Why has Thunderbird been arbitrarily moving my folders around; what was a primary folder becomes a subfolder in another category?

Often when I first start Thunderbird I find that my folders & subfolders have been moved around. Honest, I'm not using my computer while I sleepwalk! Mack OS 7.5

using a phone and IMAP perhaps?

iChat 5.x.x works in Snow Leopard.
(Older versions also work in earlier OS versions)
iChat 4 and iChat 5 had a method of getting to a registration page for @mac.com names.
The iChat version no longer does this (but the registration page still exists)
In addition to this if you selected AIM then the option does not work now as AIM moved their Registration pages soon after Snow Leopard came out.

Keep the password to 16 characters or less (AIM server limit)
You cannot use an email that has already been used with or is an Apple ID.

You need an email for Confirmation and for Password recovery (You can use it again and again if you want to set up loads of names)
You can chose a Name or use an existing email.
iChat can also use Jabber IDs
Google Mail IDs can have Talk enabled in their Google Account settings and then it can be used in iChat
Facebook have a Chat option that needs enabling.
Both use Jabber servers and your ID with them is a Valid Jabber name.
There are lots of other Public Jabber servers.

If you're a paying Creative Cloud member, you may not see Lightroom in the Creative Cloud if your computer doesn't meet the minimum system requirements. Check to make sure that your system meets the minimum requirements for the latest release of Lightroom.

Since my previous message, there has been a Java update for Snow Leopard (at the same time as one for Lion and Mountain Lion), and its main purpose was to fix security issues. That at least shows Apple has not completely stopped doing Snow Leopard updates.
We still don't know what is happening with general security updates for Snow Leopard, and won't until Lion gets its next general security update, or if there is a minor version update for Lion which includes security fixes.
The one obvious missing update so far is Safari: when Safari 6 was released for Lion, it included security fixes, but there has been no corresponding Safari update for Snow Leopard. That suggests either a delay in supplying a Snow Leopard update for Snow Leopard, or that Snow Leopard updates are starting to wind down.

I moved the mobilesync path where my backups should be stored. However, since then I moved some folders around which I think is the source of my error. I can no longer backup my iphone. How do I fix this?

It sounds like you are unable to backup your phone after moving the mobile sync folder from its default location. If moving it back manually does not resolve the issue, I would next use either of the following articles to remove iTunes from your computer and then re install it. The articles outline the proper order to remove them in, and step by step instructions:

Why has TB started creating INBOX/Trash folders on all my accounts and how can I prevent it?

For some reason, Thunderbird has started creating the folder INBOX with a subfolder Trash in it on all my IMAP email accounts whenever it starts. INBOX is grayed out, Trash is not. The INBOX folders are subfolders to the Inbox folder of the account and there is already a Trash folder as a subfolder to the Inbox account. How can I stop this from happening?
This is on Windows machines, latest version of TB.

I have the exact same problem. It seems to have started up recently. Looking at your post date of 3/1/2015, mine might have started a little bit later, but nonetheless around the same timeframe. I have tried deleting this 'shadow' folder, and it goes in the trash, and I empty the trash, and I think everything is great. Until the next time I start up TB, and it shows up as a Subdirectory of "Inbox". I use IMAP, and I check on the server side and see it there. And when I delete it from TB. It disappears from the server side. I empty the trash. I keep outlook closed for many hours, check the server side and it's "clean", as soon as I start up Thunderbird, within seconds, the 'shadow' (Inbox->"Inbox->Trash") pair of directories show up. And then it shows up on the server side as well. I have quite a number of email accounts/profiles, and it seems this happens to all but 'one' of them. Not sure what's magical about this one other profile. Otherwise, the other 10+ accounts ALL have this problem now. Some were created years and years ago, and some were created within the last year. I'm on a Mac.
At first (and still suspect) I thought it might have had to do with the 'Server Settings-> When I delete a message: -> Move it to this folder" setting, but I checked and all the old accounts and the new account has the same setting. It sets it to "Move it to this folder: "Trash on [email protected]" of the corresponding account.
And on the 'new' account, it is set to "Choose Folder". I've left it alone. For fear that if I 'choose' the folder to be like I've set up all the others, that this will start creating the 'Shadow' "INBOX->Trash" folder under the 'Inbox' of all my accounts.
I wish there was a way for me to 'reset' the selection on one of my other accounts to "Choose Folder" and see if it helps 'fix' the problem. Nonetheless, it seems to be a weird bug.

HT2105 So far my daughter has not been able to redeem allowance. Whats wrong?

There has not been anything showing up on my daughters iTunes account for her monthly allowance. I logged onto her iTunes account and go to the redeem page but all that is there is a field to enter a code into. I dont have a code. Was I supposed to get one when I set up the allowance?

The Apple TV cannot receive live streams such as that.
However if the website or app you are watching it from is enabled then you can stream it to your Apple TV via airplay. If you have the iPhone 4S you could also use mirroring.

ITunes ping featured artists is not availabe in Canada and it was before why has it been removed?

In iTunes in the store section in ping where you are able to search for featured artists that feature has been removed. It says " the request could not be completed the item I requested is not available in the Canadian store" it was before why was it removed? Thank you

Any error messages?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

hello onlyus, the firefox aurora release channel has been converted into the firefox developer edition. your data hasn't be erased but the dev edition starts with a separate profile by default.

Why has iMessage been replaced by iChat?

Suddenly iMessage quit working and next I know it has been replaced by iChat. This is very annoying since iChat isn't at all like iMessage and I thought it was supposed to be the other way around, isn't iChat supposed to replace iMessage? If I can't have iMessage I sure don't want iChat.

Messages was included on Mountain Lion in order to get iMessage compatibility with iChat, because Messages has got all the iChat features and iMessage support. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5395
If you're using Lion, you must know that the Lion version was only a beta that expired this month, so you have to upgrade to Mountain Lion to get Messages. If not, open Messages > Uninstall Messages to get iChat instead of Messages

Why has mail drag and drop to folders gotten so sensitive that it wants to drop the mail back to the inbox and open the destination folder instead?

Running Thunderbird 16.0.2 on a MacBook Pro.

Perhaps the issue is related to the volume of messages or the settings on the IMAP/POP server.
Maybe your TB settings for Synchronization & Storage.
With IMAP, messages usually remain on the server.
With POP, they are usually removed when downloaded.
Cookies and cache may need cleaning. Also check your firewall permissions. and your IP address for blacklist.

Why can't I download itunes 10.5 and why has it been like this for days and apple hasn't fixed it yet?

I have tried multiple times to download itunes on my pc with windows 7. At this point I am incredibly frustrated and have come to the conclusion that a) apple so doesn't care about the pc users that purchase their products b) itunes is apparently not meant to be user friendly since many people can't even download it and c) the people employed by apple aren't that bright since that can't make a working version of a program that they have put out not once or twice but over 10 times...

I had the same experience. I'm using a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop, with Windows 7 Home Edition, 32 bit.
I tried to install iTunes 10.5 and it started installing, then, just before the end of the process, came up with the following error message:
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
Of course, no information on what the program that couldn't be run was! At first I tried the usual stuff, like scanning for viruses etc. but nothing doing. Then I started Googling. In the end, I uninstalled all Apple stuff from my computer. A lot of it I had to do manually, going in to the program files drive and deleting stuff from there, but some of it wouldn't delete as it was saying it was open in Windows Explorer. In the end, I managed to delete the iTunes folders by selecting one of my mp3 tracks saved on the computer and right clicking 'open with'. I then browsed my pc to locate the iTunes folders still outstanding and was able to right click and delete them that way.
Then emptied the recycle bin and did a restart before going online and downloading iTunes 10.5.
Thankfully it worked, but its taken me a good few hours and made me really quite tetchy! I've never had this problem before, so I hope this is going to be a one off.
One thing that doesn't seem to be working is that, despite how many times I tell it that my preference is for the iTunes Media folder to be located on my external hard drive, it keeps putting it back to the C drive! Didn't have that issue with the last version. Grrrrrr. Arrrrgggh.
Hope you manage to get yours sorted - this is affecting a lot of people by the look of things.
