Why is my library no longer accessable on my iphone g3?  It used to be there.

Why is my library no longer accessable on my iphone g3?  It used to be there.  Now I've got a partially list of audiobooks, (why aren't all of them there?) and NONE of the music or videos that are in my itunes folder on my computer.  What happened and how do I reload?  Regular syncing does nothing, nor can I drag files to the phone from the computer.  Thank you!

Called in and discovered I needed to adjust sync settings after loading Mavericks last year.  (Rarely use my phone for music, hence not noticing til now.)  Did that on my laptop in the iTunes library using the iphone button that shows when it's connected to the phone.  Works perfectly now.  Thanks so much for your suggestion!

  • Why Can't I see or access my external hard drive anymore using finder

I have a MacBook using Lion 10.7.5 and I use a Seagate 1 TByte external hard drive to store large photo and video files so that these won't take up space on my system hard drive. I also use the drive to share files with friends, colleagues and family members. Just recently I was no longer able to see my harddrive when I plugged it into the USB port on the Mac. However, when using the Disk Utilities, I was able to see the hard drive but could not access or see the files. Therefore the USB cable and USB port is working from a hardware perspective.  The light also was on when I plugged the hard drive into the USB port so I know the hard drive is working.  I brought the laptop and hard drive to my local Apply store to see if they could determine the problem. They did everything I already did regarding the testing of hardware. They recommended that I reload my software because something in the OS must have gotten corrupted. I re-installed the OS and the updates to the version.  The re-install DIDN'T help.  Using Bootcamp with Windows XP which is installed on my MacBook, I wanted to find out if Windows would recognize the hard drive and also give me access to the files.  Using Windows, I was able to now see the drive and access the files. I now know the hard drive works, the USB cable and port is working and windows gave me the ability to access all of the files.
THE FIX: The hard drive was stuck in the Windows Mount Mode and because of this, the Mac OS was not able to recognize the hard drive using finder in Mac OS.  When I was still in Windows, I ejected or dismounted the dick prior to removing the hard drive from the MacBook.  I then shut down Windows and restarted the Mac OS.  Once the system was fully up, I plugged the hard drive into the MacBook via the USB port. The Hard Drive is now being recognized by my Macbook once more. I can again access all my files.
HOW THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED: While sharing my hard drive with a colleague to transfer some files on a PC using Windows, the colleague disconnected the hard drive from the PC after the files were transferred by pulling the USB cable out of the USB port without a software dismount or ejection.  This caused the hard drive to hang in a "windows mounted state" even though there was no power to the hard drive. When peripherals are connected to either a Mac or PC systems, they should always to properly dismounted via a software dismount or a system ejection. Proper dismount of peripherals will always insure the closure and correct allocation of data within the booting sectors and data fields of the hard drive.

Thanks everyone. I suppose I'll just reformat for Apple. I need to use it for large files, and I suppose I could survive without editing ablities on Windows.
There's another alternative, format it as exFat, 4G limit does not apply and OSX + Windows will be able to read/write.

  • Why do my playlists no longer sync reliably with iPhone?

Having used iTunes and various devices without difficulty for 8 years, I've only now encountered playlist syncing problems between iTunes and my iPhone 5. Random songs are missing from random playlists. The songs are transferred to the device but do not appear in the playlist. When they are manually added in the device, they dissappear at the next sync.

I am having a similar problem; only with the last few syncs to my iphone 5S (lastest iOS version) with 11.1.4 version of iTunes on MacBook Pro.
The problem seems with small playlists where I have downloaded 1 song on my iphone and the other on my MacBook Pro - only the song downloaded to the MacBook will sync with iphone 5S - the one downloaded to my phone transfers to music library but won't sync back to iphone from playlist created on MacBook.
But, an album I downloaded to Mac and added to a playlist synced with iphone first attempt = no hassles.

  • Why is my Bluetooth no longer pairing with my iPhone 5?

Why is my bt not pairing with my iPhone 5? I've tried everything, but nothing works.

Disconnect all peripherals from your computer.
Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
    Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
    Select Disk Utility.
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.
    Click Repair Disk.
    Restart your computer when done.
Repair permissions after you reach the desktop-http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2963 and restart your computer.

  • Why does my library randomly not upload to my iphone anymore?

I began to delete a few songs off of my itunes library today and added a few, then I began to sync my iphone with the new library and only 3 songs show up on my iphone, how can i fix this?

Sometimes that is a business decision, sometimes technology driven.  Operating systems and software get to a point where hardware is not capbable of using the software effectively so it is not supported.  This has happened a few times in the life of various Mac OS versions.
It's frustrating but not much we individual users can really do about it.

  • Why does it take SO long to synchronize my iphone with my macbook pro

    Hi fellow users,
It takes unbelievable long for my iPhone 4S to synchronise with my MacBook Pro. Happens everytime.
I started the synch early yesterday evening (19:00). It is now 10:35 the following day and it is still not finished.
    Has anyone any ideas?
Have a great day Desmond, a Brit living in Germany.

I have this aggravating issue as well, only I just have an iPhone 4s 16GB (yes, STILL!).  One of the (many) reasons I haven't upgraded is the deteriorating performance factors induced by Apple.  If it takes forever to sync just a 16GB iPhone, syncing a 64GB or 128GB iPhone must be an all day test of aggravation!  Since I'm finding no credible or relevant answers here I thought I'd post my observations.  When I watch the sync process, I can see that the procedure backs up my iPhone data, removes it from the phone, then reinstalls it again with any updates to the data since the last sync.  This is a programming "feature".  I don't know what the reasons are for not designing the sync process to handle only changed data as in any other data backup process.  Maybe it's laziness at Apple, maybe it's a technical issue that their programmers are incapable of solving, or maybe there's a monitoring aspect involved that this method allows Apple to collect information on users more effectively.  I just don't know their reasons for this, or many baffling things they do.  I do know that if their corporate data backups were performed in the same manner in which the iPhone sync is performed, there would never be a break in the backup processes at Apple, nor would the process ever complete.  It's ludicrous to program the SW (iTunes) run this inefficiently.  I can't fathom having a larger capacity iPhone and dealing with the constant aggravation of what must be hours to sync simple data changes caused only by the poor routine programmed into iTunes.  From what I can see, it's basically like loading a blank phone every time I want to sync data.  Completely ridiculous as far as I can tell.  Even if the reasoning is to remove dead sectors, blank sectors etc, I'd think with all the money Apple has and makes on a quarterly basis, they could afford to spend the time and money in R&D to make the sync process a **** of lot more tolerable for users.

  • Why does it take so long to update my iphone?

Every time i try and update my iphone 3 it takes like 3 hours and then my internet is timed out can any one advise me on this?

Yes. The reason for this is when you update your iPhone iTunes automatically makes a backup of all your settings. To try and cut down on this long backup time switch your phone on airplane mode as this will make iTunes not backup your network settings which is what is taking up so much time.

  • Why is it taking so long to sync my iPhone with my macbook

I have tried several times to sync my iPhone with my Macbook but is seems to get stuck to syncing email. I'm only syncing my Mac mail account which has 470 emails in it so I don't know why it's hanging here.

how do you expect us to know? contact Apple directly and ask them.

  • Why is it taking so long to get an iPhone 5s ordered directly from Apple?

My daughter ordered an iPhone (5s, 32gb, black) directly from Apple on the first day possible. She still has not received it. I ordered one from ATT and rceived it in two days. Does anyone know whether this wait from Apple is normal?

She should call the Apple Store ask ask about status. With the iPhone 5S now showing 2-3 week delivery, I would think it unusual and an indication of a problem with the order that a 5S ordered the first day hasn't yet shipped.
    Regards.

  • Hi! My iPhone was stolen 4 hours ago and the thief managed to change the apple iD until I changed it again, I was wondering if he can access to the iPhone now or use it now that it is changed again, does anyone know? Thank you!

Hi!My iPhone 4s was stolen about 4 a hours ago,Thad thief managed tochange the apple iDpassword  so changed it after that ,I was wondering now that I changed it again if the thief can access or us it,does anyone know? Thank you!

If you have Find My Phone enabled then put your phone in Lost Mode. If Find My Phone is not enabled then there is little you can do to prevent access to it. Unless you let anyone know your Apple ID's password, the thief should not be able to change it.
What To Do If Your iDevice Is Lost Or Stolen
    iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad
If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if it is connected to the Internet by Wi-Fi or cellular. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty.
If your iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, or iPad is lost or stolen what do you do? There are things you should have done in advance - before you lost it or it was stolen - and some things to do after the fact. Here are some suggestions:

  • Dreamweaver CS4: Audio plugings no longer work on any browser---as they used to Is there an update?

    CS4 audio Plugin Update?

We don't use player plugins anymore.  Not since HTML5 <audio> tags were introduced into the W3C spec.
Browser plugins are prone to failure unless the end user has the necessary player app and browser plugins installed on their device -- which many people don't have.
If you want to play audio files, just save them MP3 & OGG files.  Use the HTML5 audio tag as shown below.  All modern browsers and mobile devices support this method.
