Why is org.postfix.master running

Hi,
When I do a
launchctl list
it list org.postfix.master as running. I'm not running mail so why would this be?
If I try and unload it
launchctl unload org.postfix.master.plist it says there is nothing ti unload.
Is it normal for it to run even if I'm not running mail?

Yes, the default configuration is for SMTP (postfix) to be available on demand in case for example a web application needs to mail out.
If you want to completely disable it, issue:
sudo /bin/launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.postfix.master.plist
This will disable the launchd item. Careful with using Server Admin though as it will re-enable it when you use the mail section of it.

Why is my macbook pro running slow and I can also hear the fan running continuously

My macbook pro started running slow last night. I turned it off and waited til this morning to turn it on again. It is still running really slow when I browse through my dock or apps and everything takes forever to open, my fan is also running pretty loud, I could not hear it running until last night. Can anyone help me out?

Postfix/master "master exite time has arrived"

Recently I've been seeing lot's of these entries in the mail.log - every minute.
I found an archived discussion at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2251240?start=0&tstart=0
Archived or not I'd like to bring it up again since in google the archived solution was the first entry and didn't provide a solution.

The issue here seems to be, that the server was trying to transmit an email that took it too long - took to long = more than 60 seconds. You can change this behavior in the file /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.postfix.master.plist
Convert the file to xml with sudo plutil -convert xml1 /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.postfix.master.plist
edit the file - choos editor you like - the key that says "60" to something bigger (I made it 600 = 10 Minutes)
Convert the file back to binary with sudo plutil -convert binary1 /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.postfix.master.plist
Unload the plist with sudo launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.postfix.master.plist
Load the plist with sudo launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.postfix.master.plist

Q: Why does a VRRP master with preemption disabled regain master state after the reboot?
A: This issue is found in the following scenarios:
1. When spanning tree is disabled on either of the VRRP controllers but enabled on upstream switch(es).
2. When the controller(any one VRRP controller) and upstream device(s) run different versions of STP.
3. STP convergence time is different across the VRRP controllers.
In these scenarios, rebooted vrrp master is expected to come back as vrrp MASTER as the link takes some time to converge and fail to receive VRRP advertisement packets from its peer and may roll back to MASTER.
Trigger for this is, since STP is enabled on intermediate switch and disabled on controller, switch is taking some time ~30 secs to converge the link while port on the controller has become UP and fail-over to Master due to
not receiving VRRP advertisement packets
In all these cases, it is advised to enable holdtime to mitigate issue. Holdtime has been introduced to tackle this issue in the "preemption disabled scenario".
Configuration via CLI:
(controller) (config) #vrrp <id>
(controller) (config-vrrp)#holdtime
Description:
The VRRP virtual router does not begin listening to advertisements until the holdtime expires. If your deployment includes a VRRP master with preemption disabled and an uplink switch is running RSTP, a higher value will prevent the VRRP master from regaining the master state after it reboots.
Range: 30 - 120 seconds
Default: 45 seconds

I can't update either of these because of my Avid installation.
Something else I didn't mention – this happens in a 4K project. Notice how a default Zoom title looks:
Lines 1 and 2 are almost stacked on top of each other.
Here's my title style:

Notice how it's pushed down?
Then I decided to make a 720p project. No more title problems.

I have looked at other similar discussions dealing with Postfix loops, but I can't find one with a set of messages identical to the above, so I'm not sure if any of the posted solutions will work for this issue.
Can anyone advise me on how to diagnose and fix this? I have to think that it is consuming unnecessary resources and slowing down processing.
I am running Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) on a mid-2010 MacBook Pro.

What are setup tables and why do you need to run it

Hello Gurus,
I know the steps for setting up the LO cockpit exactors.
My question is what are the parameters that you feed into the Setup table filling screen --- like the doc numbers, start date and end date.
Why do we have to run the setup tables?
If I give the start date for setup table run for SD as 08/24/06 and end time Nill and others parameters blank, then would the set up job run for ever. Is this how you set it up in production environment.
Does setup mean, bringing the data from application table to extraction structructure?

Frequent postfix "master exit time has arrived" error messages in the log

I'm seeing this in my mail.log every minute:

This does not seem to be normal behavior. Is something misconfigured here? How can I fix this?

just experienced this and found your thread while looking for an answer.
do you have any thing in /var/spool/postfix/maildrop ? if there is something there, then launchd will keep launching postfix.
(ls /var/spool/postfix/maildrop)
i had a file there, and the permissions were wrong for it to process. so it kept launching, but never was able to clear the folder.
i did a chmod 775 on that document ( something like: sudo chmod 755 /var/spool/postfix/maildrop/* ), and that has fixed it after years of issues.
i'm not sure it's the best answer, but worked for me.

Why won't Photoshop CC run on my laptop I just installed it today. I signed out on my desktop but the laptop still will not run Photoshop CC. It starts but then closes itself down immediately after starting.

Well it is the same Win7 that is running on my desktop and yes I have an internet connection and at that time is was hard wired not wireless. I just downloaded and installed the Photoshop and Bridge Apps. The laptop is about 2 yrs old and it is a high end machine and Photoshop6 runs on it just fine. I sure wish someone from Adobe would answer this question as it is beyond frustrating to me that this stuff works so poorly and you can never get a good answer out of them about anything ever.

Every time I executed VL02N then click on post button I get an abap dump "CX_SY_DYN_CALL_ILLEGAL_FORM". I've learned that i have to run report RV80HGEN to activate the routine in QAS. My question is why do I have to run this report that I never ran in DEV? If you have SAP Notes it will be highly appreciated.

The reply is already given for this.
In development you dont need to run this because, when the program is created, the technical tables are automatically generated for usage. However when you move this to the target system, you manually have to execute the program to activate these table entries for the routine.
You can also include this program in the transport where the routine is saved. In this case, when the routine moves to the target system, the program automatically runs and the routine will be generated in the target system.
