This is not the work of a virus, or any other kind of malware. What it sounds like is a very badly corrupt hard drive causing all manner of corruption in your various system components and applications. If you actually had malware, Sophos would find it. If Sophos found nothing, there was almost certainly nothing to find. If something like Sophos ever should find malware, unless the malware has "OSX" or "MacOS" in the name, it probably isn't Mac malware and thus isn't something you need to worry about (other than not passing it on to other people).

The software switch is in the task bar at the bottom. Double tap the home button and swipe to the right in the bottom of the screen. The speaker icon on the left would be where the software switch would be.
If you don't see a lock icon in the upper right corner, the screen isn't locked, reboot your iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Why do the podcast controls shift towards the upper bar when you close the app, double click the home button, swipe to get to the controls, press play, listen to the "video podcast" for a few min (like you would if you wanted to listen to the podcast for a while instead of watching) and then return to the video? The video controls are shifted.

I've often experienced this sort of behaviour in CS3 on WinXP. It happens when I've been working on the same file for a long time, and it seems to indicate that I'm running out of memory (particularly VM?). Minimize/maximize gives temporary respite, Save As a bit longer, but eventually I have to close down ID and restart. I usually reboot at the same time just to make sure. Then I'm good to go for another few hours.

Where abouts ? If it's at the top of the screen next to the battery indicator then you have rotation lock 'no'. Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (rotation lock or mute notifications), then you can lock/unlock the rotation by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. Apps are locked to the Apple ID that was used to download them. You will have to sign in as your brother in order to update it.

Apparently someone else had the number before because I get texts from his family members wondering whats going on. I got one yesterday and the person didn't seem to thrilled that the number was cutoff and today I got 2 texts about iCloud Keychain which I don't even know what it is. Seems suspicious to me. If the person who use to own the number is doing it he should know it is not his number anymore because he obviously didn't pay his bills. I'm not too sure about iCloud Keychain so just want to know my info safe?? It says it can store credit card numbers which is what gets me worried. Frankly I think it's pretty stupid to save that kind if information with any kind of app. But I don't want some random person trying to access my personal information because they are bitter they lost their number. Please let me know as soon as possible so I can change passwords or anything that is needed.

Why doesn't New Tab command work? Or clicking + sign in tab bar?

I looked at the answer to the + sign not working. But could not understand what exactly was the solution. The File>New Tab command is the same as clicking the + sign. Neither work for me UNLESS I launch Firefox in "safe" mode (Option-click). I don't see why I have to remember Option-click every time I open Firefox.

Where can I find the 'lock' sign when I enter a verified website. In prior versions, it used to show up on the status bar in the right bottom

How can I verify in firefox 4 if the webpage I'm on is secured? in prior versions the 'lock' sign was popping up on the statusbar in the right bottom.

I understand the reasoning behind removing this. I have worked in IT for 30 years, I like how this works in FF4. My concern, however, is that my 75 year-old parents do not, all they know is that for the last 10 years I have been telling them that if they don't see a padlock they should not enter any sensitive information. They will never click on the verification button, nor would they understand any of the information there anyway. In addition color coding the button does not help my color blind father nor my nearly-blind mother.
I have been a huge proponent of FireFox since the original beta, but I will now begin telling all of my non-technical family and friends that come to me for IT advice to use a different browser, because I have neither the time nor the patience to retrain them.
