If by continuity you mean handoff or other functions like that ,then i think i have all that stuff turned off and I'm still getting notifications and txt on my computer.Furthermore, if the user has to go into all kinds of sub menus to turn off an annoyance, then this just adds another reason apple products can be very annoying. there should be one submenu to control connectivity and also the ability to turn it off all together if one wants to. Is there an actual connectivity menu I'm not seeing somewhere? iPhone 6 8.1 / Mac pro running yosemite

I updated my 4s to IOS 8 and now it won't automatically connect with my Ford SYNC. I have to turn the phone off and then on again for it to connect.
Why is this? My husband's 4s is still on IOS7 and it still connects automatically.I do not know if this will help.

Since you use the work "pairs", I must assume you're talking about bluetooth.
Unless you're trying to use the personal hotspot to tether the computer to the phone, you can't do that...
You can only use bluetooth with a computer for tethering. Bluetooth file sharing is not supported. Neither is bluetooth sync. -

I don't know the particulars but it's not hard to image that when the connection detects no traffic for a certain period of time it automatically disconnects.

I have an account for apple but this is not acceptable for i cloud. It say it is correct ID and password but this is not icloud account. So my phone can not connect with my computer and not synchronization too. Last a few months i have not use this phone. Just i start to use again. You said, "the 4 also has signal and wifi whereas the 5 has only wifi". By "signal", I'm assuing that you mean cellular signal. If so, that means your iPhone 4 is still active on your cellular number and your iPhone 5 is not. Contact your carrier to sort out which phone is active on your account.

Ok, so sometimes apple's servers may crash, temporarily. Just check the following site: http://www.apple.com/uk/support/systemstatus/
and it will notify you of any crashes. The link above is for the UK. Change to adapt to your country if you are outside of the UK. If your problem isn't listed I am sure it will be resolved within 24 hours. If this problem persists best thing is to contact apple.

MBA (latest os), even my ip5 (latest ios) & ipm (also latest ios) looses the connecntion.
Ive tried to figure out what causes the problem - neither my xbox360 nor (and i guessed they will be the problem) the pcs here...
the connecntion runs well.. switching also (MBA-IP5-IPM).. but not for longer than an hour.. or even minutes. When the connection looses a high-frequency noise is followed by silence. A restart fix that problem and all devices streaming well... but not for long...
any suggestions? -
Hello! I am trying to sync my iPhone 4 to my iTunes. My phone is connected to my computer, (was able to import pics) but I cannot manage my apps or music in iTunes. I ran diagnostics and it says 'no iPhone found'. It then takes me to Apple Support that says:

An exclamation point, question mark, plug symbol, or "X" appears next to the device's entry in Device Manager.

How can i get my printer to connect with my computer to print?
I have a HP photosmart prem-web C309n-s printer. I have two different computers. One is a 4 year old HP laptop, and I just recently purchased an HP touchsmart 320 PC. I installed the printer when I first got this computer, and the printing worked fine from any computer that was in the house. Now, it seems that my printer is not connected with my computer. With my dad's laptop in the house, he had before installed the printer, and when I look up the network on my printer, the only computer that it shows connection with is his. I need to print things for class, and I'm not sure how to make my desktop "visible" to my printer. Please help!!!!
