Why doesn't LV7 app builder accept VIs without diagrams

When attempting to build an application in LV7, I get error 1073 with a reason given that the sourve VI must have its diagram in order to be included in an application. This has never happened before in LV6.1.

While trying to find something else I found this in my in-box
Ah, I see. So now using strict-typedefs is an advanced feature that would cause application building to croak eh? I'm not sure why LV would not know about a typdef that is physically placed on the diagram. Hmm, I wasn't doing anything different than what I was doing in lv6.1 (I naively think). Once again, NI decides to change certain default behaviors and some of us have to pay for it with late nights at the office.
One more thing. I understand the need to add, change, remove certain behaviors in LabVIEW as the new releases evolve. When doing so however can you guys (LV product developers) just do us a favor and add a few checkboxes or radio buttons so we can switch these things on and off? Enough with this *.ini cat and mouse. Good example: Why couldn't the above setting be a checkbox on the appbuilder screen? At the very least it would have made me look and say "hmm, I wonder if this does it?". It would also make me call up the help to cross-reference. You can call it a feature all you want, in my books a hidden ini setting is not a feature, it's a scapegoat.
I would love to rant some more but I'm too tired...

Why doesn't my apps show up in iTunes? I'm on iTunes 11.1.2.31 using an iPad mini on the latest IOS 7.0.3. Could it be that I'm on a new computer and have some settings messed up? For some reason the Apple servers are having an issue retaining the bank card's CVV code (three digit security code) in the payment method area. Every time I run into an issue, whether in the iTunes Store or the Mac App Store, when I check my account info the CVV code has been missing every time!
Try resolving the problem from iTunes, you have more access to your account details in iTunes. Sometimes it seems that when there is a problem with incorrect or incomplete information regarding your method of payment the Mac App Store's warnings get confusing.
Open iTunes, enter the iTunes Store, then log in and review your account information. Make sure that the billing address is correct and that if needed, the CVV code, the three digit security code from your bank card, is correct. On your way out reset the notifications.

why doesn't facetime on iphone 4 work without wifi with straight talk when other networks can?

Hardware requirements of the iphone 4 do not meet the specifications needed for FaceTime over cellular data.
4S and up do not require wifi for FaceTime.
    this is exactly as intended.

  • Why doesn't the App Store prompt for older versions on first download?

I thought Apple user interfaces were supposed to be slick.  Here's what I have to do to install an app.  I've inherited a first generation iPad from a friend.  The iPad was fully erased and set back to factory defaults before I got it.  I have created my Apple ID and started customising the machine to suit me.  The machine is running the very latest version of IOS it is capable of supporting 5.1.1.  So I gaily visit the app store and start trying to install a few apps I like.  Of course today 90% of the apps in the store are designed for IOS 6 or later and simply refuse to install at all.  So here is the rather less than slick workaround I have to do.
First I have to put the iPad away and go to my Windows 8.1 Desktop computer running iTunes.  I log in using my Apple ID, visit the App Store, pick the apps I want and download a few that I'd like to my computer.  I then switch back to using the iPad.  Now I see the apps I've downloaded to the computer attempting to install themselves on the iPad.  If I've downloaded more than one app.  This fails for all the apps.  I have to wait for all the apps to fail, then delete them from the iPad and then visit the App Store on the iPad and navigate to Purchased Apps section.  Now I can see my apps waiting and can attempt to install them one at a time.  If I do this then, each app attempts to install singly, fails, and then I am gracefully asked if I'd like to download an older version of the app.  If I do that the download and install works - hooray!  I then repeat this process for the remaining apps.  Next time I need to install any apps I have to repeat the whole process.  It's not what I'd call slick.
Why on earth doesn't the App Store simply prompt for an older version of the app when I first want to install it?
Why do I have to do the rigmarole of switching to my PC, downloading there, and then switching back to the iPad again just to force the "Would you like to download an older version of the App" prompt to appear?
    I'm not impressed so far.

No one here can speak for Apple since we are all just users like you. Perhaps the answer is as simple as this. This feature just rolled out recently. Perhaps Apple thought it was important enough to make it available before they had built out the whole solution.
    Just a thought.

  • Why doesn't my App store work after upgrading to 6.0

    IPad 2 wifi
Just got it back from the shop and they did a reset.  When I was updating the IPad so it had the apps I wanted, one of the apps stated I had to have 6.0.  I thought why not.  Since the update, I have not been able to see my list of programs in the App Store under purchased.  It cycles for 5 minutes and then shuts down the App prog.  Took it in to the Apple store and they did all sorts of things to it (mostly through information provided through the communities, Not Apple) and said I had to restore it again.  Wipe and restore it and now it has no Apps other than the original and my list of downloaded programs are still inaccessible.  All other functions of the App Store program worked.
Just as a funny FYI, I downloaded the updated 10.7 ITunes to my laptop and it doesn't have access to my account either.  Just cycles and says the web site cannot be found.  Have another computer with 10.6 and the list works fine.
So now in order to find out what I had on my IPad, I have to either wait for an update to unscrew this mess, or downgrade to 5.1.1 (which isn't available through apple), or go through a list of 4000+ apps and games and hope that I can find the ones that I had before.
I am used to this kind of crap through a PC based system so I learned to make backups.  I guess I need to start learning if apple has a way to do that now because they are as screwed up as PC's.

I would suggest deleting the Safari Preference Files and Caches.
    To do this:
Go to Apple Menu Bar> Go> Library. (You must hold the option key to have the Library option be shown in the menu).
Then go to the Caches folder and look for a folder that says "com.apple.safari" or something similar. Drag that folder to the Trash.
After that, go to the Preferences folder in the Library and look for a file called "Safari.plist" or something similar. Again, drag that file to the Trash.
Close the Finder window and relauch Safari.
    Hope this helps!

  • Why Doesn't this App Work?

I make 10-15 stops in downtown Houston occasionally.  The Houston Metro provides an app named "Houston TRIP".  It's for the iPhone.  I downloaded it for my iPod 5, but iTunes give an error message something like "Cannot install this app because it is not for this iPod."   This app is one of several reasons I bought the iPod.  I was assured the iPod would accept and run all iphone apps except those that used the telephone function.  This app makes no phone calls -- it simply connects you with the Metro website and allows you to find bus routes from point to point.  Since I can't load it, it may do other Metro things but finding bus routes is it's primary purpose.
Anybody know why it's incompatible with a current iPod, yet works on an iPhone?   Also, there many iPhone apps that don't use the phone function yet won't work on the iPad?

The requirements for that app are as follows. Note it requires a cellular connection and the iPod does not have one.
    Requirements: Compatible with iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad Wi-Fi + 3G, iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iPad Wi-Fi + 4G, iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular (4th generation) and iPad mini Wi-Fi + Cellular. Requires iOS 3.1 or later

  • Why doesn't the App Store have a Google Talk client FROM Google?

An IM client without push notifications isn't an IM client. I don't know why a person wouldn't just use email as opposed to a Safari-based IM client on a device that can't run Safari+anything (or when the device is idle). Web-based Google Talk is pointless when iPhone user A has to call iPhone user B and say, "hey, let's chat in Google Talk! go to your Google Talk web site and let's start!". just ridiculous.
What's just as silly is expecting people to give a 3rd party your Google Account credentials. From looking at the forums, plenty of people do just that which blows my mind. Think for 10 minutes all your personal information someone has if they have your Google Account credentials. More and more people are nervous at what Google might do with that info and I'm expected to share my credentials with a 3rd party I've never heard of??
What's even more laughable are those that give their "Google Apps" credentials to those 3rd party IM services which is basically for those that use Google for their corporate email, calendar, docs, internal web sites, etc. I mean, that's grounds for dismissal in most organizations (the bottomline is that there is no Google Talk capability for the iPhone if you are a Google Apps customer, for reasons of practicality and corporate compliancy).
Aside from blowing off steam, I'd like to know who is holding up Google from releasing a Google Talk app for the iPhone that has push notification? Is it Google that's uninterested or Apple that prohibiting them? From what little I've found and from where these two are seeming to part ways, it looks like it's Apple holding up Google from releasing this app. If that's the case, I'd like someone to confirm so I (and hopefully others) can start complaining to Apple. Right now this is the biggest reason I'm waiting for at&t to offer an Android-based device instead of buying my first iPhone. I'm tired of waiting but if Apple is holding Google at bay just for an IM client, I can see the writing on the walls and want no part of an Apple world devoid of Google apps. I just soon go with Android and benefit from the software developer that's developing the most useful apps available (google).

    Official word from Google rep:
"This limitation is not because of Google's relationship with Apple and Apple is not thwarting Google from delivering a GTalk solution"
So my theory gets flushed down the toilet apparently. Oh well!

  • Why Doesn't The App Store Display Correctly on my MBP?

Ever since OS updates were included in the App Store, I noticed that product icons never fully load on the storefront. I'm always having to reload the page to get everything to display properly and sometimes that doesn't work! Hey, Apple... fix your store or I'll be using my Windows 7 Virtual Machine more often!
    The Mac App Store rating...

It doesn't sound like an Apple issue but rather one about your user profile.
I have a few apple comptuers running the same OS, and they have no issue.  As the iApps store, is an internet store, other people in your area would also be having the same issue if it was the iApps store that was causing the problem.
