite awhile I get a dialogue box saying the update failed. Otherwise Firefox works just fine.

Can I clear the update list, it is getting full, from all the updates. It say open only when I do it is still there. Help please.

Easiest way to clear list is; go to settings>general>date and time and set date manually to a point at least one month in the future (I set mine to two months ahead) and then open App Store and check for updates. The list should now be clear. This is just an update history list. When finished just turn on auto date/time or set it back manually if you like and list should still be clear. If you do nothing the updated apps should start to drop off the list in about two to three weeks.

Why Does The Updater Wreck My Win 7/64?

I have Acrobat 9.3 on a Windows 7/64 bit machine.
Every time the updater runs, in finishes successfully and tells me I have to restart.
OK, I restart.
Then Windows says "We were unable to start windows" and after 30 minutes of looking for the problem, it allows me to restore to a previous restore point.
That usually works.
This is the third time in two different Win 7/64 installations that the Acrobat Updater made my Windows unbootable.
For now, I've turned all updates off.
Any ideas? Is this a known issue?
Is there some kind of weird conflict (I also have Adobe CS 5 Web Suite installed)?

Why does the mail app always freeze?

at times i realize i haven't receive an email in a while...to realize app is frozen. I can enter the app, but its blank. no mailboxes, nothing.

I am having the same issue. It was happening with the original iOS 5 update, the most recent update didn't fix it. When you open it the screen is just blank. It does have the refresh icon at bottom. It that's it. Also having issue with spotlight search and battery. Battery take a long time to charge and decreases very fast. It decreased 2% while I typed this post alone!!

Why does the last still always go first?!

Funny thing keeps happening. I will have a load of still photos I want to add to eg Video 2 above a gray color matte on video 1. Using mouse + Shift in a standard way, with everything set to Sort by File Name Ascending, I drag the lot. Invariably the last picture for some weird reason always puts itself at #1, so that I have to move it manually to the end.

I just took an double check with my Premiere Elements 11 and Project Assets/Sort By/
a. File Name (Ascending)
and
b. Duration (Ascending)
I had two files,
Wildlife.wmv, 30 seconds
and
Windows Movie Maker Sample File.wmv, 12 seconds

List View
Sort By File Name (Ascending)
In Project Assets, Wildlife.wmv on top and Windows Movie Maker Sample File.wmv bottom
When selected there together and dragged to the Expert workspace Timeline together

I repeated the above with Project Assets in the Grid View and go the same trend in results.
So, I am not clear why you are getting what you described. Could you give us a sampling of the file names involved in
your observations and the duration of each of the files?
If you are in the List View, are you clicking on the "name" tab above the list of imported files. That will reverse the ordering of
the files in Project Assets List View. But, from what you describe, I do not think that is it.

The Passcode is the 4 digit code you use to unlock your iPad.

Why does the updated version of iTunes crash when trying to watch TV shows I bought?

just yesterday, I got a notice informing me that there was a new version of iTunes ready to be downloaded. I went ahead and downloaded it and everything seemed to work fine until I tried watching a TV show I already had on there. Every time I would try to start an episode of one of the TV shows, iTunes would crash and shut down. I've never had an issue before, why now after this update? Can someone give me a reason as to why this might be happening and if I can possibly fix it?

I just found out from another post on how you can fix the issue. Open QuickTime Player on your computer and go to Edit >> Preferences >> QuickTime Preferences. Once your in QuickTime Preferences, click on the "Advanced" tab then uncheck the box that says "Enable Direct3D video acceleration". I tried this and it seemed to solve my problem. Hope it works for you!
